Kysely kartoitti tietämystä lasten oikeuksista ja ihmisoikeuksista yleisesti, yläkouluikäisten osallisuutta arkipäivän päätöksenteossa, oppilaiden mielipiteitä mediasta, informaatiosta ja osallisuudesta sekä lasten ja nuorten vaikutuskanavien ja -keinojen käyttöä. Tutkimus on osa UNICEFin yhteispohjoismaista lasten ihmisoikeustietämyksen ja osallistumisen tutkimusta, joka pyrki kehittämään lapsen osallisuutta omassa arjessaan. Tämä aineisto sisältää suomalaisten oppilaiden vastaukset. Kaikkien Pohjoismaiden vastaajat sisältävä aineisto on myös arkistoitu Yhteiskuntatieteelliseen tietoarkistoon (ks. FSD2547 Lasten ihmisoikeustietämys ja osallistuminen 2009-2010: Pohjoismaat). Aluksi vastaajilta tiedusteltiin ikää ja sukupuolta ja vanhempien koulutustaustaa. Vastaajan ja vanhempien sukujuuria selvitettiin kyselemällä, olivatko vastaaja ja tämän vanhemmat syntyneet Suomessa vai ulkomailla. Seuraavaksi selvitettiin vastaajan käsitystä lasten oikeuksista. Vastaajilta tiedusteltiin, kuinka paljon he tiesivät lasten oikeuksista, missä he olivat kuulleet niistä ja keitä oikeudet heidän mielestään koskivat. Vastaajille esitettiin erilaisia väittämiä ihmisoikeuksista, joiden kanssa he olivat samaa tai eri mieltä viisiportaisella asteikolla. Osallisuutta arkipäivän päätöksenteossa kartoitettiin kyselemällä kuinka paljon vastaajat kykenivät vaikuttamaan erilaisiin kotia, koulua ja vapaa-aikaa koskeviin asioihin, ja kuinka tärkeinä he näitä asioita pitivät. Lisäksi vastaajat kirjasivat kolme tärkeintä asiaa, joissa nuoria tulisi vastaajan mielestä kuulla. Samoin he kirjasivat kolme tärkeintä asiaa, jotka tulisi tehdä ilmastonmuutoksen torjumiseksi ja luonnonsuojelemiseksi. Vastaajien osallistumista kartoitettiin lisäksi kyselemällä, olivatko he olleet mukana esimerkiksi nuorisovaltuustoissa, järjestötoiminnassa tai poliittisissa puolueissa. Lopuksi kysyttiin lasten ja nuorten vaikutuskanavista ja keinoista. Vastaajat ottivat kantaa erilaisten vaikutuskeinojen ja -kanavien kuten oppilaskunnan, mielenosoitusten, blogien ja järjestöjen tärkeyteen ja toimivuuteen. Lisäksi vastaajat arvioivat elämänlaatuaan kymmenportaisella asteikolla ja ottivat kantaa siihen, ajattelivatko he vaikuttamisesta eri tavalla vastattuaan kyselyyn. Taustamuuttujina olivat mm. ikä, sukupuoli ja vanhempien koulutustausta.",
"en": "This survey constituted the Finnish part of the Nordic Study on Child Rights to Participate 2009-2010, conducted by UNICEF. The integrated data from all Nordic countries are also archived at the FSD (see FSD2547). The Finnish survey had 1,044 respondents. The main aim of the study was to investigate to what extent children and young people can influence matters at home, school and in society and what issues they would like to have influence on. Other main themes included how much children and young people know about children's rights and human rights in general. Knowledge of child and human rights were charted by asking the respondents how much they knew about the rights of the child, where they had got the information from, and whom do the rights concern. The respondents were also asked to what extent they agreed with statements relating to human rights issues, for instance, to corporal punishment of children, whether all people have the same rights regardless of their religion, whether boys and girls have the same rights etc. One topic pertained to what extent the respondents were able influence matters at home, school and spare time and how important they considered it to be to be able to influence these matters, including use of own money, bed times, interior and decor of their own room, where to live if parents divorced, hobbies, decision which school to go to, what one learns at school, school menu, facilities in the municipality, the family's water and electricity consumption etc. Next, the respondents were asked whether they agreed with statements relating to the media, decision making at school, voting age, and climate change. In addition, they were asked to name the three most important issues they would like to have influence on and the three most important things that can be done to combat climate change. The respondents were asked whether they had participated in the school council or other school bodies, other school activities (e.g. as peer mediators/tutors), local or youth council or political party activities. Opinions were charted on the importance of different channels or methods of participation and how well these had worked in their own case. Channels/methods mentioned included petitions, demonstrations, different kinds of youth bodies, online blog postings etc. The respondents also evaluated the quality of their life on a 10-point scale. Background information included the respondent's age, gender, R's and parents' country of birth and whether the parents had university education or not."

The sample consists of three constructed weeks per year, resulting in a total of nine constructed weeks for the study period (2019-2021). Articles related to forests, wood, or the bioeconomy were manually selected for analysis. Search terms included the Finnish translations of ‘wood’, ‘forest’, and ‘bioeconomy’, including their inflected forms. Articles were collected from the online archives of both newspapers. The full sample consists of 63 HS issues (95 articles) and 27 MT issues (188 articles), resulting in a total of 90 issues (283 articles) covering the study period. The list of articles is available in Näyhä, A., & Wallius, V. (2024). "en": "The transdisciplinary BuSuT project studies the mechanisms of future-oriented value co-creation through multiple societal levels, actors, and disciplines based on extensive data from the Finnish forest-based sector. In addition to its theoretical contribution to sustainability-oriented business models and value creation, foresight, and transition studies, the project can facilitate transition management among diverse actors and organizations. A transition framework is the ultimate outcome of the project. The main goal of the first sub-study (WP1) of the project was to gain a better understanding of the societal system in which forest-related actors are embedded and to identify key actors, their discourses, and their mutual relations based on policy documents and Finnish print media discussions concerning forests, their utilization, and related future visions. The data consisted of 10 forest-focused and forest-related policy documents and 283 newspaper articles collected from the Finnish newspapers Helsingin Sanomat and Maaseudun Tulevaisuus. The main goal of the second sub-study (WP2) was to study value co-creation, participatory foresight, and related mechanisms and practices among forest-related stakeholders. A total of 70 individual, semi-structured interviews with forest-related actors comprised the data for this study. The main goal of the third sub-study (WP3) was to study participants’ future visions for forests, their utilization, and the future of the forest-based sector, as well as the pathways and strategies through which these visions could be achieved. The data were gathered through a series of participatory workshops applying a backcasting approach. Three workshop groups were organized face-to-face, and two workshops were organized online. The workshop groups comprised a total of 28 forest-related stakeholders."

"en": "This dataset contains the observations of the Sun made with various radio-frequency instruments at the Aalto University Metsähovi Radio Observatory since 1978. The dataset is growing when new observations are added every month. The data are mostly raw data or output from the various measurement systems; calibration is left for the user. However, ready plots are available for most of the astronomically interesting observations.\n\nThis dataset contains:\n(i)\ttotal intensity maps of the solar disk measured with the 14-metre radio telescope at 37 GHz since 1978 (data from years 1978-1987 are digitized from contour plot printouts and converted to match the modern data format),\n(ii)\ttotal intensity of the Sun at 11.2 GHz, measured continuously with a 1.8-metre radio telescope since 2001,\n(iii)\tother data such as total irradiance / pyrheliometer data, telescope pointing data, weather parameters, and other auxiliary information."

"en": "Cold-region unpaved road subgrades progressively lose strength with repeated freeze-thaw cycles, and conventional cement-based stabilization imposes a disproportionate environmental burden. This study develops an integrated life cycle sustainability assessment (LCSA) and multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) framework to compare four subgrade stabilization systems applied to a 1 km two-lane unpaved road in Prince George, British Columbia: ordinary Portland cement (OPC) with a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) liner (stabilization alternative S1); hydrated lime with a geocomposite liner (S2); a coal fly ash-slag geopolymer with a waste expanded polystyrene (EPS)-derived liner (S3a); and a novel pulp-mill fly ash-slag bio-geopolymer in which a rice-husk-ash-derived bio-silicate replaces commercial sodium silicate, paired with a bio-solvent-processed circular liner (S3b). Environmental performance was assessed using TRACI 2.1 and ReCiPe 2016 Endpoint (Hierarchist cultural perspective, H); economic performance through life-cycle cost analysis integrating direct and monetized external costs; and social performance through 10 indicators across three stakeholder groups. Pillar scores were integrated using hybrid AHP-CRITIC-Entropy weighting (α = 0.648, β = 0.230, γ = 0.122; CR = 0.003) and dual TOPSIS-VIKOR ranking validated across five sensitivity scenarios. The novel pulp-mill fly ash-slag bio-geopolymer system (S3b) ranked first under both TOPSIS (Cᵢ = 0.956) and VIKOR (Qᵢ = 0.000) across all scenarios, achieving a 44.6% reduction in global warming potential relative to S3a (165,632 versus 300,525 kg CO₂-eq) and a 63% reduction in metal resource scarcity external costs (CAD 315,888 versus CAD 864,046). The OPC-HDPE liner system (S1) ranked last despite the lowest internal cost (CAD 169,142), penalized by high endpoint human health damage and poor social performance. The results support prioritizing bio-geopolymer and bio-solvent-processed circular liner systems for sustainable cold-region unpaved road infrastructure."

"en": "The most commonly reported microstructural measure in literature is the average grain size. In addition to measurement of average grain size, other material specific factors such as differences in phase structure and grain size distribution need to be considered. For heterogeneous materials such as welded low-alloy steel joints, the grain size distribution is of particular interest since it has been shown to influence the mechanical properties. Improved grain size measurement methods are thus required to enhance the understanding between grain size distribution and mechanical properties.\r\n\r\nThese codes are an implementation of the line- and point-sampled linear intercept length methods published in Refs. [1-2], utilising the functionalities of Matlab image processing toolbox. The separate codes are provided: the line-sampled intercept length measures the average grain size (d), and the relative grain size dispersion (Delta d/d). The line-sampled procedure is based on the ASTM E1382 standard. In addition, the point-sampled linear-intercept length method measures the volume-weighted average grain size, which is more relevant for mechanical properties than the average grain size for microstructures with a broad grain size dispersion. \r\n\r\nThe point-sampled code is partially obsolete, and has been superseeded by a newer version also capable of measuring spatial grain size variation, available at: https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.5180743. For more details, refer to the two publications [1-2], and WIKI page [3] given below.\r\n\r\nInstallation\r\n\r\nOpen linesampled_intercept_length_v1b.m or pointsampled_intercept_length_v1b.mPre-process the grain boundary maps according to the instructions on in Ref. [3]. Two example grain boundary maps are provided, one extracted from HKL Channel 5 software, the other post-processed from an optical micrograph. Note that grain boundaries must have a thickness larger than 1 pixel, otherwise measurements will bleed through gaps in the boundaries.Check the parameters set at sections 'Input data', 'Output settings' and 'Linear intercept parameters'. "en": "Math anxiety is widely recognized as a barrier to mathematical learning; however, its causal relationship with performance remains a topic of debate. The present study examined whether math anxiety predicts poor arithmetic fluency or vice versa by applying both a traditional Cross-Lagged Panel Model (CLPM) and a Random-Intercept Cross-Lagged Panel Model (RI-CLPM) to longitudinal data from 866 students in grades 4–6 across six measurement points. The CLPM revealed a reciprocal relationship between math anxiety and arithmetic fluency, suggesting that the two influence each other over time. In contrast, the RI-CLPM indicated a unidirectional effect, where math anxiety predicted subsequent declines in arithmetic fluency, supporting the debilitating hypothesis. Although both models fit the data, the RI-CLPM demonstrated superior fit indices. When stable between-person differences are accounted for, the model reveals that within-person increases in math anxiety predict subsequent declines in arithmetic fluency, supporting the debilitating hypothesis. These findings highlight the importance of model selection in developmental research and underscore the role of math anxiety as a critical target for early interventions aimed at improving mathematical outcomes."

"en": "The survey examines the views of individuals working in tasks related to green infrastructure regarding urban grasslands as part of the green infrastructure of cities and municipalities. The survey was collected as part of a doctoral dissertation conducted at the University of Helsinki, the aim of which is to promote biodiversity in urban environments. First, respondents were asked how their current or previous job description is related to green infrastructure and how they found out about the survey. Next, respondents were asked about their views on the benefits that urban grasslands provide as part of green infrastructure. After this, the survey used a series of statements to examine respondents' views on the aesthetic, social, and ecological characteristics of urban grasslands. The statements concerned, among other things, requirements for a tidy appearance of urban grasslands, pollinator-friendly vegetation, species diversity, and the use of grasslands for leisure and as meeting places. Subsequently, respondents were asked to propose ways to promote biodiversity in urban grasslands and to consider the challenges associated with these measures and possible solutions. After this, respondents were asked to assess the extent to which they are able to influence biodiversity in urban grasslands through their own work. In addition, respondents were asked to evaluate the possibilities of other stakeholders, such as political decision-makers, research, green area planning, and green area construction, to influence biodiversity conservation. Background variables included are the respondent's age, gender, response language, time of response, industry of employment, and number of years of work experience related to green infrastructure.",

Kysely on kerätty osana Helsingin yliopistossa tehtävää väitöskirjatutkimusta, jonka tavoitteena on edistää biodiversiteettiä kaupunkiympäristöissä. "en": "The survey originates from a survey study examining Finnish physical and health education teachers’ fat attitudes and internalized weight stigma. The aim of the study was to investigate teachers’ attitudes toward fatness, their internalized weight stigma, and the personal characteristics associated with these constructs. Data were collected through an online questionnaire administered between December 2025 and January 2026.\r\n\r\nThe survey included standardized and validated instruments, such as the Fat Attitudes Assessment Toolkit (FAAT), the Modified Weight Bias Internalization Scale (WBIS-M), and a measure of social desirability (SDC), demographic and background variables (e.g., teaching experience, region, and weight-related experiences) and open questions related to teaching and pedagogical practices.\r\n\r\nThe final dataset comprises responses from 90 physical and health education teachers working in comprehensive and upper secondary schools across Finland. The data are quantitative, cross-sectional, and anonymized, and are suitable for statistical analyses examining professional attitudes toward fatness and weight stigma in educational contexts.",

"en": "The survey originates from a survey study examining Finnish teachers’ fat attitudes and internalized weight stigma. The aim of the study was to investigate teachers’ attitudes toward fatness, internalized weight stigma, and individual characteristics associated with these constructs. Data were collected through an online questionnaire in two phases, from September to October 2025 and from December 2025 to January 2026.\r\n\r\nThe survey included validated instruments assessing fat attitudes (Fat Attitude Assessment Toolkit; FAAT) and internalized weight stigma (Modified Weight Bias Internalization Scale; WBIS-M), as well as a measure of social desirability (SDC). The questionnaire also included demographic, professional, and weight-related background variables, such as teaching experience and experiences of weight stigma.",
"fi": "Kyselylomake on peräisin suomalaisten opettajien lihavuuteen liittyviä asenteita ja sisäistettyä painostigmaa tarkastelevasta kyselytutkimuksesta. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli selvittää opettajien asenteita lihavuutta kohtaan, sisäistettyä painostigmaa sekä näihin yhteydessä olevia yksilöllisiä tekijöitä.
