"en": "This research instrument was developed for a study on the uncertainty experienced by language raters and the impact of uncertainty on the quality of assessment in the official language examination, the National Certificates of Language Proficiency. The instrument consists of three online questionnaires using Webropol software and a note-taking sheet using Excel spreadsheet software. The survey focused on the assessment of speaking and writing in the intermediate-level Finnish language examination.\r\n\r\nThe questions in the survey include both closed and open questions. Two almost identical versions of all the questionnaires and the Excel sheet were created for the collection of data for the different survey phases. In the published instrument, the versions are combined and the differences between the original questionnaires are explained.\r\n\r\nInformal English translations of the research instrument was made after collecting the data.",
"fi": "Mittari laadittiin tutkimukseen, joka käsittelee kielitaidon arvioijien kokemaa epävarmuutta sekä epävarmuuden vaikutuksia arvioinnin laatuun virallisessa kielitutkinnossa, Yleisissä kielitutkinnoissa. Mittari koostuu kolmesta erillisestä Webropol-ohjelmalla toteutetusta verkkokyselystä sekä Excel-taulukkolaskentaohjelmalla tehdystä muistiinpanopohjasta. Tutkimus kohdistui suomen kielen keskitason tutkinnon puhumisen ja kirjoittamisen arviointiin.\r\n\r\nMittarin kyselyihin sisältyy sekä suljettuja että avoimia kysymyksiä. Kaikista kyselyistä ja Excel-pohjasta tehtiin kaksi lähes identtistä versiota eri tutkimusvaiheiden keruita varten. "en": "The study examines the uncertainty experienced by language raters and the impact of uncertainty on the quality of assessment in the National Certificates of Language Proficiency (YKI), an official language test for adults in Finland. A total of 27 speaking and 23 writing raters participated in the study. The raters had completed the training required and were licensed by the Finnish National Agency for Education to act as raters. During the study, the raters reflected on their lived experiences of uncertainty in general and concerning one particular examination round. The data consists of responses to three online surveys (initial survey, session surveys, final survey) and notes taken during the assessment. In addition, the proficiency ratings and information on rater experience are included in the data. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to analyse the data.",
"fi": "Tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan kielitaidon arvioijien kokemaa epävarmuutta sekä epävarmuuden vaikutusta arvioinnin laatuun Yleisissä kielitutkinnoissa (YKI). Aineisto kerättiin vuosina 2021-2022. Tutkimukseen osallistui yhteensä 27 puhumisen ja 23 kirjoittamisen arvioijaa, jotka olivat suorittaneet arvioijana toimimiseen vaadittavan arvioijakoulutuksen ja joilla oli Opetushallituksen myöntämä lupa arvioijana toimimiseen. Tutkimuksen aikana arvioijat pohtivat ja erittelivät kokemaansa epävarmuutta yleisesti sekä yhden tutkintokerran arviointien aikana. Aineisto koostuu kolmen verkkokyselyn vastauksista (alkukysely, sessiokyselyt kunkin arviointirupeaman lopussa, loppukysely) sekä arvioinnin aikana tehdyistä muistiinpanoista. Lisäksi aineistoon on yhdistetty tieto arvioijien antamista taitotasoarvioista sekä tietoa arvioijakokemuksen määrästä. Aineiston analysoinnissa on käytetty sekä laadullisia että määrällisiä menetelmiä."

"en": "The Corpus of Australian and New Zealand Spoken English (CoANZSE) is a 196-million-word corpus of geolocated automatic speech recognition (ASR) YouTube transcripts from local government channels in Australia and New Zealand, created for the study of lexical, grammatical, and discourse-pragmatic phenomena of spoken language, as well as for content and language analysis in digital humanities and social science fields. Annotation includes individual word timings and video IDs of transcripts, making it easy to instantly view the video(s) for any given search. The corpus was created from 55,896 ASR transcripts from 472 YouTube channels, corresponding to almost 24,007 hours of video. The size of the corpus is 195,583,873 tokens. The channels sampled in the corpus are associated with local government entities such as local, city, county, district, and regional councils, and transcripts are from a range of video types. Recordings of public meetings are well-represented. Related resources are the Corpus of North American Spoken English, the Corpus of British Isles Spoken English, and the Corpus of German Speech.\n\nThe untagged corpus is contained in the file coanzse_tokens_distributable_30062023.csv.gz. The PoS-tagged corpus with word timings is coanzse_textpos_distributable_30062023.csv.gz. The separator for both files is the pipe character \"|\". The files have the columns 'country', 'state', 'council_name', 'channel_title', 'channel_url', 'video_title', 'video_id', 'upload_date', 'video_length', 'location','nr_words','text_pos' (or 'text', in the untagged version), and 'latlong'. Each row corresponds to an individual transcript. In order to comply with Fair Use/Fair Dealing provisions of copyright law, the original ASR transcript files from YouTube have been transformed in this version of the corpus: Every 200 words, ten words have been replaced with \"@\". "en": "This resource will be available for download in Kielipankki - the Language Bank of Finland.\n\nThe \"Four Battles\" parallel corpus consists of a children's book by L. Uspenskij, \"Four Battles\", published in the late 1930s and early 1940's in several languages.\n\nThe National Library of Finland, in their Fenno-Ugrica collection, has seen to the open licensing of this book, including numerous variations of the Russian text associated with the translations in Komi-Zyrian, Komi-Permyak, Udmurt, Meadow and Eastern Mari, Hill Mari, Erzya, Moksha, Mansi, and Nenets. All translations except Nenets are included in the parallel corpus.\n\nThe text is short, and the presence of variation in the Russian-language texts may provide an insight into translation development practices in the minority Uralic languages of the Soviet Union.\n\nThe texts have been obtained directly from the Fenno-Ugrica collections of the National Library of Finland. Five of the parallel texts have been proofread by Niko Partanen, Jeremy Bradley, Alexandra Kellner and Boglárka Janurik in 2017, and the rest were proofread in spring 2023 by Jack Rueter and Csilla Horváth.",

Uspenskijn lastenkirjasta \"Neljä taistelua\", joka julkaistiin useilla kielillä 1930-luvun lopulla ja 1940-luvun alussa.\n\nKansalliskirjasto on huolehtinut kirjan avoimesta julkaisusta. Mukana on on useita muunnelmia venäjänkielisestä alkutekstistä ja niiden käännökset komi-syrjäänin, komi-permjakin, udmurtin, niitty- ja itämarin, vuorimarin, ersän, mokšan, mansin ja nenetsin kielille. Käännöksistä ovat mukana rinnakkaiskorpuksessa kaikki paitsi nenetsi.\n\nTeksti on lyhyt ja venäjänkielisissä teksteissä esiintyvästä vaihtelusta voidaan saada tietoa uralilaisten vähemmistökielten kääntämisen kehittymisestä Neuvostoliitossa.\n\nTekstit ovat peräisin suoraan Kansalliskirjaston Fenno-Ugrica-kokoelmasta.
