"en": "This resource will be made available in the Language Bank of Finland.\n\nThe resource is based on a study of overlaps and repetitions of texts in the Swedish-language newspaper and magazine material that has been digitised by the national libraries of Finland and Sweden. The idea was to locate all texts or text fragments longer than 300 characters that had been repeated or copied at least once. More than 101 million of these similarities or overlaps were found. When the same texts were clustered together, there were almost 22 million clusters. The study covered the years 1645-1918, starting with the first newspaper printed in Sweden. In total, 7.5 million pages of digitised newspaper material were included in the study. In addition to the aforementioned newspapers printed in Finland and Sweden, the database includes Swedish-language immigrant newspapers published in North America. \n\nThe resource was produced by the project \"Informationsflöden över Östersjön: Svenskspråkig press som kulturförmedlare\", funded by Society of Swedish Literature in Finland (Svenska Litteratursällskapet i Finland). The digitised material was compiled in November 2022.",
"fi": "Tämä aineisto on tulossa saataville Kielipankkiin.\n\nAineisto perustuu tutkimukseen, jossa etsittiin Suomen ja Ruotsin kansalliskirjastojen digitoimista ruotsinkielisistä sanoma- ja aikakauslehtiaineistoista päällekkäisyyksiä, tekstien toistoja. Ajatuksena oli paikantaa kaikki vähintään kerran toistetut tai kopioidut, yli 300 merkkiä pitkät tekstit tai tekstifragmentit. Näitä samuuksia tai päällekkäisyyksiä löytyi yli 101 miljoonaa. Kun samat tekstit yhdistettiin klustereiksi, klustereita muodostui lähes 22 miljoonaa. Tutkimus kattoi vuodet 1645-1918. Aikarajauksen alkuna oli ensimmäinen Ruotsissa painettu sanomalehti. Yhteensä digitoitua sanomalehtiaineistoa oli käytössä 7,5 miljoonaa sivua. Suomessa ja Ruotsissa painetun lehdistön lisäksi aineisto sisälsi Pohjois-Amerikassa julkaistuja ruotsinkielisiä siirtolaislehtiä. \n\nAineiston on tuottanut Svenska Litteratursällskapet i Finlandin rahoittama hanke \"Informationsflöden över Östersjön: Svenskspråkig press som kulturförmedlare\". Digitoitu aineisto koottiin marraskuussa 2022."

"en": "The dataset contains nine variants of the same idea. In each, an observation refers to a MBTR description of the structural angles of the Au38Q hybrid nanoparticle of a single timestep in a DFT simulation and the potential energy of the said nanoparticle at the timestep. The input space is the MBTR description and the output space is the potential energy. Features refer to the output of the MBTR descriptor, here used as the input.\r\n\r\nWe used three different numbers of observations and three different numbers of descriptor accuracies. Regarding the the number of observations, we used RS-maximin to find out the most different observations available and used the first 4000 and first 8000 as the selections in 4k and 8k variants. Regarding the number of features, we used different descriptor accuracy values [2,10,100] that produced descriptors of lengths [80,400,4000]. This allowed the number of features to represent the data description resolution. Downsampling of the number of features from 4000 to lower numbers was not used.\r\n\r\nFurther details are presented in paper Do Randomized Algorithms Improve the Efficiency of\r\nMinimal Learning Machine? by Linja et al."

"en": "Surveys and interviews on sustainable development leadership in Finnish universities 2022-2023\r\n\r\nData collected for this project consists of three sub-datasets some of which is are published in an openly accessible form:\r\n\r\n1. University workshop materials from a workshop held at the University of Tampere 3-4 November 2022 in Unifi-Arene conference\r\n\r\nThe following datasets are published openly:\r\n- pre-assignments for each Finnish university (14 in total) in ppt-textformat\r\n- gallup results produced with Mentimeter survey tool, 32 questions evaluated on likert-scale (from 1 to 5) \r\n\r\nThe following datasets will not be published or archived:\r\n- workshop discussion 2 x 2h (also taped and transcribed)\r\n\r\n2. Interview data produced in January-February 2023. One hour long individual interviews were held with 25 university representatives (1-3 from each 14 universities) in MS Teams. The interviews were recorded and transcribed. The dataset will not be published or archived. \r\n\r\n3.Survey data on universities´ personnel figures from 14 Finnish universities´ human resources functions and universities' real estate companies (SYK, HYK/HY247, ACRE). Survey was conducted in February 2023 and the questionnaire was in MS Excel format. The dataset will not be published or archived.",

"en": "This resource will be made available in Kielipankki – the Language Bank of Finland.\n\nThis is a text corpus for the study of the linguistic landscapes of Turku. The material is mostly based on the so-called Black Book of the Turku Cathedral, but also on other contemporary documents concerning the ownership of real estate or the urban space of Turku. Most of the material has been collected from the Diplomatarium Fennicum database in 2022. The original texts were written in the time period from the 13th to the 15th centuries mainly in Medieval Swedish, about 5% in Latin. Finnish and (Middle) German are also included in the form of different proper names.\n\nThe texts have been converted to be as machine-readable as possible using TEI/XML annotation. In addition to landmarks and socio-economic and other background variables, the text documents were annotated with headings, summaries and other descriptive information, including language.\n\nThe corpus includes about 20 000 words in Medieval Swedish and a few thousand words in Latin. There are 86 documents in total.\n\nThe material is related to the forthcoming compilation Kupari Hanna-Mari & Lamberg Marko: Language in the landscape and landscapes in linguistics (working title of a publication in Finnish). The book is expected to be published in autumn 2023.",
"fi": "Tämä aineisto on tulossa Kielipankkiin. \n\nTurun kielimaisemia käsittelevän tutkimuksen tekstikorpus. Aineisto perustuu enimmäkseen Turun tuomiokirkon nk. Mustaan kirjaan mutta myös muihin kiinteistöjen omistamista tai Turun kaupunkitilaa koskeviin aikalaisasiakirjoihin. Suurin osa aineistosta on kerätty Diplomatarium Fennicum -tietokannasta vuonna 2022. Alkuperäiset tekstit on kirjoitettu 1300- ja 1400-luvuilla pääosin ruotsiksi, noin 5 % latinaksi. Mukana on erisnimien muodossa myös suomea ja (keskiala)saksaa. \n\nTekstit on muunnettu mahdollisimman koneluettaviksi käyttäen TEI/XML-merkintätapaa. Maamerkkien ja sosioekonomisten yms. taustamuuttujien lisäksi tekstidokumentteihin on merkitty esimerkiksi otsikot, regestat ja muuta kuvailutietoa.\n\nKeskiajan ruotsia on mukana n. 20 000 sanaa ja latinaa muutama tuhat sanaa. Dokumentteja on yhteensä 86 kappaletta.\n\nAineisto liittyy teokseen Kupari, Hanna-Mari & Lamberg, Marko (tulossa): Kieli maisemassa ja maisema kielessä. Kirjan arvioitu ilmestymisajankohta on syksy 2023."

"en": "# Aalto Finnish Parliament ASR Corpus 2008-2020, version 2\n\nShort name: `fi-parliament-asr-v2`\nPersistent Identifier of this resource: http://urn.fi/urn:nbn:fi:lb-2022052002\n\nThis corpus is extracted from the Finnish parliament plenary session transcripts and videos by the\nAalto Speech Recognition group. The original session transcripts and videos are available at the web\nportals of the Parliament of Finland (avoindata.eduskunta.fi and verkkolahetys.eduskunta.fi). The\ncorpus is split into three parts:\n 1. 2015-2020 set\n 2. 2008-2016 set\n 3. In election years, the working year differs from the calendar year. |\n| <startsec> | The start timestamp of the segment in the full plenary session audio. Format is seconds + two decimals, 00186868 = 1868.68 s |\n| <endsec> | Like start timestamp, this marks the end timestamp of the segment in the original audio. |\n\nThis subset is machine-extracted so there remains some inaccuracies in the samples. The audio quality\nalso varies.\n\n### Statistics\n\nIn total, there are:\n - 984 676 sample pairs\n - 1 780 hours of speech\n - 11 234 724 word tokens\n\n### Text data\n\nThis subset comes with a 10 million word token in-domain text corpus in the file\n`parl-full-transcripts-78-2016-104-2020.train`. This 10 million token text corpus can be combined\nwith the 20 million token text corpus that comes with the 2008-2016 set to form a 30 million token\ntext corpus.\n\n### Note about MPIDs\n\nThere is one speaker in this subset that is not an MP, Risto Hiekkataipale (MPID: 00002). His MPID\nis arbitrary. The 2015-2020 set and 2008-2016 set use different speaker IDs. This file is compatible\n with the Kaldi input files created by the script `local/data_prep.sh` mentioned above.\n\n### Statistics\n\nIn total, there are:\n - 522 543 sample pairs\n - 1560 hours of speech\n - 9 743 296 word tokens (in .trn files)\n\nIn the 2008-2014 subset, there are:\n - 437 642 sample pairs\n - 1 350 hours of speech\n - 8 122 107 word tokens (in .trn files)\n\n### Text data\n\nThis subset comes with a 20 million word token in-domain text corpus in the file `parl-transcripts.train`.\nThe text corpus is extracted from the 2008-2016 session transcripts.\n\n---\n\n## Development and test sets\n\nThis subset contains the dev and test sets for Finnish Parliament ASR corpus. The extraction was done by the Aalto Speech Recognition group. The original session transcripts and videos are available at the web\nportals of the Parliament of Finland (avoindata.eduskunta.fi and verkkolahetys.eduskunta.fi).\n\nThis corpus consists of:\n - 3889 sample pairs\n - 6.4 hours of speech\n - 333 483 word tokens\n \nThis dataset is considerably smaller than the Finnish counterpart (http://urn.fi/urn:nbn:fi:lb-2021051903) This is because Swedish speeches are rare in Parliament of Finland. Only around 1% of all speeches are held in Swedish.\n\nAll audio files in this corpus are single-channel wavs with sample rate 16 kHz and 16-bit precision.\nThe transcript files (.trn) are plain text files.\n\nThe tools and code used to produce this corpus:\n - Preprocessing postprocessing: https://github.com/aalto-speech/sv-fi-parliament-tools\n - Decoding and segmentation: Kaldi, https://github.com/kaldi-asr/kaldi\n\n### Data\n\nThis corpus contains samples of Swedish speech (.wav) and their corresponding transcripts (.trn) from sessions\nbetween 1/2015 and 104/2020. Many sessions in this range are not present in the dataset. In most cases, this is because they did not contain any Swedish speeches. In a few cases, it is because either the recording or the transcription was unavailable.\n\nSamples are grouped by session.
