"en": "This study charted Finnish substance users' situation in life and alcohol and drug use. Main themes included the problems that arose from the respondents' substance use, their motivation to stop using substances, and their use of social services. Additionally, the data include evaluations of client meeting discussions between social counsellors and clients at A-clinics, which offer substance abuse and mental health services. The data were collected as part of a research project on the adherence of motivational interviewing in the initial substance abuse setting and its effect on clients' substance abuse harm reduction (the MISA project), funded by the Academy of Finland. The data consist of a pre-treatment survey, evaluations of counselling session discussions by both the counsellor and the client, and post-treatment surveys. The pre-treatment survey and the evaluations were completed during the counselling sessions, and the post-treatment surveys were completed as phone interviews six and twelve months after treatment. This dataset can be connected to the qualitative dataset FSD3368 Substance Abuse Treatment in Outpatient Clinics: Client Meetings 2008-2009, which consists of transcriptions of the counselling session discussions. The respondents in the two datasets can be connected with a unique client number. The qualitative dataset is only available in Finnish. The pre- and post-treatment surveys were nearly identical. First, the clients' situation in life and use of alcohol in the past six months were surveyed with questions from the Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test (AUDIT). The questions focused on, for example, how often the respondents consumed alcohol, how often they had not been able to stop drinking once they had started, how often they had felt guilt or remorse after drinking, and whether they had felt that their drinking had effected their social relationships negatively. The respondents' substance use was examined with questions regarding which substances they used and which substance was their principal opiate, i.e. for which opiate they were currently receiving treatment. Further questions on substance use were included from the Severity of Dependence Scale (SDS), for example, whether the respondents thought the use of their principal opiate was out of control and whether they wished they could stop using the opiate. Next, the pre-treatment survey charted the respondents' personal objectives regarding their substance use. The respondents were asked, for example, whether their objective was to achieve total abstinence or reduce their use of substances, or whether they though there was no need to change their substance use. Additionally, they were asked how sure they were that they would succeed in achieving their objective. Both the pre- and post-treatment surveys charted whether the respondents had any other addictions in addition to substances (e.g. a gambling, sex, or internet addiction). Finally, the treatment the respondents had received was examined in both surveys with questions on, for example, how many treatment periods they had received for substance use, whether they had received treatment for their substance use in the past six months, and whether they been on any medication to control their substance use in the past three months. For the evaluations of the counselling session discussions, the counsellors and clients were asked to evaluate different aspects of the discussion on a scale from 1 to 5. Both the clients and counsellors were asked, for example, whether they though the discussion had been good or bad, difficult or easy, useful or useless, or significant or insignificant. The client's perception of the attitude of the counsellor was charted with questions on, for example, whether the client thought the counsellor was judgemental or accepting, or unkind or kind. The counsellor's perception of the client's attitude was examined with questions regarding, for example, how much emotion the counsellor thought the client expressed and whether the client was willing or unwilling to work together with the counsellor during the discussion. Finally, the clients were asked to evaluate their own preparedness to stop or reduce substance use, and the counsellors were asked to evaluate whether the client had a strong will to change their behaviour and whether they were likely to continue treatment and reduce or stop substance use. Background variables included the client's age, gender, type of dwelling, marital status, level of education, employment status, and whether they had children.",
"fi": "Aineistossa kartoitetaan päihteiden käyttäjien elämäntilannetta, alkoholin tai huumeiden käyttöä, käytöstä seuranneita ongelmia, motivaatiota päihteidenkäytön lopettamiseen sekä sosiaalipalveluiden käyttöä eri aikapisteillä. Aineistossa käsitellään myös kokemuksia ohjaajan ja asiakkaan välisistä keskusteluista. Aineisto on kerätty Suomen Akatemian rahoittamassa Motivoivien alkuhaastatteluiden prosessi- ja tuloksellisuustutkimuksessa eli MISA-hankkeessa. Tutkimuksessa pyrittiin selvittämään, millainen yhteys motivoivan haastattelun käyttämisellä asiakastyössä on asiakkaiden päihteiden käyttöön. Tutkimusta on rahoittanut Suomen Akatemia. Aineisto koostuu MISA-esitietolomakkeesta, asiakkaan ja työntekijän keskustelun arviointi -lomakkeista sekä MISA-seurantalomakkeesta. Ensimmäinen MISA-lomake sekä asiakkaan ja työntekijän keskustelun arviointi -lomakkeet on täytetty työntekijän ja asiakkaan yhteistyöllä. MISA-seurannat tehtiin kuuden ja kahdentoista kuukauden välein ja tutkija keräsi ne puhelinhaastattelujen kautta. Aineistoa on mahdollista käyttää rinnakkain samoilta asiakkailta kerätyn kvalitatiivisen FSD3368-aineiston kanssa, jossa on asiakkaiden ja työntekijöiden välisten päihteidenkäyttöä koskevien keskustelujen litteraatit. Vastaajat voidaan yhdistää asiakasnumeron avulla. MISA-esitietolomake ja MISA-seurantalomake ovat lähes samanlaiset. Kyselyiden alussa tarkasteltiin vastaajan elämäntilannetta ja päihteiden käyttöä tarkemmin. Alkoholin käyttöä selvitettiin juomatapa- sekä alkoholin käytön riskit (Audit - Alcohol Use Disorders Identification Test) -testien avulla. Päihteiden käyttöä tarkasteltiin muun muassa päihderiippuvuuden vakavuuden arviointiasteikon (SDS) avulla. Seuraavaksi kyselyissä siirryttiin tiedustelemaan vastaajan mahdollisia tavoitteita päihteiden käytön ja niiden lopettamisen suhteen. MISA-lomakkeiden lopussa vastaajilta kysyttiin vielä mahdollisten hoitojaksojen pituutta, avo- ja laitoshoitoon tai vertaistukiryhmään osallistumisista ja riippuvuuksien hoidossa käytettävien lääkkeiden käytöstä. Asiakkaan ja työntekijän keskustelun arviointi -lomakkeissa selvitettiin asiakkaan sekä työntekijän käsityksiä ja tuntemuksia käydyistä keskusteluista. Vastaajia pyydettiin arvioimaan keskustelun laatua asteikolla yhdestä viiteen, muun muassa kysymällä oliko se huono vai hyvä ja hyödytön vai hyödyllinen. Lisäksi heitä pyydettiin tekemään yleisarvio toisen osapuolen suhtautumisesta samalla asteikolla erilaisten esimerkkien avulla. Lopuksi asiakkaan tuli vielä arvioida omaa valmiuttaan päihteiden käytön lopettamiseen tai vähentämiseen ja ohjaajaa pyydettiin esittämään omia arvioitaan siitä, jatkaako asiakas hoitoa, vähentääkö tai lopettaako hän päihteiden käytön ja onko asiakkaan halu muutokseen kuinka vahva. Taustamuuttujina ovat asiakkaan ikä, sukupuoli, asumismuoto, siviilisääty, peruskoulutus, ammattikoulutus, työtilanne ja se, onko asiakkaalla lapsia vai ei."

"en": "The survey studied municipal (local) environmental administration, the role played by the elected officials and cooperation between different bodies in the management of municipal environmental functions. The main themes were the functioning of municipal environmental administration, its efficiency, the state of the environment and environmental problems occurring in municipalities. First questions dealt with the basic organisation of municipal environmental functions: did the municipality manage them on its own or in cooperation with other municipalities. The municipality's environmental administration structure and overall administration structure were examined. The interaction of environmental administration was studied by asking how often the respondents were in contact with other persons, groups or bodies. The respondents were asked about their relations with the media, cooperation with regional environment centres and whether the foundation of regional environment centres had improved the regional administration cooperation. RThe respondents were asked to evaluate the overall state of their municipality's environment, whether the municipality had problems in certain areas, how serious these problems were and whether they had been monitored (e.g. the state of soil and ground water, waste management, noise level). The respondents were also asked to name five serious environmental conflicts which had occurred in the preceding five years, the parties involved and what the respondent had done to solve them. The survey included some questions pertaining to Local Agenda 21 (LA21), a sustainable development project. Background variables included the respondent's age, sex and education, length of the working experience in environmental management, political inclinations, membership in organisations and environmental attitudes.",
"fi": "Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin kuntien ympäristönsuojeluhallinnon organisaatiota, luottamushenkilöorganisaation roolia siinä sekä yhteistyötä eri tahojen kanssa kunnan ympäristönsuojelutehtävien hoidossa. Tarkastelun kohteina olivat ympäristöhallinon toiminta ja tehokkuus kunnissa, ympäristön tila ja kunnissa esiintyneet ympäristöongelmat. Ensin kysyttiin kunnan ympäristönsuojelutehtävien organisoinnin perusratkaisua, eli hoitaako kunta sen omana toimintanaan vai jollakin tavoin organisoituna kuntien yhteistyönä. Kuntien organisaation toimintaa yleensä ja ympäristönsuojeluhallinnon toimintaa erikseen selvitettiin muutamien väittämien avulla. Kunnan ympäristöhallinnon vuorovaikutusta tutkittiin muun muassa kysymällä, miten usein vastaaja on yhteydessä joihinkin henkilöihin ja sidosryhmiin. Heitä pyydettiin luonnehtimaan suhdettaan tiedotusvälineisiin ja alueelliseen ympäristökeskukseen. Ympäristökeskuksen perustamisen vaikutusta vastaajan ja aluehallinnon suhteisiin tutkittiin myös. Kunnan ympäristöongelmia tutkittaessa vastaajia pyydettiin ensin määrittelemään kuntansa ympäristön yleistila. Lisäksi tiedusteltiin, miten vakavia jotkin erikseen luetellut ympäristöongelmat olivat kunnassa sekä onko niistä tehty erillisiä tutkimuksia (erimerkiksi maaperän ja pohjavesien tilasta tai melutilanteesta). Edelleen pyydettiin luettelemaan viisi kunnassa viimeisen viiden vuoden aikana ilmennyttä vaikeaa ympäristökonfliktia osapuolineen. Lisäksi kysyttiin muun muassa miten vastaajat toimivat konfliktitilanteessa. Tutkimuksessa esitettiin myös muutamia Agenda 21 -projektia koskevia kysymyksiä. Taustamuuttujia olivat muun muassa vastaajan ikä, sukupuoli, koulutus, hänen ympäristönsuojelutehtävissä hankkimansa työkokemuksen pituus ja poliittinen sijoittuminen vasemmisto-oikeisto -akselilla."

"en": "This research project investigates student teacher professional agency (STPA) in a Brazilian and a Finnish teacher education program using a quantitative approach, unlike earlier qualitative studies. A questionnaire assessing STPA, environmental (i.e., curriculum coherence and learning environment), and individual (i.e., teacher identity) factors was administered to student teachers to both programs. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling and network analysis. The student teachers’ perceptions of (1) coherence between parts of the program, theory, and practice; (2) positive climate with their peers and mentors’ recognition; and (3) teacher identity were the most relevant factors regulating STPA in both countries. These findings offer insights into developing a teacher education curriculum focused on strengthening STPA."

"en": "Aineisto käsittelee ja kartoittaa tieteellisten seurojen toimintaa Suomessa. Aineisto kerättiin osana Tieteellisten seurain valtuuskunnan (TSV) ja Tampereen yliopiston projektia, jossa tarkoituksena oli selvittää tieteellisten seurojen toimintaa ja edistää tieteellisten seurojen näkyvyyttä. Ensiksi vastaajilta kysyttiin taustatietoja, kuten seuran edustamaa tieteenalaa, seuran toiminta-aluetta, toiminnan tavoitteita ja seuran ydintehtäviä. Sen jälkeen tiedusteltiin, minkä takia seura on Tieteellisten seurain valtuuskunnan jäsen. Kyselyllä selvitettiin seuran taloutta ja organisoitumista, esimerkiksi oliko seuralla palkallisia työntekijöitä vuonna 2018. Lisäksi tiedusteltiin seuran jäsenyydestä muun muassa, keistä seuran jäsenistö koostuu ja mitä jäsenetuja seura tarjoaa. Seuran julkaisutoiminnasta, seminaari- ja konferenssitoiminnasta sekä seuran tutkimustoiminnasta kysyttiin myös. Näiden jälkeen kysyttiin yhteiskunnallisesta vaikuttamisesta ja tiedeviestinnästä sekä avoimeen tieteeseen liittyvästä vaikuttamistyöstä. Sitten kysyttiin, pitääkö seura yhteyttä muihin suomalaisiin tieteellisiin seuroihin ja miten seura toteutti yhteydenpitoa niihin. Lopuksi kysyttiin, onko seuran tarkoitus käynnistää uusia toimintamuotoja. Aineisto ei sisällä taustatietoja vastaajista."

"en": "Sámi Barometer 2020 is a survey conducted by the Ministry of Justice and the Giellagas Institute, aiming to examine the implementation of the Sámi Language Act. The data specifically investigates the availability, functionality, and development needs of Sámi-language services, as well as the realization of linguistic rights both within and outside the Sámi homeland in Finland. The 2020 survey focuses on education, cultural, and leisure services. Respondents' language proficiency was assessed by asking how well they can speak, write, and understand each language (Inari Sámi, Skolt Sámi, North Sámi, and Finnish). Further questions explored in which contexts the respondent has learned Sámi (e.g., at home in childhood, in daycare, at school, as an adult) and to what extent they use Sámi in everyday life, at work, with family and relatives, and when dealing with authorities. If the respondent had or has underage children, they were asked which languages they speak to their children, what kind of daycare the children have attended, and in which language they go to school. Respondents were asked how well they know their linguistic rights and the Sámi Language Act, and how important they consider linguistic rights. The survey examined the availability and functionality of public services (municipal and state services) in Sámi. Respondents living in the Sámi homeland were asked, among other things, about the availability and functionality of library, cultural or sports services, daycare, and basic education in their spoken Sámi language. In addition, the survey inquired how the municipality communicates about its activities in Sámi. Respondents were also asked in which municipal or state functions they have received services in Sámi and in which areas increasing such services would be most important in their opinion. Furthermore, the survey asked what actions the municipality or state should take to develop Sámi-language services. The survey also explored the language climate in the municipality and possible experiences of discrimination, prejudice, or harassment due to the use of the Sámi language. Background information in the data includes the respondent's gender, year of birth, level of education, employment status, mother tongue, and major region.",

Vuoden 2020 kyselyssä painotus on koulutus-, kulttuuri- ja vapaa-ajan palveluissa. Vastaajan kielitaitoa kartoitettiin kysymällä, kuinka hyvin vastaaja osaa kutakin kieltä (inarinsaame, koltansaame, pohjoissaame ja suomi) suullisesti, kirjallisesti ja ymmärtää sitä. Edelleen tiedusteltiin, missä yhteyksissä vastaaja on oppinut saamea (esim. lapsuudenkodissa, päivähoidossa, koulussa, aikuisiällä) sekä missä määrin hän käyttää saamea arjessa, työelämässä, perheen ja sukulaisten kanssa sekä viranomaisten kanssa asioidessa. Jos vastaajalla oli tai on ollut alaikäisiä lapsia, kysyttiin, mitä kieliä hän puhuu lapsilleen, millaisessa päivähoidossa lapset ovat olleet ja millä kielellä he käyvät koulua. Vastaajilta tiedusteltiin, kuinka hyvin he tuntevat kielelliset oikeutensa ja saamen kielilain sekä miten tärkeinä he pitävät kielellisiä oikeuksia. Kyselyssä kartoitettiin julkisten palveluiden (kunnalliset ja valtiolliset palvelut) saatavuutta ja toimivuutta saamen kielellä. Saamen kotiseutualueella asuvilta vastaajilta kysyttiin mm. kirjaston, kulttuuri- tai liikuntapalveluiden, päivähoidon ja perusopetuksen saatavuudesta ja toimivuudesta heidän puhumallaan saamen kielellä. Lisäksi tiedusteltiin, miten kunta tiedottaa toiminnastaan saamen kielellä. Vastaajilta kysyttiin myös, missä kunnan tai valtion toiminnoissa he ovat saaneet saamenkielistä palvelua ja missä palvelun lisääminen olisi heidän mielestään tärkeintä. Lisäksi tiedusteltiin, millaisiin toimiin kunnan tai valtion tulisi ryhtyä saamenkielisten palveluiden kehittämiseksi. Kyselyssä kartoitettiin myös kieli-ilmapiiriä kunnassa sekä mahdollisia syrjintä-, ennakkoluulo- tai häirintäkokemuksia saamen kielen käytön vuoksi. Taustatietoina aineistossa ovat vastaajan sukupuoli, syntymävuosi, koulutusaste, työmarkkina-asema, äidinkieli ja suuralue."

The interview questions were structured around five main themes: personal background; motivations for participating in political activism and joining KTL; activities of the association and the interviewees' attitudes toward e.g. the Warsaw Pact invasion of Czechoslovakia; interpersonal relations inside the association; and difficult issues such as attitudes toward homosexuality in Finnish leftist circles in the 1970s and the case of musician Wolf Biermann (a large share of KTL members signed a letter supporting his expatriation from the DDR). "fi": "Aineisto koostuu vuonna 1972 perustetun ja sittemmin toimintansa lopettaneen Kulttuurityöntekijäin liiton (KTL) aktiivien haastatteluista. Haastattelut on alunperin kerätty Kulttuurityöntekijäin liiton historiaa käsittelevää kirjaa varten. Kaikki haastateltavat ovat olleet merkittävässä roolissa Kulttuurityöntekijäin liiton perustamisessa ja toiminnassa. Haastateltavat esiintyvät haastatteluissa omilla nimillään. Haastattelujen kysymykset rakentuvat viiden pääteeman ympärille. Henkilöiden taustaan liittyen kysyttiin mm. KTL:on liittymisen ajankohtaa, liittymisen aikaista ammattia ja liittoon kuulumisen kestosta. Motivaatiota käsittelevässä osiossa kysyttiin KTL:on liittymisen ja poliittisen toiminnan syistä. Toimintaa käsittelevän osion kysymykset liittyivät esimerkiksi taistolaisuuteen, Tsekkoslovakian miehitykseen, vallankumouksen tarpeellisuuteen ja mahdollisuuteen, Neuvostoliittoon sekä Suomen Kommunistisen Puolueen ja KTL:n väliseen suhteeseen. Henkilösuhteita käsittelevässä osiossa kysyttiin haastateltavan omista henkilösuhteista KTL:n sisällä sekä toisiin jäseniin liittyvästä kunnioituksesta. Viimeisessä teemaosiossa kysyttiin haastateltavien mahdollisesti vaikeiksi kokemista aiheista, kuten paljon julkisuudesssa olleesta Matti Rossin ja Denes Kissin tapauksesta. Lisäksi kysyttiin Wolf Biermannin tapauksesta, jossa iso joukko Kulttuurityöntekijöiden liiton jäsenistä allekirjoitti kirjeen, joka tuki hänen karkoittamistaan Itä-Saksasta länteen. Samassa yhteydessä kysyttiin myös siitä, kuinka 1970-luvun vasemmistoaktiivien piirissä suhtauduttiin homoseksuaalisuuteen . Haastatteluissa on käytetty kolmea eri kysymysrunkoa. Kahdessa ensimmäisessä haastattelussa käytettiin laajempaa kysymysrunkoa, ja kun se todettiin liian laveaksi, kysymysrunkoa supistettiin myöhempiin haastatteluihin. "en": "The survey studied unmarried 30-47-year-old women who did not have children. The purpose of the study was to chart the status of unmarried and childless women, and to canvass their conceptions of themselves and their situation. They were asked for instance about their daily life, conceptions of a good life, attitudes and prejudice of the people around them towards childlessness, sexuality and being unmarried. The respondents were contacted through an advert in several newspapers in which they were asked to give some preliminary information. After the gathering of this information, the interviews were conducted. 34 women took part in the study, 4 of which did not give permission for future re-use of their data. This part includes the interviews that can be used for research purposes only. The dataset is only available in Finnish.",
"fi": "Tutkimuksessa tutkittiin 30-47-vuotiaita naisia, jotka ovat sekä puolisottomia että lapsettomia. Haastatteluilla kartoitettiin millä tavoin tässä asemassa olevat yksineläjänaiset puhuvat omasta normaaliudestaan, hyväksyttävyydestään ja aikuisuudestaan. Kysymyksiä esitettiin mm. haastateltujen arjesta, yksineläjänaisen hyvän elämän edellytyksistä, ennakkoluuloista ja ympäristön suhtautumisesta yksineläjänaisen puolisottomuuteen, lapsettomuuteen ja seksuaalisuuteen. Tutkimuskohteet tavoitettiin ilmaisjakelulehtiin (Karjalan Heili, Tamperelainen, Suur-Jyväskylän lehti) laitetun lehti-ilmoituksen avulla jossa heiltä pyydettiin ennakkotietoja. Ennakkotietojen keruun jälkeen järjestettiin haastattelut. Tutkimukseen osallistui 34 naista, joista neljä kielsi haastattelujensa jatkokäytön. Tähän osa aineistoon (30 tiedostoa) sisältyvät haastattelut, joita haastateltavien antaman luvan mukaisesti voi käyttää vain tutkimuksessa."

"en": "This survey was conducted as part of a Master's Thesis and in relation with the Finnish educational project \"TUTKEsta toimintaan\" at Tampere University of Applies Sciences. The study charted upper secondary level vocational teachers' views on what sort of an impact competence-based methods have had on vocational education in Finland. \"Competence-based\" ('osaamisperusteisuus' in Finnish, translation by the Finnish National Agency for Education) is used here to describe a way of implementing studies where, instead of abstract knowledge, working life competencies and the flexibility and personality of one's studies is emphasised. The survey first contained questions about competence-based education generally, e.g. with regard to how the concept is perceived, how well it had been implemented at the respondent's home institution, and if the respondent felt more pressure in their work due to e.g. rush, new systems, new legislation, expectations, and increases in workload or the number of students. Next, the respondents were presented with a set of attitudinal statements regarding the impact of personalisation and flexibility of studies. The teachers were also asked how personalisation of studies was visible in their everyday work, and whether personalisation and flexibility of studies offered advantages in studies and working life or if they created new challenges. Next, attitudinal statements were presented on the tasks and appreciation of the teacher as well as working life cooperation. In addition, the respondents were asked if the teacher's role had changed in a variety of ways after the implementation of competence-based vocational education. The respondents were then asked to evaluate the extent they agreed or disagreed with statements regarding competence-based evaluation, e.g. \"Competence-based evaluation is simple\" and \"Competence tests meet employers' expectations of working life competencies\". They were also asked if the new competence-based evaluation methods gave a more truthful image of students' competencies than the previous teaching system, and what were the possible pros or cons of the old system. Finally, the respondents were asked to describe how the competence-based system had affected their everyday work tasks and Finnish upper secondary vocational education in general. Background variables included gender, age group, institution, and work experience in years.",
"fi": "Kysely on tehty osana pro gradu -tutkielmaa ja toteutettu osana TAMK:n (Tampereen ammattikorkeakoulun) ammatillisen opettajakoulutuksen järjestämää Tutkesta toimintaan -koulutusprojektia. Tutkimuksella kartoitettiin, miten toisen asteen ammatilliset opettajat kokevat osaamisperusteiseen ajatteluun siirtymisen vaikuttaneen koulutuksen toteuttamiseen. Kyselyn alussa kyseltiin yleisesti osaamisperusteisuudesta; muun muassa sitä, miten käsite mielletään, kuinka paljon se näkyy omassa organisaatiossa ja onko sillä ollut vaikutusta omaan työtaakkaan sekä onko omien työtehtävien vaatimuksiin vastaaminen edelleen mahdollista. Seuraavaksi kyselyssä esitettiin väitteitä liittyen opintojen henkilökohtaistamiseen sekä joustavuuteen. Opettajilta kysyttiin lisäksi, miten henkilökohtaistaminen näkyy työn arjessa ja kysyttiin mielipidettä joustavuuden sekä henkilökohtaistamisen merkityksestä tulevaisuuden työelämässä. Seuraavaksi kyselyssä siirryttiin esittelemään väittämiä ammatillisen koulutuksen opettajuudesta ja sen muutoksista. Lisäksi vastaajia pyydettiin kuvailemaan, minkälaista osaamisperusteinen opettaminen on ja onko opettajan roolissa tapahtunut muutos osaamisperusteiseen koulutukseen siirryttäessä. Seuraavaksi vastaajia pyydettiin arvioimaan erilaisia väittämiä osaamisperusteisesta arvioinnista, esimerkiksi 'Osaamisperusteinen arviointi on yksinkertaista'. Vastaajia pyydettiin lisäksi arvioimaan omin sanoin, miten osaamisperusteisuuteen siirtyminen on vaikuttanut arkisiin työtehtäviin. "en": "The survey studied unmarried 30-47-year-old women who did not have children. The purpose of the study was to chart the status of unmarried and childless women, and to canvass their conceptions of themselves and their situation. They were asked for instance about their daily life, conceptions of a good life, attitudes and prejudice of the people around them towards childlessness, sexuality and being unmarried. The respondents were contacted through an advert in several newspapers in which they were asked to give some preliminary information. After the gathering of this information, the interviews were conducted. 34 women took part in the study, 4 of which did not give permission for future re-use of their data. This part includes the interviews that can be used both for teaching and research purposes. The dataset is only available in Finnish.",
"fi": "Tutkimuksessa tutkittiin 30-47-vuotiaita naisia, jotka ovat sekä puolisottomia että lapsettomia. Haastatteluilla kartoitettiin millä tavoin tässä asemassa olevat yksineläjänaiset puhuvat omasta normaaliudestaan, hyväksyttävyydestään ja aikuisuudestaan. Kysymyksiä esitettiin mm. haastateltujen arjesta, yksineläjänaisen hyvän elämän edellytyksistä, ennakkoluuloista ja ympäristön suhtautumisesta yksineläjänaisen puolisottomuuteen, lapsettomuuteen ja seksuaalisuuteen. Tutkimuskohteet tavoitettiin ilmaisjakelulehtiin (Karjalan Heili, Tamperelainen, Suur-Jyväskylän lehti) laitetun lehti-ilmoituksen avulla jossa heiltä pyydettiin ennakkotietoja. Ennakkotietojen keruun jälkeen järjestettiin haastattelut. Tutkimukseen osallistui 34 naista, joista neljä kielsi haastattelujensa jatkokäytön. Tähän osa aineistoon (16 tiedostoa) sisältyvät haastattelut, joita haastateltavien antaman luvan mukaisesti voi käyttää sekä opiskelussa että tutkimuksessa."
