Aineisto on kerätty osana Suomenruotsalaista barometriä (Barometern), joka kuuluu kansalliseen yleisen mielipiteen mittaamisen infrastruktuuriin (The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion, FIRIPO). Aluksi vastaajilta tiedusteltiin, kuinka huolissaan he ovat COVID-19 pandemiasta. Tämän jälkeen pyydettiin arvioimaan eri yhteiskunnan toimijoiden toimintaa koronaviruspandemian suhteen sekä kysyttiin kuinka luotettavina vastaajat pitävät eri lähteistä saatua tietoa COVID-19-taudista. Edelleen tiedusteltiin mielipiteitä hallituksen toteuttamista toimenpiteistä koronavirustilanteen hillitsemiseksi sekä kysyttiin mitä hallituksen suosituksia itse on noudattanut ja toteuttanut. Lopuksi tiedusteltiin vielä, miten koronavirus on vaikuttanut elämään sekä kuinka usein vastaajat ovat viime aikoina matkustaneet. Taustamuuttujina ovat asuinalue maakuntatasolla, sukupuoli, äidinkieli, syntymävuosi, ikä, koulutustaso ja ammattiasema.",
"en": "The survey explored the attitudes and opinions of Swedish-speaking Finns towards the COVID-19 pandemic. The data was collected as part of the Citizen Panel of Swedish-speaking Finns (Barometern), which is part of The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion (FIRIPO). First, respondents were asked how concerned they were about the COVID-19 pandemic. This was followed by an assessment of the response of different societal institutions to the coronavirus pandemic and a question on how reliable respondents consider the information on COVID-19 from different sources to be. Further, respondents were asked about their opinions on the measures taken by the government to contain the coronavirus situation and what recommendations the respondents have followed and implemented. Finally, respondents were asked how their lives have been affected by the coronavirus and how often they have travelled recently. Background variables included the respondent's NUTS3 region of residence, gender, mother tongue, year of birth, age, level of education and occupational status."

Vastaajilta kysyttiin myös suomenruotsalaisten verkkouutisten maksuhalukkuudesta. Heiltä tiedusteltiin, mistä syistä he voisivat maksaa verkkouutisista ja paljonko he olisivat valmiita maksamaan näistä. Vastaavasti kysyttiin, mistä syistä ei ole halukas maksamaan verkkouutisista sekä syitä tilauksen peruuttamiselle. Seuraavaksi vastaajilta tiedusteltiin muiden digitaalisten palveluiden käytöstä ja käytön muutoksesta koronapandemian jälkeen. Lopuksi vastaajilta kysyttiin näkemyksiä korruption ilmenemisestä sekä luottamuksesta eri instituutioihin. Taustamuuttujina ovat asuinalue maakuntatasolla, ikä, sukupuoli, äidinkieli, koulutustaso, ammattiasema ja puoluekanta.",
"en": "The survey charted the consumption of news and media and the trust in different media by Swedish-speaking Finns. Views on corruption were also examined. The data was collected as part of the Citizen Panel of Swedish-speaking Finns (Barometern), which is part of The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion (FIRIPO). Respondents were first asked about the amount of media they use, followed by more detailed questions about their use of news media and social media. Next, respondents were asked to rate their level of trust in the different news media. In this context, they were also asked about their perception of the objectivity of journalists. Respondents were also asked about their willingness to pay for Swedish-speaking Finns online news. They were asked about the reasons why they would pay for online news and how much they would be prepared to pay for it. Similarly, they were asked about the reasons for not being willing to pay for online news and the reasons for cancelling a subscription. Next, respondents were asked about their use of other digital services and changes in their use since the Covid19 pandemic. Finally, respondents were asked about their views on the occurrence of corruption and their trust in different institutions. Background variables included the respondent's NUTS3 region of residence, age, gender, mother tongue, level of education, occupational status and political party choice."

"fi": "Festivaalibarometri kokoaa tietoa suurten rytmimusiikkifestivaalien kävijöistä ja seuraa kävijöiden musiikki- ja festivaalimieltymysten muuttumista vuosien kuluessa. Vuonna 2020 mukana oli myös kysymyksiä liittyen koronapandemiaan. Aineisto sisältää kolme avokysymystä, joiden vastaukset soveltuvat myös laadulliseen analyysiin. Tutkimuksen toteutuksessa olivat mukana LiveFIN ry, Lapin yliopiston matkailualan tutkimus- ja koulutusinstituutti, Taideyliopiston Sibelius-Akatemia sekä tutkimukseen osallistuneet festivaalit. Kyselyn alussa vastaaja valitsee festivaalin, jota hänen vastauksensa kyselyn ensimmäiseen osioon koskee. Vastaajan tuli olla osallistunut kyseiselle festivaalille vuonna 2019 tai sitä ennen. Tähän valittuun festivaaliin liittyen kysyttiin vastaajan tyytyväisyyttä festivaaliin ja pyydettiin arvioimaan sen vaikutuksia järjestyspaikkakunnalle. Seuraavaksi kysyttiin, paljonko rahaa vastaaja käytti festivaalialueella ja sen ulkopuolella. Yleisemmässä osassa kyselyä vastaajaa pyydettiin arvioimaan suomalaisia festivaaleja eri osa-alueittain. Kysyttiin esimerkiksi, mikä saisi vastaajan osallistumaan festivaaleille useammin. Edelleen kartoitettiin festivaalielämyksen kannalta tärkeitä asioita liittyen muun muassa esiintyjiin ja ohjelmistoon, ruokailu- ja anniskelupalveluihin, festivaalialueeseen ja festivaalien arvoihin. Hintoihin liittyviä tekijöitä tarkasteltiin muun muassa kysymällä, kuinka paljon eri tuotteet tai palvelut saisivat maksaa. Seuraavaksi kysyttiin vastaajien todennäköisyyttä osallistua festivaaleille tulevina vuosina ja kartoitettiin avokysymyksellä syitä siihen, miksi osallistumista pidetään epätodennäköisenä. Lisäksi selvitettiin mieluisimpia musiikkityylejä, suhdetta musiikkiin sekä mitä festivaalia vastaaja pitää Suomessa kiinnostavimpana. Lopuksi esitettiin väittämiä koronapandemian vaikutuksiin liittyen sekä avokysymys siitä, miten pandemia on vaikuttanut vastaajan suhtautumiseen festivaaleihin. Taustamuuttujina ovat syntymävuosi, sukupuoli, suurimmat kaupungit, muut kunnat maakunnittain, koulutus, ammattiryhmä, yhteiskuntaluokka ja vuositulot. Kyselyn avulla voidaan tehdä ajallista vertailua sarjan muihin aineistoihin, sillä useampana vuonna vastanneet voidaan yhdistää id-muuttujan avulla.",
"en": "The festival barometer aims to collect information on Finnish festival visitors and the changes that occur in their taste in music and festivals over the years. In 2020, questions related to the COVID-19 pandemic were also included. The data includes three open-ended questions, with answers that are also suitable for qualitative analysis. LiveFIN ry, Lapland Institute for Tourism Research, the Sibelius Academy at the University of the Arts and the participating festivals were involved in the implementation of the survey. At the beginning of the questionnaire, the respondent selects the festival to which their answers to the first part of the questionnaire relates. The respondent must have attended the festival in question in 2019 or before. In relation to this selected festival, the respondent was asked about his/her satisfaction with the festival and asked to assess its impact on the host city. The next question asked how much money the respondent spent on and off the festival site. In the more general part of the survey, respondents were asked to rate Finnish festivals by different aspects. For example, the question asked what would make the respondent attend festivals more often. Further, the respondents were asked about issues important to the festival experience, such as performers and programming, food and beverage services, the festival area and the values of festivals. Price-related factors were examined by asking, among other things, how much different products or services should cost. Next, respondents were asked about their likelihood of attending festivals in future years, followed by an open-ended question on the reasons why attendance was considered unlikely. The survey also examined the respondents' favourite music styles, their relationship with music and which festival they find most interesting in Finland. Finally, statements were made about the impact of the corona pandemic and an open-ended question about how the pandemic has affected the respondent's attitude towards festivals. Background variables included year of birth, gender, largest cities, other municipalities by county, education, occupational group, social class and annual income. The questionnaire allows comparisons over time with other data in the series, as respondents from more than one year can be combined using the id variable."

Aluksi vastaajilta kysyttiin ruotsin ja suomen kielen käytöstä eri yhteyksissä, kuten työpaikalla ja kotona. Sitten tiedusteltiin kieli-ilmapiiristä, esimerkiksi miten eri paikoissa on suhtauduttu ruotsin kielen käyttämiseen ja kaksikielisyyteen, sekä yhteenkuuluvuudesta, esimerkiksi kysyttiin, missä määrin he tunsivat samaistuvansa eri ympäristöihin, maihin ja alueisiin. Vastaajilta kysyttiin myös yleisesti politiikasta ja demokratiasta sekä tarkemmin ajankohtaisista poliittisista aiheista sekä eri vaaleissa äänestämisestä. Sitten kysyttiin myös ilmastonmuutokseen ja ympäristöön liittyviä asioita. Vastaajilta tiedusteltiin luottamusta yhteiskunnallisten instituutioiden toimintaan ja poliittisiin päättäjiin. "en": "The survey charted the opinions of Swedish-speaking Finns on their linguistic identity, use of Swedish, politics, society, values and cohesion. Respondents were first asked about their use of Swedish and Finnish in different contexts, such as at work and at home. They were then asked about the language atmosphere, for example, how they felt about using Swedish and being bilingual in different places, and about cohesion, for example, to what extent they felt they identified with different environments, countries and regions. Respondents were also asked about politics and democracy in general and more specifically about current political issues and voting in different elections. They were also asked about issues related to climate change and the environment. Respondents were asked about their confidence in the functioning of social institutions and in political decision-makers. Background variables included the respondent's NUTS3 region of residence, broader region of recidence, age, gender, level of education, mother tongue, marital status, employment status, household size and number of children."

Aineisto on osa monitieteistä Jyväskylän ja Tampereen yliopistojen sekä Terveyden ja hyvinvoinnin laitoksen yhteistyössä toteuttamaa Tasa-arvon kysymykset lasten varhaiskasvatuksen, esiopetuksen ja hoidon tukien järjestelmässä -hanketta (CHILDCARE). Kyselyn alussa kartoitettiin yksivuotiaan lapsen ja kyselyyn vastanneen aikuisen taustatietoja sekä selvitettiin yksivuotiaan lapsen terveystilannetta ja kehitystä sekä kysyttiin imetyksestä. Tämän jälkeen kysyttiin lasten hoitojärjestelyistä, hoitomuodon valinnasta ja perhevapaista. Seuraavaksi kysyttiin vastaajan työhön, työn ja perheen yhteensovittamiseen ja terveystilanteeseen liittyviä kysymyksiä. Sitten selvitettiin perheen tilannetta ja tukea sekä vastaajan asumista ja toimeentuloa. Lisäksi vastaajilta kysyttiin ajatuksia lastenhoitoon liittyvistä poliittisista päätöksistä sekä varhaiskasvatuksen järjestämistä koskevista asioista. Vastaajan taustatietoina ovat muun muassa asuinkunta (luokiteltuna), sukupuoli, ikäryhmä, siviilisääty, perheenjäsenet, suhde perheen yksivuotiaaseen lapseen, koulutustaso, elämäntilannetta ja työsuhdetta kuvaavat tiedot, asumismuoto ja perheen tulot. Kyselyn kohteena olevasta lapsesta taustatietoina ovat muun muassa sukupuoli, ikä, asumisen järjestelyt ja huoltajuutta koskeva tieto. Lisäksi vastaajan puolison taustatietoja ovat koulutustaso sekä elämäntilanne. Aineistossa olevan satunnaistetun id-muuttujan perusteella tämän ja FSD3578 Varhaiskasvatuskysely 2019 -aineiston ajallinen vertailu on mahdollista.",
"en": "The survey examined the circumstances of families with one-year-old children regarding, among other topics, living arrangements, income, parental roles, childcare arrangements, and childcare allowances and vouchers. Respondents included the guardians of one-year-old children in Finland. The survey was conducted as part of the Finnish Childcare Policies: In/equality in Focus (CHILDCARE) research project, a joint collaboration by the University of Jyväskylä, Tampere University and Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare. First, the respondents were asked about their one-year-old child's health and development. Questions surveyed, for example, breastfeeding, possible medical conditions, and the respondents' relationship with their child. Regarding childcare arrangements, the respondents were asked where they had looked for information on day care services and financial support, what arrangements they had in place for their one-year-old and any other children, how satisfied they were with the arrangements, and whether they received any financial support towards the cost of childcare. Further questions were asked based on whether the child was at home or looked after by an unpaid carer or in day care. Next, the respondents' work situation, work and family life balance, physical and mental health, and changes in family circumstances were surveyed. Questions also focused on the support the respondents received with parenting, as well as their financial situation, political decision-making, and views on day care-related issues on a municipal and general level. Background variables included, among others, the respondent's municipality of residence (categorised), gender, age group, marital status, family composition, relationship to the one-year-old child, level of education, current activity and employment, and household income. Additionally, background information relating to the child was collected, including the child's gender, age, living arrangements, and information on the child's guardians. The education and current activity of the respondent's spouse/partner were also charted."

Tässä aineistossa on vuosien 2014 ja 2016 Festivaalibarometrien vastauksia. Tutkimuksessa mukana olevat kohdefestivaalit ovat Blockfest (Tampere), Flow Festival (Helsinki), Ilosaarirock (Joensuu), Jurassic Rock (Mikkeli), Kuopio RockCock (Kuopio), Pori Jazz, Provinssi (Seinäjoki), Qstock (Oulu), Ruisrock (Turku), Tuska Open Air Metal Festival (Helsinki) ja Weekend Festival (Helsinki). Vuoden 2014 Festivaalibarometrissa olivat mukana Seinäjoen ammattikorkeakoulun TATU2-hanke sekä Turun yliopiston kauppakorkeakoulun ja Taideyliopiston JOHDE II -hanke. Vuoden 2016 Festivaalibarometria on tukenut Taideyliopiston Sibelius-Akatemian Seinäjoen yksikkö. Ensin kyselyssä selvitettiin, mille kotimaisille festivaaleille vastaaja on osallistunut kyselyvuonna ja muutamana aikaisempana vuonna. Lisäksi kysyttiin, miten kiinnostavina vastaaja pitää eri kotimaisia festivaaleja ja pyydettiin arvioimaan suurimpien suomalaisten festivaalien yleistä tasoa muun muassa ohjelmiston ja palveluiden osalta. Seuraavaksi kysyttiin, mikä saisi osallistumaan festivaaleille useammin. Edelleen kartoitettiin festivaalielämyksen kannalta tärkeitä asioita liittyen muun muassa esiintyjiin ja ohjelmistoon, ruokailu- ja anniskelupalveluihin, festivaalialueeseen ja festivaalien arvoihin. Hintoihin liittyviä tekijöitä tarkasteltiin muun muassa kysymällä, kuinka paljon eri tuotteet tai palvelut saisivat maksaa festivaaleilla. Seuraavaksi kysyttiin vastaajien todennäköisyyttä osallistua festivaaleille tulevina vuosina ja kartoitettiin avokysymyksellä syitä siihen, miksi osallistumista pidetään epätodennäköisenä. Kysyttiin myös vastaajan musiikkityyleistä ja rytmimusiikkikonserteissa tai -festivaaleilla käymisen määristä. Lopuksi kysyttiin vastaajan suhteesta musiikkiin ja tärkeistä henkilökohtaisista arvoista. Taustamuuttujina ovat syntymävuosi, sukupuoli, suurimmat kaupungit, muut kunnat maakunnittain, koulutus, ammattiryhmä, yhteiskuntaluokka ja vuositulot.",
"en": "The festival barometer aims to collect information on Finnish festival visitors and the changes that occur in their taste in music and festivals over the years. This study includes the surveys for the 2014 and 2016 festival barometers. The music festivals examined include Blockfest (Tampere), Flow Festival (Helsinki), Ilosaarirock (Joensuu), Jurassic Rock (Mikkeli), Kuopio RockCock (Kuopio), Pori Jazz, Provinssi (Seinäjoki), Qstock (Oulu), Ruisrock (Turku), Tuska Open Air Metal Festival (Helsinki) and Weekend Festival (Helsinki). The Lapland Institute for Tourism Research participated in conducting both barometers. Additionally, in 2014, the TATU2 project by the Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences and the JOHDE II project by the Turku School of Economics and the University of the Arts Helsinki were involved in conducting the barometer. In 2016, the barometer was conducted together with the Seinäjoki Unit of the Sibelius Academy (a unit of the University of the Arts Helsinki). First, the respondents were asked which Finnish festivals they had visited during the past few years and how interesting they thought various Finnish festivals were. Opinions on the general quality of various aspects of the biggest Finnish festivals, such as performers, food and drink services, security, and marketing, were charted. Next, the respondents were asked whether they would attend festivals more often if various preconditions were fulfilled (e.g. if the performers were more interesting, tickets were cheaper, travelling to the festival was easier, cheaper or faster, or more information was available on festivals). Some questions focused on the significance of several aspects for achieving a successful festival experience, for example, positive surprises in performances, diverse food and drink services, clean bathrooms, and the values represented by the festival. The respondents' opinions on how much festival products and services should cost were surveyed next. The products and services surveyed included, for instance, a three-day admission ticket for a festival with domestic performers, a quality portion of food served in the festival area, and a glass of beer or cider served in the festival area. The respondents were also asked how likely it was that they would visit a festival next year, in five years or in ten years. The respondents' taste in music (e.g. how interesting they thought pop, rock, punk or jazz music was) as well as their relationship with music (e.g. whether music was one of the most important things in their life and whether they actively recommended artists, songs or albums to their friends) were examined. Finally, the respondents were asked how important several values were for them personally (e.g. power, pleasure, benevolence and tradition). Background variables included the respondent's year of birth, gender, municipality of residence (categorised into largest cities or NUTS3 regions), highest level of education, occupational status, subjective social class and gross annual income."

Edelleen kartoitettiin festivaalielämyksen kannalta tärkeitä asioita liittyen muun muassa esiintyjiin ja ohjelmistoon, ruokailu- ja anniskelupalveluihin, festivaalialueeseen ja festivaalien arvoihin. Hintoihin liittyviä tekijöitä tarkasteltiin muun muassa kysymällä, kuinka paljon eri tuotteet tai palvelut saisivat maksaa festivaaleilla. Seuraavaksi kysyttiin vastaajien todennäköisyyttä osallistua festivaaleille tulevina vuosina ja kartoitettiin avokysymyksellä syitä siihen, miksi osallistumista pidetään epätodennäköisenä. Kysyttiin myös vastaajan musiikkityyleistä ja rytmimusiikkikonserteissa tai -festivaaleilla käymisen määristä. Lopuksi kysyttiin vastaajan suhteesta musiikkiin ja tärkeistä henkilökohtaisista arvoista. Tietoarkistoon on tallennettu myös FSD3324 Festivaalibarometri 2014-2016. Aineistojen tietoja voi yhdistää havaintotunnuksen (fsd_id) avulla. Taustamuuttujina ovat syntymävuosi, sukupuoli, suurimmat kaupungit, muut kunnat maakunnittain, koulutus, ammattiryhmä, yhteiskuntaluokka ja vuositulot.",
"en": "The festival barometer aims to collect information on Finnish festival visitors and the changes that occur in their taste in music and festivals over the years. This dataset consists of the responses to the 2018 survey (5,801) as well as the responses from each collection round (2014/2016 and 2018) for those participants who had responded to more than one survey (715). In 2014, the TATU2 project by the Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences and the JOHDE II project by the Turku School of Economics and the University of the Arts Helsinki were involved in conducting the barometer. In 2016 and 2018, the barometer was conducted together with the Seinäjoki Unit of the Sibelius Academy (a unit of the University of the Arts Helsinki). First, the respondents were asked which Finnish festivals they had visited during the past few years and how interesting they thought various Finnish festivals were. Opinions on the general quality of various aspects of the biggest Finnish festivals, such as the performers, food and drink services, security, and marketing, were charted. Next, the respondents were asked what would get them to attend festivals more often (e.g. if the performers were more interesting, tickets were cheaper, travelling to the festival was easier, cheaper or faster, or more information was available on the festivals). Some questions focused on the significance of several aspects for achieving a successful festival experience, for example, positive surprises in performances, diverse food and drink services, clean bathrooms, and the values represented by the festival. The respondents' opinions on how much festival products and services should cost were surveyed next. The products and services surveyed included, for instance, a three-day admission ticket to a festival with domestic performers, a quality portion of food served in the festival area, and a glass of beer or cider served in the festival area. The respondents were also asked how likely it was that they would visit a festival in the next year, five years, or ten years. The respondents' taste in music (e.g. how interesting they found pop, rock, punk or jazz music) as well as their relationship with music (e.g. whether music was one of the most important things in their life and whether they actively recommended artists, songs or albums to their friends) were examined. Finally, the respondents were asked how important several values were for them personally (e.g. power, pleasure, benevolence and tradition). This dataset can be connected to dataset FSD3324 Festival Barometer 2014-2016 by using the fsd_id variable. Background variables included the respondent's year of birth, gender, municipality of residence (categorised into largest cities or NUTS3 regions), highest level of education, occupational status, subjective social class and gross annual income."

It is taken for granted that history follows the arrow of time, thus is written after things have happened. But narratives create ruptures, changing the future of the past. Therefore, instead of looking at photography from the present backwards, what if we look from the future instead? What would that tell us about the present? Science fiction as a literary genre forces a reconceptualisation of the practice of knowledge. This article takes place in the future."

Weekly snow pit measurements — including stratigraphy, temperature, and density — were conducted at four locations over an eight-week period from March to May in 2023 to assess landscape-scale variability. The four sites are: Lichen Fence (N67.367100 E26.634740), Forest near the Airport - shortly called Airport (N67.384250, E26.625290), Intensive Observation Area (IOA) (N67.36179, E26.63378) and Sounding Station (N67.366890 E26.629890)."

"en": "The survey charted the use of digital devices, social media, and online services in Finland. Main themes of the survey also included societal values, civic participation, social relationships, and well-being. Media use was investigated with questions on how often the respondents did certain things (e.g. use the internet, listen to radio programs or podcasts, write on discussion boards, use instant messaging applications). The respondents were also asked whether they used certain digital devices and services (e.g. smart phone, computer, broadband internet, smart watch) and how important these were for their everyday lives. The role of the internet in the respondents' everyday lives was explored by asking how important the internet was for them in terms of banking, booking doctor's appointments, purchasing products and services, and keeping in touch with others. The respondents' digital skills were charted by asking them, for example, whether they knew how to download and save files from the internet or clear their browser history. Additionally, views on the trustworthiness of internet sources and the ease of finding reliable information online were surveyed. The respondents were asked about the purposes for which they used social media, whether they knew what kind of information was appropriate to share on social media, and their membership in social media communities. Additionally, the respondents' use of different social media platforms and compulsive social media use were charted. Attitudes towards social media were examined with questions on, for example, whether the respondents were concerned about hate speech or fake news on social media, how they engaged with opinions that differed from their own on social media, and whether social media had made them feel pressure over their appearance. Civic participation was charted by asking the respondents whether in the last five years they had, for example, voted in parliamentary elections, taken part in a demonstration, donated money to charity or volunteered. Political party affiliation and the respondents' alignment on left-right and liberal-conservative political spectrums were also surveyed. Additionally, the respondents' views on various questions (e.g. the right to abortion, same-sex marriage, cuts to social security, dismantling the welfare state) and their trust in institutions (e.g. the government, the judicial system, politicians, the European parliament, news outlets) were investigated. The respondents' social relationships were examined with questions on how many friends they had on social media, how much they used social media to keep in touch with friends, how often they felt lonely, and how often they used social media to alleviate feelings of loneliness. Experiences of online harassment and bullying were also charted. The respondents were asked about their satisfaction with their body and appearance, and well-being was surveyed with statements on, for example, health, self-confidence, future expectations, and overall life satisfaction. Background information included the respondent's gender, year of birth, NUTS2 and NUTS3 regions of residence, marital status, household characteristics, level of education, occupation, sector of employment, and monthly household gross income.",
