Lajihavainnot on ryhmitelty eliöryhmittäin: putkilokasvit, levät, vesisammalet, pohjaeläimet ja bakteerit ja ne on esitetty lajien suomenkielisillä nimillä. Aineisto sisältää lajihavainnon lisäksi näytteenottoajankohdan, näytteenottomenetelmän sekä lajin peittävyysprosenttiarvion (0,1–100 %). Jos lajin peittävyyttä ei ole voitu arvioida luotettavasti sukelluksen aikana tai videokuvalta, on peittävyysarvoksi merkitty 0,001, mikä tarkoittaa lajin olevan läsnä kartoituspisteessä. Aineisto sisältää vain osan VELMUssa havaituista lajeista, mutta kaikki VELMU-ohjelmassa havaitut lajit löytyvät liitetiedoston listalta. Osa lajihavainnoista on ilmoitettu lajitasolla ja osa sukutasolla johtuen siitä, että osaa lajeista ei ole kyetty tunnistamaan lajilleen perustuen pelkkään videoaineistoon. The species observations have been grouped to the following groups: vascular plants, algae, water mosses, sessile bottom fauna, and bacteria by their scientific names. The data set includes the species information as well as sampling date, method, and the coverage percentage (0.1–100 %). If the coverage could not have been defined truthfully during diving or from the videos the coverage has been set to 0.001 which means that the species is present. The data set includes only part of the observed species in VELMU programme but the complete list of the species can be found as an attachment. Part of the species is shown in species level and other part in genus level because some species are not possible to identify reliably to the species level from the videos. Species groups are shown in the VELMU map service by different symbols and colors. Additional information on the VELMU programme from the webpage http://www.ymparisto.fi/fi-FI/VELMU \n\n***\n\nVELMU ARTOBSERVATIONER\n\nKartlagret innehåller en stor del av artobservationerna som observerats under VELMU-programmet. Artobservationerna har grupperats enligt organismgrupp: kärlväxter, alger, vattenmossor, bottendjur och bakterier och de är presenterade enligt de finska artnamnen. Kartlagret innehåller förutom artobservationen information över karteringstidpunkten, karteringsmetoden och artens täckningsgrad (0,1–100 %). Om artens täckningsgrad har under karteringstillfället inte kunnat för estimerat, har observationen fått täckningsgraden 0,001, vilket tyder på att arten har observerats på denna punkt. Kartlagret innehåller endast ett urval av arterna som observerats under VELMU-programmet, men alla observerade arterna finns listade i den bifogade filen. Tämän vuoksi kaikkien pohjaeläinhavaintojen peittävyysprosentiksi on merkitty arvo 0,001 paitsi sinisimpukan kohdalla (Mytilus trossulus), jonka peittävyys ilmoitetaan prosentteina (0–100 %). Peittävyysprosenttien arviointi on subjektiivista ja lajien tunnistamistarkkuus riippuu kartoitusmenetelmästä ja kartoittajasta. Sukelluksilla havainnot ovat tarkempia ja niissä päästään useimmiten lajitasolle, kun taas videoissa lajilleen tunnistaminen ei ole useinkaan mahdollista, sillä useimmat lajit vaativat lähempää tarkastelua. Matalilla alueilla drop-videohavaintoja on täydennetty haraamalla, jolloin lajimäärityksiä on voitu varmentaa. All observed species and their coverage percentages have been marked for each sampling site. Before 2011 some of the sessile bottom fauna coverages were listed as classes (1-3) which made it hard to convert them to absolute percentage coverages. Therefore, all the sessile bottom fauna observations’ coverage percent has been set to 0.001 to inform that the species is present but the coverage has not been estimated. The exception to this is the coverage of the blue mussel (Mytilus trossulus) which varies from 0 to 100%. Estimation of the coverage percentages is subjective and the identification accuracy is method and mapper specific. Diving samples are more accurate in species level, whereas genus level identification in video method is more realistic in case of tricky species that need microscopic examination. In shallow areas drop-down videos have been completed with rake samplings in order to get species level confirmations. Majority of the sites has been placed to the coastal areas based on the classes that the environmental variables form but also based on the random sampling. Some drop-down video sites have been located to a grid of 100 m interval. Vid varje karteringspunkt har det noterats vilka arter som observerats, samt deras täckningsgrader. I en del av ursprungsdatat hade täckningen av bottendjur märkts i klasser (1-3) före 2011, vilket lett till att täckningsgrader inte har varit möjligt att föra till artobservationsdatat. I stället har täcknigen för dessa arter märkts som 0,001, förutom Mytilus trossulus som har normala värden för täckningsgraden (0–100 %). Estimeringen av täckningsgrader är till en del subjektivt och noggrannheten av artidentifiering är beroende av karteringsmetod och till viss mån också av karteraren. Vid dyk är noggrannheten av artobservationerna bättre och där uppnår man ofta artnivå, medan för videon är det ofta inte möjligt att identifiera till arten, för de flesta arterna kräver noggrannare granskning. På grunda områden har videokartering ställvis kompletteras med räfsning, som gett noggrannare identifieringar. Största delen av karteringspunkterna har placerats enligt stratifierad slumpmässig sampling, baserat på variation i miljövariabler. "fi": "Kartoitusmenetelmäaineisto sisältää pistetietoja sukelluksilta ja videoinneilta vuosilta 2004–2016. Sukelluspisteet ovat pääosin linjasukelluksia, jotka useimmiten kattavat noin 100 metrin pituisen linjan, jossa arviointiruudut on sijoitettu 10 etäisyysmetrin tai yhden syvyysmetrin välein. Drop-videoinneissa kamera lasketaan veneestä kaapelin varassa veden alle lähelle pohjaa. Tämän jälkeen kuvataan kasvillisuutta ja pohjaa noin yhden minuutin ajan, niin että aineistoa kertyy vähintään 20 m² kokoiselta alueelta veneen liikkuessa pinnalla hitaasti. Osa drop-videoinneista on suoritettu kahlaamalla matalassa vedessä ja osaa on täydennetty haranäytteenotolla. Lisäksi yli 30 metrin syvyisiä pohjia on kuvattu ROV-videoinnilla (Remotely Operated Vehicle), eli kauko-ohjattavan robottivideokameran avulla. VELMU-ohjelman syvimmät videopisteet ulottuvat noin 80 metrin syvyyteen. Kukin kartoitusmenetelmäpiste sisältää näytteenottoajankohdan sekä aluetietoja kohteesta. Suurin osa näytepisteistä on sijoitettu rannikolle perustuen ympäristömuuttujien vaihtelun muodostamiin luokkiin ja satunnaisotantaan, minkä lisäksi osalla alueista drop-videointeja on suoritettu ruudukko-otantaan perustuen 100 metrin välein. Kartoituspisteet kattavat koko Suomen rannikon ja aineiston keräämiseen on osallistunut laaja joukko tutkimuslaitoksia ja yksityisiä toimijoita. Päävastuu sukellus- ja drop-videointikartoituksista on ollut Metsähallituksen luontopalveluilla. Myös rannikoiden ELY-keskukset (VarELY, KasELY, EpoELY, PopELY) ovat osallistuneet kartoituksiin. SYKE on tehnyt kaikki ROV-videoinnit. Aineistoon on sisällytetty VELMUn omien näytteenottokohteiden lisäksi myös ohjelmaan liittyvien erillisprojektien aineistoja. Scuba diving sites are mainly transect type of dives covering about 100 m long line where the sampling squares have been set every 10 m or every one depth meter. There are also some point type of diving sites in the data. In drop-down videos the video camera will be descended within a cable close to the sea bottom. After this the vegetation and the sea bottom will be videotaped for one minute so that the video covers an area at least 20 m2 while the boat is floating slowly on the surface. Part of the drop-down videos has been collected by wading in shallow water and some drop-down video tapes have been completed with rake samplings. More than 30 m deep sites have been videotaped by using the Remotely Operated Vehicle, ROV. The deepest sampling sites in VELMU programme are located in the depth of 80m. Every sampling site includes the sampling time and some information about the sampling area. Majority of the sites has been placed to the coastal areas based on the classes that the environmental variables form but also based on the random sampling. Some drop-down video sites have been placed to a grid of 100 m interval. The mapping sites cover the whole Finnish coast and collecting the data has been conducted by many institutions and private operators. The main responsibility for field sampling has been given to the Parks and Wildlife Finland. The coastal Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment have participated in the surveying. The Finnish Environment Institute has collected all the ROV video data. Some individual projects have been detached to the VELMU sampling data. The vector type of data has been created from a data table with coordinate information. Dykpunkterna är främst dyklinjer, som är vanligast ca 100m långa, med inventeringsrutor varje 10m längs linje eller varje en djup meter. Drop-video går ut på att man sänker en kamera till vattnet nära bottnet, med hjälp av en kabel. Efter detta filmas växtligheten och bottnet för ca en minut, så att videomaterial fås åtminstone för ett 20 m² stort område, när båten rör sig långsamt på ytan. En del av drop-video punkterna har inventerats genom att vada i grunt vatten och en del har kompletteras genom att räfsa vid punkten. Djupare lokaler, över 30m har också filmats med en ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle), alltså en fjärrkontrollerad robotkamera. De djupaste karterade punkterna i VELMU-programmet går anda ner till 80 meters djup. Varje karteringspunkt i kartlagret innehåller information om karteringstidpunkten samt information on punktens läge. Största delen av karteringspunkterna har placerats enligt stratifierad slumpmässig sampling, baserat på variation i miljövariabler. Utöver detta har en del av områden karteras enligt s.k. grid-metod där karteringspunkter är belägna i ett nätverk med, vanligast, 100m mellan punkterna. Karteringspunkterna täcker hela finska kusten och för insamlingen av datat har deltagit en stor mängd forskningsinstitut och privata aktörer. Huvudansvaret för dyk- och videoinventeringar har varit hos Forststyrelsens naturtjänster. Också kusternas NTM-centraler har deltagit i karteringarna. SYKE har genomfört alla ROV-karteringar. Luokitus helpottaa jäsentämään inventointiaineiston suurta tietomäärää ja sitä voidaan käyttää merialuesuunnittelun tukena. Luokituksen avulla voidaan saada nopeasti käsitys laajallakin alueella esiintyvistä pohjan biotoopeista. Biotoopit on karttatasossa visualisoitu eliöryhmien ja dominoivien lajien mukaan. Luokitus sisältää myös tiedon pohjan substraatista sekä valoisuusoloista.\nLuokitusta kehitetään biomassalaskujen osalta ja aineistoa päivitetään työn edetessä. \n\n***\n\nHUB BIOTOPE CLASSIFICATION\n\nThe data set shows the VELMU programme dive and video data converted to the HELCOM HUB biotope classification. The classification helps to understand vast set of information of the inventory data and it can be used to support marine spatial planning. The classification enables to understand easily the presence of the wide-ranging bottom biotopes. Biotopes have been visualized in the data set by species groups and dominant species. The classification includes also information on the bottom substrate and light conditions.\n\nThe classification will be developed by the biomass calculations and the data will be updated as the work progresses. \n\n***\n\nHUB-BIOTOPKLASSIFICERINGSSYSTEM\n\nKartlagret innehåller video- och dykdata insamlat inom VELMU-programmet, som har klassificerats enligt HELCOM HUB-biotopklassificeringssystemet. Klassificeringen hjälper till att tolka den stora informationsmängden i inventeringsdata på ett sätt som kan utnyttjas vid planering av marina områden. Med hjälp av klassificeringen kan man få lätt en helhetsbild över förekomsten av undervattensbiotoper, till och mid över rätt vidsträckta områden. Biotoperna är klassificerade enligt de dominerande organismgrupperna och de dominerande arterna. Klassificeringssystemet innehåller också information om bottensubstrat och ljusförhållanden.\n\nKlassificeringen kommer att vidareutvecklas vad gäller biomassakalkyleringarna och kartlagret kommer att uppdateras vartefter arbetet fortskrider."

Alkuperäisiä valokuvia voi tiedustella Metsähallitukselta, essi.keskinen@metsa.fi\n\n***\n\nPHOTOGRAPHS AND VIDEOS\n\nPhotographs and videos dataset is a combination of videos and over 2000 photographs shot by the field staff in the VELMU programme around the Finnish coast. The pictures show close-ups of species but also wider views of underwater habitats as well as sampling methods. The data has been produced by the Parks and Wildlife Finland and the coastal Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment and will be updated whenever new photos are available. Vector type of data has been created from a data table with coordinate information. The original photos can be requested from Essi Keskinen, the Parks and Wildlife Finland essi.keskinen@metsa.fi\n\n***\n\nFOTOGRAFIER OCH VIDEON \n\nFoto- och videokartlagret innehåller över 2000 fotografier och flera videon, som fältpersonalen har fotograferat eller filmat under VELMU-karteringar. Datat har producerats av Forststyrelsens naturtjänster och Egentliga-Finlands NTM-central och den uppdateras med nya bilder. Vektorlagret har producerats från tabeller, med koordinater. "en": "A prospective, randomized double-blind placebo controlled dietary intervention trial in 439 pregnant women. Intervention involves randomization of pregnant women in a double-blind manner to receive either probiotics, n-3 long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (fish oil), combination of the two or placebo from early pregnancy onwards. The recruitment to the study started in October 2013 and was completed in July 2017. The follow-up visits of mothers and their children continue until child's age of two years. Additionally, four to five years study visits are planned. The impact of the intervention on health of the mother, particularly incidence of gestational diabetes during pregnancy and adiposity, risk of type two diabetes and cardiovascular health at postpartum will be evaluated. The results will be reported as scientific publications."

Satelliittikuvista voidaan tuottaa lähes reaaliaikaisia havaittuja tulva-alueita.\n\nHavaitut tulva-alueet on saatavilla tulva- ja tulkintakohtaisina karttatasoina. Samastakin tulvasta voi olla saatavilla useita eri karttatasoja, jos siitä on tulkittu tulva-alueet useista eri satelliitti- ja ilmakuvista. Toisaalta jostakin vanhemmasta tulvasta voi olla saatavilla tulvarajaus, josta on tiedossa vain pelkkä vuosi. Paikkatietoaineisto sisältää myös havainnoidun/tulkitun alueen rajauksen (esim. satelliitti- tai ilmakuvan rajaama alue). "en": "The current proposal seeks for novel methods to replace synthetic polymers in microplastics (nano\r\nand micro particles) with environmentally friendly cellulosic materials. We suggest two epochmaking\r\nmethods for cellulose regeneration: cellulose is shown to micro phase separate from its\r\nsolution in ionic liquids 1) upon cooling and 2) when transferred from ionic liquid to aqueous\r\nmedia. Both processes result in formation of spherical beads of varying morphology. The beads\r\ncan be chemically modified to obtain biodegradable benign materials with designed properties."

"en": "The corpus consists of the correspondence of Elias Lönnrot with private individuals as well as institutions from 1823 until Lönnrot's death. Elias Lönnrot was the creator of the Kalevala, medical doctor and professor of language (1802 – 1884).\nThe letters and drafts of letters belong to the Archive of the Finnish Literature Society and have been transliterated for the project Elias Lönnrot’s Letters Online, http://lonnrot.finlit.fi/omeka/ . \nThe whole corpus contains 4 511 letters and drafts, of which 3354 are mostly written in Swedish and 1157 mostly in Finnish. The largest sub collection consists of over 250 letters sent to one individual recipient.\n\nThe corpus will be published as two sub corpora, one for the letters mostly written in Finnish and one for the letters mostly written in Swedish, at https://korp.csc.fi"

"en": "Data Management Plan for Academy of Finland, 27.09.2016\r\nThis project will investigate the effect of birth asphyxia as a risk factor for mental disorders on the functional development of the serotonergic system in an animal model. Using most electrophysiological measurements, I will address if birth asphyxia increases the firing activity of serotonergic neurons and alters how serotonin release is controlled. I will test if this is mediated by the activation of the stress axis by birth asphyxia and the resulting hyperelevated levels of the stress hormone arginine vasopressin. Finally, I will explore if birth asphyxia alters long-range interactions in the developing brain and if these could be mediated by altered serotonergic tone. The data I will collect are mostly time series of brain activity in vitro and in vivo which will generate large volumes of data. I will analyse these with appropriate methods to answer the questions as mentioned above."
