The data contains both toy data generated using a software emulation of a reel-to-reel tape recorder, as well as real data collected from a physical device. The various subsets can be used for training, validating, and testing neural network behavior, similarly as was done in the research article.\r\n\r\n# Toy and Real Data\r\n\r\nThe toy data was generated using CHOWTape, a physically modeled reel-to-reel tape recorder (https://github.com/jatinchowdhury18/AnalogTapeModel/) The subsets generated with the software emulation are denoted with the string `CHOWTAPE`. Two variants of the toy data was produced: in the first variant, the fluctuating delay produced by the simulated tape transport was disabled, and in the second kind, the delay was enabled. The latter variants are denoted with the string `WOWFLUTTER`.\r\n\r\nThe real data is collected using an Akai 4000D reel-to-reel tape recorder. The corresponding subsets are denoted with the string `AKAI`. Two tape speeds were used during the recording: 3 3/4 IPS (inches per second) and 7 1/2 IPS, with the corresponding subsets denoted with '3.75IPS' and '7.5IPS' respectively. On top of this, two different brands of magnetic tape were used for capturing the datasets with different tape speeds: Maxell and Scotch, with the corresponding subsets denoted with 'MAXELL' and 'SCOTCH' respectively.\r\n\r\n# Directories\r\n\r\nFor training the models, a fraction of the inputs from SignalTrain LA2A Dataset was used (https://zenodo.org/record/3824876) The training, validation, and testing can be replicated using the subsets:\r\n- ReelToReel_Dataset_MiniPulse100_AKAI_*/ (hysteretic nonlinearity, real data)\r\n- ReelToReel_Dataset_Mini192kHzPulse100_AKAI_*/ (delay generator, real data)\r\n- Silence_AKAI_*/ (noise generator, real data)\r\n- ReelToReel_Dataset_MiniPulse100_CHOWTAPE*/ (hysteretic nonlinearity, toy data)\r\n- ReelToReel_Dataset_MiniPulse100_CHOWTAPE_F[0.6]_SL[60]_TRAJECTORIES/ (delay generator, toy data)\r\n\r\nFor visualizing the model behavior, the following subsets can be used:\r\n- LogSweepsContinuousPulse100_*/ (nonlinear magnitude responses)\r\n- SinesFadedShortContinuousPulse100*/ (magnetic hysteresis curves)\r\n\r\n# Directory structure\r\n\r\nEach directory/subset is made of up of further subdirectories that are most often used to separate the training, validation and test sets from each other. Thus, a typical directory will look like the following:\r\n```\r\n[DIRECTORY_NAME]\r\n├── Train\r\n│ ├── input_x_.wav\r\n│ ...\r\n│ ├── target_x_.wav\r\n│ ...\r\n└── Val\r\n│ ├── input_y_.wav\r\n│ ...\r\n│ ├── target_y_.wav\r\n│ ...\r\n├── Test\r\n│ ├── input_z_.wav\r\n│ ...\r\n│ ├── target_z_.wav\r\n│ ...\r\n```\r\n\r\nWhile not all of the audio is used for training purposes, all of the subsets share part of this structure to make the corresponding datasets compatible with the dataloader that was used.\r\n\r\nThe input and target files denoted with the same number `x`, e.g. `input_100_.wav` and `target_100_.wav` make up a pair, such that the target audio is the input audio processed with one of the used effects. In some of the cases, a third file named `trajectory_x_.npy` can be found, which consists of the corresponding pre-extracted delay trajectory in the `NumPy` binary file format."

DOI: 10.1002/ece3.10197.\r\n\r\nThe dataset consists of biconical reflectance factors of nine Sphagnum moss species collected from southern Finland. The samples were collected in May 2022, and the nadir-view reflectance factors were measured in a dark laboratory using an ASD FieldSpec 4 spectroradiometer (serial number 18641). The spectral range of measurements was 350-2500 nm, and spectral resolution was 3 nm at 700 nm and 10 nm at 1400 and 2100 nm. During the measurement, the sample was illuminated with a 12 V 50 W Quartz Tungsten Halogen lamp, with an illumination angle of 40º. The spectra of nine species are reported, with 10 samples for each species. The size of each sample was 21,7 * 21,5 cm, and they were measured four times: as fresh (0h, within four to six hours after initial collection), after one day (24h), after two days (48h) and after one week (1w) of the sample collection. Between the spectral measurements, the samples were stored in open containers in a semi-dark room with no direct sunlight and standard temperature (average 20.5 ºC) and air humidity (average 29 %). Example photographs of the fresh sampled species can be found from the file Data_description.pdf.\r\n\r\nThe spectra are reported in two versions: as raw data (“_raw”) and as smoothed with Savitzky-Golay filter with 25 nm window (”_smoothed”). The first three rows in the data contain information for citing and reading the data. After that, the first column indicates the species and ID number of the sample, as well as the time of measurement (0h, 24h, 48h or 1w). The second column indicates simply the species of the sample, the third column indicates the within-species sample ID, the fourth column indicates the time of measurement and the fifth indicates the location of the sampling site (peatland name_municipality). The subsequent columns (wl350-wl2500) indicate the measured reflectance value at that wavelength. "en": "Data description: AVID includes speech and EGG produced by 50 speakers (25 males, 25 females) who varied their vocal intensity in four categories (soft, normal, loud, and very loud). Recordings were conducted using a constant mouth-to-microphone distance and by recording a calibration tone. The speech data was labeled sentence-wise using a total of 19 labels that support the utilisation of the data in ML-based studies of vocal intensity based on supervised learning. General Description The dataset is shared in BIDS format. To facilitate the upload of files to Zenodo, each subject folder was compressed separately. To ensure a valid bids structure of the dataset, extract the contents of each zip file and place them in the same directory as the other files from the dataset. By doing so, you will have all the necessary files in the correct structure for the BIDS format. Data type: raw TMS-EEG data organized in BIDS format, and epoched ±800 ms around the pulse. preprocessed motor skill and word recall data organized in BIDS format (.tsv = data file; .json = data description). Key to Filenames: sub = Participant ses-preLearning = Session 1 data folder ses-postLearnng = Session 2 data folder eeg = TMS-EEG data folder beh = behaviral data folder Participants: 45 healthy participants (30 females, 23.9±3.6 years; mean ± std) Groups: Participants were randomly assigned to three different groups with different behavioural conditions: - In the 'motorSkill'-group, participants performed a sequential motor-skill task followed by a wordlist memory task. (sub-01 to sub-15) - In the 'wordRecall'-group, participants performed a wordlist memory followed by a sequential task motor-skill task. (sub-16 to sub-30) - In the 'control'-group, participants performed a random motor-skill task followed by a wordlist memory task. (sub-31 to sub-45) TMS-EEG data description Stimulation sites: Right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (rDLPFC). Left primary motor cortex (lM1). Sessions: Session 1: TMS-EEG recordings before the behavioural tasks. Session 2: TMS-EEG recordings after the behavioural tasks. Number of TMS pulses: 126 pulses delivered to either DLPFC or M1 before, before and after behavioural tasks (a total of 252 pulses for Session 1 and Session 2, each). Inter-Stimulus Interval: 4-6 s (4.9±0.6 s, mean ± std). TMS intensity: 80% of participants' individual motor threshold. TMS machine: Magstim Rapid2, Magstim Company. Coil: figure-of-eight coil (Double 70-mm Alpha Coil). Number of channels: 62-channel EEG channels (AFz and TP9 are used as reference and ground, respectively) + 1 FDI EMG channel + 1 electrode on the outer canthus of the left eye to monitor eye movements. Sampling rate: 5000 Hz. Voltage resolution: 0.1 uV. EEG system: TMS-EEG compatible BrainAmp (Brain Products). Noise masking during TMS-EEG recordings: Yes. Memory tasks data description Motor skill task 'motorSkill'-group (sub-01 to sub-15): TestSerial; averaged response time of the last 50 serial trials immediately after learning. TestRandom; averaged response time for the 50 subsequent random trials immediately after learning. RetestSerial; averaged response time for the last 50 serial trials 10h after learning. RetestRandom; averaged response time for the 50 subsequent random trials 10h after learning. 'wordRecall'-group (sub-16 to sub-30): TestSerial; averaged response time for the last 50 serial trials immediately after learning. TestRandom; averaged response time for the 50 subsequent random trials immediately after learning. 'control'-group (sub-31 to sub-45): TestRandom; averaged response time of the last 100 random trials at testing. "en": "The dataset includes understory spectral reflectance factors at wavelengths of 350–2500 nm, fractional cover data of understory, forest inventory data, and data on the light availability at forest floor (diffuse non-interceptance, DIFN) and tree canopy structure (effective plant area index, PAIe) in hemiboreal and temperate forests in Europe. The data were collected near peak growing seasons 2019–2020 in situ in total of 31 forest stands in a hemiboreal study site in Estonia (13 stands: 58°17’N, 27°19’E), and temperate mountain (8 stands: 49°30′N, 18°32′E) and floodplain (10 stands: 48°41′N, 16°57′E) sites in the Czech Republic.\r\n\r\nThe first spread sheet contains descriptions of the variables, second spread sheet the stand characteristics, and third the spectral data.\r\n\r\nWe thank Daniel Schraik, Bijay Karki, Titta Majasalmi, Petr Lukeš, Lucie Homolová, Mait Lang, Jan Pisek, Mihkel Kaha, and Lauri Korhonen for collaboration. "en": "Abstract Aim This study aimed to evaluate the effects of using the teach-back method among women with limited maternal health literacy (LMHL) on maternal health literacy(MHL), postpartum health behaviours and maternal-infant health outcomes. Methods A randomized controlled study was conducted in the obstetrics department of Anhui Provincial Hospital, China. A total of 258 pregnant women with LMHL were recruited at the point of admission to the hospital for birth and randomly assigned to the control group (n = 130), where women received routine education sessions, and the teach-back group (n = 128), where women received routine education sessions plus a teach-back intervention. The two groups were assessed in terms of MHL before and after the intervention, breastfeeding execution, uptake of 42-day postpartum check-ups, complete uptake of one-time recommended vaccines, and physical health outcomes. Statistical tests were employed for data analysis. Results There was no significant difference between the two groups in terms of MHL and other social, demographic, and medical status at baseline. After the intervention, the teach-back group had a higher level of MHL (p < 0.001), better postpartum health behaviours in terms of exclusive breastfeeding within 24 hours postpartum (x2 = 22.853, p"

"en": "Abstract Background A deep understanding of carcinogenesis at the DNA level underpins many advances in cancer prevention and treatment. Mutational signatures provide a breakthrough conceptualisation, as well as an analysis framework, that can be used to build such understanding. They capture somatic mutation patterns and at best identify their causes. Most studies in this context have focused on an inherently additive analysis, e.g. by non-negative matrix factorization, where the mutations within a cancer sample are explained by a linear combination of independent mutational signatures. However, other recent studies show that the mutational signatures exhibit non-additive interactions. Results We carefully analysed such additive model fits from the PCAWG study cataloguing mutational signatures as well as their activities across thousands of cancers. Our analysis identified systematic and non-random structure of residuals that is left unexplained by the additive model. We used hierarchical clustering to identify cancer subsets with similar residual profiles to show that both systematic mutation count overestimation and underestimation take place. We propose an extension to the additive mutational signature model—multiplicatively acting modulatory processes—and develop a maximum-likelihood framework to identify such modulatory mutational signatures. The augmented model is expressive enough to almost fully remove the observed systematic residual patterns. Conclusion We suggest the modulatory processes biologically relate to sample specific DNA repair propensities with cancer or tissue type specific profiles. Overall, our results identify an interesting direction where to expand signature analysis."

"en": "Abstract Background DNA methylation plays an important role in studying the epigenetics of various biological processes including many diseases. Although differential methylation of individual cytosines can be informative, given that methylation of neighboring CpGs are typically correlated, analysis of differentially methylated regions is often of more interest. Results We have developed a probabilistic method and software, LuxHMM, that uses hidden Markov model (HMM) to segment the genome into regions and a Bayesian regression model, which allows handling of multiple covariates, to infer differential methylation of regions. Moreover, our model includes experimental parameters that describe the underlying biochemistry in bisulfite sequencing and model inference is done using either variational inference for efficient genome-scale analysis or Hamiltonian Monte Carlo (HMC). Conclusions Analyses of real and simulated bisulfite sequencing data demonstrate the competitive performance of LuxHMM compared with other published differential methylation analysis methods."
