Kysely kerättiin osana pro gradu -tutkielmaa, jossa selvitettiin koetun motivaatioilmaston yhteyttä sosiaaliseen vertailuun urheilijoiden parissa. Kyselyssä tarkasteltiin ensin sosiaalista vertailua harjoitusryhmän tai joukkueen jäsenten välillä. Kysymyksissä selvitettiin esimerkiksi, kuinka paljon vastaajat kiinnittävät huomiota muiden urheilijoiden suorituksiin ja arvioivat omaa suoriutumistaan suhteessa muihin ryhmän jäseniin. Tämän jälkeen kartoitettiin harjoitusryhmän tai joukkueen motivaatioilmastoa. Vastaajia pyydettiin arvioimaan muun muassa sitä, kannustavatko urheilijat toisiaan oppimaan ja kehittymään sekä arvostetaanko ryhmässä yrittämistä ja henkilökohtaista kehitystä. Lisäksi kysyttiin valmentajan toiminnasta, kuten siitä, suosiiko valmentaja tiettyjä urheilijoita, kiinnittääkö hän muita enemmän huomiota parhaisiin urheilijoihin tai kannustetaanko urheilijoita kilpailemaan keskenään. Taustamuuttujia aineistossa ovat ikä, sukupuoli ja urheilulajin tyyppi (yksilö- tai joukkuelaji)."

"en": "The dataset contains analysis results of the all-sky cameras (ASC) operated by the Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory (SGO), University of Oulu.\n\nThe SGO emCCD camera has operated in Abisko (ABK, 68.36°N, 18.81°E, Sweden) and SGO iCCD camera in Sodankylä (SOD, 67.37°N, 26.63°E, Finland) . Both all sky cameras are built by Keo Scientific Ltd., Canada. Original all-sky camera images are archived by SGO and shared to MIRACLE all-sky-camera database hosted by Finnish Meteorological Institute. For more details see: https://www.sgo.fi/Data/Optical/ and https://space.fmi.fi/MIRACLE/ASC/index.php.\n\nThe present dataset includes analysed raw images obtained at the wavelength of 557.7 nm (green spectral line of aurora). The SOD images are captured with iCCD camera based system with software controlled filter selection to jpg format. The ABK raw images are captured with emCCD camera based system with software controlled filter to png format. ABK (emCCD) raw images are 14-bit depth in PNG-format, when the SOD (iCCD) images are 8-bit depth in JPG-format. The image size used for the analysis is 512x512 pixels.\n\nBoth cameras were normally operated in synoptic mode, where SOD iCCD took three 557.7nm images per minute (nominally at seconds 00,20,40) and ABK emCCD camera 10 images with 557.7nm filter per minute (nominally at seconds 00,05,10,20,25,30,40,45,50,55) when the Sun elevation is 10 degrees below horizon. In this data set we considered only to raw images taken every 10th minute starting on the hour, i.e., only one out of 30 (SOD) or one out of 100 (ABK) images have been investigated. Only images containing auroral arcs were further analysed and saved in monthly folders /Abisko/ABK_arc_images/ABKyyyymm/ as PNG images ABKyyyymmddHHMMSS.png for Abisko and /Sodankyla/SOD_arc_images/SODyyyymm/SODyyyymmddHHMMSS.png for Sodankylä. In each such image, we have selected one arc having a sharp lower edge and located closer to the ASC zenith. Then, at least 5 points were manually with visual inspection set along the lower edge of the arc farthest from the zenith pixel. The coordinates (i.e., numbers of pixels along the horizontal and vertical directions) of each points are stored in daily ASCII files (ABK_arc_yymmdd or SOD_arc_yymmdd) in yearly folders ABK_arcs_yyyy and SOD_arcs_yyyy in ABK_data_ascii and SOD_data_ascii. \nMATLAB codes allsky_abk_angle.m and allsky_sod_angle.m allow mapping the points on the Earth surface and calculating the angle between an arc and geographic latitude and the distance from the ASC. The files have orientation calibration information of the both operated cameras over the analysis period."

"en": "This is subset of the data from MIRACLE iCCD all-sky imagers operated by Finnish Meteorological Institute (FMI) and Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory (SGO), University of Oulu. This subset includes 142 events with wave like aurora forms from FMI's internal Selected ASC data set collected from the MIRACLE database.\n\nThe original images have been captures with a fish-eye lens. They have been stored in 8-bit gray-scale JPG format, have a size of 512 × 512 pixels, corresponding to an average spatial resolution of approximately 1 km near the zenith at an ionospheric height of 110 km. The images captured with 557.7nm narrow-band filter with a cadence of approximately 20 seconds . Observations were collected from five stations: Abisko (ABK) at geographic latitude 68.36°N and geographic longitude 18.82°E, Muonio (MUO) at 68.02°N 23.53°E, Kevo (KEV) at 69.76°N 27.01°E, Kilpisjärvi (KIL) 69.02°N and 20.87°E, and Sodankylä (SOD) 67.42°N 26.39°E. \n\nThe iCCD imagers at Kilpisjärvi, Kevo, Abisko and Muonio were owned and operated by Finnish Meteorological Institute. \nThe iCCD imager at Sodankylä was owned and operated by Sodankylä Geophysical Observatory, University of Oulu. \n\nThe image orientation calibrations are made at FMI. Anup Shrestha, Josias Láng-Ritter, Dipesh Chapagain, Maija Taka, Olli Varis. To appear in International Journal of Disaster Risk Reduction, 2026.\r\nRepository contents:\r\nData:\r\n\r\nThe excel files (2011_indicators.xlsx and 2021_indicators.xlsx) contain the indicator datasets used as input for the PCA for 2011 and 2021.\r\nCode:\r\n\r\n PCA.ipynb - performs Principal Component Ananlysis (PCA) using both: A) a joint approach (2011 and 2021 combined), and B) Year-wise approach for 2011 and 2021 separately\r\n Indices.ipynb - calculates Social Vulnerability Index (SOVI) and its component indices (Sensitivity and Adaptive Capacity) for both the joint and year-wise approaches. \r\n Indices_change.ipynb - calculates the change in SOVI, sensitivity, and adaptive Capacity between 2011 and 2021 and categorise the shifts in vulnerability components to three vulnerability transition pathways as presented in the results of the article.\r\n Aggregated_indices.ipynb - calculates the population-weighted indices for SOVI, sensitivity, and adaptive capacity at provincial and national scale. \r\n\r\nOutput: \r\n\r\nThe resulting indices (2011_indices.xlsx and 2021_indices.xlsx) are in the excel format for 2011 and 2021.\r\nShapefile: \r\n\r\nThe shapefile of the Nepal according to new administrative units is in the zip file (nepal_admin.zip).\r\nNote for plotting:\r\n\r\nSome municipalities in Nepal share the same name but are located in different districts. To avoid ambiguity and ensure correct matching between the index outputs and the spatial data, we created a unique identifier by combining the district and municipality names.\r\n\r\nFor example, the municipality Aatharai Gaunpalika in Taplejung District is represented as Taplejung_Aatharai Gaunpalika in the \"combined\" column of all datasets, outputs, and code.\r\n\r\nBefore creating maps, the same combined identifier should be generated in the shapefile attribute table by concatenating the district and municipality names using the same format. "en": "This dataset comprises multimodal data collected from seven adult participants who interacted with a humanoid robot developed at the Humanoid Robot Laboratory (HRL), University of Oulu, Finland. The robot that was used was Unitree G1-EDU (https://support.unitree.com/home/en/G1_developer) with HRL developed software, using Faster-Whisper speech-to-text and Piper text-to-speech software and gemma4:26b large language model. This pilot study examined which data is relevant to collect for human-physical AI interaction research, and how individuals engage in a naturally occurring human-physical AI interaction scenario.\n\nIn the scenario, the participants were required to retrieve a postal package from the humanoid robot. The robot was standing behind the service desk. The postal package was on the table behind the robot. The participants were informed that the robot would operate autonomously when possible, and a human operator would intervene remotely when required. In practice, the robot listened and replied of its own accord, while the packet delivery action was executed by the operator once the dialogue reached the appropriate point. Rather than receiving detailed instructions on how to accomplish the task, participants were provided only with a package arrival notification and were asked to obtain the package. This open-ended design enabled the observation of participants’ spontaneous problem-solving strategies, communication behaviours, and interaction patterns while engaging with a humanoid robot capable of understanding and producing natural language, locating the requested package, and handing it over to the participant.\n\nData collection combined multiple modalities to capture behavioural, physiological, and experiential aspects of the human-robot interaction. The interaction sessions were recorded using synchronized video and audio. Video was captured with 3 PTZOptics NDI cameras and audio with a Shure MXA310 array microphone, enabling detailed analysis of verbal and non-verbal communication between participants and the robot. In addition, physiological measurements were collected from sub-sample of participants throughout the interaction using a BIOPAC MP200 system with wireless BioNomadix sensors, including electrodermal activity (EDA) and heart rate, providing information on participants' physiological responses during the task. All data streams were time-aligned using the Lab Streaming Layer (LSL) protocol. Physiological responses were measured from five out of seven participants.\n\nPrior to the interaction, participants completed a background questionnaire that gathered demographic information, previous experience with digital technologies and robots, and attitudes towards robots. The questionnaire was largely based on the General Attitudes Towards Robots Scale (GAToRS) developed in the University of Helsinki (http://hdl.handle.net/10138/349665) Following the human-robot interaction task, all participants took part in a semi-structured interview lasting approximately 30 minutes. The interviews explored participants’ experiences of interacting with the humanoid robot, perceptions of the robot’s communication and interaction style, and the personal and societal meanings they associated with robots and human-robot interaction. Critical Incident Technique (https://www.koji.so/docs/critical-incident-technique) was used in the interviews when possible."

"en": "This dataset contains the IDA Indoor Climate and Energy (IDA ICE) simulation models used in the research article \"Benchmarking Danish, Estonian and Finnish NZEB requirements with European Commission recommendations in residential and office buildings.\" The models represent three distinct building types: a new office building, an apartment building, and a single-family house. Each building was initially designed to comply with the respective national Nearly Zero-Energy Building (NZEB) requirements of Denmark, Estonia, or Finland. The primary purpose of these models was to systematically compare NZEB requirements and energy calculation methodologies across these three countries and against European Commission (EC) recommendations (EU 2016/1318). The simulations accounted for varying climatic conditions (using country-specific Test Reference Years and climate-corrected U-values based on heating-degree-days), national calculation methods, and standardized EN 16798-1:2019 input data. The models facilitate detailed dynamic simulations to analyze energy balance, primary energy (PE) consumption, and the impact of different Primary Energy Factors (PEFs). They were used to benchmark national NZEB performance levels, assess alignment with EC NZEB PE thresholds for Nordic and Oceanic climates, and investigate the influence of methodological discrepancies on building energy performance outcomes. The dataset supports the reproducibility of the study's findings and allows for further investigation into NZEB strategies in these regions."

"fi": "This paper explores the experiences of solar energy consumers at Natore District of Bangladesh. The research questions of the study are (i) What are the benefits and challenges of using solar energy in Natore District?; (ii) How do environmental variations impact consumers’ experiences of using solar energy in Natore District?; and (iii) How do government agencies’ decisions influence consumers’ choices of solar energy usage in Natore District? The research is carried out as a mixed-method study with sample survey of 120 participants and 8 in-depth interviews. A confirmatory factor analysis was performed for the quantitative part whereas a thematic content analysis was performed in the qualitative part. The factors and themes were predefined based on the factors identified in the theory of Diffusion of Innovation by Everett M. Rogers [1]: Relative advantage, Compatibility, Complexity, Trialability and Observability. Results and findings of the study show the user experiences and adoption of SHS based on the themes and impact of government’s initiatives and policies. The results and findings from quantitative and qualitative data confirmed successful triangulation."

Aineisto sisältää kysymyksiä myös kansalaisaloitteesta, Suomen tulevaisuuden näkymistä ja vaikuttamisen erilaisista tavoista. Yliotoksen ruotsinkielisestä väestöstä sisältävä aineisto on kerätty kolmella kyselylomakkeella, joista vastaajat vastasivat vain yhteen. Vaikka lomakkeet painottavat eri teemoja, on niiden välillä myös päällekkäisyyttä. Tiettyjä asioita - kuten äänestämistä vuoden 2023 eduskuntavaaleissa, puoluevalintaa ja luottamusta - kysyttiin jokaisella lomakkeella. Ensimmäinen lomake sisältää Suomen osuuden kansainvälisestä CSES-hankkeesta (6-moduuli). Survey-muuttuja sisältää tiedon, mihin lomakkeeseen vastaaja vastasi. Aineistonkeruun rahoitti oikeusministeriö. Ensimmäisen lomakkeen teemoina olivat poliittinen kiinnostus, mediaseuranta, tyytyväisyys poliittiseen järjestelmään, taloudellinen tilanne, puoluepreferenssit, poliittiset arvo-orientaatiot sekä puolueläheisyys. Tiedusteltiin, minkä verran vastaaja seurasi eduskuntavaaleja eri lähteistä, kuinka usein hän keskustelee politiikasta muiden ihmisten kanssa sekä viettää aikaa internetissä ja sosiaalisessa mediassa. Asenneväittämin kartoitettiin vastaajan mielipiteitä äänestämisestä, demokratiasta, päätöksenteosta ja puolueista. Tyytyväisyyttä poliittisen järjestelmään kartoitettiin kysymällä, kuinka paljon vastaaja luottaa eri tahoihin, kuten presidenttiin, puolueisiin, eduskuntaan, hallitukseen, oikeuslaitokseen ja tiedotusvälineisiin. Tiedusteltiin myös Marinin hallituksen onnistumisista. Lisäksi vastaajat arvioivat Suomen ja omaa taloudellista tilannetta viimeisten ja seuraavien 12 kuukauden aikana. Edelleen kysyttiin äänestämisestä eduskuntavaaleissa. Vastaajilta kysyttiin mielipiteitä suomalaisista puolueista ja niiden puheenjohtajista. Heitä pyydettiin myös asettamaan puolueet vasemmisto-oikeisto-akselille. Lisäksi vastaajat sijoittivat itsensä vasemmisto-oikeisto-akselille sekä arvoliberaali-arvokonservatiivi-asteikolle. Lisäksi kysyttiin demokratian toimivuudesta Suomessa sekä koronaviruspandemian vaikutuksista esimerkiksi Suomen yhtenäisyyteen. Toisella lomakkeella selvitettiin vastaajien poliittista kiinnostusta, mediaseurantaa, yhteiskunnallista ja poliittista osallistumista, luottamusta, ehdokas- ja puoluevalintaa, poliittista tietämystä sekä poliittisia arvoja ja asenteita. Tiedusteltiin, minkä verran vastaaja sai äänestyspäätöksen kannalta tärkeää tietoa eri lähteistä. Asenneväittämin kartoitettiin vastaajan näkemyksiä esimerkiksi politiikkaan osallistumisesta ja kansalaispätevyydestä. Vastaajat erittelivät yhteiskunnallisen osallistumisensa muotoja, esimerkiksi ovatko he allekirjoittaneet kansalaisaloitteen tai osallistuneet poliittisen puolueen tai muun yhteiskunnallisen järjestön toimintaan. Edelleen kysyttiin, voiko ihmisiin luottaa. Mikäli vastaaja ei äänestänyt vuoden 2023 eduskuntavaaleissa, häneltä kysyttiin tarkempia syitä päätökseen jättää äänestämättä. Vaaleissa äänestäneiltä kysyttiin tarkemmin mitä puoluetta ja ketä ehdokasta vastaaja äänesti. He kertoivat myös, mitkä asiat vaikuttivat ehdokkaan ja puolueen valintaan. Vastaajien poliittista tietotasoa mitattiin muutamalla kysymyksellä. Suomen tulevaisuuden suuntaa kartoitettiin asenneväittämillä esimerkiksi monikulttuurisuudesta, kristillisistä arvoista, ilmastonmuutoksen torjunnasta, valtion säätelystä ja verotuksesta. Kolmannen lomakkeen teemoina olivat poliittinen kiinnostus ja luottamus, poliittinen tietämys, arvo-orientaatiot, puolueläheisyys sekä poliittiset arvot ja asenteet. Vastaajat luettelivat kolme tärkeintä yhteiskunnallista ongelmaa, joita poliitikkojen tulisi hoitaa. Asenneväittämin kartoitettiin vastaajien näkemyksiä ajankohtaisista poliittisista kysymyksistä kuten Venäjän turvallisuuspoliittisesta uhasta, työehtojen paikallisesta sopimisesta, julkisten palveluiden leikkaamisesta ja metsähakkuista. Taustatietoja aineistossa ovat vastaajan syntymävuosi, sukupuoli, koulutusaste, siviilisääty, ammattiliittoon kuuluminen, puoluejäsenyys, elämäntilanne, ammatti ja ammattiryhmä, työskentelysektori, yhteiskuntaluokka, uskonnollisuus, uskonnolliseen yhteisöön kuuluminen, äidinkieli, kotikieli, syntymämaa (luokiteltu), asuinpaikkakuntatyyppi, vaalipiiri, kotitalouden yhteenlasketut vuositulot, kotitalouden henkilömäärä ja lasten määrä, puolison ammattiryhmä, äidin ja isän syntymämaa (luokiteltu) sekä vanhempien puoluekannatus.",
"en": "This survey focused on the 2023 parliamentary elections in Finland. Main themes included political participation, political attitudes, party allegiance, candidate and party choice, and voting behaviour. Further topics included citizens' initiative, different ways of having a say in matters, and future prospects of Finland. Swedish-speaking population is over-represented in the data. The data were collected after the elections through three questionnaires, with each respondent answering only one of them. Although the questionnaires focus on different themes, there is also overlap between them. Certain issues - such as voting in the 2023 parliamentary elections, party choice and trust - were asked in each questionnaire. The first questionnaire (quF3875_1) contains Finland's contribution to the international CSES study (module 6). Data collection was funded by the Ministry of Justice. The first questionnaire covered the respondents' interest in politics, attention paid to media coverage of the elections (including social media), satisfaction with the political system, economic situation, party preferences, political value orientations, discussions about politics with others, party identification and whether the respondents felt close to any party. The respondents' opinions on voting, democracy, decision-making and parties were surveyed. Satisfaction with the political system was charted by asking how much the respondent trusts various institutions, such as the president, political parties, parliament, government, the judiciary and the media. They were also asked about the successes of the cabinet led by prime minister Sanna Marin. The respondents' perceptions of their own financial situation and the Finnish economy were also charted. Further questions were asked about voting in the parliamentary elections. The respondents were asked about their opinions on Finnish parties and their chairs. They were also asked to place the parties on the left-right axis. In addition, the respondents placed themselves on the left-right axis and on the liberal-conservative scale. The respondents were asked about the functioning of democracy in Finland and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on, for example, Finland's unity. The second questionnaire charted the respondents' interest in politics, attention paid to media coverage of the elections (including social media), social and political participation, trust, candidate and party choice, political knowledge, and political values and attitudes. The sources from which the respondents got relevant information for their voting choice were examined (e.g. family or friends, newspapers, TV, social media). The respondent's views on issues such as participation in politics and civic competence were surveyed. The respondents specified the forms of their social participation, such as whether they signed any citizens' initiatives or participated in political party or other civic organization activities. They were also asked whether people could be trusted. Non-voters were asked why they had not voted. Those who voted in the elections were asked in more detail which party and which candidate the respondent voted for. Finland's future direction was charted with attitudinal statements concerning, for example, multiculturalism, Christian values, climate change, state regulation and taxation. The third questionnaire covered the respondents' interest in politics, trust, political knowledge, value orientations, political values and attitudes and whether the respondents felt close to any party. The respondents listed the three most important social problems that politicians should address. The respondents' opinions on current political issues such as the security threat from Russia, local agreement on terms and conditions of employment, cuts in public services and forest fellings were surveyd. Background variables included, among others, the respondent's year of birth, gender, education, marital status, trade union membership, political party membership, economic activity and occupational status, employer type, religiosity and religious attendance, mother tongue, type of municipality of residence, gross annual household income, number of people in the household, number of children, country of birth, parents' country of birth (categorised), and electoral district."

Lisäksi selvitettiin terveyteen, terveyskäyttäytymiseen ja opiskelukykyyn liittyviä tekijöitä, kuten sosiaalisia suhteita, opiskelua ja toimeentuloa. Kysely on osa KOTT-aineistosarjaa, joka toistuu noin neljän vuoden välein. Tämä kysely toteutettiin helmi-maaliskuussa 2021 koronapandemian aikana. Tutkimushanketta rahoittaa Kansaneläkelaitos, opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriö sekä Terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin laitos. Kysymykset käsittelivät terveydentilaa, mm. lääkärin toteamia sairauksia, oppimisvaikeuksia, henkistä hyvinvointia, oireita, ehkäisyä, ruokailutottumuksia ja suhtautumista ruokaan. Lisäksi kysyttiin, millaisia tunteita vastaajat olivat kokeneet viikon aikana ja kysyttiin, miten hyvin vastaajat olivat keskittymään ja suoriutumaan tehtävistään sekä olivatko he tunteneet itsensä hyödyllisiksi. Terveyspalveluita tutkittiin kysymällä, mitä terveyspalveluja oli käytetty, miltä palveluntarjoajilta ne oli hankittu ja miksi. Liikuntatottumuksia kartoitettiin kysymällä hyöty- ja kuntoliikuntaan käytettyä aikaa sekä tiedusteltiin, kuinka paljon vastaajat keskimäärin istuivat arkipäivinä. Lisäksi kysyttiin, kenen järjestämään liikuntatoimintaan vastaajat osallistuivat. Ravintoa käsittelevissä kysymyksissä tiedusteltiin, ajattelivatko vastaajat ruokaa hankkiessaan sen terveellisyyttä ja kuinka usein he söivät lounaan opiskelijaravintolassa opiskeluviikon aikana. Kysymyksiä esitettiin myös suunterveydestä, päihteiden käytöstä, rahapelaamisesta, perhesuunnittelusta, kiusaamisesta sekä internetin käytöstä. Kyselyssä on käytetty kansainvälisesti tunnettuja mittareita, joihin perustuvat indikaattorimuuttujat tunnistat aineistossa muuttujan selitteestä löytyvästä lyhenteestä. "en": "This national survey examined the health and health-related behaviour of university and university of applied sciences (polytechnic) students in Finland. Questions covered, among other topics, physical, mental and dental health, health-related behaviour, use of health services, and satisfaction with health services. Factors related to the ability to study and well-being, such as social relationships and income, were also examined. The survey also included questions on the COVID-19 pandemic, ongoing at the time. The study was funded by the Social Insurance Institution, the Ministry of Education and Culture, and the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. General state of health was charted with a number of questions relating to long-term illnesses, disabilities or disorders, and current well-being in general. The respondents were asked if they had suffered from a variety of symptoms in the previous 12 months. Birth control methods used by the respondent and her/his partner within the previous 12 months were surveyed. Some questions covered the respondents' weight, height, and attitude toward food. Psychological or social symptoms causing problems were investigated. Psychosocial health was further studied using items of the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ-12). Use of healthcare services by different types of service providers and satisfaction with the services of the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS) were surveyed, along with reasons for using the services of other healthcare service providers. Time spent sitting during the day as well as engagement in sporting activities and less vigorous physical activities were surveyed. Eating habits were investigated with a number of questions, for instance, asking whether the respondents ate at student restaurants, what diet they followed, on how many days per week they ate certain meals or snacks (e.g. breakfast, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner), and the consumption of fruit and vegetables. The respondents were also asked how often they brushed or flossed their teeth and used toothpaste or xylitol products, and whether they had problems with teeth grinding, facial pain or jaw locking. Health-related behaviour was further studied by asking the respondents about their use of drugs, alcohol and tobacco products (amount, frequency), as well as internet use and gambling. Drinking habits were further charted using the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT). Internet use was examined with questions regarding the purposes for which respondents used the internet, and if it had caused problems with their circadian rhythm, studying or relationships. Questions also covered gambling and possible problems caused by it. The survey also studied interpersonal relationships and financial circumstances. The respondents were asked about their household composition and living arrangements, partnerships, sexual orientation, use of contraception, bullying experienced during university studies, whether they felt lonely or part of a group, and whether they had someone close to them with whom they could discuss their affairs. The respondents were asked to evaluate their financial situation and how well they had managed financially over the previous 12 months. The respondents' participation in paid work during the academic year was also surveyed, and they were asked how working had affected their studies. Views on family life were examined with questions on whether the respondents would like to have children in the future and when, and if not at the moment, why (e.g. their studies not being finished, being too young, financial situation, wanting to pursue a career). Those respondents who already had children were asked about how having a child had impacted their life (e.g. improvement in relationship with spouse, financial situation worsened, progressing with studies became harder). The impact of the COVID-19 epidemic was surveyed with questions on how the epidemic or the subsequent restrictive measures had affected the respondents' studies, whether the pandemic had negatively affected the respondents' financial situation, and whether the pandemic or the subsequent restrictive measures had affected certain areas of the respondents' everyday lives (e.g. substance use, sleeping difficulties, keeping in touch with friends and relatives, contact with fellow students, feeling optimistic about the future). Indicator variables created by the Finnish Institute of Health and Welfare and based on some original survey variables are included in the data. "en": "The data consist of tales and stories told by children that were collected in different cities in Finland by using the storycrafting method. The data include stories elicited from both individual children and groups. The stories originate from several countries, and the children were allowed to tell the stories in their mother tongue. Some of the foreign language stories were later translated either into Finnish or into multiple different languages, and both the original story and the translations are included in the data. Some of the stories include comments and observations from the person who collected the data. Background variables included, among others, country of origin of the tale/story, language used to tell the story, location and date of data collection, and the age and gender of the child who told the story. The dataset is only available in the original languages (the languages used to tell the stories and possible translations)."

"fi": "Tämä englanninkielinen yhdistelmäaineisto koostuu vuosien 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015 ja 2019 eduskuntavaalien jälkeen kerättyjen aineistojen harmonisoiduista muuttujista. Yhdistetyt aineistot FSD1260, FSD2269, FSD2653, FSD3067 ja FSD3467 ovat osa Kansalliset eduskuntavaalitutkimukset -sarjaa ja niiden käyntikyselyosuudet muodostavat Suomen osuuden kansainvälisestä CSES-hankkeesta. Yhdistelmäaineiston harmonisoidut muuttujat on nimetty fnes-alkuisiksi muuttujiksi (Finnish National Election Studies). Fnes-muuttujat koostuvat yhdestä tai useammasta eri kyselyaallon eli sarjan yksittäisen kyselyn muuttujasta. Kyselyaaltojen muuttujat on koodattu Tietoarkistossa uudelleen siten, että ne ovat keskenään vertailukelpoisia, ja yhdistetty tämän jälkeen fnes-muuttujaksi. Yhdistelmäaineiston mukana toimitetaan taulukko (bgF2556_eng.csv), josta käy ilmi, mitkä yksittäisten kyselyaaltojen muuttujat vastaavat mitäkin fnes-muuttujaa. Taulukko sisältää myös tiedot muuttujien aihealueista ja sisällöstä, muuttujien vertailtavuuteen liittyvät kommentit sekä aineiston harmonisoinnissa käytetyt SPSS-syntaksikomennot kommentteineen. Yhdistelmäaineiston muuttujista noin 130 on ollut mukana jokaisella kyselyaallolla. Lisäksi yli 200 muuttujaa on sisällytetty useampaan kuin yhteen kyselyyn. Loput muuttujat ovat yksittäisiä. Usein toistuvia muuttujia ovat muun muassa vastaajan kiinnostus politiikkaan, äänestäminen ja äänestämättä jättäminen, demokratiaa koskevat kysymykset sekä poliittisia asenteita mittaavat kysymykset. Taustatietoina vastaajista on kerätty sarjan aikana kaiken kaikkiaan noin 70 eri muuttujaa. Kerätyistä taustatiedoista osa toistuu kaikissa sarjan kyselyissä, osa vain joissakin ja osa vain yhdessä kyselyssä. Kaikissa aineistoissa toistuvat taustamuuttujat ovat vastaajan sukupuoli, ammatti, asuinkunta ja asuinalueen tyyppi sekä vaalipiiri, koulutus, kotitalouden yhteenlasketut bruttotulot, kotitalouden lasten lukumäärä, kaikkien kotitaloudessa asuvien henkilöiden lukumäärä, vastaajan kuuluminen kirkkoon tai uskonnolliseen yhteisöön, uskonnollisuus, syntymävuosi, siviilisääty, työllisyystilanne nyt ja viimeisen kahdentoista kuukauden aikana, työttömyysjaksot, ammatti (ISCO-08), äidinkieli ja kotitaloudessa käytetty kieli.",
"en": "This combined dataset contains the harmonised variables of datasets FSD1260, FSD2269, FSD2653, FSD3067, and FSD3467, which were collected after the Finnish parliamentary elections of 2003, 2007, 2011, 2015, and 2019. The studies belong to the Finnish National Election Studies data series, and their survey data contain Finland's contribution to the international Comparative Study of Electoral Systems (CSES). The harmonised variables, labelled \"fnes\", comprise responses from one or more collection rounds of the Finnish National Election Studies. Variables from different collection rounds were recoded and combined into the fnes variables at FSD to enable easier comparability between study waves. The data package includes a concordance table (bgF2556.csv) that details which variables in a collection round correspond to each fnes variable. The table also includes a topic and keyword description for the harmonised variables, comparability notes on the variables, as well as SPSS syntax commands and comments relating to the harmonisation of the data. Out of all the variables in the combined data, approximately 130 were included in all surveys of the series. Additionally, over 200 variables were included in more than one survey. The rest of the variables were specific to individual surveys. Recurring variables in the FNES data included, for example, interest in politics and elections as well as questions about voting and abstaining from voting. The variables also included respondents' political attitudes and views on democracy. A total of 70 different background variables were used over the course of the study series. Some background variables were included in all of the studies, some in fewer and some only in one study. Background variables that were included in all of the studies include gender, economic activity and occupational status, electoral district, level of education, household gross annual income, type of neighbourhood, number of children in the household, number of all persons living in the household, religious affiliation, year of birth, marital status, employment status, mother tongue and language spoken at home."

However, ready plots are available for most of the astronomically interesting observations.\n\nThis dataset contains:\n(i)\ttotal intensity maps of the solar disk measured with the 14-metre radio telescope at 37 GHz since 1978 (data from years 1978-1987 are digitized from contour plot printouts and converted to match the modern data format),\n(ii)\ttotal intensity of the Sun at 11.2 GHz, measured continuously with a 1.8-metre radio telescope since 2001,\n(iii)\tother data such as total irradiance / pyrheliometer data, telescope pointing data, weather parameters, and other auxiliary information."
