"en": "This dataset is a tar file that contains the reduced MUSE data-cube of ESO 243-49. The reduction was made using the MUSE pipeline under the Reflex environment. The individual exposures were manually aligned and the sky residuals were treated with ZAP. \r\n\r\nThe data set also includes the data required to produce kinematic and stellar population maps as obtained from the data-cube using pPXF and STECKMAP, respectively.\r\n\r\nThe data reduction process is described in detail in Comerón et al. 2016, A&A, 593, L6."

"fi": "Jokia kuvaava valtakunnallinen uomatietojärjestelmä sisältää fysiografiset ja hierarkkiset perustiedot pääsääntöisesti yli 10 km2 yläpuolisen valuma-alueen omaavista uomista sekä niistä muodostetuista uomareiteistä. Lisäksi uomatietojärjestelmä sisältää myös vesienhoidollisesti merkittäviä alle 10 km2 yläpuolisen valuma-alueen omaavia uomia. Uomatietojärjestelmän uomaverkosto ei sinällään kuvaa uuden vesilain vesistömääritelmän mukaista vesistöä. \r\n\r\nUomatietojärjestelmä koostuu uomatietokannasta ja siihen uomatunnusten avulla yhdistettävissä olevasta paikkatietoaineistosta (Ranta10; uomaverkosto 1:5 000-10 000). Maastotietokannan rantaviiva-aineistoon (MML) on SYKEssa luotu yhdistävä ja topologisesti eheä viivamainen uomaverkosto järvet ylittävine pseudouomineen. Uoma vaihtuu toiseksi yksilöllisen uomatunnuksen sekä uomatiedot omaavaksi uomaksi aina uomaverkostoon kuuluvien uomien risteyksessä sekä uoman ja järven yhtymäkohdassa. \r\n\r\nUomatietojärjestelmä on integroitu ympäristöhallinnon ArcGIS-paikkatieto-ohjelmaan laaditun uomasovelluksen sekä ympäristötietojärjestelmän järviä ja valuma-alueita kuvaavien tietojärjestelmäosioiden kanssa. \r\n\r\nUomatietojärjestelmään pääsee SYKEn Hertta- ja Avoin tieto -palveluiden kautta."

"fi": "Uomatietojärjestelmän paikkatietoaineistoksi luotu uomaverkosto on laadittu MML:n maastotietokannasta luodun Ranta10-rantaviiva-aineiston pohjalta. Ranta10-aineistoon on SYKE:ssä lisätty jokien keskilinjat ja järvet ylittävät pseudouomat sekä korjattu mm. mahdolliset katkeamat, jotta on saatu luotua topologisesti eheä yhdistävä verkosto. Ranta10-aineisto pohjautuu Maanmittauslaitoksen maastotietokannan vuosien 2000-2008 aineistoon (1:5 000-1:10 000). Maastotietokannan vesiin sisältyvistä kohteista mukaan on otettu alueina vakavedet sekä yli 5 m leveät virtavedet. Lisäksi mukana on maastotietokannan yli 200 m2:n kokoisia altaita. Viivoina kuvatuista alle 5 m leveistä virtavesistä on mukana vesistön päävirtausreitit sisältäen sekä 2-5 m leveitä että alle 2 m leveitä virtavesiä. Aineisto on uudelleen luokiteltu ja topologialtaan tarkistettu SYKEssä. \r\n\r\nAlustava yli 10 km2 yläpuolisen valuma-aluekokokriteerin täyttävä uomaverkosto on mallinnettu hydrologisessa mallinnusprosessissa MML:n valtakunnallisen 25 m:n korkeusmallin avulla. Hydrologisen mallinnuksen tarkkuuden parantamiseksi korkeusmallin virtausreittejä on ensin korostettu \"polttamalla\" siihen portaittain eri syvyyksille Ranta10 -rantaviiva-aineiston joet sekä vesialueet. \r\n\r\nAlueelliset ympäristökeskukset (nykyisin ELY) ovat tarkistaneet mallinnetun uomaverkoston virtaussuuntien ja -reittien osalta sekä täydentäneet verkostoa alueellisesti tärkeillä kohteilla. Tarvittaessa uomaverkostoon on lisätty myös vesienhoidollisesti merkittäviä alle 10 km2 yläpuolisen valuma-alueen omaavia uomia. Lopullisen uomaverkoston muodostaa näiden mallinnettujen ja tarkistettujen uomien vastineet Ranta10-aineistossa. \r\n\r\nJokaiselle uomaverkoston uomalle on annettu yksilöllinen uomatunnus. Uoma vaihtuu toiseksi uomaksi aina uomaverkostoon kuuluvien uomien risteyksessä sekä uoman ja järven yhtymäkohdassa. Jokaiselle uomaverkoston uomalle on määritetty fysiografiset ja hierarkkiset perustiedot MML:n 25 m:n korkeusmallin ja Ranta10-rantaviiva-aineiston avulla. Myös ko. uomista muodostetuille uomareiteille on määritetty fysiografiset perustiedot. \r\n\r\n13.9.2016: Uomaverkosto on päivitetty kattamaan myös merialueiden saaret (lisätty 87 uomaa). Lisäksi Käsivarren raja-alueiden uomaverkostoa on täydennetty (lisätty 36 uomaa). Uusien uomien ominaisuustiedot ovat toistaiseksi osittain puutteellisia. Puuttuvat uomatiedot täydennetään myöhemmin. \r\n\r\n12.5.2015: Uomaverkostoa on päivitetty n. 350 uoman osalta (lisätty tai muutettu uomia). Päivitettyjen uomien ominaisuustiedot ovat toistaiseksi osittain puutteellisia. Puuttuvat uomatiedot täydennetään myöhemmin. Reittejä, joihin päivittyneitä uomia sisältyy, ei toistaiseksi näytetä."

"en": "I look for divisions to clusters among academic departments in three disciplines: economics, mathematics, and comparative literature. I define clusters as subsets of departments with unexpectedly little hiring across the cluster lines. The division within economics is by far the strongest, is consistent with anecdotal evidence about \\\\\"Freshwater\\\\\" and \\\\\"Saltwater\\\\\" schools of thought, and has been stable over time. "en": "Data contains eddy covariance fluxes of CO, CO2, heat, energy, N2O measured on a mineral agricultural field located in Eastern Finland (63°9'48.69'' N, 27°14'3.29'' E), cultivated with a perennial reed canary grass (RCG, Phalaris arundinaceae, L. cv. Palaton). The measurements were part of the ICOS (Integrated Carbon Observation System) Finland program during April to November 2011. Fluxes of CO were measured by two continuous-wave quantum cascade lasers: AR-CW-QCL (model CW-TILDAS-CS Aerodyne Research Inc.) and LGR-CW-QCL (model N2O/CO-23d, Los Gatos Research Inc.). "en": "## Introduction\r\nThe research material consists of the Finnish first encounters dialogue corpus collected as part of the NOMCO project, a Nordic cooperation project. The project aim for developing and analyzing multi-modal spoken language corpora in the Nordic countries, and to compare communication strategies in three closely related languages (Danish, Finnish, and Swedish). The main goals of the project are the following:\r\n\r\n1. Providing comparative annotated multimodal data.\r\n2. Using these data to investigate specific communicative phenomena such as feedback and turn-taking.\r\n3. Developing, extending and adapting models of multimodal interactive communication management that can serve as a basis for interactive systems;\r\n4. Applying machine learning techniques in order to test the possibilities for automatically recognizing or predicting hand gestures, head movements and facial expressions with different interactive communication functions. \r\n\r\nWithin the project, dialog corpora using the same activity type, first encounters, have been collected in the different languages: using the same activity type, comparisons between languages and cultures can be enabled.\r\n\r\n## Data collection\r\nThe interactions in the first encounters corpora involve two subjects who are standing in front of a light background. The participants were instructed to get to know each other in a short interaction, as they might do at a party or a reception. After the recording they answered a questionnaire about their reactions to both the interlocutor and the interaction setting. The dataset consist of 16 video recordings of first-encounter interactions in Finnish. Video recordings show both participants at the same time as well as each participant individually, and there is also a mosaic version with the individual and the joint video streamed together in one video. In this study we concentrate on individual behaviours and not on interpersonal communication, and thus used the individual videos rather than videos with both participants as research material.\r\nThe 14 participants did not know each other in advance, and were given the task of getting to know each other by having a conversation. Eleven of the participants had two conversations with a different partner, while three took part in only one conversation. Although one’s conversational activity depends on the partner, it seems useful to distinguish between the first and the second conversation, since in the second one, the speaker is familiar with the recording situation and can therefore feel more relaxed and attentive to the partner. In fact, in terms of the speaking time, the participants seem to speak about 7% more in their first conversation than in the second one, which can be interpreted as supporting this assumption: in the second conversation, they feel more experienced and in control of the situation, so as to follow and let the partner to speak.\r\n\r\n## Dataset statistics and organization\r\nThere are 14 participants, 4 males and 10 females, all native speakers of Finnish. Of the 16 collected conversations, there are 2 male-male conversations, 6 male-female conversations, and 8 female-female conversations. The shortest conversation is 3 minutes 49 seconds and the longest 8 minutes 2 seconds. The average length of the conversations is 6 minutes 25 seconds.\r\n\r\n## Content and annotations\r\nThe dataset provides recording in two primitive types of data: audio and video, which are annotated for three different tasks:\r\n\r\n* The transcriptions are provided in both Finnish, and translated English.\r\n* The laughter annotations mark the laughing events from each speaker.\r\n* The topic annotations, in English, specify discussing topic along the conversation.\r\n\r\nFor more information concerned the structure of the dataset, you can check the Readme.txt included in the dataset."

"en": "## Introduction\r\nThe DigiSami project (www.helsinki.fi/digisami/) aims to study the effect of digitalisation on small Finno-Ugric language communities and to support visibility and revitalisations of the endangered languages by creating digital content as well as developing language and speech technology tools, resources, and applications that can be used for automatic speech and language processing. The project focuses especially on the North Sami language, and explores various spoken language issues (speaker identification, multimodal conversation analysis, laughing), with the challenging goal of demonstrating viability of an interactive dialogue system in the North Sami language, SamiTalk, following the multilingual open-domain robot application WikiTalk. WikiTalk is an interactive robot application that enables users to find out more about subjects that interest them by discussing with the humanoid robot. They can navigate through the Wikipedia articles, ask for more information on interesting subjects, and get the robot to read the related Wikipedia article for them.\r\n\r\n## Data collection\r\nThe project organsied Sami language data collection and Wikipedia article writing through series of community events. The participants were invited to take part in three different tasks: discussion and writing Wikipedia articles, reading aloud of existing Wikipedia texts, and taking part in a free conversation which was video recorded. The events took place in the central Sami speaking areas, selected so that they represented different North Sami dialects. The locations were three villages in Finland: Utsjoki (Ohcejohka), Inari (Anár) and Ivalo (Avvil), and two villages in Norway: Kautokeino (Guovdageaid) and Karasjoki (Kárásjohka). (see more of the DigiSami data and data collection in).\r\nText readings and conversations were recorded by EDIROL R4Pro four-channel recording device with AKG 417 L-microphones. Two Panasonic HC-X920 video cameras and three GoPro HERO3 cameras were used for video-recordings. Conversational speech was also recorded by the cameras own microphone.\r\nThe reading took place in a calm and normal speaking manner, and the participant could study the articles in advance. The conversations were between two or three people, and the participants were instructed to discuss freely about their own interests or about the Wikipedia articles they were to write (e.g. Sami language, Sami costume, music, reindeer herding, and snow- mobiles). The topics vary from everyday life (next vacation, driving school, cars) to translation between Sami and other languages and to technological tools that have been made to help writing North Sami more correctly. The conversations differ in style: familiar participants have casual conversations and they often refer to things they had been talking about earlier. Conversations between a pupil and a teacher are more formal and resemble interviews rather than conversations.\r\n\r\n## Dataset statistics and organization\r\nThere were 28 participants, 10 men and 18 women. Their age range from 16 to 65 years: 17 were 16-21 years old, five 30-44 years old, and six 49-65 years old. The participants were native speakers of North Sami, and almost all (26) reported using North Sami daily; one participant reported using North Sami weekly and one participant monthly. All participants were bilingual, and spoke either Finnish (Utsjoki, Ivalo, Inari), or Norwegian (Kautokeino and Karasjoki). Most participants had lived their life in the Spmi area, although not in the same place. The videoing lasted for one school year, from September to May, in a primary school in Helsinki area. Pääosallistujille tehtiin videointijakson lopuksi yksilöhaastattelut, jotka on myös videoitu. Lisäksi aineistoon kuuluu lapsille tehdyt sosiometriset mittaukset sekä kahden opettajan haastattelut.\n\nSuomea oppivien lasten luonnollisessa ryhmätilanteessa tuottaman puheen saattaminen pitkittäistutkimuksen korpukseksi on uraauurtava hanke. Long Second -aineiston erottaa muista oppijansuomen korpuksista seitsemän erityispiirrettä: 1) naturalistinen pienryhmäluokkatilanne, 2) pitkittäisyys ja tiheys, 3) multimodaalisuus, 4) monenkeskisyys ja samanaikaisvuorovaikutus, 5) osallistujien ikäjakauma (7–12), 6) osallistujien maahanmuuton äskettäisyys ja siihen liittyvä monikielisyys sekä 7) keskittyminen viron- ja venäjänkielisiin suomenoppijoihin.\n\nKorpus julkaistaan LATissa (https://lat.csc.fi)"

"en": "The corpus contains the University of Helsinki's English Philology entrance exam essays written by candidates from 2002 and 2006. The average length of the essays is 293 words. The essays from 2002 are about a linguistic work while the ones from 2006 deal with a literary work. The corpus was compiled and originally used for studying the language skills of the candidates. Because of this only essays from candidates who had received their school education at a certain time (i.e. persons who had completed their matriculation examinations up to a few years before the entrance exam) were included in the corpus, so that the influence of post-school education on the candidates' language skills would be minimal. The corpus contains also some metadata on the candidates, such as completion year of the matriculation examination, grades at different subjects, gender, etc.",

"en": "Typological database about the perfect tense and similar structures in European languages. The data was collected in the mid-1990s by means of questionnaires to which voluntary informants replied. The total number of respondents was 95, and they represented speakers of 35-36 languages. The questionnaire consisted of 88 of sentences in English that the informants translated into their mother tongue. The corpus contains thus 8360 sentences that are stored in an Access database.",
"fi": "Typologinen tietokanta Euroopan kielissä esiintyvistä perfektiaikamuodoista ja vastaavista rakenteista. Aineisto on kerätty 1990-luvun puolivälissä kyselylomakkeiden avulla, joihin tutkimukseen vapaa-ehtoisesti osallistuneet informantit vastasivat. Yhteensä vastaajia oli 95, ja he edustivat 35-36 kielen puhujia. Kyselylomake koostui 88 englanninkielisestä lauseesta, jotka informantit käänsivät äidinkielelleen. Kyselyaineistoksi muodostui näin ollen 8360 lauseen kokoelma, joka on talletettu Access-tietokantaan."

"en": "This resource consists of a typological database and accompanying textfiles with additional notes. The database contains information on standard negation structures in a sample of 297 languages from different parts of the world. Standard negation here refers to the negation of declarative main clauses with a verbal predicate. Furthermore, there is information on other aspects of negation as well as on polar interrogatives (yes/no questions). The polar interrogatives sample comprises approximately 200 languages at present, and since it overlaps only partially with the sample on standard negation, the database contains coded data from almost 400 languages.",

Standardikiellon osalta tietokannassa on tietoa 297 kielestä. ’Standardikielto’ viittaa tässä verbipredikaatin sisältäviin deklaratiivisiin päälauseisiin soveltuviin kieltorakenteisiin. Aineistossa on tietoja muistakin kiellon aspekteista ja myös kyllä/ei-kysymyksistä. Jälkimmäisiä koskeva otos sisältää tietoja noin 200 eri kielestä. Kielet ovat vain osittain päällekkäisiä standardikielto-otoksen kanssa, joten yhteensä tietokannassa on lähemmäs 400 kielestä koodattua dataa."
