The respondents were asked who they lived with, whether someone helped them at home, who helped them the most with everyday tasks, and whether a housekeeper or home helper visited them regularly. Further questions examined whether the respondents spent most of the day on their feet, sitting down or in bed, whether they did their shopping by themselves, whether they went outside regularly, whether they followed news in the paper, and whether they thought it is a good thing for a person to live to be 100 years old. There was a background variable in the survey charting who had responded to the survey; the respondent him/herself, a family member, relative or acquaintance, or a home helper.",
"fi": "Tutkimuksessa kartoitettiin pitkän iän salaisuuksia tarkastelemalla 90 vuotta täyttäneiden tamperelaisten asumiseen, avun saamiseen ja arkeen liittyviä asioita. Aluksi tutkittavilta kysyttiin kenen kanssa he asuvat ja auttaako joku heitä kotona esimerkiksi pukeutumisessa, peseytymisessä ja ruoanlaitossa. Henkilökohtaista avunsaantia ja kodinhoitoapua selvitettiin tarkemmin kysymällä kuka auttaa eniten kotona jokapäiväisessä elämässä ja käykö kodinhoitaja tai kotiavustaja ainakin kerran viikossa. Muita arkeen ja toiminnallisuuteen liittyviä asioita selvitettiin kysymällä viettävätkö tutkittavat suurimman osan päivästä vuoteessa, jalkeilla vai istuskellen, käyvätkö he itse kaupassa, ulkoilevatko päivittäin ja seuraavatko uutisia sanomalehdistä. Lopuksi kysyttiin missä ammatissa tutkittavat ovat toimineet suurimman osan työikäänsä ja onko heidän mielestään ihmisen hyvä elää 100-vuotiaaksi. Aineistossa on lisäksi tieto siitä, vastasivatko vanhukset itse kysymyksiin vai sukulainen, tuttava tai avustaja heidän puolestaan."

"en": "The data consist of transcribed interviews of retired men who spent time on a market square in a town in Finland and fieldnotes containing the observations of the researcher. The men were interviewed either alone or in groups. The questions in the interviews were related to the public space and its use as well as the social networks between persons spending time in the square. Questions covered, for instance, the kind of days and time spent on the square, subjects of discussion, several aspects of the square as a meeting place, and different aspects of the group they met with. The square in which the study was conducted is a market square typical to Finnish medium-sized towns. The dataset is only available in Finnish.",
"fi": "Aineisto sisältää erään suomalaisen kaupungin toriaukiolla aikaansa viettävien eläkeläismiesten litteroituja haastatteluja sekä tutkijan havaintoja sisältävän kenttäpäiväkirjan. Eläkeläismiehiä on haastateltu tapauksesta riippuen joko yksin tai ryhmissä. Kysymysten teemat liittyvät julkiseen tilaan ja sen käyttöön sekä aukiolla aikaansa viettävien henkilöiden keskinäisiin sosiaalisiin verkostoihin. Aluksi haastateltavilta kysyttiin heidän aikaisemmasta työelämästään, siviilisäädystään sekä eläkkeellä olo ajasta. Tämän jälkeen kysyttiin mm. haastateltavien päivärutiineista, aukiolla luoduista ihmissuhteista ja haastateltavan ydinporukan rakenteesta. Seuraavaksi kartoitettiin konkreettisia tiloja, joissa haastateltava ja hänen ydinryhmänsä aikaansa viettävät, sekä kysyttiin mm. tekijöistä jotka haastateltava kokee häiriöksi aukion läheisyydessä. Haastateltavilta kysyttiin myös ryhmään ja tilaan liitetyistä merkityksistä sekä ryhmän sisäisistä keskustelun aiheista ja vuorovaikutuksesta. Lopuksi tiedusteltiin mahdollisia kaupunkikeskustaan liittyviä kehitysehdotuksia. Tutkimuspaikkana toiminut aukio on tyypillinen suomalaisen keskisuuren kaupungin keskustassa sijaitseva aukio. Aukiolla sijaitsee istutuksia, esiintymislava ja suihkulähde, ja sitä leikkaa kävelykatu. Aukiolla tai sen välittömässä läheisyydessä on mm. katukahviloita, terasseja, grilli, jäätelöbaari, kauppoja ja kauppakeskuksia. Haastateltavilta ei kysytty järjestelmällisesti taustatietoja, kuten ikää, ammattia tai asuinpaikkaa. Aineistoon kuuluva kenttäpäiväkirja sisältää tutkijan aukiolla tekemiä havaintoja ja muistiinpanoja. Tutkija on kirjoittanut muistiinpanot koneella pääsääntöisesti heti kentältä palattuaan."

"en": "The survey studied longevity and the oldest-old by charting the care, activity and everyday life of people aged 90 and over living in Tampere. The respondents were asked who they lived with, whether someone helped them at home, who helped them the most with everyday tasks, and whether a housekeeper or home helper visited them regularly. Further questions examined whether the respondents spent most of the day on their feet, sitting down or in bed, whether they did their shopping by themselves, whether they went outside regularly, whether they followed news in the paper, and whether they thought it is a good thing for a person to live to be 100 years old. Finally, relating to health and physical mobility, questions surveyed self-perceived health status, how well the respondents were able to move and do everyday activities (e.g. walk 400 metres, use the stairs, dress and undress, and get in and out of bed), and what they thought was their secret to old age. Background variables included the respondent's gender and year of birth. Additionally, there was a variable charting who had responded to the survey; the respondent him/herself, a family member, relative or acquaintance, or a home helper.",
"fi": "Tutkimuksessa kartoitettiin pitkän iän salaisuuksia tarkastelemalla 90 vuotta täyttäneiden tamperelaisten asumiseen, avun saamiseen, toimintakykyyn ja arkeen liittyviä asioita. Aluksi tutkittavilta kysyttiin kenen kanssa he asuvat ja auttaako joku heitä kotona esimerkiksi pukeutumisessa, peseytymisessä ja ruoanlaitossa. Henkilökohtaista avunsaantia ja kodinhoitoapua selvitettiin tarkemmin kysymällä kuka auttaa eniten kotona jokapäiväisessä elämässä ja käykö kodinhoitaja tai kotiavustaja ainakin kerran viikossa. Muita arkeen ja toiminnallisuuteen liittyviä asioita selvitettiin kysymällä viettävätkö tutkittavat suurimman osan päivästä vuoteessa, jalkeilla vai istuskellen, käyvätkö he itse kaupassa, ulkoilevatko päivittäin ja seuraavatko uutisia sanomalehdistä. Lopuksi kysyttiin missä ammatissa tutkittavat ovat toimineet suurimman osan työikäänsä, onko heidän mielestään ihmisen hyvä elää 100-vuotiaaksi ja millaiseksi he arvioivat oman terveydentilansa. Fyysistä toimintakykyä selvitettiin kysymällä kykenevätkö tutkittavat liikkumaan vaikeuksitta, kävelemään 400 metriä, kulkemaan portaissa, pukeutumaan, pääsevätkö vuoteesta ja mikä on heidän oma käsityksensä korkean ikänsä salaisuudesta. Edelleen kysyttiin vastasivatko vanhukset itse kysymyksiin. Taustamuuttujina ovat tutkittavan sukupuoli ja syntymävuosi."

"en": "The survey studied longevity and the oldest-old by charting the care, everyday life, and physical activity and capability of people aged 90 and over living in Tampere. The respondents who lived at home were asked who they lived with, whether someone helped them at home, who helped them the most with everyday tasks, whether a housekeeper or home helper visited them regularly, whether they spent most of the day on their feet, sitting down or in bed, and whether they thought it is a good thing for a person to live to be 100 years old. The rest of the questions were asked from both those respondents who lived at home as well as the ones living in residential care. These questions surveyed when the respondents had last been out of the house/apartment/room, whether they used any mobility aids when moving about outside, how well the respondents were able to move and do everyday activities (e.g. walk 400 metres, use the stairs, dress and undress, and get in and out of bed), what their health status was like, and which illnesses diagnosed by a doctor they had. Finally, the respondents were asked when they had last met their children, when they had last talked on the phone with someone close to them as well as whether they thought old people were respected and whether the circumstances of old people were better or worse than before. There were two background variables, which charted where the respondent had been at the time of responding (e.g. ordinary home, old people's home, hospital) and who had responded or aided in responding to the survey; the respondent him/herself, a family member, relative or acquaintance, or a home helper.",
"fi": "Tutkimuksessa kartoitettiin pitkän iän salaisuuksia tarkastelemalla 90 vuotta täyttäneiden tamperelaisten asumiseen, avun saamiseen, toimintakykyyn ja arkeen liittyviä asioita. Kotona asuvilta tutkittavilta kysyttiin aluksi kenen kanssa he asuvat ja auttaako joku heitä kotona esimerkiksi pukeutumisessa, peseytymisessä ja ruoanlaitossa. Henkilökohtaista avunsaantia ja kodinhoitoapua selvitettiin tarkemmin kysymällä kuka auttaa eniten kotona jokapäiväisessä elämässä, käykö kodinhoitaja tai kotiavustaja ainakin kerran viikossa ja viettävätkö tutkittavat suurimman osan päivästä vuoteessa, jalkeilla vai istuskellen. Lisäksi kysyttiin, onko heidän mielestään ihmisen hyvä elää 100-vuotiaaksi. Kaikkien vastaajien fyysistä toimintakykyä selvitettiin kysymällä kykenevätkö tutkittavat liikkumaan vaikeuksitta, kävelemään 400 metriä, kulkemaan portaissa, pukeutumaan, pääsevätkö vuoteesta, onko tutkittavilla lääkärin toteamia sairauksia ja millaiseksi he arvioivat oman terveydentilansa. Tiedusteltiin myös, kuinka usein vastaajat ulkoilevat. Lisäksi kysyttiin, missä ammatissa tutkittavat ovat toimineet suurimman osan työikäänsä sekä koska viimeksi he ovat tavanneet lapsiaan tai puhuneet puhelimessa sukulaisten tai ystävän kanssa. Lopuksi vastaajia pyydettiin arvioimaan, minkä verran iäkkäitä ihmisiä arvostetaan nykyisin ja onko vanhojen ihmisten asema muuttunut tutkittavien lapsuuden ajoista. The respondents were early childhood educators who had participated in educational partnership training and a development project for educational partnership organized by STAKES (National Research and Development Centre for Welfare and Health). The individual interviews had two themes; educational partnership as a concept and practice, and the educational partnership training organized by STAKES. The group discussions, which were recorded in the meetings of a coaching group of seven people, focused on the partnership between the educators and parents as well as the partnership between the educators themselves. The peer interviews were done in pairs between the educators, based on interview questions received, without the researcher being present. These interviews charted opinions on educational partnership, influence of 'partnership thinking' on work practices, the notion of good education/day care for children, and challenges in educational partnership. Background information included the interviewee's job title, year of birth, number of years worked in daycare, and the age group of children they worked with. The dataset is only available in Finnish.",
"fi": "Aineisto kattaa varhaiskasvatustyöntekijöiden litteroidut ryhmäkeskustelut sekä yksilö- ja vertaishaastattelut kahden vuoden ajalta. Keskustelu- ja haastatteluaineisto koottiin työntekijöiltä, jotka olivat osallistuneet Stakesin toteuttamaan Kasvatuskumppanuuden kehittämishankkeeseen (2003-2005) ja kasvatuskumppanuuden koulutukseen. Aloitushaastattelut toteutettiin yksilöhaastatteluina, joissa tutkija haastatteli vuorollaan kuutta päiväkotityöntekijää (kahta päiväkodinjohtajaa ja neljää lastentarhaopettajaa). Haastatteluissa oli kaksi teemaa: kasvatuskumppanuus käsitteenä ja toimintatapana sekä Stakesin järjestämä kasvatuskumppanuuskoulutus, johon haastateltavat olivat osallistuneet. Ensin tutkittavilta tiedusteltiin, mitä he ajattelivat kasvatuskumppanuudesta ja kuinka he hyödynsivät kasvatuskumppanuusajattelua yhteistyössä lasten vanhempien ja perheiden kanssa. Lisäksi heiltä kysyttiin, millaisena he näkevät lapsen ja muiden toimijoiden roolin kasvatuskumppanuudessa. Koulutukseen liittyen haastateltavilta kysyttiin, millaisia ajatuksia kasvatuskumppanuuden koulutus ja siinä käytetty elämänjanatyöskentely sekä työntekijöiden elämänkokemusten hyödyntäminen herättivät. Ryhmäkeskustelut nauhoitettiin seitsenhenkisen työnohjausryhmän tapaamisissa. Paikalla oli koulutukseen osallistuneiden varhaiskasvatustyöntekijöiden lisäksi myös ryhmää vetänyt psykologi. Työnohjausryhmässä käsiteltiin työntekijöiden ja vanhempien välistä, mutta myös työntekijöiden keskinäistä kasvatuskumppanuutta päivähoidon arjessa. Ryhmäkeskustelut käytiin osallistujien esiin nostamien aiheiden, ei valmiiden teemojen tai kysymysrunkojen kautta. Vertaishaastattelut työtekijät tekivät pareittain ilman tutkijan läsnäoloa. Vertaishaastattelua varten kullakin kolmella parilla oli käytössään kysymysrunko, jossa kysyttiin, miten työntekijä suhtautui kasvatuskumppanuuteen sekä miten kumppanuusajattelu on vaikuttanut työntekijän omiin ja työyhteisön työkäytäntöihin ja muuttanut käsitystä lapsen hyvästä päivähoidosta. Edelleen kysyttiin kokemuksia varhaiskasvatuksen tutustumiskäynneistä (aloituskotikäynti) ja aloituskeskusteluista sekä siitä, mitä haasteita kasvatuskumppanuuteen liittyy ja miten kumppanuusajattelu tukee lasta. Taustatietoina haastateltavilta tiedusteltiin heidän ammattinimikettään, syntymävuottaan, työssäoloaikaa päivähoidossa sekä lapsiryhmää, jossa he työskentelivät. Aineistosta on tehty html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla haastatteluja/keskusteluja on helppo selata."

"en": "This resource is available for download in Kielipankki – the Language Bank of Finland. \n\nLILABI (Linguistic Landscape of Bishkek) provides the largest open-access dataset of linguistic landscape for Bishkek, the capital city of Kyrgyzstan.\nThe dataset comprises images of 511 unique signs in Bishkek, presented in 12 languages, primarily Russian, Kyrgyz, and English. Each file name starts with the coordinates where the photograph was taken, followed by the name of the photograph.\nThe data were collected between October 19 and 27, 2024, during a field trip to Bishkek organized by the HALS (Helsinki Diversity Linguistics Group).\nFor ethical reasons, the people and number plates appearing in the photographs have been manually removed.\nThe metadata was manually prepared for the languages and alphabets they contain, in addition to the concept of the sign, such as restaurant or bank. You can link the photographs to the metadata by using the \"name\" key in the metadata file."

"en": "Festival Barometer is a recurring study aimed at gathering information about attendees of Finnish music festivals and tracking changes in their music and festival preferences over time. The dataset also contains open-ended questions, making it suitable for qualitative analysis. In 2024, the study was conducted by LiveFIN ry, The Multidimensional Tourism Institute of University of Lapland, the Sibelius Academy at the University of the Arts, and the following 28 festivals: Blockfest, Flow Festival, Helsingin juhlaviikot, Himos Juhannus, ILMIÖ, Ilosaarirock, Iskelmä Festival Himos, Iskelmä Festival Pori, Jysäri, Jytäkesä Go-Go, Kaupungin äänet, Kesärauha, Kuopiorock, Nummirock, Porispere, Provinssi, Qstock, RMJ, Ruisrock, Suomipop Festival Jyväskylä, Suomipop Festival Oulu, Tahko Juhannus, Tammerfest, Tikkurila Festival, Tuska, Työväen Musiikkitapahtuma, Wanaja Festival and Weekend Festival. In the first section of the survey, respondents were asked to answer questions with one specific Finnish festival in mind. They were asked to evaluate their satisfaction with the chosen festival and assess various aspects of it, such as the programme and services. The survey also asked how much money respondents spent both within and outside the festival area. In the more general section of the survey, respondents were asked to reflect on their opinions about festival attendance in general. Questions included who they usually attend music festivals with and what would encourage them to participate more often. The survey also explored key elements of the festival experience, such as performers and festival programme, food and beverage services, and the festival area itself. Next, respondents were asked how much festival tickets, food, accommodation, and travel expenses should cost at Finnish festivals. They were also asked about their likelihood of attending festivals in the coming years and were given an open-ended question to explain why they might not participate. In addition, respondents were asked whether they had experienced inappropriate treatment, harassment, or discrimination at music festivals in Finland during the past five years. They also indicated whether they belonged to any underrepresented group or minority. Finally, the survey explored respondents' preferred music genres, their relationship with music, and the importance of various values in their lives. Background variables included year of birth, gender, largest cities, region, education, occupational group, social class, and annual income. The survey allows comparisons over time with other data in the series, as respondents who have participated in more than one survey year can be linked using the id variable.",

Seuraavaksi vastaajat kertoivat, minkä verran festivaaliliput, ruoka, majoitus ja matkakulut saisivat heidän mielestänsä maksaa kotimaisilla festivaaleilla. Vastaajilta kysyttiin myös todennäköisyyttä osallistua festivaaleille tulevina vuosina ja kartoitettiin avokysymyksellä syitä siihen, miksi osallistumista pidetään epätodennäköisenä. Lisäksi selvitettiin, olivatko vastaajat kokeneet epäasiallista käytöstä, häirintää tai syrjintää suomalaisilla musiikkifestivaaleilla edellisen viiden vuoden aikana. Vastaajat kertoivat myös, kuuluivatko he johonkin aliedustettuun ryhmään tai vähemmistöön. Lopuksi kartoitettiin vastaajien mieluisimpia musiikkityylejä, heidän suhdettaan musiikkiin sekä eri arvojen merkitystä heille. Taustamuuttujina ovat syntymävuosi, sukupuoli, suurimmat kaupungit, maakunta, koulutus, ammattiryhmä, yhteiskuntaluokka ja vuositulot. Kyselyn avulla voidaan tehdä ajallista vertailua sarjan muihin aineistoihin, sillä useampana vuonna vastanneet voidaan yhdistää id-muuttujan avulla."

"en": "The survey explored Swedish-speaking Finns' views on the Swedish and Finnish languages, their use, and Swedish-language culture in Finland. The data were collected as part of the Citizen Panel of Swedish-speaking Finns (Barometern), which is part of The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion (FIRIPO). Respondents were first asked about their views on statements concerning the status of the Swedish language and the role of Swedish-speaking Finns in Finnish society, and were also asked to assess their own Finnish-language skills. The survey then explored opinions on Swedish-language education and cultural events in Finland. Next, respondents were asked about their use of Swedish in everyday life, including their attitudes towards language mixing and language use in different situations. Respondents were also asked to indicate their views on statements concerning Finland's future development, such as the status of Åland. Towards the end of the survey, respondents were asked about their views on the Swedish People's Party of Finland (SFP), its role in government, and its influence on relations between language groups. Finally, respondents were asked to assess their own linguistic identity. Background variables include region of residence (at the regional level), gender, age, year of birth, and level of education. In addition, respondents were asked about household size, the number of minors living in the household, and the linguistic background of those minors.",
"fi": "Aineistolla kerättiin tietoa siitä, miten suomenruotsalaiset suhtautuvat ruotsinkielisiin suomalaisiin, ruotsin ja suomen kieleen sekä ruotsinkieliseen kulttuuriin Suomessa. Aineisto on kerätty osana Suomenruotsalaista barometriä (Barometern), joka kuuluu kansalliseen yleisen mielipiteen mittaamisen infrastruktuuriin (The Finnish Research Infrastructure for Public Opinion, FIRIPO). Kyselylomakkeella vastaajaa pyydettiin aluksi ottamaan kantaa ruotsin kielen asemaa ja ruotsinkielisten suomalaisten roolia koskeviin väittämiin sekä arvioimaan omaa suomen kielen taitotasoaan. Tämän jälkeen kyselyssä kartoitettiin näkemyksiä ruotsinkielisestä koulutuksesta ja kulttuuritarjonnasta Suomessa. Seuraavaksi siirryttiin ruotsin kielen käyttöä arjessa koskeviin kysymyksiin, kuten suhtautumiseen kielten sekoittamiseen ja kielenkäyttöön eri vuorovaikutustilanteissa. "en": "The Finnish Working Life Barometers studies the quality of Finnish working life and changes in working conditions from the perspective of wage earners. The content of the Finnish Working Life Barometers has remained largely unchanged over the years. The 2024 survey began by asking respondents about the number of employees at their workplace and presented statements about the working atmosphere, openness, and fairness at the workplace. This was followed by statements related to maintaining work ability, asking, for example, whether the workplace promotes skills development and a safe working environment and whether the employer supports employees' physical activity. The survey also examined employees' opportunities for training and learning new skills. Next, questions were asked about flexible working hours, remote work, and wages. In addition, autonomy at work was surveyed by asking about employee's ability to influence on, for example, work tasks, work distribution, work pace, place of work, or workplace development. After that, they asked about the use of digital tools, such as social media, various instant messaging apps, and AI-based tools. The survey also examined whether respondents experienced unequal treatment, discrimination, or emotional abuse at work due to factors such as ethnic background, gender, or age. Respondents were also asked about experiences of physical violence and sexual harassment. Feelings related to work ability and work, such as stress, exhaustion, enthusiasm, meaningfulness, and community spirit, were also surveyed. Finally, questions were asked about possible changes in the respondents' work and whether they belonged to a trade union or unemployment fund. Background variables included, among others, gender, age, status in employment, employer type, industry of employment, type of contract and weekly working hours.",
"fi": "Työolobarometrit selvittävät suomalaisen työelämän laatua ja työolojen muutosta palkansaajien näkökulmasta. Työolobarometrien sisältö on pysynyt pääosin samanlaisena eri vuosina. Vuoden 2024 aineistossa kysyttiin aluksi vastaajien työpaikan henkilöstön määrästä sekä esitettiin muun muassa väitteitä työilmapiiristä, avoimuudesta ja tasapuolisuudesta työpaikalla. Tämän jälkeen esitettiin väitteitä työkyvyn ylläpitämiseen liittyen kysymällä esimerkiksi vaikutetaanko työpaikalla osaamisen kehittämiseen ja työympäristön turvallisuuteen sekä tukeeko työnantaja työntekijöiden liikuntaa. Edelleen kartoitettiin työntekijöiden mahdollisuuksia kouluttautumiseen ja uuden oppimiseen. Seuraavaksi kysyttiin työajan joustoista, etätyöstä ja palkkauksesta. Lisäksi selvitettiin työntekijän vaikutusmahdollisuuksia esimerkiksi työtehtäviin, työnjakoon, työtahtiin, työskentelypaikkaan tai työpaikan toiminnan kehittämiseen. Edelleen kartoitettiin, ilmeneekö vastaajan työpaikalla eriarvoista kohtelua, syrjintää tai henkistä väkivaltaa eri tahoilta liittyen esimerkiksi etniseen taustaan, sukupuoleen tai ikään. Lisäksi kysyttiin fyysisen väkivallan ja seksuaalisen häirinnän kohtaamisesta. Kartoitettiin myös työkykyyn ja työhön liittyviä tuntemuksia kuten stressiä, uupumusta, innostusta, merkityksellisyyttä ja yhteisöllisyyttä. "en": "The data consists of individual and group interviews related to services for families with children and child welfare. The interviews focus on the assessment of child well-being and the related process in situations where the central question is whether the case is a \"child welfare case\". The data was collected from child welfare professionals and supervisors in different municipal organizations, as well as from child welfare client workers and experts by experience. The experts are young adults with experience of child welfare themselves and parents with a child who has had client experience of child welfare. The interviews consist of four different interview frames, each targeting a different group. The interviews with professionals started by presenting the interviewees with a fictional situation related to a contact with a psychologist at a family counselling centre. The following questions deal with what could follow from this contact. First, the interviewees were asked about the assessment process related to the fictional situation. They were asked about who they would potentially undertake an assessment, who in their organization would be doing the assessment and who they would seek to involve in the assessment process. Professionals were also asked whether they had a model for evaluation that guided their activities. The third section deals with the child and family factors of the fictional situation. Interviewees were asked what information or factors would influence the decision to use services under the Social Welfare Act. This was followed by a discussion of the organization and the service system. Questions included how the services in place influence the assessment and how differences in views about what is in the best interests of the child are resolved. Finally, interviewees were asked how they would seek to ensure that the assessment was carried out in the best interests of the child and what factors might challenge the best interests of the child assessment. Background information included the role of the interviewee and, for employees, possible information on the work team, supervisor position and job title. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD.",
"fi": "Aineisto koostuu lapsiperhepalveluihin ja lastensuojeluun liittyvistä yksilö- ja ryhmähaastatteluista. Haastatteluissa käsitellään lapsen hyvinvoinnin arviointia ja siihen liittyvää prosessia tilanteissa, joissa keskeistä on kysymys siitä, onko kyse ”lastensuojeluasiasta”. Aineistoa on kerätty lastensuojelun ammattilaisilta ja esihenkilöiltä eri kuntaorganisaatioista sekä lastensuojelun asiakaskehittäjiltä ja kokemusasiantuntijoilta. "en": "The data examines the experiences of municipal, state, wellbeing services counties and church personnel on working conditions and well-being at work. The themes of the survey relate to work organisation, work community and working environment. The target group of the survey are personal customers insured under the Public Sector Pensions Act (JuEL), i.e. employees and contract workers of municipalities, government agencies and institutions funded from the state budget and employers of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. The questions have remained almost the same in the different years of the survey. In 2022, the survey included questions on workload, well-being at work, the functioning and atmosphere of the work community and the organisation of work. In addition, the survey asked about satisfaction with supervisory work, safety at work and whether they would recommend the workplace to friends. In 2022, two questions were added on the work community and two questions on the multi-location and time flexibility of the job. Background variables included occupational status, gender, type of employment contract, sector of employment, age group and field of occupation.",
"fi": "Aineistossa tarkastellaan kunta-alan, valtion, hyvinvointialueiden sekä kirkon henkilöstön kokemuksia työoloista ja työhyvinvoinnista. Kyselyn teemat liittyvät työn järjestämiseen, työyhteisöön ja työympäristöön. "en": "The dataset consists of interviews with elderly people in which the interviewees reflect on the course of their lives, everyday life, and participation in the Age Institute's Elämänote programme project. The interviews were conducted as peer interviews and the Age Institute trained and supported the interviewers during the project. The interviewers and interviewees were not previously acquainted with each other, but they lived in the same area. The aim of the study was to interview each of the interviewees a total of three times, of which two interviews took place within approximately two weeks and a third interview approximately a year after the first interview. The main themes of the interviews included the everyday lives of elderly people and their need for help in managing their everyday lives. The interviews consisted of questions on the interviewees' situation in life, factors that limited their ability to live their everyday lives, and the support they received as part of their everyday lives. Further questions focused on the future and how the interviewees thought that they would fare in the future. In addition to this, the interviewees were asked about the course of their lives and which things in their lives were important to them. The interviewees could also reflect on their participation in and their ability to influence everyday activities in their lives. In the third and final interview, the interviewees could leave a message for policymakers on topics that they felt were important to elderly people or on topics concerning elderly people for which they hoped for improvement on a societal level. Each of the three interviews had its own interview structure. Background information included the date of the interview, the duration of the interview, and the interviewee's gender. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The dataset is only available in Finnish.",
"fi": "Aineisto koostuu ikääntyneiden haastatteluista, joissa haastateltavat pohtivat elämänkulkua, arkea sekä Ikäinstituutin Elämänote -hankkeisiin osallistumista. Haastattelut toteutettiin vertaishaastatteluin ja Ikäinstituutti koulutti sekä tuki haastattelijoita hankkeen aikana. Haastateltavat ja haastattelijat eivät tunteneet toisiaan ennalta, mutta asuivat samalla alueella. Haastateltavia pyrittiin haastattelemaan yhteensä kolme kertaa, josta kaksi haastattelua tapahtui noin kahden viikon sisällä ja kolmas haastattelu noin vuoden päästä ensimmäisestä. Haastatteluissa oltiin kiinnostuneita selvittämään ikääntyneiden arjen sujuvuutta sekä avuntarvetta. Haastatteluissa kysyttiin elämäntilanteesta, rajoittavista tekijöistä arjessa, jotka estävät elämästä omannäköistä elämää sekä tuesta, jota arjessa saatiin. Edelleen kysyttiin tulevaisuudesta ja siitä, miten haastateltavat uskovat pärjäävänsä tulevaisuudessa. Tämän lisäksi haastatteluissa kysyttiin elämänkulusta ja elämässä koetuista tärkeistä asioista. Haastateltavat pohtivat myös osallistumistaan sekä vaikutusmahdollisuuksiaan arjen toimintojen parissa. Viimeisessä haastattelussa haastateltavat saivat jättää oman viestinsä päättäjille aiheista, jotka he kokivat arvokkaiksi ikääntyneille tai johon he toivoivat parannusta yhteiskunnan tasolta. Jokaisessa kolmessa eri haastattelussa käytettiin omaa haastattelurunkoa. Taustatietoina on mainittu sukupuoli, haastattelupäivämäärä sekä haastattelun kesto. Aineistosta on tehty html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla haastatteluja on helppo selata."

"en": "The data are part of Substance Abuse Treatment series, which comprises datasets that can be used in both quantitative and qualitative research. The questionnaire in this dataset was filled in by therapists working in outpatient clinics in Western and Southern Finland and whose patients participated in the study. The patients answered a separate questionnaire (see FSD2687). The respondents were first asked which treatment method or approach they themselves mostly used and how important they thought some often used methods or approaches were. Opinions were probed on whether the respondents would prefer to work with members of one sex over the other. The respondents were asked whether they had experienced sexual violence or abuse, had been exposed to someone's alcohol or drug problem as a child, had been interested in helping people as a child and whether they had personal experience of recovering from substance abuse. Finally, the respondents' religiosity and enthusiasm for their work were investigated. Background variables included, among others, the respondent's age, gender, marital status, education and job title During the study, the respondents were also asked to respond to vignette questions, the answers to which are available in a separate dataset (FSD2689).",
"fi": "Aineisto on osa laajempaa Suomalainen päihdehoito -sarjaa, johon kuuluu niin kvantitatiiviseen kuin kvalitatiiviseen tutkimukseen soveltuvia osa-aineistoja. Lomakekysely on kerätty niiltä Etelä- ja Länsi-Suomessa A-klinikoilla työskenteleviltä terapeuteilta, jotka hoitivat sellaisia päihdeongelmaisia, joille tehtiin saman tutkimuksen yhteydessä oma erillinen lomakekysely (FSD2687). Kyselyn alkupuolen kysymykset liittyvät niihin hoidollisiin menetelmiin, joita joko vastaaja itse tai päihdehoito yleisemmällä tasolla hyödyntää. Seuraavaksi kysytään onko asiakkaan sukupuolella merkitystä sen suhteen, kuinka vastaaja suhtautuu työhönsä. Tämän jälkeen kysytään vastaajan lapsuuteen ja lapsuuden perheeseen liittyviä kysymyksiä, sekä tiedustellaan vastaajan uskonnollisuutta. Myös vastaajan omakohtaisia kokemuksia päihdeongelmista toipumisesta sekä mahdollisia väkivallan tai seksuaalisen hyväksikäytön kokemuksia tiedustellaan. Kyselyn taustamuuttujia ovat mm. ikä, sukupuoli, perhemuoto, koulutus ja päihdehoidossa toimimisaika. Kyselyn yhteydessä tutkimukseen osallistujia pyydettiin vastaamaan myös avoimeen kirjoitustehtävään, jonka vastaukset on saatavilla erillisenä osa-aineistona (FSD2689). The respondents were presented with five different hypothetical situations in which clients told about their problems or asked for advice. The respondents were requested to write down how they would proceed and what they would say to the clients. The frame stories were part of a questionnaire that the therapists/counsellors were requested to fill in and which is available as a separate dataset (FSD2688). The dataset is only available in Finnish.",

Tutkimushenkilöt ovat sellaisia A-klinikoilla päihdetyötä tekeviä terapeutteja, joiden hoitamille päihdeongelmaisille tehtiin saman tutkimuksen yhteydessä oma erillinen lomakekysely (FSD2687). Eläytymistehtävä oli osa terapeuteille tehtyä lomakekyselyä, jonka viimeinen kysymys tämän aineiston muodostava eläytymistehtävä oli. Kyseinen lomakekysely on saatavilla omana SPSS portable -muotoisena aineistona (FSD2688). Tutkimushenkilöille esitettiin viisi erilaista asiakaspuheenvuoroa, joihin heitä pyydettiin vastaamaan siten kun he vastaavanlaisen tilanteen kohdatessaan asiakkaalle vastaisivat; miten he ylipäänsä toimisivat. Osa vastauksista on kirjoitettu käsin ja osa koneella. Eläytymistehtävään vastanneiden taustatiedot on saatavissa lomakekyselyaineistosta FSD2688, jonka vastaajien tunnistenumeroita tämän aineiston numerot vastaavat."

"en": "The data are part of Substance Abuse Treatment series, which comprises datasets that can be used in both quantitative and qualitative research. The respondents were drug and alcohol counsellors who worked in inpatient treatment facilities and who had a minimum of one year's experience in substance abuse treatment. The data consist of written responses to five different frame stories / vignettes. The respondents were presented with five different hypothetical situations in which clients told about their problems or asked for advice. The respondents were requested to write down how they would proceed and what they would say to the clients. The frame stories were part of a questionnaire, which is available as a separate dataset (FSD2690). The respondents received the frame stories with the questionnaire, but they were given two weeks to respond to them. 97 out of 162 respondents who had responded to the questionnaire (FSD2690) also responded to the vignettes.",

"en": "The survey studied Finnish people with substance abuse problems, their treatment and rehabilitation process, and the success of treatment. The participants were clients of outpatient clinics who were asked to fill in questionnaires at different stages of the rehabilitation process. At the beginning of the the treatment, themes pertained to the respondents' background, use of substances and perceptions on treatment. Questions covered their recent substance use and frequency, longest period of sobriety, contacts with other substance abusers, experiences of sexual abuse, attitude towards the principles and activities of AA/NA groups, and religiosity. Treatment history and views on the beginning treatment were charted with questions focusing on whether the respondents had been a client of that particular clinic before, whether they had sought treatment voluntarily, what their goals regarding treatment were, which gender they wished their therapist to be, the importance of medication during treatment, belief in the success of treatment and whether recovery happens as a result of the therapist's or the respondents' own actions. After six months of treatment, the respondents were again asked about their substance use and frequency, periods of sobriety and contacts with other substance abusers. Questions were also asked about their attendance in AA/NA group activities and other treatment, and their satisfaction with the help and support received from the therapist. The data further include responses to AASE questionnaire (The Alcohol Addiction Self-Efficacy Scale) that measures a person's ability to abstain from substance abuse. The respondents' impressions on their negative emotions as well as their readiness to change were investigated with STAXI (State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory) and URICA (University of Rhode Island Change Assessment) questionnaires. The variables W1T-W3A include responses of both the clients and their therapists to the question about how well they have been able to cooperate. These responses were collected at the end of the first and third therapy sessions. Additionally, the data include a variable that the therapist recorded (KDI-variable) which provides information on whether the treatment period was finished as planned. A separate survey was conducted for the therapists of the respondents in this study (see FSD2688 and FSD2689).",

Tämä lomakekysely on kerätty A-klinikoille hoitoon tulleilta päihdeongelmaisilta seitsemällä eri A-klinikalla Etelä- ja Länsi-Suomessa. Mukana olevat A-klinikat on valittu maantieteellisin ja väestöllisin perustein. Tutkimukseen pääsivät mukaan kaikki halukkaat tammi-heinäkuussa 2008 kyseisille A-klinikoille hoitoon hakeutuneet henkilöt. Aineistoa on kerätty sekä ensimmäisellä käyntikerralla että hoidon jatkuessa. Hoidon alkaessa hoitoon tulevilta päihdehoidon asiakkailta kysyttiin mm. heidän taustastaan, päihteiden käytöstään sekä heidän suhtautumisestaan hoitoon. Yksittäiset kysymykset kartoittivat esimerkiksi päihdeongelmaisten kontakteja muihin päihteiden käyttäjiin, käytettyjä päihteitä, viimeaikaisia selviä jaksoja, päihdehoitoon liittyviä henkilökohtaisia tavoitteita ja uskoa hoidon onnistumiseen. Kun hoitoa oli jatkunut kuusi kuukautta, vastaajilta kysyttiin uudelleen heidän päihteiden käytöstään, sekä lisäksi esimerkiksi heidän osallistumisestaan ryhmätoimintaan ja tyytyväisyydestään terapeuteilta hoidon aikana saamaansa apuun. Aineisto pitää sisällään myös vastaukset päihdehoidon asiakkaille tehtyyn AASE (The Alcohol Addiction Self-Efficacy Scale) -mittariin perustuvaan kyselyyn, jolla pyritään selvittämään päihdeongelmaisten kykyä kieltäytyä päihteistä. Myös tutkimushenkilöiden käsityksiä omista negatiivisista tunteistaan sekä heidän muutosvalmiuttaan selvitettiin erillisillä STAXI (State-Trait Anger Expression Inventory) ja URICA (University of Rhode Island Change Assessment) mittareilla. Aineiston muuttujat W1T-W3A pitävät sisällään sekä A-klinikoiden asiakkaiden että heidän terapeuttiensa vastaukset kysymykseen heidän välisensä yhteistyösuhteen toimivuudesta. Arvio kerättiin ensimmäisen ja kolmannen terapiasession päätteeksi. Aineisto sisältää lisäksi terapeutin kirjaaman muuttujan, joka kuvaa hoidon jatkuvuutta (KDI-muuttuja).
