Dataset consisting of vibrational data. \r\nThe data has been collected using an 9:1 scaled azimuth thruster testbench with 11 sensors; 2 torque transducers, 4 accelerometers and 5 rotational encoders. 2 Bosch Rexroth motors used to drive and simulate load on the system. The sensors and motors were hooked up to National Instruments DAQs and LabVIEW software was used to control the whole system. Failures created by gluing shims onto pinion of bevel gear pairing."

"en": "Cellulose is the most abundant biopolymer on Earth and an essential sustainable resource to humanity. Native cellulose exists in a crystalline nanofiber, cellulose microfibril (CMF). CMFs in higher plants are believed to have identical nanoscale morphology with a fibril width of 3 nm due to the shared biosynthetic mechanisms. However, cellulose-rich plant tissues have thicker CMFs, including cotton fiber with 5-nm-wide CMFs. This size variation is puzzling and beyond the current understanding of plant cellulose biosynthesis. Here, to better understand the structural evolution of cotton CMFs during the late development stage, we will use microfocus X-ray scattering to probe the ultrastructural change of never-dried cotton fiber in various drying conditions. The results will help us understand the formation mechanism of thick CMFs in cotton. They will provide insights into the morphogenesis of higher plant CMFs and inspiration for fine-tuning the morphology of cellulose nanomaterials."

"en": "Mycelium composite has attracted significant attention in the last two decades for its functionality and sustainability. While the mycelium formation is essential to the production of the composites, the fungal growth results in the decay of the cell wall structure, which is thought to be detrimental to the composite properties. Here, we utilize the wood decay to activate the biomass as a starting material for wood-based carbon materials. We expect that the wood decay will result in more porous cell wall structures, while the mycelium growth will contribute to the increase of nitrogen in the biomass due to the deposition of chitin as the main component of fungal cell walls. To examine the effects of fungal effects on the ultrastructure of wood, we will conduct a simultaneous S/WAXS experiment of mycelium composite. The results will provide insight into the structural changes and will contribute to designing of activation process of wood by fungal growth"

(2025) Progressive degradation of acetylated wood by the brown rot fungi Coniophora puteana and Rhodonia placenta. Wood Science and Technology 59:13. https://doi.org/10.1007/s00226-024-01620-8. The experimental methods are described in brief below; further details can be found in the publication. Scots pine sapwood samples were acetylated in neat acetic anhydride to 9% or 18% weight percent gain (WPG) or left untreated to act as reference. The samples were exposed to brown rot decay in a stacked-sample decay test conducted in test tubes. Each replicate tube received 6 reference or acetylated samples stacked on top of each other (sample positions 1-6 from top to bottom) over nutrient agar inoculated with Coniophora puteana (N = 7) or Rhodonia placenta (N = 5). The different wood-fungus combinations were incubated for different durations until the visible fungal mycelium reached the top of the topmost block in one replicate tube. The samples were weighed before modification, after modification, at the end of the decay test, and after the decay test to determine their WPG, moisture content at the end of the decay test, and mass loss due to decay. After decay, 15 samples from every wood-fungus combination were selected for acetyl content measurement and FTIR spectroscopy. Acetyl contents were measured on powdered samples by saponification followed by HPLC quantification of the liberated acetic acid. FTIR spectra were measured in the 400-4000 cm-1 spectral range in triplicate on powdered samples using an ATR accessory. For further analysis, the spectra were cut to 800-1800 cm-1 range, baseline corrected (third degree polynomial subtraction), smoothed (Savitzky-Golay procedure with a second-order polynomial and a 15-point window), and normalised (unit vector normalisation). The \"Mass data and acetyl content.csv\" -file gives the sample identifiers (ID, sample type, test fungus, tube number, sample position) and measured mass data of all samples, and the acetyl contents of the selected samples. Masses minit, mmod, mwet, and mdec are the initial unmodified dry mass, the modified dry mass, the decaying wet mass, and the decayed dry mass, respectively. Acetyl contents (%) are given on a decayed wood basis. The “Unprocessed FTIR spectra_reference”, “Unprocessed FTIR spectra_9%”, and “Unprocessed FTIR spectra_18%” -files contain the unprocessed FTIR spectra of the reference, 9% WPG and 18% WPG samples (see the \"Mass data and acetyl content.csv\" -file for sample identifiers). The “Preprocessed FTIR spectra_reference”, “Preprocessed FTIR spectra_9%”, and “Preprocessed FTIR spectra_18%” -files in turn contain the preprocessed FTIR spectra of reference, 9% WPG and 18% WPG samples."

"en": "This dataset contains reflectance and transmittance data for 16 dominant peatland vascular plant species measured in Finland and Estonia, along with reflectance measurements for peatland litter measured as fresh and dry, across wavelengths ranging from 350 to 2500 nm. For each vascular plant species, a total of nine leaf samples were measured, and for litter, a total of twelve samples were measured. For the vascular plants, the dataset also includes the species, the measured leaf side (adaxial=upper, or abaxial=lower), the measured quantity (directional-hemispherical reflectance factor, DHRF or directional-hemispherical transmittance factor, (DHTF)), the location of the sampling site (peatland name, municipality, country), the measurement date, and the sample ID. For litter, the dataset includes, in addition to the conical-conical reflectance factor (CCRF), the location of the sampling site (peatland name, municipality, country), the measurement date, whether the sample was fresh or dry, and the sample ID. "en": "Abstract Background Primary healthcare centres are burdened by the management of patients with skin conditions, while general practitioners might lack the expertise to assess skin changes accurately. The traditional care chain for skin findings is a multistage process that can cause delayed diagnosis and treatment, distressing the patient. This study aimed to determine whether adding a dermatologist to the primary care team would streamline the care pathway of patients with skin conditions, while examining levels of satisfaction among patients and healthcare professionals. Methods A quasi-experimental multicentre study was conducted in three primary health centres in Finland. A dermatologist was integrated into two of the centres (intervention) but not the third (control). Data on timing of diagnosis and treatment and number of contacts were collected from records and analysed per care path. The Patient Enablement Instrument (PEI) and Net Promoter Score (NPS) were used to measure the patient’s experience of the appointment. NPS and professional satisfaction queries were used to measure professional satisfaction. Results In total 186 intervention and 176 control patients were included, with 38 primary care professionals. "en": "In the context of freshwater crisis, high-resolution data are critical for sustainable water management and economic development. Yet there is a dearth of water withdrawal and scarcity data, no matter for total or subsector amounts of prefectural cities. In administrative and territorial scope, we accounted for water withdrawal of all 63 economic-socio-environmental sectors for all 343 prefectural cities, i.e., 21,609 sub-sectors in China, under a general framework based on 2015 data. Spatial and economic-sector resolution is improved compared with previous studies, by partitioning general sectors into 11,152 industrial and 1,715 agricultural sub-sectors. Construction of these datasets was based on selection of 16 driving forces. We connected a size indicator with corresponding water-withdrawal efficiency. We further accounted for total blue-water withdrawal, and quantitative water scarcity status. Then we compared different scopes and methods of official accounts and statistics from various water datasets. These disaggregated and complete data could be used in input-output models for municipal design and governmental plan, to help gain in-depth insights into subsector water-saving priorities from local economic activities."

"en": "This upload contains density functional theory (DFT) calculations of CsSn(Cl/Br/I)3 perovskite alloy. The calculations were performed for a study, where the DFT data was used to train an energy predicting machine learning model for CsSn(Cl/Br/I)3. The code related to the study is available through GitLab (https://gitlab.com/cest-group/learnsolar-cssnclbri) The data is divided into four data sets. For each set, the atomic structure data with total energies and forces has been separated into an ASE (Atomic Simulation Environment) extended XYZ file. Additional information on the atomic structures (e.g. space groups) is provided in JSON format. The data sets are: sp_train_set Single point DFT calculations of 16 000 algorithmically generated CsSn(Cl/Br/I)3 structures of four different space groups: Pm-3m, P4/mbm, I4/mcm, and Pnma. Lattice parameters and atomic positions are determined through Vegard's law, but random deviations have been added to the atom positions, tilting angles of the Sn coordination octahedra, cell volume, cell height-to-width ratio, and some lattice vector angles. Cl/Br/I configurations are randomized. This data set was used to fit an initial machine learning model. The atomic structures included were selected using a clustering algorithm to accelerate learning. sp_test_set Single point DFT calculations of 2 600 atomic structures similar to sp_train_set. The Cl/Br/I compositions are uniformly represented, having two atomic structures per composition and space group. This data was used for testing the machine learning model. al_data DFT relaxation structure snapshots from the active learning run that was performed to improve the machine learning model's structure relaxation accuracy. There are 4230 structure snapshots in total. relax_test_set 100 DFT relaxations used for testing the machine learning relaxation accuracy. There are 2881 structure snapshots in total. Both initial (relax_test_set_initial.xyz) and final (relax_test_set_relaxed.xyz) atomic geometries are included."

"en": "Summary: This is the collection of datasets for a manuscript in progress titled “Femtosecond-laser-surface-nanostructured glass for building integrated solar concentrator”. Data in embargo due to peer review process. Methods: The experimental and calculation methods for generating the datasets are described in the original paper. File Description: Unzip \"Laser glass.7z\" using free and open source software 7-zip. The file contains following content: \\IMG_SEM_1\\ - This folder comprises raw Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images captured from the surface normal perspective. Each image is in .tif format with a resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels. The file name begins with the laser scan speed, ranging from 200 to 2000 (in mm/s). The laser scan speed is followed by the zooming rate. Some file names include \"_2\" at the end, signifying images taken from a different area or captured with adjusted brightness/contrast settings. Partial sections of images taken at a 5000x zoom level were used in Figure 1 in original paper. \\IMG_SEM_2\\ - This folder comprises raw cross-sectional Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) images taken after cutting the sample through laser textured area. Each image is in .tif format with a resolution of 1024 × 768 pixels. The file name begins with the laser scan speed, ranging from 200 to 1800 (in mm/s). \\XRD\\ - This folder contains raw X-ray Diffraction (XRD) data utilized for creating Figure 2a. Additionally, the folder includes automatically generated metadata files that detail the measurement conditions. Within this folder, Ref.csv provides the XRD spectrum of the unprocessed substrate, while Main.csv contains the spectrum of a sample processed with a laser at a speed of 200 mm/s. \\PL\\ - This folder contains photoluminescence (PL) spectra data. The file PL_1.csv was used to generate Figure 2c, while PL_2.csv was used for Figure 2d. The data in both files are organized in an X-Y-Y... format, with each dataset labeled according to the corresponding figure legend. Note that signals below 450 nm were filtered. \\RAMAN.csv - contains raw Raman spectroscopy data used to generate Figure 2b. The dataset includes three columns: the first represents the wavenumber values, which serve as the X-axis for the plot. The second and third columns correspond to the Y-axis data, labeled as \"Ref\" and \"Main.\" \"Ref\" represents the Raman spectrum of the unprocessed substrate, while \"Main\" corresponds to the spectrum of a sample processed with a laser at a speed of 200 mm/s. Note the signal before ~80 cm-1 is filtered and the sharp peak at 416.433 cm-1 is due to noise and excluded from the plot. \\Spectrophotometry\\ - The folder contains Spectrophotometry data used to generate Figure 3. The file Spectra_1.csv includes datasets for reflectance (%R), transmittance (%T), and absorptance (%A), each labeled according to the legends of Figures 3a, 3b, and 3c, respectively. Spectra_2.csv provides data on total reflectance (R_tot_*), diffuse reflectance (R_dif_*), and their ratio (R_*%), corresponding to Figure 3d. The datasets in Spectra_2.csv are organized by processing speed *(mm/s) of the samples. \\IV\\ - The folder contains current-voltage (I-V) measurement data. The file IV_1.csv was used to plot Figure 4c and to calculate the relative photocurrent presented in Figure 4d. The file IV_2.csv was used to plot Supplementary Figure S2 and to calculate the optical power efficiency. \\Contact_angle\\ - The folder contains contact angle measurement data. Stat.csv includes advancing and receding angles shown in Figure 5c. 400_Adv.mp4 and 400_Rec.mp4 contain the advancing and receding angle of the 400 mm/s sample, respectively.
