(in preparation) of 30 measurement stations in Helsinki.\n\nTechnical Info:\n\nNB:update on 1.7.2025: files \nHelsinki_202412.dat, \nHelsinki_202501.dat, \nHelsinki_202503_updated.dat and \nHelsinki_202506.dat added.\n\nThe measurements were conducted at a height of 3 m in the locations listed in Helsinki_Table1_New.txt during 12/2024-06/2025. Each measurement station consisted of three parts: a temperature and humidity sensor, a solar radiation shield, and an Internet of Things (IoT) device, which collected the measurement data and communicated them to a server via Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN). Temperature and relative humidity (RH) were measured by one integrated sensor, the Digital Matter I2C Temperature and Humidity Sensor [https://www.digitalmatter.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/I2C-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-Datasheet.pdf] Within the sensor, the temperature and RH were measured using the Silicon Labs Si7021-A20 I2C Humidity and Temperature Sensor chip. The chip is factory calibrated and has maximum operating ranges of 0% to 100% RH and -40°C to +125°C temperature. The measurement accuracy for temperature is maximum ±0.4°C if the ambient temperature is between -10°C and 85°C. The measurement accuracy of the chip is maximum ±3% RH if the ambient RH is between 0% and 80%.\n\nThe Temperature and Humidity Sensor was protected by a radiation shield to minimize the influence of direct sunlight and thermal radiation on the measurements. The radiation shield (height 11.5 cm, radius 14 cm) was made of white plastic and consisted of 9 ventilated plates stacked in a cylindrical design allowing for adequate airflow while shielding the sensor from external radiation.\n\nQuality check\nThe temperature data was quality checked using a multi-step procedure. First, values were screened based on long-term climatological daily minimum and maximum temperatures derived from 10 km × 10 km resolution gridded temperature data for the Tampere region (Aalto et al., 2016). Measurements falling clearly outside the climatological range were removed. Subsequently, remaining values were filtered based on statistical properties of the measurements, using median and median absolute deviation (MAD) over short time intervals to identify and remove outliers. A final threshold based on deviations from the local median was applied to exclude any remaining extreme values.\n\nThe Local Climate Zones (LCZs) in Helsinki_Table1_New. have been defined for each measurement station following the Global LCZ data (Demuzere 2022a, Demuzere, et al. 2022b) based on the Local Climate Zone (LCZ) Classification system by Stewart and Oke (2012).\n\nTable Of Contents:\n\nThe descriptions of the measurement stations are in Helsinki_Table1_New.txt.\nColumns\n1. (in preparation) of 23 measurement stations in Tampere. \n\nTechnical Info: \n\nNB: Update on 1.7.2025: data files\nTampere_2023_updated.dat, \nTampere_2024_updated.dat, \nTampere_202503_updated.dat, and\nTampere_202506.dat\nadded.\n\nThe measurements were conducted at a height of 3 m in the locations listed in Tampere_Table1_New.txt during 07/2023-06/2025. Each measurement station consisted of three parts: a temperature and humidity sensor, a solar radiation shield, and an Internet of Things (IoT) device, which collected the measurement data and communicated them to a server via Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN). Temperature and relative humidity (RH) were measured by one integrated sensor, the Digital Matter I2C Temperature and Humidity Sensor [https://www.digitalmatter.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/I2C-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-Datasheet.pdf] Within the sensor, the temperature and RH were measured using the Silicon Labs Si7021-A20 I2C Humidity and Temperature Sensor chip. The chip is factory calibrated and has maximum operating ranges of 0% to 100% RH and -40°C to +125°C temperature. The measurement accuracy for temperature is maximum ±0.4°C if the ambient temperature is between -10°C and 85°C. The measurement accuracy of the chip is maximum ±3% RH if the ambient RH is between 0% and 80%. \n\nThe Temperature and Humidity Sensor was protected by a radiation shield to minimize the influence of direct sunlight and thermal radiation on the measurements. The radiation shield (height 11.5 cm, radius 14 cm) was made of white plastic and consisted of 9 ventilated plates stacked in a cylindrical design allowing for adequate airflow while shielding the sensor from external radiation. \n\nQuality check \nThe temperature data was quality checked using a multi-step procedure. First, values were screened based on long-term climatological daily minimum and maximum temperatures derived from 10 km × 10 km resolution gridded temperature data for the Tampere region (Aalto et al., 2016). Measurements falling clearly outside the climatological range were removed. Subsequently, remaining values were filtered based on statistical properties of the measurements, using median and median absolute deviation (MAD) over short time intervals to identify and remove outliers. A final threshold based on deviations from the local median was applied to exclude any remaining extreme values.\n\nThe Local Climate Zones (LCZs) in Table 1. have been defined for each measurement station following the Global LCZ data (Demuzere 2022a, Demuzere, et al. 2022b) based on the Local Climate Zone (LCZ) Classification system by Stewart and Oke (2012). \n\nTable Of Contents: \n\nThe descriptions of the measurement stations are in Tampere_Table1_New.txt. \nColumns \n1. "en": "Contains measurement data of air temperature for the manuscript “Real-time measurements of micro-climatic temperature and relative humidity in the Finnish cities of Tampere, Helsinki and Rovaniemi” by Kühn et al. (in preparation) of 12 measurement stations in Rovaniemi.\n\nTechnical Info:\n\nThe measurements were conducted at a height of 3 m in the locations listed in Rovaniemi_Table1.txt during 3.-30.06.2025. Each measurement station consisted of three parts: a temperature and humidity sensor, a solar radiation shield, and an Internet of Things (IoT) device, which collected the measurement data and communicated them to a server via Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN). Temperature and relative humidity (RH) were measured by one integrated sensor, the Digital Matter I2C Temperature and Humidity Sensor [https://www.digitalmatter.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/I2C-Temperature-and-Humidity-Sensor-Datasheet.pdf] Within the sensor, the temperature and RH were measured using the Silicon Labs Si7021-A20 I2C Humidity and Temperature Sensor chip. The chip is factory calibrated and has maximum operating ranges of 0% to 100% RH and -40°C to +125°C temperature. The measurement accuracy for temperature is maximum ±0.4°C if the ambient temperature is between -10°C and 85°C. The measurement accuracy of the chip is maximum ±3% RH if the ambient RH is between 0% and 80%.\n\nThe Temperature and Humidity Sensor was protected by a radiation shield to minimize the influence of direct sunlight and thermal radiation on the measurements. The radiation shield (height 11.5 cm, radius 14 cm) was made of white plastic and consisted of 9 ventilated plates stacked in a cylindrical design allowing for adequate airflow while shielding the sensor from external radiation.\n\nQuality check\nThe temperature data was quality checked using a multi-step procedure. First, values were screened based on long-term climatological daily minimum and maximum temperatures derived from 10 km × 10 km resolution gridded temperature data for the Tampere region (Aalto et al., 2016). Measurements falling clearly outside the climatological range were removed. Subsequently, remaining values were filtered based on statistical properties of the measurements, using median and median absolute deviation (MAD) over short time intervals to identify and remove outliers. A final threshold based on deviations from the local median was applied to exclude any remaining extreme values.\n\nThe Local Climate Zones (LCZs) in Rovaniemi_Table1_New. have been defined for each measurement station following the Global LCZ data (Demuzere 2022a, Demuzere, et al. 2022b) based on the Local Climate Zone (LCZ) Classification system by Stewart and Oke (2012).\n\nTable Of Contents:\n\nThe descriptions of the measurement stations are in Rovaniemi_Table1.txt.\nColumns\n1. "en": "Datasets that support the major results of the study that quantifies the long-term impacts of peatland drying on microbial and bryospheric carbon fixation. The ongoing climate change is predicted to lead to the drying of northern peatlands. Persistent drying changes peatland vegetation as well as the abiotic environment in the moss layer. However, it is not well established how these changes alter bryospheric (moss layer) photosynthesis and the contribution of photoautotrophic microbes. Here, we aimed to understand how long-term drying affects microbial and bryospheric carbon fixation through various changes in different peatland types. We utilised a 20-year water level drawdown (WLD) experiment in Lakkasuo peatland (61°47′N, 24°18′E), Central Finland. The experiment covers three different peatland types typical for the boreal zone, namely rich fen, poor fen, and bog. We measured microbial photosynthetic capacity, moss photosynthesis capacity, and environmental variables. We also quantified the oxygenic photoautotrophic microbes targeting 23S rRNA gene and quantified their absolute abundance using digital PCR technique."

"en": "This collection contains excerpts from Soviet music and cultural journals and newspapers published between 1917 and 1932. Selected articles were part of the study, which analysed formation of Soviet music politics from a conceptual historical perspective. The collection does not contain publications which are already available in digitized form online or publication of which is prohibitied. If the publication is already available online, link to the relevant source is provided in the ReadMe file.\r\n\r\nThe data was collected in the summer of 2019 in the Russian National Library and the Russian Institute of Art History (RIII) by photographing articles relevant to the research task. Photographs were converted into PDF form. The data was analysed with the Atlas.ti software which allows making notes and coding the data. The published collection contains only the original articles in PDF form and not the analysis process or notes from the Atlas.ti.\r\n\r\nThe collection does not contain full issues or volumes of the publications but selected articles. Photographing, storing and naming of full issues would not have been possible due to the extent of the data. In addition, the collection of the libraries were not complete and some of the issues or volumes were missing in the library collections. The published data collection is therefore a diverse and rich yet an incomplete representation of the early Soviet music and art publications. If the data is reused, it is important to note the gaps in the original collection and the selection of articles for a specific research task.",
"fi": "Kokoelma sisältää otteita Neuvostoliiton musiikki- ja kulttuurilehdistä vuodesta 1917 ulottuen 1930-luvun alkuun saakka. Artikkelit liittyvät tutkimukseen, jossa tarkasteltiin Neuvostoliiton musiikkipolitiikan muotoutumista käsitehistoriallisesta näkökulmasta. Aineisto ei sisällä tutkimuksessa hyödynnettyjä julkaisuja, jotka ovat jo valmiiksi saatavilla sähköisesti tai joiden tallentaminen oli erikseen kielletty. Mikäli aineisto on saatavilla vapaasti internetissä, aineistoon on annettu linkki ReadMe-tiedostossa.\r\n\r\nAineisto kerättiin kesällä 2019 Venäjän kansalliskirjaston ja Venäjän taiteiden historian instituutin (RIII) kokoelmista valokuvaamalla tutkimustehtävään liittyviä artikkeleita. Valokuvatut artikkelit muunnettiin PDF-muotoon. Analyysivaiheessa tiedostot vietiin Atlas.ti-ohjelmaan, jossa aineistosta tehtiin muistiinpanoja ja jossa hyödynnettiin ohjelman mahdollisuutta koodata aineistoja ja niiden sisältöjä. "en": "This dataset contains forest inventory data collected from a network of permanent sample plots across Finland at three time points: 1985-86, 1990-91, and 1995.\n The network was established in 1985-1986 in conjunction with the 8th National Forest Inventory (VMI). It originally consisted of approximately 3,000 permanent plots designed to monitor long-term changes in forest ecosystems and environmental conditions.\n The data was gathered using a systematic cluster sampling design that covers the entire country. The sampling strategy varies between two regions:\n - Southern Finland: Clusters of plots are arranged on a 16 km by 16 km grid. Each cluster contains four sample plots positioned along a south-to-north axis at 400-meter intervals.\n - Northern Finland (Lapland and Koillis-Suomi): The sampling grid is sparser, with clusters located on a 24 km (south-north) by 32 km (east-west) grid. Each northern cluster consists of three plots, also oriented south-to-north, with a spacing of 600 meters between them.\n The dataset is structured hierarchically into three levels for each measurement year:\n 1. Tree Data (lukupuu.csv): Contains measurements for individual trees, including species, diameter, height, age, quality, and any observed damage.\n 2. Plot Data (koeala.csv): Provides information about each sample plot, such as its unique identifier, geographic coordinates, and measurement dates.\n 3. "en": "Positive supercoiling buildup (PSB) is a pervasive phenomenon in the transcriptional programs of Escherichia coli. After finding a range of Gyrase concentrations where the inverse of the transcription rate of a chromosome-integrated gene changes linearly with the inverse of Gyrase concentration, we apply a Line Weaver-Burk plot to dissect the expected in vivo transcription rate in absence of PSB. We validate the estimation by time-lapse microscopy of single-RNA production kinetics of the same gene when single-copy plasmid-borne, shown to be impervious to Gyrase inhibition. Next, we estimate the fraction of time in locked states and number of transcription events prior to locking, which we validate by measurements under Gyrase inhibition. Replacing the gene of interest by one with slower transcription rate decreases the fraction of time in locked states due to PSB. Finally, we combine data from both constructs to infer a range of possible transcription initiation locking kinetics in a chromosomal location, obtainable by tuning the transcription rate. We validate with measurements of transcription activity at different induction levels. This strategy for dissecting transcription initiation locking kinetics due to PSB can contribute to resolve the transcriptional programs of E. coli and in the engineering of synthetic genetic circuits."

"en": "This dataset contains tracking results of AsPC1 and MiaPaca cells perfused on CD44 siRNA-silenced endothelial monolayers under physiological flow speeds. Videos were recorded using a Nikon Eclipse Ti2-E microscope and 20x objective. Perfused cells from the generated videos were segmented using custom-trained Stardist models. Tracking was performed using TrackMate, and tracking results were analyzed using a custom CellTracksColab notebook. The dataset here contains the CSV files generated by TrackMate (Track and Spots information), the tracking data stored in the CellTracksColab format (Analysis.zip), and the analysis output used in the paper (Analysis.zip). "en": "ABOships-PLUS is an improved iteration of the original ABOships dataset. It includes 9,880 images capturing maritime scenes, showcasing various types of maritime objects such as powerboats, ships, sailboats, and stationary objects. Detailed category definitions and images can be found in the associated reference paper. In total, ABOships-PLUS contains 33,227 annotated objects across these categories, including four types of ships. Several key changes and improvements have been made to ABOships-PLUS: Object Size Filtering: In ABOships-PLUS, a filtering process was applied to exclude very small objects, specifically those with an occupied pixel area less than 16^2x16^2 pixels. This filtering ensures that the dataset primarily consists of more discernible maritime objects, contributing to improved data quality. Superclass Aggregation: A notable transformation in ABOships-PLUS is the grouping of objects into four superclasses based on their distinct visual characteristics. This superclass aggregation facilitates the use of both transfer learning and learning from scratch, making the dataset more versatile for various machine learning applications. Semantic Relevance: The categorization into superclasses in ABOships-PLUS was guided by semantic relevance, with human supervision. The objective was to create more meaningful superclasses, both from a semantic and visual perspective, enhancing the dataset's utility for maritime object detection research. Format Transition: A significant change occurred in the data format. ABOships-PLUS adopts the COCO format for object detection: https://cocodataset.org/#format-data. This format transition enhances compatibility with a broader range of machine learning frameworks and tools, in contrast to the original ABOships dataset, which used CSV format. To create ABOships-PLUS, images were extracted from videos recorded in MPEG format, with a resolution of 720p at 15 frames per second (FPS). An image was extracted every 15 seconds, equivalent to every 225 frames, from videos filmed in the Finnish Archipelago using a camera attached to a moving watercraft known as a waterbus or \"vesibussi\" in Finnish. The distribution of labels within ABOships-PLUS is as follows: powerboat (21.8%), ship (46.0%), sailboat (24.2%), and stationary objects (8.1%). "en": "Benthic species and communities are linked to pelagic zooplankton through life-stages encompassing both benthic and pelagic habitats and through a mutual dependency on primary producers as a food source. Many zooplankton taxa contribute to the sedimentary system as benthic eggs. Our main aim was to investigate the nature of the population level biotic interactions between and within these two seemingly independent communities, both dependent on the pelagic primary production, while simultaneously accounting for environmental drivers (salinity, temperature and oxygen conditions). To this end we applied multivariate autoregressive state-space models to long (1966–2007) time-series of annual abundance data, comparing models with and without interspecific interactions, as well as models with and without environmental variables included. We were not able to detect any direct coupling between sediment-dwelling benthic taxa and pelagic copepods and cladocerans on the annual scale, but the most parsimonious model indicated that interactions within the benthic community are important. There were also positive residual correlations between the copepods and cladocerans potentially reflecting the availability of a shared resource or similar seasonal dependence, whereas both groups tended to correlate negatively with the zoobenthic taxa. The most notable single interaction within the benthic community was a tendency for a negative effect of Limecola balthica on the amphipods Monoporeia affinis and Pontoporeia femorata, which can help explain the observed decrease of amphipods due to increased competitive interference."
