In this study, we investigated the prediction performance of a low-cost wearable bioimpedance device (Max30009) compared to InBody770, a stationary and medically approved device, for 46 subjects (50% female, 35.9 ± 9.8 years, 172.0 ± cm, 74.3 ± 15.6 kg, 25.0 ± 4.2 kg/m\n <jats:sup>2</jats:sup>\n ) from the Oulu region. Furthermore, we analyzed whether the measurement location (hand-to-hand, hand-to-foot, hand-to-torso, and torso-to-torso) affects named performance. We conducted ridge-regression analysis with leave-one-out cross-validation for bioimpedance data (20 kHz to 200 kHz) in combination with anthropometrics (age, weight, height, sex, and BMI) for each location. The models explained 88% - 97% of the variance in all target variables across locations. Bland-Altman analysis revealed limits of agreement up to ± 10% for water (total body water, extracellular water, and intracellular water), fat-free mass, and skeletal muscle mass. Fat parameters showed limits of agreement up to ± 30%. One-way repeated-measures ANOVA revealed no significant differences between measurement locations and when compared to InBody770. To conclude, bioimpedance data of a low-cost device, in combination with anthropometrics, can estimate body composition with reasonable accuracy. This highlights the potential for integrating the measurement method and the device into affordable wearable technologies and, consequently, increasing accessibility of this method.\n </jats:p>",

"fi": "Tunnettujen reviirien rajat on määritetty vuosittain kanta-arvion yhteydessä. Reviirien rajat perustuvat sähköiseen kirjausjärjestelmä Tassuun tallennettuihin havaintotietoihin, maastosta kerättyihin DNA-näytteisiin ja GPS-pannoitettujen susien paikannustietoihin. Jos saatavilla on kattava GPS-paikannusmateriaali, rajat voidaan määrittää käyttäen pelkästään niitä eikä muuta tietolähdettä välttämättä tarvita. Tällä hetkellä vain yhdestä reviiristä on saatavilla GPS-havaintotietoa, mutta muuten pääasiassa reviirirajat perustuvat susihavaintoihin ja DNA-materiaaliin.\n\nKanta-arviossa huomioitiin TASSUun kirjatut lauma- ja parihavainnot, jotka on tehty ilmoitetulla tarkastelujaksolla. Reviirit rajataan kirjattujen havaintojen pohjalta ja hyödyntäen myös DNA-näytteisiin pohjautuvia yksilötunnistuksia. DNA-aineisto mahdollistaa kunkin alueen yksilöiden erottamisen toisistaan ja havaintotieto auttaa hahmottamaan koko reviirialueen.\n\nAineistoista rajattujen reviirien pinta-alat vastaavat yleisesti GPS-seurantojen välityksellä saatua tietoa susireviirien todellisesta pinta-alasta (keskiarvo n. 1 200 km2, vaihteluväli 650–1 900 km2).\n\nIlman DNA-yksilöintejä tai GPS-merkintöjä joudutaan reviirirajoja arvioimaan havaintojen sijoittumisesta alueella, ja tekemään visuaalisen tarkastelun perusteella todennäköisin rajaus.\n\nReviirin rajaukset edustavat vain todennäköistä vaihtoehtoa. "en": "This repository contains 50 ps ab-initio molecular dynamics (AIMD) simulation runs of 24 small organic molecules, which were used to compute the reference DFT-based infrared spectra using FHI-aims. For more information, please refer to: https://doi.org/10.1038/s41524-025-01827-8 \r\n\r\nStructure of the data \r\nThe dataset is organized into six compressed archives: `data_1.zip`, `data_2.zip`, ..., `data_6.zip`. Each archive contains data for 4 molecules, named `Molecule_i` (where *i = 0 to 23*, distributed across the files). \r\n\r\n Structure of Each Archive \r\n\r\nEach `Molecule_i` folder within the archives contains two subdirectories: \r\n`Berendsen_dyn` \r\n`Nose_Hoover_dyn` \r\n\r\nContents of Subdirectories \r\n\r\nThese subdirectories include: \r\n\r\nInput files for molecular dynamics (MD) simulations. \r\n\r\nOutput files generated during the MD runs. \r\n\r\nRestart files for resuming MD simulations. \r\n\r\n\r\nExample \r\n\r\nThe `Berendsen_dyn` folder contains files to run MD simulations using Berendsen thermostat. \r\n\r\nThe `Nose_Hoover_dyn` folder contains files to run MD simulations using Nose-Hoover thermostat. \r\n\r\nAlongside this, two additional archives-`Data_MOH_Temp.zip` and `Data_EtOH_Temp.zip`—are included. Each archive contains 50ps AIMD trajectories (Nose-Hoover) in ASE .extxyz format for methanol and ethanol, respectively, at temperatures of 100K, 300K, 500K, 700K, and 900K."

"en": "Abstract Background Opioid use is associated with increased health care service utilization but home care recipients and patients with dementia have been mostly ignored in earlier studies, although changes in their health status can have dramatic cost consequences. This study examined social and health care utilization and costs among older home care recipients before and after opioid initiation, with persons with dementia as a subgroup of interest. Methods This retrospective nationwide register-linkage study included Finnish regular home care recipients aged ≥ 65 years with opioid initiation between 1st March 2015 and 31st December 2016. Recipients with health care contacts due to cancer and palliative care were excluded. Incidence rate ratios of social and health care service use during the observation period starting one year before and ending one year after opioid initiation were calculated using nationwide register data. The utilization costs of various social and health care service categories were compared before and after the opioid initiation. Recipients with and without dementia were analysed separately. Results Home care recipients had 1.76 (95% CI 1.75 − 1.78) times more inpatient days, 1.31 (1.26 − 1.36) times more emergency care admissions, and recipients without dementia had more outpatient service use (secondary care 1.10 [1.06 − 1.13], primary care 1.06 [1.04 − 1.07]) after opioid initiation compared to the preceding year. Home care service use decreased (0.85 [0.85 − 0.85]) in recipients with dementia but increased in those without (1.08 [1.08 − 1.08]). Of the recipients, 20.8% were admitted to long-term residential care during the follow-up year. The mean annual total costs per recipient were 21% higher during the year following opioid initiation compared to the preceding year. A peak in the costs, consisting largely of inpatient costs, was observed about a month before opioid initiation, after which costs showed a declining trend but remained above the baseline level. Conclusions Recipients’ monthly health care resource use started to increase already before opioid initiation, after which monthly expenditures declined steadily, which may reflect mostly recipients’ worsened health status before opioid initiation. Most of the expenditures arose from housing services. The relationship between opioid use and utilization of residential care and home care services should be further examined. "en": "SampoSampo: Connecting Everything to Everything Else\r\n\r\nLeonardo da Vinci (1452-1519) has said: \"Learn how to see. Realize that everything connects to everything else\". This wisdom is very true regarding Cultural Heritage (CH) data due to its rich linkedness, and regarding Linked Open Data (LOD), where enriching data by linking is the great underlying promise. SampoSampo - \"the Mother of other Sampos and beyond\" aims to adress the challenge set by Leonardo da Vinci by interlinking data about historical Finnish people, organizations, places, and events from a variety of other Sampo systems including\r\n\r\nAcademySampo,\r\n\r\nBiographySampo,\r\n\r\nBookSampo,\r\n\r\nVanhat Norssit Sampo,\r\n\r\nLetterSampo Finland (1809-1917),\r\n\r\nArtSampo,\r\n\r\nWarSampo,\r\n\r\nParliamentSampo, and\r\n\r\nOperaSampo,\r\n\r\nand various other data sources:\r\n\r\nWikidata,\r\n\r\nKANTO authority files,\r\n\r\nYSO Places,\r\n\r\nISNI,\r\n\r\nWikipedia,\r\n\r\nGeneanet and Geni genealogy services,\r\n\r\nWikiTree,\r\n\r\nULAN registry provided by Getty Research, and\r\n\r\nHISTO - Finnish history ontology.\r\n\r\nIn the SampoSampo project the Sampo series of mutually related CH LOD services and semantic portals based on the so-called Sampo model are considered. The Sampo model itself is used to establish an entity alignment LOD service on top of which a meta-level Sampo, SampoSampo, is created, based on different Sampo systems and related datasets and KGs. For searching entities globally, faceted semantic search on aligned entities is used, and for searching and discovering new connections between entities, faceted search is applied to knowledge-based relational search on explainable connections between entities, a step toward the \"Web of Wisdom\".\r\n\r\nThe SampoSampo is part of the national FIN-CLARIAH research infrastructure in Finland, and was published in 2026."

"en": "The dataset consists of self-administered written texts on experiences of loneliness. The participants wrote about their experiences with loneliness during different stages of their lives. The data was collected in collaboration with MIELI Mental Health Finland and HelsinkiMissio. The writing guidelines directed participants to write about their experiences of loneliness, the emotions elicited by those experiences, and their own relationship with loneliness. Additionally, participants were asked to write about the impact of loneliness on their lives, and how their experiences of loneliness and the feelings they associate with loneliness have changed throughout their lives. Participants were also invited to describe the ways they dealt with loneliness, how loneliness affected their health and wellbeing, and how loneliness could be prevented at a societal level. Some participants also chose to write about the difference between loneliness and being alone and experiencing loneliness while with others. Background information included the participant's gender, year of birth, occupation, and area of residence. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish.",
"fi": "Aineisto koostuu kirjoituksista, joissa kirjoittajat käsittelevät erilaisista näkökulmista kokemuksiaan yksinäisyydestä elämän eri vaiheissa. Aineiston keruun yhteistyökumppaneina on toiminut Suomen mielenterveys ry (MIELI) sekä HelsinkiMissio. Kirjoitusohjeissa vastaajia ohjeistettiin kertomaan yksinäisyydestä ja yksinäisyyden herättämistä tunteista sekä omasta suhtautumista yksinäisyyteen. Lisäksi vastaajia pyydettiin kertomaan yksinäisyyden vaikutuksista omaan elämään sekä siitä, miten yksinäisyyden tunne on mahdollisesti muuttunut elämän aikana. Myös vastaajien keinoja käsitellä yksinäisyyttä tiedusteltiin kirjoitusohjeissa. Edelleen kirjoitusohjeissa kysyttiin yksinäisyyden vaikutuksista terveyteen sekä hyvinvointiin ja sitä, miten yksinäisyyttä voisi ehkäistä yhteiskunnassa. Osassa vastauksista pohditaan myös yksin olemisen sekä yksinäisyyden eroja sekä yksinäisyyden esiintymistä muiden ihmisten seurassa. Taustatietoina on mainittu sukupuoli, syntymäaika, ammatti sekä paikkakunnat. Aineistosta on tehty html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla kirjoituksia on helppo selata."

The data were originally collected for a Master's thesis. In the writing call, respondents were asked to write in their own words and in a free-form way about their own family's alternating housing practices. However, the writer was asked to take into account the writing prompts provided in the writing call. These questions asked about the way in which a child living in the family was accommodated, the way in which the costs of the children were shared within the family and how the child's opinion was taken into account in the accommodation arrangements. Respondents were also asked to include the ages and names of the children, without mentioning who lives in your household. The background information asked included age and gender. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD.",

Aineisto on kerätty alun perin pro gradu -tutkielmaan, jonka aiheena oli vuoroasuvan lapsen asumisjärjestelyt ja vuoroasumisen kustannusten jakautuminen. Kirjoituskutsussa vastaajia pyydettiin kirjoittamaan omin sanoin ja vapaamuotoisesti oman perheen vuoroasumiskäytännöistä. Vastauksessaan kirjoittajan toivottiin kuitenkin huomioivan keruukutsussa annetut kirjoittamista ohjaavat apukysymykset. "en": "This data set is continuously collected ecological data on the breeding events of the Willow Tit (Poecile montanus) in Oulu study area in Finland from years 1969–2025 (Orell et al. 2026). Both parent birds and their offspring have been marked individually. The data contains information on the location, timing of the nests and breeding success. The data can also be used to analyze individual survival and to build pedigrees.\n\nThe study species P. montanus used to be one of the most common forest bird species in Finland but is nowadays considered endangered due to a rapid population decline. This long-term data of individually marked Willow Tits from Oulu is important for unraveling the causes of the decline and for finding ways to protect the species. \n\nThe data has been collected in a study area consisting of mostly managed forests of different forest types. The most common tree species are spruce (Picea abies), pine (Pinus sylvestris) and birches (Betula spp.). In the beginning of the study, the area contained 13 separate small sub-areas, whereas from 1986 onwards the study focused on one large study plot that has expanded to its current size 25 km2 in 1991 (Orell et al. 1999, Pakanen et al. 2016). The study population is an open population, as similar habitat types surround the study area.\n\nWillow Tits breed in natural cavities they excavate in rotten tree trunks, usually birch or other deciduous trees. The fieldwork starts every spring in early April with searching and locating the nests. Nests are monitored with routine methods to determine the first egg laying date, clutch size, hatching date and nesting success. Parents, if previously unringed, are caught and ringed with aluminium and plastic colour rings, creating individual colour codes that can later be observed with binoculars. The young are ringed with aluminium rings at the age of 13 days. Both parents and the young are measured when ringed: wing, tail and tarsus lengths, body mass and fat score (and for adult birds the sex, age and moult stage) are recorded. \n\nThis data can be used, for example, to analyse individual survival, population growth rate and related parameters (capture-mark-recapture data), effects of climate warming on the timing of breeding (timing data), individual movements and effects of surrounding habitats (nest location data), and evolutionary potential in various traits (pedigree data). \n\nNumerous students and researchers have contributed to the collection of this data set.\n\nReferences:\n\nOrell, M., Lahti, K., Koivula, K., Rytkönen, S. & Welling, P. Viime vuosikymmenien aikana kanta on vähentynyt nopeasti, ja laji luokitellaan nykyään erittäin uhanalaiseksi. Tämä yksilöllisesti merkityistä hömötiaisista kerätty pitkä aikasarja on ainutlaatuinen, koska sen avulla päästään tutkimaan myös taantumisen syitä ja etsimään keinoja lajin ja sen elinympäristöjen suojeluun.\n\nTutkimusalue on pääasiassa eri-ikäistä talousmetsää. Yleisimmät puulajit ovat kuusi (Picea abies), mänty (Pinus sylvestris) ja koivut (Betula spp.). Elinympäristöjen kirjo on laaja: kosteita kuusikoita, reheviä joen-, puron- ja ojanvarsia, lehtipuuvaltaisia ympäristöjä, kuivempia männiköitä, ojitettuja ja osin vielä luonnontilaisia korpia ja rämeitä. Alkuvuosina aineistoa kerättiin kolmellatoista kooltaan vaihtelevalla alueella. Vuodesta 1986 alkaen keskityttiin yhdelle isolle alueelle, joka vähitellen laajeni nykyiseen 25 km2:iin vuonna 1991 (Orell ym. 1999, Pakanen ym. 2016). Tutkimuspopulaatio on avoin ja samanlaiset elinympäristöt jatkuvat alueen ulkopuolella.\n\nTutkimusalueen hömötiaiset pesivät lähes yksinomaan luonnonkoloissa, joita emolinnut kaivavat tavallisimmin lahoihin koivuihin tai muihin lehtipuihin. Maastotyö käynnistyy joka kevät huhtikuun alussa pesien etsinnällä ja niiden paikantamisella. Pesintää seurataan ja aineistoa kerätään rutiinimenetelmin käymällä pesillä riittävän usein ennen muninnan alkamista aina poikasten pesästä lähtemiseen saakka. Aineiston keskeisiä tunnuslukuja ovat ensimmäisen munan munintapäivä, pesyekoko eli haudottava munamäärä, poikasten kuoriutumispäivä ja pesinnän onnistuminen. Mikäli emolintua ei ole aiemmin rengastettu, se pyydystetään ja rengastetaan numeroidulla alumiinirenkaalla, jonka lisäksi se saa yhdestä kolmeen värillistä muovirengasta. Käyttämällä erilaisia alumiini- ja muovirenkaiden yhdistelmiä voidaan muodostaa yksilöllisiä värikoodeja, joiden perusteella linnut voi tunnistaa kiikaroimalla. Pesäpoikaset saavat yksilöllisesti numeroidun alumiinirenkaan ollessaan 13 vrk:n ikäisiä. Rengastettaessa emoilta ja poikasilta mitataan siiven, pyrstön ja nilkan pituus. Lisäksi ne punnitaan ja näkyvän rasvan määrä arvioidaan. Emojen sukupuoli ja ikä sekä mahdollinen sulkasato rekisteröidään rengastuksen yhteydessä. \n\nAineistoa voidaan käyttää esimerkiksi analysoitaessa yksilöiden selviytyvyyttä pesintäkausien välillä ja tutkittaessa populaation kasvukertoimen vaihtelua (merkintä-takaisinpyyntimenetelmät). Aineistolla voidaan tutkia myös ilmastonmuutoksen merkitystä pesinnälle ja analysoida eri ominaisuuksien evolutiivista potentiaalia (sukupuuaineisto). Pesien paikkatietoja käyttämällä voidaan tunnistaa hömötiaisen elinympäristövaatimuksia. It is possible that immigrant females are more prone to invest in progeny that effectively disperse further to search for new vacancies. The conditions prevailing during nestling growth may be crucial in determining whether an individual will later become a resident or leave the natal area, but the genetic component of this trait should also be considered. "en": "This data set is continuously collected ecological data on the breeding events of the Willow Tit (Poecile montanus) in Oulu study area in Finland from years 1969–2025 (Orell et al. 2026). Both parent birds and their offspring have been marked individually. The data contains information on the location, timing of the nests and breeding success. The data can also be used to analyze individual survival and to build pedigrees.\n\nThe study species P. montanus used to be one of the most common forest bird species in Finland but is nowadays considered endangered due to a rapid population decline. This long-term data of individually marked Willow Tits from Oulu is important for unraveling the causes of the decline and for finding ways to protect the species. \n\nThe data has been collected in a study area consisting of mostly managed forests of different forest types. The most common tree species are spruce (Picea abies), pine (Pinus sylvestris) and birches (Betula spp.). In the beginning of the study, the area contained 13 separate small sub-areas, whereas from 1986 onwards the study focused on one large study plot that has expanded to its current size 25 km2 in 1991 (Orell et al. 1999, Pakanen et al. 2016). The study population is an open population, as similar habitat types surround the study area.\n\nWillow Tits breed in natural cavities they excavate in rotten tree trunks, usually birch or other deciduous trees. The fieldwork starts every spring in early April with searching and locating the nests. Nests are monitored with routine methods to determine the first egg laying date, clutch size, hatching date and nesting success. Parents, if previously unringed, are caught and ringed with aluminium and plastic colour rings, creating individual colour codes that can later be observed with binoculars. The young are ringed with aluminium rings at the age of 13 days. Both parents and the young are measured when ringed: wing, tail and tarsus lengths, body mass and fat score (and for adult birds the sex, age and moult stage) are recorded. \n\nThis data can be used, for example, to analyse individual survival, population growth rate and related parameters (capture-mark-recapture data), effects of climate warming on the timing of breeding (timing data), individual movements and effects of surrounding habitats (nest location data), and evolutionary potential in various traits (pedigree data). \n\nNumerous students and researchers have contributed to the collection of this data set.\n\nReferences:\n\nOrell, M., Lahti, K., Koivula, K., Rytkönen, S. & Welling, P. Viime vuosikymmenien aikana kanta on vähentynyt nopeasti, ja laji luokitellaan nykyään erittäin uhanalaiseksi. Tämä yksilöllisesti merkityistä hömötiaisista kerätty pitkä aikasarja on ainutlaatuinen, koska sen avulla päästään tutkimaan myös taantumisen syitä ja etsimään keinoja lajin ja sen elinympäristöjen suojeluun.\n\nTutkimusalue on pääasiassa eri-ikäistä talousmetsää. Yleisimmät puulajit ovat kuusi (Picea abies), mänty (Pinus sylvestris) ja koivut (Betula spp.). Elinympäristöjen kirjo on laaja: kosteita kuusikoita, reheviä joen-, puron- ja ojanvarsia, lehtipuuvaltaisia ympäristöjä, kuivempia männiköitä, ojitettuja ja osin vielä luonnontilaisia korpia ja rämeitä. Alkuvuosina aineistoa kerättiin kolmellatoista kooltaan vaihtelevalla alueella. Vuodesta 1986 alkaen keskityttiin yhdelle isolle alueelle, joka vähitellen laajeni nykyiseen 25 km2:iin vuonna 1991 (Orell ym. 1999, Pakanen ym. 2016). Tutkimuspopulaatio on avoin ja samanlaiset elinympäristöt jatkuvat alueen ulkopuolella.\n\nTutkimusalueen hömötiaiset pesivät lähes yksinomaan luonnonkoloissa, joita emolinnut kaivavat tavallisimmin lahoihin koivuihin tai muihin lehtipuihin. Maastotyö käynnistyy joka kevät huhtikuun alussa pesien etsinnällä ja niiden paikantamisella. Pesintää seurataan ja aineistoa kerätään rutiinimenetelmin käymällä pesillä riittävän usein ennen muninnan alkamista aina poikasten pesästä lähtemiseen saakka. Aineiston keskeisiä tunnuslukuja ovat ensimmäisen munan munintapäivä, pesyekoko eli haudottava munamäärä, poikasten kuoriutumispäivä ja pesinnän onnistuminen. Mikäli emolintua ei ole aiemmin rengastettu, se pyydystetään ja rengastetaan numeroidulla alumiinirenkaalla, jonka lisäksi se saa yhdestä kolmeen värillistä muovirengasta. Käyttämällä erilaisia alumiini- ja muovirenkaiden yhdistelmiä voidaan muodostaa yksilöllisiä värikoodeja, joiden perusteella linnut voi tunnistaa kiikaroimalla. Pesäpoikaset saavat yksilöllisesti numeroidun alumiinirenkaan ollessaan 13 vrk:n ikäisiä. Rengastettaessa emoilta ja poikasilta mitataan siiven, pyrstön ja nilkan pituus. Lisäksi ne punnitaan ja näkyvän rasvan määrä arvioidaan. Emojen sukupuoli ja ikä sekä mahdollinen sulkasato rekisteröidään rengastuksen yhteydessä. \n\nAineistoa voidaan käyttää esimerkiksi analysoitaessa yksilöiden selviytyvyyttä pesintäkausien välillä ja tutkittaessa populaation kasvukertoimen vaihtelua (merkintä-takaisinpyyntimenetelmät). Aineistolla voidaan tutkia myös ilmastonmuutoksen merkitystä pesinnälle ja analysoida eri ominaisuuksien evolutiivista potentiaalia (sukupuuaineisto). Pesien paikkatietoja käyttämällä voidaan tunnistaa hömötiaisen elinympäristövaatimuksia. The effect of status on reproductive success was significant only for females: immigrants produced larger clutches and hatched more young in all age classes studied. However, the difference between the groups diminished until fledging and the offspring produced by the immigrant females showed lower local survival rate (4.6% of the young) than did those by the residents (5.9%). Therefore, the contribution of immigrant females to the local gene pool was lower than expected on the basis of immigration rate. However, we propose that the result implies differential propensities to long-distance dispersal rather than overall survival prospects, since we detected no quality differences suggesting reduced survival chances among descendants of immigrant females. Therefore, gene flow into the population was slightly lower than immigration rate. It is possible that immigrant females are more prone to invest in progeny that effectively disperse further to search for new vacancies. The conditions prevailing during nestling growth may be crucial in determining whether an individual will later become a resident or leave the natal area, but the genetic component of this trait should also be considered. We suggest that widespread propagules is a better strategy than philopatry for a short-lived species to minimize the risk of losing all descendants in temporally and spatially varying conditions.</jats:p>",

"en": "The data consists of writings by university students and recent graduates about their experiences of imposter syndrome. The purpose of the collection of writings was to gain insight into how early career graduates perceive the imposter syndrome to have affected them. Writings were expected from graduates who were in the final stages of their studies and had already been employed in their field, as well as from graduates who were in employment and had graduated up to three years earlier. They were free to write about their own experiences in a completely informal way. The invitation to write also included a number of questions to help with the writing process. Background information are classified by gender, age and educational background. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD.",
"fi": "Aineisto koostuu kirjoituksista, joissa korkeakouluopiskelijat ja hiljattain korkeakoulusta valmistuneet kertovat kokemuksistaan liittyen huijaussyndroomaan. Kirjoituskeruun tarkoituksena oli saada tietoa siitä, kuinka työuransa alussa olevat korkeakoulutetut kokevat huijarisyndrooman vaikuttaneen heihin. Kirjoituksia toivottiin korkeakouluopiskelijoilta, jotka olivat opinnoissaan loppusuoralla ja olivat jo olleet alansa töissä, sekä työelämässä olevilta, enintään kolme vuotta aiemmin valmistuneilta korkeakoulutetuilta. Omista kokemuksista sai kirjoittaa täysin vapaamuotoisesti. Kirjoituskutsussa kirjoittamisen avuksi annettiin myös muutamia kirjoittamista helpottavia apukysymyksiä. Taustatietoina aineistossa on sukupuoli, ikä ja koulutusala. Aineistosta on tehty html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla kirjoituksia on helppo selata."

"en": "This dataset consists of 12 texts written by social research students at Tampere University on their voting behaviour and the formation of their political opinions. The data were originally collected for a Bachelor's thesis. In the writing guidelines, the respondents were presented with questions to help guide their writing. The questions prompted the students to describe, for instance, the political topics they usually discussed with their fellow students and the kind of effect these conversations had had on their political opinions and voting behaviour. Additionally, the students were asked to describe how strong their own political party preference had been before starting their studies and whether their studies had affected their preference. The guidelines also instructed the students to write about the influence of their childhood home environment on their political ideology and behaviour. Background information included the respondent's gender, age group and voting behaviour during the previous parliamentary elections. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish.",
"fi": "Aineisto koostuu Tampereen yliopiston yhteiskuntatutkimuksen opiskelijoiden kirjoituksista liittyen heidän oman poliittisen mielipiteensä muodostumiseen ja äänestyskäyttäytymiseen. Aineisto on kerätty alun perin opinnäytetyöhön. Kirjoitusohjeissa vastaajille annettiin kirjoittamista ohjaavia apukysymyksiä. Apukysymyksissä pyydettiin kirjoittamaan mm. siitä, millaisista poliittisista aiheista vastaaja yleensä keskustelee opiskelijaystäviensä kanssa, sekä millaisia vaikutuksia keskusteluilla on ollut vastaajaan ja hänen mielipiteisiinsä. Ohjaavissa kysymyksissä kysyttiin myös sitä, oliko vastaajalla vahva puoluekanta ennen opintojen aloittamista, sekä miten opiskelukaverien näkemykset ovat mahdollisesti vaikuttaneet vastaajan omaan äänestyskäyttäytymiseen. Kirjoittajia ohjeistettiin kirjoittamaan myös esimerkiksi siitä, millä tavoin he kokevat opintojen vaikuttaneen oman poliittisen mielipiteen muodostumiseen. Lisäksi apukysymyksissä pyydettiin pohtimaan myös lapsuuden kodin vaikutusta omiin poliittisiin näkemyksiin. Taustatietona on kysytty sukupuolta, ikäryhmää ja äänestyskäyttäytymistä edellisissä eduskuntavaaleissa. Aineistosta on tehty jatkokäyttäjälle html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla kirjoituksia on helppo selata."
