"en": "The samples are calotte plates designed and manufactured at VTT MIKES. They are calibration samples with internal and external diameters. Some calotte plates also have rough patterns at the back surface. The samples exist in four sizes and two materials, steel and aluminum. Samples were measured to determine the scale accuracy of the measurement in different scales and to explore the possibility of scale calibration. Another goal was to examine the effect of sample material on measurement accuracy and the measurement uncertainty caused by determination of sample surface. "en": "This is the pilot phase dataset for the AllRead study. In the pilot studies of our project, the development of reading skills of children in grades 1–2 was examined using different versions of a digital learning game. The research material contains .csv files compiled from the game log data of the children who participated in the study and the results of the assessment tasks integrated into the game. In addition, the material contains the responses of the guardian survey converted into numerical data (.csv), which mapped the children's demographic background information as well as information about the child's learning to read and any reading difficulties that may have occurred in the immediate family.\r\n\r\nThe first part of the data was collected in a pilot study carried out in 2019, which compared the results of the groups that played the Ekapeli English game and the control group (n 17) playing the GraphoLearn English phoneme game in reading English and Finnish words.\r\n\r\nThe second part of the data was collected in a research intervention carried out in 2020–2021, which tested the functionality of the game Professor Pörröpää and Lukukupla with children in grades 1–2 in 17 classes, who were randomly divided into playing groups and control groups. 223 children participated in the study, of which 124 played the research game and 99 belonged to the control group.",

Lisäksi aineisto sisältää numerodataksi (.csv) muutetut huoltajainkyselyn vastaukset, joissa kartoitettiin lasten demografisia taustatietoja sekä tietoja lapsen lukemaan oppimisesta ja lähisuvussa mahdollisesti ilmenneistä lukivaikeuksista.\r\n\r\nAineistojen ensimmäinen osio kerättiin vuonna 2019 tehdyssä pilottitutkimuksessa, jossa verrattiin Ekapeli englanti -peliä pelanneiden ryhmien ja GraphoLearn English phoneme -peliä pelanneen kontrolliryhmän (n 17) tuloksia englannin- ja suomenkielisten sanojen lukemisessa. Pelaavaan tutkimusryhmään (n 55) kuului kaksi 2-luokkaa ja yksi 1–2-luokkalaisista koostuva ryhmä. Kontrolliryhmänä (n 17) toimi yksi 2-luokka. "fi": "Tämä Kikosa-kokoelmaan kuuluva aineisto sisältää 4 videoitua ja litteroitua ryhmähaastattelua, jotka on kerätty Oulun yliopiston tutkimushankkeessa Kielellinen ja ei-kielellinen vuorovaikutus monikulttuurisessa arjessa (LinBo). Hankkeen tavoitteena on diskurssinanalyyttinen ja keskustelunanalyyttinen tutkimus Suomeen muualta muuttaneiden henkilöiden ja heidän perheenjäsentensä arkisista vuorovaikutustilanteista. Kyseisessä osatutkimuksessa on selvitetty ryhmähaastattelujen avulla ihmisten kokemuksia kielenkäyttötilanteista ja sitä, millainen merkitys eri kielillä on haastateltaville eri elämäntilanteissa. Erityisinä kiinnostuksen kohteina ovat olleet vähemmistökielet ja niiden käyttömahdollisuudet Suomessa sekä itse haastattelutilanteessa tapahtuva vuorovaikutus. Tutkimuksen tavoitteina on ollut esimerkiksi tarkastella sitä, miten osallistujat käyttävät eri kieliä (monikielisyys) ja kehollisia keinoja, kuten katseita, eleitä ja ilmeitä (multimodaalisuus) vahvistaakseen osallisuuttaan arkisissa vuorovaikutustilanteissa ja sitä kautta yhteiskunnassa."
