The RST Discourse Treebank is a collection of English news texts from the Penn Treebank annotated for rhetorical relations under the RST (Rhetorical Structure Theory) framework. In the RST Continuity Corpus, the relations are annotated for the seven continuity dimensions: time, space, reference, action, perspective, modality, and speech act. The relations are also annotated for polarity, order of segments, nuclearity, and context."

"en": "Availability of domain-specific datasets is a challenge for object detection. In particular, conducting onsite experiments is risky and time-consuming for the maritime domain. It is not always possible to capture challenging situations and incorporate variations in the environment. Therefore, we present a simulation-based dataset for maritime environments consisting of 9471 high-resolution (1920x1080) images resembling the real world with precise annotations.\r\n\r\nThe dataset was acquired using a simulation tool, AILiveSim. AILiveSim is a 3D simulation platform for targeted scalable development and integration of autonomous systems through digital twins. The tool provides a realistic 3D model of the route of the watercraft extended from the city of Turku to Ruisalo in South-West Finland.\r\n\r\nOur dataset incorporates diversity of objects, weather, illumination, visible proportion and scale in images that resemble the real world."

"en": "The dataset is created to benchmark performance exploration approaches. We have injected synthetic performance bottlenecks into the source code of the RUBiS web application as delays that are triggered on certain input combinations. The total number of input combinations is 3,100,000, and the bottlenecks roughly cover 9% of the total input combinations.\r\n\r\nWe have created two variants of the RUBiS web application. In RUBiS(uni), the bottlenecks are uniformly distributed, and the bottlenecks are widely spread over the entire input space. Meanwhile, in RUBiS(poi), we have used Poisson distribution. In the case of RUBiS(poi), as opposed to RUBiS(uni), the bottlenecks are packed together in the input space.\r\n\r\nThe dataset folder contains bottleneck distributions of RUBiS(poi) and RUBiS(uni). The first four columns of the *_exhaustive_data_dump.csv CSV files contain the values of the input variables: category id, region id, item id, and user id. The fifth column, named bottleneck, indicates whether a certain combination is a bottleneck. If the value is 1, then the corresponding combination is a bottleneck.\r\n\r\nThe CSV files in the experiment folder contain the cumulative number of bottlenecks identified by iPerfXRL after executing the 775,000 input combinations for RUBiS(poi) and RUBiS(uni)."

"en": "The ABOships dataset consists of 9880 inshore and offshore images of maritime objects, belonging to one of the following categories: boat, cargoship, cruiseship, ferry, militaryship, miscboat, miscellaneous, motorboat, passengership, sailboat, seamark. Example images and definitions of these categories can be found in the reference paper. The total number of annotated objects is\r\n41,967 and includes 9 types of ships.\r\n\r\nThe images were acquired from a collection of videos (format MPEG, with 720 p resolution at 15 FPS), extracting one image at every 15 s (or every 225 frames). The videos were acquired in the Finnish Archipelago, from a camera attached to a moving watercraft (waterbus – vesibussi in Finnish). The representation of labels for each category in the dataset is given by the following percentages, i.e. the percentage of images that include objects in each label category: seamark (37.89%), boat (20.58%), sailboat (38.88%), motorboat (41.11%), passengership (26.71%), cargoship (1.58%), ferry (9.56%), miscboat (28.30%), miscellaneous (1.30%), militaryship (25.90%), cruiseship (13.63%)."

"en": "Population performance is predicted to be more strongly influenced by detrimental species interactions such as predation under benign climatic conditions, and by climate forcing under harsh conditions, reflected in geographical gradients in biotic interaction strength. Less appreciated is the potential for site-specific changes in drivers with the advent of anthropogenic alteration of predator-prey relationships, including apex predator restoration and spread of invasive predators. Particularly interesting is the relative impact of climate and biotic interactions on population performance when these conflict. In this 31-year study (1990-2020), we revisit a common eider (Somateria mollissima) population from SW Finland, Baltic Sea, fifteen years on from an earlier study showing that climate warming positively affected reproductive parameters and performance. However, the population is simultaneously exposed to increasing predation by the rapidly recovering native apex predator and invasive mammals. Based on the current population trend, we predicted (i) a weakening of the previously documented positive effects of a warming climate on vital rates, (ii) intensified predation, and (iii) increasing top-down control of vital rates and accompanying population decline. Five out of seven breeding parameters (annual spread in female body condition, breeding phenology and synchrony, interval between arrival and breeding, fledgling production) were best explained by predation indices, whereas climate signals (winter NAO, Baltic Sea maximum ice cover) on breeding parameters have weakened. Particularly intriguing is that the previous positive association between mild ice winters and subsequent reproductive output has disappeared during the past 15 years, highlighting the non-linear nature of climate change responses. Indirect predation effects (selective disappearance, changed reproductive strategies, nest-site selection and population age distribution) can potentially explain also the remaining breeding parameters (annual mean body condition and clutch size). The observed regime shift in predation risk appears to prevent this now endangered population from reaping the potential benefits of a warming climate.,The 31-year data set covers 1990-2020, but there are some missing values. Thus, data on eider breeding parameters were unavailable from the breeding population of common eiders from Tvärminne in 1992, a final brood count at Tvärminne was not conducted in 1993, and migration data from the Hanko Bird Observatory was lacking from 1990.,"

"en": "This data set is related to the published book chapter ‘‘Aid the Victims of German Fascism!’: Transatlantic Networks and the Rise of Anti-Nazism in the USA, 1933–1935.’ Abstract: Anti-fascism became one of the main causes of the American left-liberal milieu during the mid-1930s. The chapter offers a new analysis of two communist-led, international organisations called the World Committee against War and Fascism and the World Relief Committee for the Victims of German Fascism. The chapter aims to show how anti-Nazi activities were initially mobilised in the USA from 1933 to 1935. It reveals the transnational connections present in American anti-fascist movements and shows the importance of the connections established between American anti-fascists and German, British and French anti-fascists before the beginning of the popular front period. It provides new insights to the ways anti-fascist ideas and practices were effectively circulated across the Atlantic and within North America. The time period was filled with contradictions and ambiguities especially due to the Communist International's sectarianism that initially hampered co-operation within the broader American left. Still, transatlantic anti-fascist solidarity networks had already managed by mid-1933 to inspire local anti-Nazi activism across the USA."

Hitler's Seizure of Power and the Transnational Anti-Fascist Movement in the Nordic Countries'. Chapter abstract: Hitler's seizure of power on 30 January 1933 provided an urgent impetus to stage transnational anti-fascist conferences and rallies on a global scale. One of the first, but almost completely overlooked major conferences was organised in Copenhagen in April 1933 in the form of a Scandinavian Anti-Fascist Conference. The chapter will use the event as a prism to look backwards at anti-fascist activism in the Nordic countries during the preceding years and follow its transformation process in its immediate aftermath. What form did these largely overlooked anti-fascist articulations and manifestations take, and how were they connected to the rising transnational and global anti-fascist mobilisation coordinated in Paris and London? The chapter shows that the establishment of the Third Reich, on the one hand, vitalised anti-fascism in Scandinavia but that it paradoxically, on the other, further sharpened the communist critique of reformist social democracy and empowered social democratic anti-communism. Moreover, small neutral states, especially with social democratic governments, were confronted with an acute dilemma as the German foreign office made it clear that sharp critique of Nazi Germany and Hitler in the Nordic press and social movements had to be limited in order to maintain good bilateral relations."

Connecting the Resistance Against Colonialism, Racism, and Fascism in the European Metropoles, 1926-1936,' Twentieth Century Communism, 18, 2020, pp. 126-149. Article abstract: This article focuses on the ways in which anti-colonialism, anti-racism, and anti-fascism were intertwined within the Third Period, and the extent to which these ideals were already being drawn together in the preceding era of the United Front. Drawing heavily on the articles and imagery of Willi Münzenberg's Arbeiter-Illustrierte-Zeitung (AIZ), the piece demonstrates the ways in which communist anti-fascist campaigning around the world facilitated the development of sophisticated anti-racist arguments which aimed at undermining the ideological basis of fascist movements and colonial rulers alike. It evidences the extent to which communists felt that countering the pseudoscience of race could play an important role in numerous facets of their campaigning. Furthermore, it highlights the attempts by activists and writers to develop a conception of anti-fascism and anti-colonialism as mutually-reinforcing strategies which could be deployed in tandem, and the ways that this ideological interweaving was drawn into campaigns both against the Nazis' use of racial science to justify anti-Semitic policy, and fascist Italy's invasion of Ethiopia based on Social Darwinist precepts."

"en": "The study charted the motives and experiences of people attending musical events of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. The study was conducted in cooperation with the Church Research Institute and funded by the Academy of Finland.\r\n\r\nThe respondents were first asked which event they attended, what their reasons for attending were, how many times they had attended before and where they had heard about the event. Regarding worship services and the role of music, the survey charted the frequency of attending worship services and other events organised by the Church, the importance of music in religious activities and in the respondent's spiritual life, preferred and undesirable music genres in religious events, and opinions on the Church's use of music at worship services. Finally, the respondents were asked how often they participated in the events organised by revivalist and free church movements, what their view of the Bible was, what their religious identity was like, and to what extent they believed in basic Christian tenets.\r\n\r\nBackground variables included the respondent's gender, age (categorised), region of residence, and religious denomination."

"en": "Working memory (WM) capacity may influence students’ math performance together with their affective experiences, such as math anxiety (MA) and math interest. It has also been suggested that the influence of affect on performance might go through WM. The negative relationship between MA and math performance is well-established, and some studies have found WM to mediate this association. However, little is known, first, about the relationship between WM and math interest, and second, about the potential mediating effect of WM between interest and math performance. This study examined the direct and mediated effects of MA and interest through WM on fourth graders’ (N = 332) performance in arithmetic fluency, while controlling for generalized anxiety. Findings from structural equation modeling showed MA to predict performance negatively, while the effects of WM and interest were positive. There was a negative indirect effect from MA through WM on performance indicating partial mediation, while a corresponding, but positive, effect was not found for interest. Our results suggest that while both negative and positive affective experiences are related to math performance, the role of WM in explaining this link may be more pronounced regarding MA than interest."

The folder \"stimulus_information\" includes text files (e.g. session_modalities.txt, stimulus_side.txt, stimu_timings_awake.txt, and stimu_timings_isomed.txt) that provide information on the state of consciousness, type and order of stimuli timings, and stimulus side for each scan. The folder \"ROIs\" contains the regions-of-interest used for the analyses published in the article. The folder \"target\" includes anatomical and functional images of the target brain.\n\nContact information for further requests can be found inside the package."

The daily CO2 fluxes from five Eddy Covariance sites in Finland. The data are CSV files\n under the flux_data directory, with the following columns:\n - (nameless): Date as YYYY-MM-DD\n - NEE: Net Ecosystem Exchange (g CO2 m-2 day-1); negative values denote downwards flux\n - NEE_unc: uncertainty of the Net Ecosystem Exchange (g CO2 m-2 day-1)\n - GPP: Gross Primary Productivity (g CO2 m-2 day-1)\n - GPP_unc: uncertainty of the Gross Primary Productivity (g CO2 m-2 day-1)\n - TER: Total Ecosystem Respiration (g CO2 m-2 day-1)\n - TER_unc: uncertainty of the Total Ecosystem Respiration (g CO2 m-2 day-1)\n - Gapfill: fraction of the values that were gap-filled for that day.\n\n2. The fitted GPP model parameters (1000 samples of the posterior distribution; example/params.csv) and an\nexample script (example/example.py) for running the model. Running the script requires the numpyro, pandas\nand seaborn libraries to be installed."
