The data files included in these packages are tab- or space-delimited text files with the file extension .dat.\n\nAll filenames start with a three-character code xxx that determines the tide gauge (1-letter symbol) and the emission scenario (2 digits). "fi": "Metsäpeuran vasanhoitoon sopivien elinympäristöjen ennustekartat perustuvat tilastolliseen mallitukseen, joka on tehty vakiintuneilla mallitusmenetelmillä. Tämä mallitustyö aloitettiin vuonna 2019. Mallituksessa metsäpeuran kesäaikaisia vasanhoitoelinympäristöjen resursseja kuvaavana aineistona käytettiin valtakunnan metsien monilähdeaineistoa (ML-VMI) vuodelta 2015 – 2021 sekä Maamittauslaitoksen (MML) ja SYKE:n vektorimuotoista tietokantoja. VMI-aineiston kuva-alkion (pikselin) koko vastaa maan pinnalla 16 m × 16 m aluetta. VMI-monilähdeaineisto luokiteltiin puulajin ja tilavuuden mukaan puulajikohtaisin metsiin, joista ennustettiin metsän ikä. Lisäksi maisema-aineistoon liitettiin Maanmittauslaitoksen ja SYKE:n tietokannoista eri turvemaatyyppien ojitusten määrää. \nMetsäpeura-aineistona käytettiin MetsäpeuraLIFE-hankkeen aikana ja sitä ennen pannoitettujen vasallisten metsäpeuravaatimien (naaraiden) GPS-paikannuksia (n = 40 vasanhoitojaksoa ja 33 vasallista vaadinta vuosina 2011 - 2019) Suomenselältä. Koko aineistosta valittiin satunnaisesti yksi paikannuspiste kutakin vasallista naarasta ja vuorokautta kohti vasan syntymästä heinäkuun loppuun asti. Kullekin GPS-paikannuspisteelle arvottiin vastaavasti yksi satunnaispiste 20 kilometrin säteeltä GPS-paikannuksesta. Aineistossa oli yhteensä noin 13000 riippumatonta havaintoa ja satunnaispistettä. Kullekin GPS-havainnolle ja satunnaispisteelle muodostettiin 100, 200 ja 500 metrin säteiset ympyrän muotoiset alueet eli vyöhykkeet, joista esitarkastelujen perusteella valittiin varsinaiseen analyysiin ja ennustekartan tuottamiseen 500 metrin vyöhykeaineisto, jonka tuottama malli oli esitarkastelussa ennustekyvyltään paras. \nMallitusta varten vasallisten metsäpeuravaadinten paikannuspisteen ja satunnaispisteiden 500 metrin vyöhykkeen sisälle muodostettiin maisema-aineistoista kullekin oma rakenne, joka kuvaa vyöhykkeiden yksilöllisiä absoluuttisia tai suhteellisia rakenneominaisuuksia. Näin saatiin havaintopisteiden, että niitä vastaavien verrokkipisteiden ympäriltä 500 metrin säteelle kullekin useita maiseman rakennetta kuvaavia tunnuksia. Jokaiselle havaintopiste-verrokkipisteparille tehtiin tämän jälkeen metsäpeuran maisemarakennetta selittävä malli (binominen sekamalli, binomial GLMM) askeltavalla menetelmällä (R-ohjelmisto, lme4 paketin glmer-funktio), jossa satunnaismuuttujina oli naaraan tunniste ja vuosi. Mallin ennustekykyä mitattiin ristiinvalidoinnilla (crossvalidation).\nMetsäpeuran elinympäristön rakennepiirteistä sisällytettiin kaikki potentiaalisesti lisääntymiseen soveltuvat resurssit. Maiseman rakennepiirteitä käytettiin mallissa selittävinä tekijöinä. Näitä olivat metsän ikä (vuosina), avosuon osuus, korven osuus, rämeen osuus, ojittamattoman suon osuus, ojitetun suon osuus, kasvupaikan rehevyys erikseen mineraalimaille ja turvemaille. \nSeuraavassa vaiheessa sopivalle alueelle interpoloitiin parhaan mallin perusteella VMI, Maanmittauslaitoksen ja SYKE:n aineistojen perusteella kukin aineiston pikselille mallin antama todennäköisyys välillä 0 – 1 (prosenteiksi muutettuna 0–100 %) sille, että se edustaa vasaansa hoitavalle vaatimelle sopivaa elinympäristöä. Ennustekarttojen pienin erottuva yksikkö vastaa maastossa 100 x 100 metrin aluetta. Ennustekartoissa on esitetty ne pikselit (ruudut), joissa esiintyy mallissa olleita maiseman rakenteita. Muuten interpolointi jätti ruudun tyhjäksi, jotka sijoittuivat yleensä vasallisille vaatimille merkityksettömiä alueita kuten vesistöt, asutus ja pellot. Mallin tuottamat ennustearvot on luokiteltava tarkoituksenmukaisella tavalla, jotta ennustearvot tulevat selkeästi esille.\n\nMallinnuksen perusteella vasallisille metsäpeuroille sopivat elinympäristöalueet voidaan ennustaa silkkaa arvausta paremmin eli noin 72 prosentissa tapauksista oikein. Todennäköisimmät metsäpeuralle sopiviksi ennustetut alueet ovat ojittamattomien avosoiden, keskirehevien turvemaiden, rehevien mineraalimaiden ja pienvesien muodostamaa mosaiikkia. Ihmishäiriön tai saalistuksen vaikutusta vaadinten tilankäyttöön tutkitaan jatkossa eri mallinnuksilla ja alueellisilla mittakaavoilla. \nRuutukohtaiset ennustearvot luokitellaan kuuteen luokkaan, joissa on seuraavat luokkavälit: \n\n- 0 - 0.2, Erittäin heikosti sopiva\n- 0.2 – 0.33, Heikosti sopiva\n- 0.33 – 0.5, Välttävä\n- 0.5 – 0.66, Hyvin sopiva\n- 0.66 – 1.0, Erittäin hyvin sopiva\n\n#### Projekti ja rahoitus\n\nMetsäpeuraLIFE-hanke (LIFE15NAT/FI/000881) on saanut rahoitusta Euroopan unionin LIFE-ohjelmasta. Tämä ennustekartta ja sen kuvauksessa esitetyt näkemykset ja mielipiteet ovat kuitenkin tekijöiden omia, eivätkä ne välttämättä heijasta Euroopan unionin tai CINEA:n näkemyksiä. "fi": "Metsäpeuran vasanhoitoon sopivien elinympäristöjen ennustekartat perustuvat tilastolliseen mallitukseen, joka on tehty vakiintuneilla mallitusmenetelmillä. Tämä mallitustyö aloitettiin vuonna 2019. Mallituksessa metsäpeuran kesäaikaisia vasanhoitoelinympäristöjen resursseja kuvaavana aineistona käytettiin valtakunnan metsien monilähdeaineistoa (ML-VMI) vuodelta 2015 – 2021 sekä Maamittauslaitoksen (MML) ja SYKE:n vektorimuotoista tietokantoja. VMI-aineiston kuva-alkion (pikselin) koko vastaa maan pinnalla 16 m × 16 m aluetta. VMI-monilähdeaineisto luokiteltiin puulajin ja tilavuuden mukaan puulajikohtaisin metsiin, joista ennustettiin metsän ikä. Lisäksi maisema-aineistoon liitettiin Maanmittauslaitoksen ja SYKE:n tietokannoista eri turvemaatyyppien ojitusten määrää. \nMetsäpeura-aineistona käytettiin MetsäpeuraLIFE-hankkeen aikana ja sitä ennen pannoitettujen vasallisten metsäpeuravaatimien (naaraiden) GPS-paikannuksia (n = 40 vasanhoitojaksoa ja 33 vasallista vaadinta vuosina 2011 - 2019) Suomenselältä. Koko aineistosta valittiin satunnaisesti yksi paikannuspiste kutakin vasallista naarasta ja vuorokautta kohti vasan syntymästä heinäkuun loppuun asti. Kullekin GPS-paikannuspisteelle arvottiin vastaavasti yksi satunnaispiste 20 kilometrin säteeltä GPS-paikannuksesta. Aineistossa oli yhteensä noin 13000 riippumatonta havaintoa ja satunnaispistettä. Kullekin GPS-havainnolle ja satunnaispisteelle muodostettiin 100, 200 ja 500 metrin säteiset ympyrän muotoiset alueet eli vyöhykkeet, joista esitarkastelujen perusteella valittiin varsinaiseen analyysiin ja ennustekartan tuottamiseen 500 metrin vyöhykeaineisto, jonka tuottama malli oli esitarkastelussa ennustekyvyltään paras. \nMallitusta varten vasallisten metsäpeuravaadinten paikannuspisteen ja satunnaispisteiden 500 metrin vyöhykkeen sisälle muodostettiin maisema-aineistoista kullekin oma rakenne, joka kuvaa vyöhykkeiden yksilöllisiä absoluuttisia tai suhteellisia rakenneominaisuuksia. Näin saatiin havaintopisteiden, että niitä vastaavien verrokkipisteiden ympäriltä 500 metrin säteelle kullekin useita maiseman rakennetta kuvaavia tunnuksia. Jokaiselle havaintopiste-verrokkipisteparille tehtiin tämän jälkeen metsäpeuran maisemarakennetta selittävä malli (binominen sekamalli, binomial GLMM) askeltavalla menetelmällä (R-ohjelmisto, lme4 paketin glmer-funktio), jossa satunnaismuuttujina oli naaraan tunniste ja vuosi. Mallin ennustekykyä mitattiin ristiinvalidoinnilla (crossvalidation).\nMetsäpeuran elinympäristön rakennepiirteistä sisällytettiin kaikki potentiaalisesti lisääntymiseen soveltuvat resurssit. Maiseman rakennepiirteitä käytettiin mallissa selittävinä tekijöinä. Näitä olivat metsän ikä (vuosina), avosuon osuus, korven osuus, rämeen osuus, ojittamattoman suon osuus, ojitetun suon osuus, kasvupaikan rehevyys erikseen mineraalimaille ja turvemaille. \nSeuraavassa vaiheessa sopivalle alueelle interpoloitiin parhaan mallin perusteella VMI, Maanmittauslaitoksen ja SYKE:n aineistojen perusteella kukin aineiston pikselille mallin antama todennäköisyys välillä 0 – 1 (prosenteiksi muutettuna 0–100 %) sille, että se edustaa vasaansa hoitavalle vaatimelle sopivaa elinympäristöä. Ennustekarttojen pienin erottuva yksikkö vastaa maastossa 100 x 100 metrin aluetta. Ennustekartoissa on esitetty ne pikselit (ruudut), joissa esiintyy mallissa olleita maiseman rakenteita. Muuten interpolointi jätti ruudun tyhjäksi, jotka sijoittuivat yleensä vasallisille vaatimille merkityksettömiä alueita kuten vesistöt, asutus ja pellot. Mallin tuottamat ennustearvot on luokiteltava tarkoituksenmukaisella tavalla, jotta ennustearvot tulevat selkeästi esille.\n\nMallinnuksen perusteella vasallisille metsäpeuroille sopivat elinympäristöalueet voidaan ennustaa silkkaa arvausta paremmin eli noin 72 prosentissa tapauksista oikein. Todennäköisimmät metsäpeuralle sopiviksi ennustetut alueet ovat ojittamattomien avosoiden, keskirehevien turvemaiden, rehevien mineraalimaiden ja pienvesien muodostamaa mosaiikkia. Ihmishäiriön tai saalistuksen vaikutusta vaadinten tilankäyttöön tutkitaan jatkossa eri mallinnuksilla ja alueellisilla mittakaavoilla. \nRuutukohtaiset ennustearvot luokitellaan kuuteen luokkaan, joissa on seuraavat luokkavälit: \n\n- 0 - 0.2, Erittäin heikosti sopiva\n- 0.2 – 0.33, Heikosti sopiva\n- 0.33 – 0.5, Välttävä\n- 0.5 – 0.66, Hyvin sopiva\n- 0.66 – 1.0, Erittäin hyvin sopiva\n\n#### Projekti ja rahoitus\n\nMetsäpeuraLIFE-hanke (LIFE15NAT/FI/000881) on saanut rahoitusta Euroopan unionin LIFE-ohjelmasta. Tämä ennustekartta ja sen kuvauksessa esitetyt näkemykset ja mielipiteet ovat kuitenkin tekijöiden omia, eivätkä ne välttämättä heijasta Euroopan unionin tai CINEA:n näkemyksiä. "fi": "Kangasmetsien ravinnesuhdekokeiden aineisto (K_Ravsuh). Koesarjan tavoitteena on selvittää pääravinteiden ja pääravinteiden rinnalla annettavien muiden ravinteiden ravinnesuhteiden vaikutuksia maan ominaisuuksiin ja puuston kehitykseen. Koesarja koostuu pääosin vuosina 1958-1965 perustetuista lannoituskokeista, joissa käsittelyinä on kolme ja/tai neljä ravinnetta: N, P, K ja/tai Ca yksin ja kaikkina yhdistelminä (2^3 ja 2^4). Lannoituskäsittelyt on toistettu määräajoin, noin 5-10 vuoden välein. Puuston ja maan ravinnetilaa on seurattu maa- ja neulasanalyysein ja puuston kehitystä määräaikaisin mittauksin. Koesarja on maantutkimuksen pitkäaikaisin edelleen seurannassa oleva koesarja. Osa koesarjan kokeista on perustettu jo taimikkovaiheessa, joten kokeet antavat hyvän läpileikkauksen lannoituksen vaikutuksista koko kiertoajan pituudella. Lannoituskäsittelyjä toistamalla on tutkittu toistuvien lannoituskäsittelyjen aikaansaamakasvua ja taloudellista tuotosta ja lannoitukseen liittyviä riskejä puustolle ja ympäristölle. Koesarjassa kokeita on ollut alun perin lähes kaksisataa, joista jäljellä ovat ne kohteet, jotka ovat säilyneet ennalta määrittelemiltä hakkuilta, erilaisilta tuhoilta ja rakentamiselta. Jäljellä olevia kokeita pyritään jatkamaan päätehakkuuvaiheeseen asti. Kokeet toimivat myös tutkimusreservinä tulevaisuudessa toteutettavien seurantojen lähdemateriaaleina."

Koesarjan tavoitteena on selvittää maan kunnostuksen metsän uudistamisen yhteydessä käytettävien erilaisien maanmuokkausmenetelmien tarjoamia mahdollisuuksia metsänviljelyn onnistumisen parantamiseksi ja uuden metsän kehityksen nopeuttamiseksi. Koesarjaan kuuluu 11 koetta, joissa koejärjestelynä on split-plot menetelmä; pääkäsittelyinä on 3 muokkaustapaa (muokkaamaton, palleauraus, täysmuokkaus) ja alakäsittelyinä 4 lannoitustapaa. Näissä kokeissa N-lannoitus on toistettu määräajoin. Koesarjan 4:ssä satunnaistetussa kokeessa selvitetään myös maanmuokkauksen yhteydessä kerta-annoksena käytettyjen maanparannusaineiden merkitystä. Lisäksi kolmessa kokeessa pääkäsittelyinä olevien puunkorjuu- ja/tai muokkaustapojen alakäsittelyiksi voidaan tarkastella metsänhoidon toimenpiteitä puuston kehittymisen myötä. Tämän koesarjan kokeet on perustettu v. 1975-1991. Kokeet ovat pääosin saavuttaneet ensiharvennusvaiheen, ja saatujen tulosten perusteella laaditaan kokonaisvaltainen selvitys erilaisten maanmuokkaus- ja lannoituskäsittelyjen vaikutuksesta metsien uudistumiseen ja kasvuun. Saatujen tulosten pohjalta tarkastellaan käytössä olevien metsänhoitosuositusten tarkistustarvetta."

"en": "Geometric earthworks are evidence of ancient human activity in western Brazilian Amazonia. We used a review of existing and new data to map earthworks across 27,569 km2 of deforested areas in southwestern Amazonia using satellite imagery. We developed a conceptual basis for the classification of earthworks based on their structural characteristics using fuzzy sets. We recorded 1,279 structures with a distinctive core density zone. Most of the structures displayed geometric shapes, but they varied in construction accuracy. Geoglyphs accounted for over 80% of all objects, with geographically variable shapes and enclosure areas. Other earthwork types included associated embankments, solitary embankments and mound sites. The abundance of earthworks provided evidence of strong pre-European human influence on the study area. A 10-km buffer around each earthwork included 75% of recent deforestation areas and 25.7% of standing forest, suggesting a significant potential for the presence of further earthworks in this ancient anthropogenic landscape and its possible ecological legacy. The available radiocarbon data confirm a long-term anthropogenic impact in the study area, with ceremonial geoglyphs indicating activities over a thousand years old and other structures revealing more recent cultural transformations."

"en": "Geometric earthworks are evidence of ancient human activity in western Brazilian Amazonia. We used a review of existing and new data to map earthworks across 27,569 km2 of deforested areas in southwestern Amazonia using satellite imagery. We developed a conceptual basis for the classification of earthworks based on their structural characteristics using fuzzy sets. We recorded 1,279 structures with a distinctive core density zone. Most of the structures displayed geometric shapes, but they varied in construction accuracy. Geoglyphs accounted for over 80% of all objects, with geographically variable shapes and enclosure areas. Other earthwork types included associated embankments, solitary embankments and mound sites. The abundance of earthworks provided evidence of strong pre-European human influence on the study area. A 10-km buffer around each earthwork included 75% of recent deforestation areas and 25.7% of standing forest, suggesting a significant potential for the presence of further earthworks in this ancient anthropogenic landscape and its possible ecological legacy. The available radiocarbon data confirm a long-term anthropogenic impact in the study area, with ceremonial geoglyphs indicating activities over a thousand years old and other structures revealing more recent cultural transformations."
