Given a query sequence (nucleotide or protein), BLAST compares it to a sequence database and picks out sequences with significant similarity to the probe sequence. BLAST uses a heuristic search protocol, which makes search very fast compared to non-heuristic methods. The test sites are lecture hall 101 at the Aalto University Department of Machine Engineering in Espoo, Finland, and the Tetra Conference Hall at the Hanaholmen Swedish-Finnish Cultural Centre in Espoo, Finland.\r\n\r\nThe data are divided into four sets - one room geometry with the furniture removed and one detailed segment for both test sites - with four registered point clouds and three registered meshes being provided for each, as well as the reference. The point clouds stem from data obtained with each of the three sensor systems and processed with Matterport's processing system, with the Leica BLK360 data also being processed with Leica's proprietary processing system for a fourth point cloud. For the meshes, the Matterport processing system has been used to produce one mesh from each sensor system."

Aluksi vastaajilta kysyttiin, kuinka huolestuneita he ovat ilmastonmuutoksesta sekä mitkä tekijät ovat vaikuttaneet heidän huoleensa. Tämän jälkeen kartoitettiin mielipiteitä useista ilmastonmuutoksen hillintään liittyvistä väittämistä. Vastaajilta tiedusteltiin myös, mitä toimia he ovat tehneet ilmastonmuutoksen torjumiseksi viimeisten 24 kuukauden aikana. Lisäksi selvitettiin näkemyksiä tieteen asemasta sekä sen mahdollisista riskeistä ja uhista. Seuraavaksi vastaajat kertoivat, kuinka usein he seuraavat ilmastonmuutokseen liittyviä uutisia eri lähteistä, käyttävät sosiaalista mediaa yhteiskunnallisiin tarkoituksiin ja keskustelevat poliittisista sekä yhteiskunnallisista asioista eri tahojen kanssa. Tämän lisäksi vastaajilta kysyttiin puoluekannatusta sekä omaa sijoittumista poliittisella arvokartalla. Vastaajilta tiedusteltiin myös, millaisia poliittisen osallistumisen muotoja he ovat harjoittaneet viimeisen viiden vuoden aikana. Lopuksi vastaajat arvioivat erilaisia väittämiä Suomen tulevaisuuden suunnasta. Taustamuuttujina ovat muun muassa vastaajan sukupuoli, ikä, maakunta, asuinalueen tyyppi, päätoimi, ammattiryhmä, korkein suoritettu koulutus, äidinkieli, siviilisääty, kotitalouden yhteenlasketut vuositulot ja kotitalouden henkilömäärä.",
"en": "The survey explores Finnish citizens' climate attitudes, climate-related concerns and knowledge, as well as their societal engagement. At the beginning of the survey, respondents were asked how concerned they are about climate change and what factors have influenced their concern. This was followed by a series of statements regarding climate change mitigation, to which respondents expressed their opinions. They were also asked what actions they had taken to address climate change during the past 24 months. In addition, the survey explored views on the role of science. Next, respondents reported how frequently they follow climate-related news, use social media for societal purposes, and discuss political and societal issues. They were also asked about their political party preference and self-placement on a political value scale. Furthermore, the survey explored the forms of political participation respondents had engaged in over the past five years. Finally, respondents evaluated a series of statements regarding the future direction of Finland. Background variables include, among others, the respondent's gender, age, region of residence, economic activity, occupational status, level of education, mother tongue, marital status, total annual household income, and household size."

Lopuksi kysyttiin vastaajien näkemyksiä siitä, miten ruotsinkielinen koulutus ja kulttuuritapahtumat vertautuvat suomenkieliseen koulutukseen ja kulttuuritapahtumiin. Taustamuuttujia aineistossa ovat sukupuoli, koulutustaso, tilastollinen kuntaryhmitys, ikäryhmä, äidinkieli ja maakunta.",

Kyselyn keskeisiä teemoja ovat koulutukseen hakeutuminen, kokemukset opiskelusta ja opetuksesta, opintojen edistyminen ja kiinnittyminen opintoihin, opiskelijoiden työssäkäynti, asuminen ja toimeentulo, näkemykset työelämästä ja tulevaisuudesta sekä opiskelijoiden hyvinvointi ja vapaa-aika. Kyselyaineiston toteutuksesta ovat vastanneet Opiskelun ja koulutuksen tutkimussäätiö (OTUS) yhteistyössä Suomen Ammattiin Opiskelevien Liitto SAKKI ry:n kanssa. Tutkimusta on rahoittanut SAKKI ry, joka sai rahoituksen Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriöltä. Aluksi kyselyssä tiedusteltiin vastaajien nykyisistä opinnoista kysymällä opiskellusta tutkintotyypistä, alasta ja siitä, miten he rahoittavat opintonsa. Seuraavaksi kartoitettiin koulutukseen hakeutumista. Vastaajilta kysyttiin muun muassa perheen kannustuksesta hakea ammatillisen koulutuksen ja syitä, miksi olivat hakeutuneet nykyiselle koulutusalalleen. Esillä olivat myös nykyisiä opintoja edeltävä elämänvaihe sekä opintomenestys aiemmissa opinnoissa. Seuraavaksi vastaajilta kysyttiin opiskeluun käytetystä ajasta ja nykyisten opintojen eri osa-alueiden, kuten lähiopetuksen, etäopetuksen ja työssäoppimisen määrästä opinnoissa. Opiskelijoilta kysyttiin lisäksi opintojen haastavuudesta, oppilaitoksesta saadusta opetuksesta ja ohjauksesta sekä yleisiä kokemuksia oppilaitokseen liittyen. Tutkittaville esitettiin myös henkilökohtaisen osaamisen kehittämissuunnitelmaa sekä työpaikalla tapahtuvaa oppimista koskevia väittämiä. Edelleen kysyttiin opintojen edistymisestä sekä opintoja hidastavista tekijöistä ja syitä opintojen keskeyttämisen harkitsemiseen. Lisäksi vastaajilta kysyttiin työssä käymisestä opintojen aikana, asumismuodosta ja taloudellisesta tilanteesta. Työelämää ja tulevaisuudenodotuksia tiedusteltiin kysymällä näkemyksiä valmistumisen jälkeisestä ajasta sekä työelämään siirtymisestä. Vastaajat myös arvioivat oman osaamisensa riittävyyttä työelämässä ja omia uratoiveita. Lisäksi kysyttiin, aikomuksista jatkaa opiskelua nykyisten opintojen jälkeen. Vapaa-aikaan ja hyvinvointiin liittyen kysyttiin vastaajien kaveri- ja lähipiiristä, kokemuksista kiusatuksi tulemisesta ja seksuaalisesta häirinnästä, tyytyväisyyden tunteesta sekä internetin ja sosiaalisen median käytöstä. Taustamuuttujina ovat muun muassa oppilaitoksen kuntatyyppi, maakunta ja AVI-alue sekä vastaajan koulutusala, ikäluokka, sukupuoli, äidinkieli, asumisaika Suomessa ja vanhempien työllisyystilanne ja koulutustausta.",
"en": "The Vocational School Student Survey (VET Student Survey) 2022 is a total study charting experiences of young people studying in Finnish vocational education institutions. The survey was conducted by the Research Foundation for Studies and Education (Otus) in collaboration with the National Union of Vocational Students in Finland (SAKKI), which also funded the study with funding received from the Ministry of Education and Culture. Main themes of the survey included applying for studies, experiences relating to studies and teaching, financial circumstances, plans for the future and working life, and wellbeing and leisure time. First, the respondents were asked about their studies at present with questions concerning, for instance, their field of education and how they financed their living costs during studies. Questions also surveyed how the respondents had entered their studies and whether they had began their studies straight away in the autumn after completing comprehensive school. The respondents' decision to apply for vocational studies was further examined with questions regarding, for instance, whether vocational studies had been discussed or recommended in their families or at school, and how clear the decision to opt for vocational studies had been. The respondents were also asked how they had performed in earlier education. The respondents' experiences of studies and teaching were examined with questions about the time spent on studies in a week, form and sufficiency of the teaching and guidance received, balancing and managing studies, and the atmosphere of their school and study community. Further questions focused on the respondents' opinions on the personalisation of studies and competence-based studying, including, for instance, whether they thought they were able to influence what and how they studied and whether their career plans had been taken into account in their study plan. Opinions were also charted regarding on-the-job learning. Possible learning difficulties and support received for these difficulties were surveyed next. With regard to study progress, satisfaction with studies and the institution itself was charted as well as feelings of studying the right field, prospects of graduating and things slowing down study progress. Working, housing and financial circumstances were investigated by asking about working during studies and in the summer, housing during the semesters, financial help from parents and relatives, and sufficiency of money for expenses. Concerning occupational life, opinions were probed on a number of statements about employment as well as employment prospects after graduation, and views on the importance of various things for a successful career. Future plans to study were surveyed. Well-being and leisure time were examined with questions about friends, social relationships, bullying and discrimination, sleep, hobbies, and Internet and social media use. Background variables included the respondent's age, gender, and mother tongue. The time the respondent had lived in Finland was further charted, along with languages spoken with parents, and parents' employment status and education level."

Kyselyn keskeisiä teemoja ovat koulutukseen hakeutuminen, kokemukset opiskelusta ja opetuksesta, opintojen edistyminen ja kiinnittyminen opintoihin, opiskelijoiden työssäkäynti, asuminen ja toimeentulo, näkemykset työelämästä ja tulevaisuudesta sekä opiskelijoiden hyvinvointi ja vapaa-aika. Kyselyaineiston toteutuksesta ovat vastanneet Opiskelun ja koulutuksen tutkimussäätiö (OTUS) yhteistyössä Suomen Ammattiin Opiskelevien Liitto SAKKI ry:n kanssa. Tutkimusta on rahoittanut SAKKI ry, joka sai rahoituksen Opetus- ja kulttuuriministeriöltä. Aluksi kyselyssä tiedusteltiin vastaajien nykyisistä opinnoista kysymällä opiskellusta tutkintotyypistä ja alasta. Seuraavaksi kartoitettiin koulutukseen hakeutumista. Vastaajilta kysyttiin muun muassa syitä, miksi olivat hakeutuneet nykyiselle koulutusalalleen. Esillä olivat myös nykyisiä opintoja edeltävä elämänvaihe sekä opintomenestys aiemmissa opinnoissa. Seuraavaksi vastaajilta kysyttiin kokemuksia opiskeluun liittyen. Kysyttiin muun muassa opiskeluun käytetystä ajasta ja nykyisten opintojen eri osa-alueiden, kuten lähiopetuksen, etäopetuksen ja työssäoppimisen määrästä opinnoissa. Opiskelijoilta kysyttiin lisäksi opintojen haastavuudesta, oppilaitoksesta saadusta opetuksesta ja ohjauksesta sekä yleisiä kokemuksia oppilaitokseen liittyen. Tutkittaville esitettiin myös henkilökohtaisen osaamisen kehittämissuunnitelmaa koskevia väittämiä. Lisäksi tiedusteltiin näkemyksiä opiskelutiloista ja oppimateriaaleista. Tämän jälkeen esitettiin työpaikalla tapahtuvaa oppimista koskevia väittämiä sekä kysyttiin opintojen edistymisestä sekä opintoja hidastavista tekijöistä ja syitä opintojen keskeyttämisen harkitsemiseen. Seuraavaksi vastaajilta kysyttiin työssä käymisestä opintojen aikana, taloudellisesta tilanteesta ja asumismuodosta. Vapaa-aikaan ja hyvinvointiin liittyen kysyttiin vastaajien terveydentilasta, kaveri- ja lähipiiristä, kokemuksista kiusatuksi tulemisesta ja seksuaalisesta häirinnästä. Työelämää ja tulevaisuudenodotuksia tiedusteltiin kysymällä näkemyksiä valmistumisen jälkeisestä ajasta sekä työelämään siirtymisestä. Vastaajat myös arvioivat omia uratoiveita. Lisäksi kysyttiin, aikomuksista jatkaa opiskelua nykyisten opintojen jälkeen. Taustamuuttujina ovat muun muassa oppilaitoksen kuntatyyppi, maakunta ja AVI-alue sekä vastaajan koulutusala, ikäluokka, sukupuoli, äidinkieli ja vanhempien työllisyystilanne ja koulutustausta.",
"en": "The Vocational School Student Survey (VET Student Survey) 2024 is a total study charting experiences of young people studying in Finnish vocational education institutions. The survey was conducted by the Research Foundation for Studies and Education (Otus) in collaboration with the National Union of Vocational Students in Finland (SAKKI), which also funded the study with funding received from the Ministry of Education and Culture. Main themes of the survey included applying for studies, experiences relating to studies and teaching, financial circumstances, plans for the future and working life, and wellbeing and leisure time. First, the respondents were asked about their studies at present with questions concerning, for instance, their field of education. Questions also surveyed how the respondents had entered their studies and also the respondents' decision to apply for vocational studies was examined. The respondents were also asked how they had performed in earlier education. Next, respondents were asked about their experiences of studying. Among other things, they were asked about the time spent studying and the amount of different aspects of their current studies, such as face-to-face teaching, distance learning and on-the-job learning. Students were also asked about the challenges of studying, the teaching and guidance they received from the institution and their general experiences of the institution. In addition, respondents were asked questions about their personal competence development plan and views on study facilities and learning materials. This was followed by statements about on-the-job learning and questions about progress and obstacles to studies and reasons for considering dropping out of studies. Next, respondents were asked about their employment during their studies, their financial situation and their living arrangements. In terms of leisure and well-being, respondents were asked about their health, friends and family, experiences of being bullied and sexual harassment. As regards to working life and future expectations, the survey asked about views on the time after graduation and the transition to working life. Respondents also assessed their own career aspirations. They were also asked about their intentions to continue studying after their current studies. Background variables included the respondent's field of study, age, gender, mother tongue, as well as, parents' employment status and education level."

Aineisto on kerätty osana Suomenruotsalaista barometriä (Barometern), joka kuuluu kansalliseen yleisen mielipiteen mittaamisen infrastruktuuriin (The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion, FIRIPO). Aluksi vastaajilta tiedusteltiin kuinka huolissaan he ovat omasta ja läheistensä terveydestä COVID-19-taudin vuoksi. Tämän jälkeen kysyttiin mielipiteitä ja pyydettiin arvioimaan Suomen hallituksen sekä muiden yhteiskunnan instituutioiden toimenpiteitä koronavirustaudin leviämisen ehkäisemiseksi sekä sitä, miten hyvin eri toimijat ovat vastaajien mielestä onnistuneet. Toimenpiteisiin liittyen kysyttiin myös mitä hallituksen suosituksia on itse noudattanut tai toteuttanut. Edelleen kysyttiin, miten koronaviruspandemia on vaikuttanut elämään sekä kuinka usein on matkustanut joko ulkomaille tai Suomessa. Lopuksi kysyttiin vielä vastaajien ajatuksia ja mielipiteitä kuntavaalien siirtämiseen, koronavirusrokotteisiin sekä yhteiskunnan avautumiseen liittyen. Taustamuuttujina ovat sukupuoli, äidinkieli, koulutustaso, ammattiasema, asuinalue maakuntatasolla ja ikä.",
"en": "The questionnaire surveyed the attitudes and opinions of Swedish-speaking Finns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. The survey is a continuation of the earlier Barometer for Swedish-speaking Finns B2/2020. The data was collected as part of the Citizen Panel of Swedish-speaking Finns (Barometern), which is part of The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion (FIRIPO). First, respondents were asked how worried they were about their own health and the health of their loved ones because of COVID-19. They were then asked to rate the measures taken by the Finnish government and other institutions in society to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease and how well the different actors have succeeded in doing so. In relation to these measures, respondents were also asked which government recommendations they had followed or implemented. They were also asked how the coronavirus pandemic has affected their lives and how often they have travelled either abroad or in Finland. Finally, respondents were asked about their thoughts and opinions on the postponement of municipal elections, the COVID-19 vaccines and the opening up of society. Background variables included the respondent's NUTS3 region of residence, gender, mother tongue, level of education, occupational status and age."

"fi": "Tutkimuksessa kartoitettiin suomenruotsalaisten asenteita ja mielipiteitä kuntavaaleihin ja laajemmin kansanäänestyksiin liittyen. Aineisto on kerätty osana Suomenruotsalaista barometriä (Barometern), joka kuuluu kansalliseen yleisen mielipiteen mittaamisen infrastruktuuriin (The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion, FIRIPO). Aluksi tiedusteltiin, miten tärkeänä vastaajat näkevät tietyt yhteiskunnan aihealueet suomenruotsalaisen väestön näkökulmasta. Tämän jälkeen kysyttiin äänestikö vuoden 2017 kuntavaaleissa ja aikooko äänestää vuoden 2021 kuntavaaleissa. Lisäksi kysyttiin syitä äänestämättä jättämiselle sekä tiedusteltiin, mitä puoluetta äänestäisi ja kokeeko vastaaja puolueen vai ehdokkaan tärkeämmäksi. Edelleen kysyttiin kuinka kiinnostunut on paikallispolitiikasta sekä yleisesti suhtautumisesta kansanäänestyksiin. Lopuksi esitettiin vielä kysymykset liittyen äänestysaktiivisuuteen sekä yksittäisen ehdokkaan osuuteen äänistä. Taustamuuttujina ovat asuinalue maakuntatasolla, koulutustaso, ikä ja sukupuoli.",
"en": "The survey explored the attitudes and opinions of Swedish-speaking Finns in relation to the municipal elections and more broadly to referendums. The data was collected as part of the Citizen Panel of Swedish-speaking Finns (Barometern), which is part of The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion (FIRIPO). First, respondents were asked how important they consider certain social issues to be from the perspective of Swedish-speaking Finns. They were then asked whether they had voted in the 2017 municipal elections and whether they intended to vote in the 2021 municipal elections. In addition, reasons for not voting were asked, as well as which party the respondent would vote for and whether the party or the candidate was more important. Further questions were asked about interest in local politics and general attitudes to referendums. Finally, questions were asked about voting activity and the share of votes cast for individual candidates. Background variables included the respondent's NUTS3 region of residence, level of education, age and gender."

The survey also included questions on media consumption, identity, party affiliations, social trust, future prospects, health and well-being. "fi": "Tutkimuksessa kartoitettiin suomenruotsalaisten identiteettiä ja mielipiteitä liittyen politiikkaan ja yhteiskuntaan. Kyselylomakkeeseen sisältyi kysymyksiä lisäksi esimerkiksi puoluesympatioista, vaalikäyttäytymisestä, yhteiskunnallisesta luottamuksesta, tulevaisuudennäkymistä, terveydestä ja hyvinvoinnista. Aineisto on kerätty osana Suomenruotsalaista barometriä (Barometern), joka kuuluu kansalliseen yleisen mielipiteen mittaamisen infrastruktuuriin (The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion, FIRIPO). Aineisto on erityisen kattava, ja se on osa toista suurta Barometri-tutkimusta, joka toteutetaan joka toinen vuosi. Ensimmäinen suuri Barometri-tutkimus (B1) tehtiin vuonna 2019. Aluksi vastaajilta tiedusteltiin heidän identiteetistä, minkä jälkeen siirryttiin esittämään kysymyksiä liittyen politiikkaan. Vastaajilta kysyttiin esimerkiksi, kuinka tyytyväisiä he ovat demokratian toimintaan. Tämän jälkeen vastaajien tuli asettaa itsensä oikeisto-vasemmisto-akselille poliittisten mielipiteidensä perusteella. Edelleen tiedusteltiin eduskuntavaaleista ja äänestyskäyttäytymisestä. Kysyttiin, mitä puoluetta he yleensä äänestävät, ja mitkä kysymykset ovat merkittäviä puoluetta valittaessa. Kysyttiin myös, mitä mieltä vastaajat ovat muista poliittisista puolueista. Edelleen kysyttiin Suomen aluevaaleista 2022 ja niissä äänestämisestä. Seuraavaksi vastaajilta tiedusteltiin luottamuksesta tutkimustuloksiin, poliitikkoihin ja erilaisiin instituutioihin. Lisäksi tiedusteltiin näkemyksiä korruption suuruudesta. Tämän jälkeen kysyttiin vastaajien mielipiteitä erilaisista ajankohtaisista poliittisista aiheista. Lopuksi kysyttiin mielipiteitä yhteiskunnallisten aiheiden ja yhteiskunnan tulevaisuudennäkymistä, omasta terveydentilasta sekä elämään tyytyväisyydestä. Taustamuuttujina ovat asuinalue maakuntatasolla, äidinkieli, sukupuoli, syntymävuosi, ikä, koulutusaste, uskontokunta, puoluekanta, yhteiskuntaluokka, ammattiasema ja siviilisääty.",
"en": "The survey charted the identity of Swedish-speaking Finns and their opinions on politics and society. The survey also included questions on party affiliations, electoral behaviour, social trust, future prospects, health and well-being. The data was collected as part of the Citizen Panel of Swedish-speaking Finns (Barometern), which is part of The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion (FIRIPO). The data is particularly comprehensive and is part of the second major Barometer survey, which is carried out every two years. The first major Barometer survey (B1) was conducted in 2019. Respondents were first asked about their identity, before moving on to ask questions related to politics. For example, respondents were asked how satisfied they were with the way democracy works. Respondents were then asked to place themselves on a right-left spectrum based on their political opinions. Further questions were asked about parliamentary elections and voting behaviour. They were asked which party they usually vote for and which issues are important when deciding which party to vote for. Respondents were also asked what they thought about other political parties. They were also asked about the 2022 Finnish county elections and about voting in them. Next, respondents were asked about their trust in research results, politicians and institutions. They were also asked about their views on the extent of corruption. Respondents were then asked about their opinions on various current political issues. Finally, respondents were asked about their views on the future prospects of social issues and society, their own health and their satisfaction with life. Background variables included the respondent's NUTS3 region of residence, mother tongue, gender, year of birth, age, highest level of education, religious affiliation, political party preference, social class, occupational status and marital status."
