"en": "This is the dataset containing raw data for a research article “Stabilizing Light-Responsive Azobenzene Films in Aqueous Environment with Thin Polymer Coatings”, submitted to “Soft Matter” journal.\r\n\r\nAll the results presented in the article are based on the data included in this dataset. The data includes material characterization with atomic force microscopy (AFM), digital holographic microscope (DHM), profilometry, UV-Vis spectrophotometry, different optical microscopes (polarized optical microscope, light microscope, confocal microscope) and diffraction efficiency (DE) measurements. Both raw data and analyzed data are included in the datasets. All datasets include README.txt file, which provide additional info about the experimental settings and data analysis."

"en": "A dataset of parallel fullband speech simultaneously recorded by various microphones in the Wilska Multichannel Anechoic Chamber at the Acoustics Lab of Aalto University, Espoo, Finland.\r\n\r\nThe source data comes from the VCTK dataset. It was played back using a high quality professional fullrange loudspeaker and recorded by two headset microphones and six studio microphones. The total amount of data per microphone is 23 hours, 11 minutes and 13 seconds. All data was recorded at 48kHz and 24-bit, and later on compressed in .flac format (loseless compression).\r\n\r\nDate structure\r\n\r\nThe data is structured as follows:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nheadset-mics: Folder containing headset microphone recordings. Each folder contains data recorded by a single microphone.\r\n\r\nstudio-mics: Folder containing studio microphone recordings. Each folder contains data recorded by a single microphone.\r\n\r\n\r\nEach folder contains the same number of files. Files with the same name across folders are parallel recordings, meaning that they have identical content and the same number of samples, but captured by each corresponding microphone.\r\n\r\nEach file uses the following naming convention:\r\n\r\npXXX_YYY_ZZ.flac\r\n\r\nwhere:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\npXXX is the speaker ID, matching exactly the IDs used in the VCTK dataset. \r\n\r\nYYY is the utterance ID, also consistent with the VCTK dataset.\r\n\r\nZZ is the segment ID. Utterances were trimmed to remove silent sections, and some were split into multiple segments as a result (e.g., p225_009_00.flac and p225_009_01.flac).\r\n\r\n\r\nEach folder contains a meta.csv file with metadata for its corresponding subset, including a SHA256 hash to verify data integrity. These were generated using sndls with the following command:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nsndls audio --csv meta.csv -e .flac -r --sha256"

"en": "Abstract Background Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is an established method for noninvasive brain stimulation, used for investigating and treating brain disorders. Recently, multi-locus TMS (mTMS) has expanded the capabilities of TMS by employing an array of overlapping stimulation coils, enabling delivery of stimulation pulses at different cortical locations without physical coil movement. We aimed to design, construct, and deploy an mTMS device and a five-coil array for clinical environment, emphasizing safety of the system. Methods Our mTMS device is controlled by a field-programmable gate array (FPGA). The power electronics comprises five stimulation channels, each consisting of a high-voltage capacitor connected to a pulse circuit, controlling a single coil in the array. The device contains custom-designed circuit boards, with functions such as monitoring the system state, reporting errors, and delivering pulses. Our design utilizes redundancy in both hardware and firmware to ensure robust operation and safety. We performed an automated motor mapping test to verify the electronic targeting capabilities of the device. Results We constructed the mTMS device and deployed it to the Hertie Institute for Clinical Brain Research (Tübingen, Germany). Compared to our earlier prototype, the new design improves patient and operator safety. The motor mapping test confirmed that our device can accurately target stimulation pulses in the cortex. Significance mTMS or other similar technologies are currently not available for hospital use. The present device and its installation are major steps toward establishing multicoil TMS as an accessible clinical tool for investigation and treatment of the brain."

"en": "Assay interference caused by small organic compounds continues to pose formidable challenges to early drug discovery. Various computational methods have been developed to identify compounds likely to cause assay interference. However, due to the scarcity of data available for model development, the predictive accuracy and applicability of these approaches are limited. In this work, we present E-GuARD, a novel framework seeking to address data scarcity and imbalance by integrating self-distillation, active learning, and expert-guided molecular generation. E-GuARD iteratively enriches the training data with interference-relevant molecules, resulting in quantitative structure-interference relationship (QSIR) models with superior performance. We demonstrate the utility of E-GuARD with the examples of four high-quality data sets on thiol reactivity, redox reactivity, nanoluciferase inhibition, and firefly luciferase inhibition. Our models reached MCC values of up to 0.47 for these data sets, with two-fold or higher improvements in enrichment factors compared to models trained without E-GuARD data augmentation. These results highlight the potential of E-GuARD as a scalable solution to mitigating assay interference in early drug discovery. Scientific contribution We present E-GuARD, an innovative framework that combines iterative self-distillation with guided molecular augmentation to enhance the predictive performance of QSAR models. By allowing models to learn from newly generated, informative compounds through iterations, E-GuARD facilitates the understanding of underrepresented structural patterns and improves performance on unseen data. When applied across different interference mechanisms, E-GuARD consistently outperformed standard approaches. E-GuARD establishes the foundation for further research into dynamic data enrichment and more robust molecular modeling."

"en": "This dataset is comprised of acoustic Spatial Room Impulse Response (SRIR) measurements using a spherical microphone array (Eigenmike, em32). The measurements were conducted in the variable-acoustics room Arni, located in the facilities of the Acoustic Laboratories in the Aalto University. The measurements were carried out in November 2023.\r\n\r\nThe dataset includes several files that contain the SRIRs obtained using 3 different source positions and 3 different room conditions. The files are as follows:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\narni_em32_dry_SX.sofa – Dry room configuration (all reflective panels open) for source position X = {1, 2, 3}.\r\n\r\narni_em32_anisotropic_SX.sofa – Anisotropic room configuration (half of the reflective panels open along one side of the room) for source position X = {1, 2, 3}\r\n\r\narni_em32_reverberant_SX.sofa – Reverberant room configuration (all reflective panels closed) for source position X = {1, 2, 3}.\r\n\r\n\r\nThe room\r\n\r\nArni has a volume of approximately and presents a rectangular shape with dimensions [8.9 m 6.3 m 3.6 m]. Variable acoustic panels are installed on both the ceiling and the walls. The panels can be in their open configuration, where the sound reaches the absorptive material allocated in the interior, or closed, making the surface reflective. There is a total of 55 panels distributed as follows: 8 on three of the walls, 11 on the fourth one, and 20 on the ceiling. More details about the room can be found in (Prawda et al., 2022).\r\n\r\nThe averaged atmospheric conditions during the measurement time are:\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAv. Temperature\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nRel. humidity\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nAtm. pressure\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n21.5 C\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n 25.1 %\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n 1011.9 Pa\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThree room configurations were considered depending on the panel configurations: dry, anisotropic and reverberant. The specific panel configurations are illustrated in Fig. 2 of the Readme_Arni_em32 document.\r\n\r\nThe measurements\r\n\r\nAll measurements were obtained using an exponential sweep covering the frequencies 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The sampling rate is 48 kHz. The length of the sweep is 3 sec, followed by 1 sec silence.\r\n\r\nThe sources are three two-way loudspeakers (8010A, Genelec) that were driven sequentially. The receiver is a 32-channel spherical microphone array (em32, Eigenmike, mh Acoustics). A total of 50 positions were measured along a line, with another 15 measurements distributed around the room. The positions along the line have an approximated spatial resolution of 5 cm, covering an aperture of 2.5 m. "en": "These hard carbon atomic structures, in extended XYZ format, have been generated using a melt-graphitization-quench molecular augmented dynamics (MAD) [1] protocol using a Gaussian approximation potential (GAP) for carbon [2] from experimental X-ray diffraction patterns. HC_10648 and HC_1728 contain four hard carbon samples: bacterial cellulose, TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofibrils, Whatman filter paper, and a commercial hard carbon reference with a simulation box of 10648 and 1728 atoms respectively. Simulation details and characterization of structural properties will follow in a scientific paper."

"en": "In this paper, we explore how heterogeneous firms decide on complementary and substitutable qualities of their products. We show that if increasing the product qualities appears to be relatively costly, more productive firms choose higher complementary quality but lower substitutable quality. We also document distortions that arise in our framework. Specifically, we find that in the market equilibrium, firms tend to underinvest in substitutable quality but overinvest in complementary quality compared to the first best allocation. Using data from pizzerias in Oslo, Norway, we provide a calibration exercise to estimate welfare losses due to the quality distortions."

"en": "Machine Learning for Predicting Solubility The water solubility of organic molecules is critical for optimizing the performance and stability of aqueous flow batteries, as well as for various other applications. While solubility measurements are relatively straightforward in some cases, theoretical predictions remain a significant challenge. Machine learning algorithms have become invaluable tools over the past decade to address this. High-quality data and effective descriptors are essential for building reliable, data-driven estimation models. This repository systematically investigates the effectiveness of enhanced structure-based descriptors and an outlier detection procedure to improve aqueous solubility predictability. Installation Clone the repository: git clone git@github.com:sahashemip/ML4OrganicMoleculeSolubility.git Navigate to the project directory: cd ML4OrganicMoleculeSolubility Install the required dependencies: pip install -r requirements.txt How to Use Navigate to the notebooks directory: Open and run the Jupyter notebooks sequentially based on the numbering: analysis descriptors ml-models outlier-detection Outlier Detection: To perform outlier detection, modify the parameters in the outlier_detector.py script. Refer to the data in TABLE I of the associated manuscript for parameter details. Lett. 9, 306–312 (2018) DOI:10.1021/acs.jpclett.7b02740 The GW approximation of many-body perturbation theory is an accurate method for computing electron addition and removal energies of molecules and solids. In a canonical implementation, however, its computational cost is in the system size N, which prohibits its application to many systems of interest. We present a full-frequency GW algorithm in a Gaussian-type basis, whose computational cost scales with N2 to N3. The implementation is optimized for massively parallel execution on state-of-the-art supercomputers and is suitable for nanostructures and molecules in the gas, liquid or condensed phase, using either pseudopotentials or all electrons. We validate the accuracy of the algorithm on the GW100 molecular test set, finding mean absolute deviations of 35 meV for ionization potentials and 27 meV for electron affinities. Furthermore, we study the length-dependence of quasiparticle energies in armchair graphene nanoribbons of up to 1734 atoms in size, and compute the local density of states across a nanoscale heterojunction."

"en": "The chemical versatility of carbon imparts manifold properties to organic compounds, where magnetism remains one of the most desirable but elusive. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, also referred to as nanographenes, show a critical dependence of electronic structure on the topologies of the edges and the π-electron network, which makes them model systems with which to engineer unconventional properties including magnetism. In 1972, Erich Clar envisioned a bow-tie-shaped nanographene, C38H18, where topological frustration in the π-electron network renders it impossible to assign a classical Kekulé structure without leaving unpaired electrons, driving the system into a magnetically non-trivial ground state. In this record we include data needed to support our recent work where we demonstrate the experimental realization and in-depth characterization of this emblematic nanographene, known as Clar's goblet. Scanning tunnelling microscopy and spin excitation spectroscopy of individual molecules on a gold surface reveal a robust antiferromagnetic order with an exchange-coupling strength of 23 meV, exceeding the Landauer limit of minimum energy dissipation at room temperature. Through atomic manipulation, we realize switching of magnetic ground states in molecules with quenched spins. Our results provide direct evidence of carbon magnetism in a hitherto unrealized class of nanographenes, and prove a long-predicted paradigm where topological frustration entails unconventional magnetism, with implications for room-temperature carbon-based spintronics."

"en": "This dataset includes the full computational workflows of a proof-of-concept study of various possible mechanisms (standard and bifunctional ones) for oxygen evolution reaction (OER) and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) on exfoliated NiOOH as electrocatalyst, including active edge sites (M5) and hydrogen acceptor sites in the same model system. Furthermore, explicit water is included in the model to describe the equilibration of the M-OOH species to M-OOH/eq, a crucial step that enables a bifunctional route to be operative. Additionally, different single Fe-dopant positions (M1, M2, M3, M4, M5, M6 and M7) are considered and four different reaction schemes (S1, S2, S3 and S4) are studied for the OER and the reverse ORR process. The results are relevant in alkaline conditions, where the studied model systems are stable. Certain Fe-dopant positions result in active Ni-edge sites with very low overpotentials provided that water is present within the model system."

"en": "MXenes represent one of the largest class of 2D materials with promising applications in many fields and their properties tunable by the surface group composition. Raman spectroscopy is expected to yield rich information about the surface composition, but the interpretation of measured spectra has proven challenging. The interpretation is usually done via comparison to simulated spectra, but there are large discrepancies between the experimental and earlier simulated spectra. In this work, we develop a computational approach to simulate Raman spectra of complex materials that combines machine-learning force-field molecular dynamics and reconstruction of Raman tensors via projection to pristine system modes. The approach can account for the effects of finite temperature, mixed surfaces, and disorder. We apply our approach to simulate Raman spectra of titanium carbide MXene and show that all these effects must be included in order to properly reproduce the experimental spectra, in particular the broad features. We discuss the origin of the peaks and how they evolve with surface composition, which can then be used to interpret experimental results. This record contains input files for MLFF training and production runs, information on the training set (atomic structures, energies and forces) and some of the molecular dynamics trajectories used to obtain Raman spectra."
