"en": "In 2024, the theme of the international International Social Survey Programme (ISSP) survey was the digital society. The dataset includes Finnish views on the digital society as well as the use of the Internet and digital technology. The survey explored, among other things, the frequency and ways of using the Internet, digital skills, concerns related to data protection, and attitudes toward artificial intelligence and robotics. Respondents were asked about the prevalence of Internet use, with which devices and where they used Internet (e.g., home, workplace, public spaces), and the purposes of Internet use, such as communication, information retrieval, shopping, entertainment, and social media. The survey also examined reasons for not using the Internet. The survey inquired at respondents' experiences with, for example, online fraud and harassment, as well as trust in different sources of information, other Internet users, or societal institutions. Respondents reported their participation in social and political activities both online and offline. In addition, they were asked about views on privacy, the protection of personal data, and authorities' rights to monitor digital communication. The survey also explored perceived benefits and drawbacks of digital technology for different population groups (e.g., gender, age, education level, region, income level). Questions related to artificial intelligence and robotics addressed attitudes toward the use of AI in various areas of life, such as medical procedures or travel, concerns about job automation, and opinions on the reliability and use of AI-generated information. Background variables included, among others, the respondent's gender, year of birth, marital status, level of education, occupation, voting behaviour, gross income, current labour market status, household size, and major region (NUTS 2). In addition, background variables included the education, occupation and labour market status of the respondent's spouse.",

Kyselyssä kartoitettiin muun muassa internetin käyttötiheyttä ja -tapoja, digitaalista osaamista, tietosuojaan liittyviä huolia sekä suhtautumista tekoälyyn ja robotiikkaan. Vastaajilta kysyttiin internetin käytön yleisyydestä, käytetyistä laitteista ja käyttöpaikoista (esim. koti, työpaikka, julkiset tilat) sekä internetin käyttötarkoituksista, kuten viestintä, tiedonhaku, ostokset, viihde ja sosiaalinen media. Kyselyssä selvitettiin myös syitä internetin käyttämättömyyteen. Aineistossa tarkasteltiin vastaajien kokemuksia esimerkiksi verkkohuijauksista ja verkkohäirinnästä, sekä luottamusta eri tietolähteisiin, muihin Internetin käyttäjiin ja yhteiskunnallisiin instituutioihin. Kyselyssä kartoitettiin myös digitaalisen teknologian koettuja hyötyjä ja haittoja eri väestöryhmille (esim. sukupuoli, ikä, koulutustaso, asuinalue, tulotaso). Tekoälyyn ja robotiikkaan liittyvät kysymykset käsittelivät mm. suhtautumista tekoälyn käyttöön eri elämänalueilla, esimerkiksi lääketieteellisissä toimenpiteissä tai matkustuksessa, huolia työpaikkojen automatisoinnista sekä asenteita tekoälyn tuottaman tiedon luotettavuudesta ja käytöstä. Taustamuuttujia ovat muun muassa vastaajan sukupuoli, syntymävuosi, siviilisääty, koulutustaso, ammatti, äänestyskäyttäytyminen, bruttotulot, nykyinen työmarkkina-asema, kotitalouden koko sekä suuralue. "en": "The study examined the experiences of Overseas Filipino Workers recruited to Finland through employment or study routes. It is part of the project commissioned by Work in Finland to overview of the labour recruitment ecosystem in the Philippines. The survey explored the nature of recruitment and whether respondents had come to Finland to work or study. They reported their current field of employment, the match between their work and education, their educational background, and any additional training completed in Finland. The study also examined whether respondents sent money to their families in the Philippines and whether they intended to remain in Finland permanently. In relation to the period before their recruitment process began, respondents described how they had first learned about opportunities in Finland, what had motivated them to pursue employment, how familiar and prepared they had been for Finnish working life and relocation, and how actively they had searched for information. They also indicated how easy it had been to access information and which factors had influenced their choice of recruitment path. Regarding the period of their recruitment process, respondents described which type of agency or employer had handled their application and outlined both positive aspects and challenges they had experienced. They reported on communication, documentation, legal procedures, financial costs, support received, and the clarity of job descriptions and salary information. They also noted any experiences of discrimination, the expenses incurred, and whether they had been required to take Finnish language training. In connection with the post-recruitment process, respondents assessed their sense of belonging in their work community and identified what information or support would have better prepared them for Finnish working life. They also highlighted changes they considered necessary in the recruitment process and provided reflections on family reunification and ethical recruitment.. Background variables included the respndent's age, gender, civil status, length of stay in Finland and number of children.",

Aikaan ennen rekrytointiprosessin aloittamista liittyen vastaajilta kysyttiin, miten he alun perin saivat tietää työmahdollisuuksista Suomessa ja mikä motivoi heitä hakeutumaan Suomeen töihin. Edelleen kartoitettiin, kuinka hyvin vastaajat tunsivat suomalaisen työkulttuurin ja kuinka valmistautuneita he olivat muuton mahdollisiin haasteisiin. Rekrytointiprosessiaikaan liittyen tiedusteltiin, millaisia kokemuksia vastaajilla oli esimerkiksi rekrytointiyritysten tarjoamasta tuesta, viestinnän selkeydestä ja nopeudesta sekä Suomen työlainsäädännöstä ja työntekijän oikeuksista annetun tiedon riittävyydestä. Lisäksi kysyttiin, millaisia haasteita he kohtasivat esimerkiksi työnantajien ja rekrytointiyritysten välisessä viestinnässä, rekrytointiprosessiin liittyvien erilaisten kulujen kattamisessa sekä rekrytointiprosessin viivästyksistä. Kysyttiin myös, ovatko vastaajat kohdanneet syrjintää tai huonoa kohtelua prosessin aikana ja ovatko he osallistuneet suomen kielen kurssille osana prosessia. Rekrytointiprosessin parannusehdotuksina vastaajat mainitsivat muun muassa laajemman kulttuurisensitiivisyyskoulutuksen tarjoamisen rekrytoijille ja työnantajille, suomen kielen taidon arvioinnin tai kielen oppimisen tuen lisäämisen sekä ennen lähtöä tarjottavat perehdytysohjelmat. Lisäksi kartoitettiin, mitkä tekijät olisivat voineet paremmin valmistaa vastaajia Suomen työelämään rekrytointiprosessin aikana. Tekijöinä lueteltiin esimerkiksi yksityiskohtaisempi tieto, tuki ja ohjeistus Suomen palkkatasosta, elinkustannuksista, lainsäädännöstä, verotuksesta, asumisesta, terveydenhoitojärjestelmästä, kulttuurista ja tavoista. Lopuksi kysyttiin saadusta perhe-elämän tuesta ja perheenyhdistämisestä. Taustamuuttujia ovat vastaajan ikäluokka, sukupuoli, siviilisääty, asumisaika Suomessa sekä lasten lukumäärä."

"en": "The survey examined working-age clients' experiences of social work practice within social welfare services. The data was collected as part of the SULAVA project, which studied the quality and effectiveness of social welfare services in the Inland Finland collaborative area in 2024-2025. First, respondents were asked how long they had been clients of social work services and how often they are in contact with their social worker. In addition, the respondents' experiences of their own quality of life were explored. This was followed by questions about customer service experiences within social work and the content of social work practice. Respondents were asked about their experiences with social work services, the actions of social workers, and their interactions with them. They assessed, among other things, the expertise, understanding, and reliability of social workers, as well as their overall satisfaction with the services received. Next, respondents were asked to evaluate their satisfaction with the support provided by different actors. They also assessed how well social work practice had met their own goals and expectations. In addition, respondents described which aspects of the work or which services had been most and least helpful to them. Finally, they evaluated how their life situation had changed during their time as clients. Background variables include the respondent's gender, age, mother tongue, wellbeing services county, level of education, living arrangement, and economic activity.",

Aineisto on kerätty osana SULAVA-hanketta, jossa tutkittiin sosiaalihuollon laatua ja vaikuttavuutta Sisä-Suomen yhteistyöalueella vuosina 2024-2025. Aluksi kyselyssä selvitettiin, kuinka pitkään vastaajat ovat olleet sosiaalihuollon asiakkaina sekä kuinka usein he tapaavat tai ovat yhteydessä heidän sosiaalihuollon työntekijäänsä. Lisäksi kartoitettiin vastaajien kokemuksia omasta elämänlaadustaan. Tämän jälkeen kysyttiin asiakaspalvelukokemuksista sosiaalihuollossa sekä sosiaalihuollon työskentelyn sisällöstä. Vastaajilta kysyttiin kokemuksia sosiaalihuollon palveluista, työntekijöiden toiminnasta ja vuorovaikutuksesta heidän kanssaan. Vastaajat arvioivat muun muassa työntekijöiden asiantuntemusta, ymmärtäväisyyttä, kunnioittavuutta ja luotettavuutta sekä tyytyväisyyttään saatuihin palveluihin. The survey is part of the Zero Tolerance project (Pelastustoimen nollatoleranssi syrjinnälle ja häirinnälle - faktaa vai fiktiota?), which explores the prevalence, manifestation, measures, and effects of inappropriate and violent treatment experienced in the rescue and emergency medical services sectors. At the beginning of the survey, respondents were asked whether they had experienced or observed inappropriate or violent treatment, either within their own organization or from external sources. The prevalence of such treatment was assessed by asking how often the respondents or their colleagues had encountered various forms of inappropriate or violent behavior (e.g., threats, sexual harassment, discrimination) during the past 12 months. After this, the respondents were asked to specify their personal experiences and observations related to the different forms of treatment The effects of inappropriate or violent treatment (physical/psychological/professional) were assessed by asking about the type and duration of the impacts. Additionally, the survey explored how the respondents reacted to such situations. Next, the survey asked whether the respondent's organization has a reporting system in place for reporting inappropriate or violent treatment. The respondents were also asked for their views on the functionality and use of these reporting systems, as well as their level of work-related exhaustion. Finally, the survey gathered the respondents' opinions on the measures taken by their organization to prevent inappropriate or violent treatment and the perceived effectiveness of these measures. The background variables in the data include the respondent's occupational group, organizational position, organizational affiliation, gender, work rhythm, length of career, contact method, and language version.",

Lisäksi tarkastellaan näiden ilmiöiden vaikutuksia sekä keinoja niiden ehkäisemiseksi. Kysely on osa tutkimushanketta Pelastustoimen nollatoleranssi syrjinnälle ja häirinnälle - faktaa vai fiktiota? (Nollatoleranssi-hanke), jossa selvitetään pelastusalan ja ensihoidon kokeman epäasiallisen ja väkivaltaisen kohtelun yleisyyttä, ilmenemismuotoja, toimenpiteitä ja vaikutuksia. Kyselyn alussa kartoitetaan vastaajien kokemuksia tai havaintoja epäasiallisesta tai väkivaltaisesta kohtelusta sekä työskentelyorganisaation sisällä että sen ulkopuolella. Esiintyvyyttä selvitetään muun muassa kysymällä, kuinka usein vastaajat itse tai heidän kollegansa ovat kohdaneet erilaisia epäasiallisen tai väkivaltaisen kohtelun muotoja (esim. uhkailu, seksuaalinen häirintä, syrjintä) viimeisen 12 kuukauden aikana. Tämän jälkeen vastaajia pyydetään tarkentamaan kokemuksiaan ja havaintojaan eri kohtelun muodoista. Epäasiallisen tai väkivaltaisen kohtelun vaikutuksia (fyysiset/psyykkiset/ammatilliset) arvioidaan kysymällä, millaisia ja kuinka pitkäkestoisia vaikutukset ovat olleet. Lisäksi selvitetään, miten vastaajat ovat reagoineet tällaisiin tilanteisiin. Seuraavaksi kyselyssä tiedustellaan, onko vastaajan organisaatiossa käytössä ilmoitusjärjestelmä, jonka kautta voi raportoida epäasiallisesta tai väkivaltaisesta kohtelusta. Vastaajilta kysytään myös heidän näkemyksiään ilmoitusjärjestelmien toimivuudesta ja käytöstä sekä heidän kokemastaan työuupumuksen tasosta. Lopuksi kartoitetaan vastaajien mielipiteitä organisaation toimenpiteistä epäasiallisen tai väkivaltaisen kohtelun ehkäisemiseksi sekä näiden toimenpiteiden vaikuttavuudesta. "en": "The data includes 30 group interviews and 19 individual interviews conducted in the Gerontological social work responding to complex needs of older adults (GERIT) research project. Due to the timing of the interviews, several of the interviews discuss the impact of COVID-19 restrictions on the lives of older people and the services provided to them. Group interviews with client and service advisors cover the reasons for becoming a client, the typical service process, and counselling and guidance. They also discuss service needs assessments, post-assessment interventions and the challenges of meeting service needs. Discussions also cover the identification of specific support needs and cooperation with different service providers. The group interviews with third sector workers ask what kind of services the organisation offers to older people and in what situation older people seek these services. They also discuss the challenges faced by older people, such as financial problems, and their resources. The interviews also discuss training of volunteers and referral of older people to other services, as well as cooperation with social services in the area. The group interviews with social workers in client counselling ask about successful and challenging client relationships and reflect on trust and the authority of the parties in a client relationship. The interviews also discuss how the client's motivation or attitude affects the relationship and how the worker can influence these factors. The interviews also discuss how to act if the client does not perceive or understand that they need support, but the worker sees an obvious need for support. The group interviews with diaconal workers focus on the participants' own diaconal work backgrounds and the diaconal responsibilities of their churches. Participants describe how and why older people come to the diaconal work. They also describe different types of challenging client situations and assess the impact of diaconal work in responding to the support needs of older people. The interviews also cover cooperation with other service providers. The group interviews in outreach work with older people focus on the characteristics of the work and ways of reaching clients. The interviews discuss the reasons for older clients' support needs, such as loneliness, isolation and lack of networks. The interviews include discussions on the practices of outreach work for older people and its relevance as part of services for older people. The group interviews with gerontological social workers explore the ways in which and the reasons why clients come to the service counselling. Participants describe the content of the client counselling process and the practices used to identify service needs. Interviewees are asked about the situations in which the expertise of a social worker is needed and examples of these situations. The identification of specific support needs and cooperation with providers of services for older people are also discussed. Group interviews with social welfare and income support workers discuss the referral of older people as clients and the assessment of their service needs. Participants also discuss the challenges of the work, the specific support needs of clients and how to identify them. Finally, cooperation with gerontological social work is discussed. The individual interviews with clients of diaconal work and gerontological social work go through the life situation, everyday life, living environment, home conditions and family relationships of the interviewees. The interviewees talk about their life history, the work they have done, their current concerns and problems. They are asked how they feel they have been able to seek and receive help, and they also share their thoughts about the future. In the individual interviews, the background information included client group, age, gender and regional data. For group interviews, background information included the professional or expert group represented by the interviewees, the time of the interview and the number and gender of the interviewees.",

Lisäksi haastatteluissa keskustellaan siitä, miten asiakkaan motivaatio tai asenne vaikuttaa asiakassuhteeseen ja miten työntekijä voi vaikuttaa näihin tekijöihin. Haastatteluissa keskustellaan myös siitä, miten toimitaan, jos asiakas ei itse koe tai ymmärrä olevansa tuen tarpeessa, mutta työntekijä näkee tuen tarpeen ilmeisenä. Diakoniatyöntekijöiden ryhmähaastatteluissa käsitellään osallistujien omaa diakoniatyötaustaa ja heidän seurakuntiensa diakoniatyön vastuualueita. Osallistujat kertovat, miten ikääntyneet tulevat diakoniatyön piiriin ja millaisista syistä. He kuvaavat erilaisia haasteellisia asiakastilanteita ja arvioivat diakoniatyön vaikutusmahdollisuuksia vastata ikääntyneiden tuen tarpeisiin. Haastatteluissa käsitellään myös yhteistyötä muiden palveluntarjoajien kanssa. Etsivän vanhustyön ryhmähaastatteluissa käsitellään työn tunnusomaisia piirteitä ja tapoja tavoittaa asiakkaat. Haastatteluissa keskustellaan ikääntyneiden asiakkaiden tuen tarpeiden syistä, kuten yksinäisyydestä, eristäytymisestä ja verkostojen puutteesta. Haastatteluissa käydään keskusteluja etsivän vanhustyön toimintatavoista ja sen merkityksestä osana ikääntyvien palveluita. Gerontologisen sosiaalityöntekijöiden ryhmähaastatteluissa selvitetään, millä tavoin ja millaisista syistä asiakkaat tulevat palveluohjauksen piiriin. Osallistujat kuvaavat asiakasohjausprosessin sisällön ja palvelutarpeen selvittämisen käytännöt. Haastateltavilta kysytään, millaisissa tilanteissa tarvitaan sosiaalityöntekijän asiantuntemusta ja esimerkkejä näistä tilanteista. Lisäksi käsitellään erityisen tuen tarpeen tunnistamista ja yhteistyöstä ikäihmisten palveluita tuottavien kanssa. Sosiaalipäivystyksen ja toimeentulotuen työntekijöiden ryhmähaastatteluissa keskustellaan ikääntyneiden ohjautumisesta asiakkaiksi ja heidän palvelutarpeensa arvioinnista. Osallistujat käyvät läpi myös työn haasteita, asiakkaiden erityisen tuen tarpeita ja niiden tunnistamista. Lopuksi keskustellaan yhteistyöstä gerontologisen sosiaalityön kanssa. Diakoniatyön ja gerontologisen sosiaalityön asiakkaiden yksilöhaastatteluissa käydään läpi haastateltavien elämäntilannetta, arkipäivää, asuinympäristöä, kodin olosuhteita ja perhesuhteita. Haastateltavat kertovat elämänhistoriastaan, tekemästään työstä, nykyisistä huolista ja ongelmista. Heiltä kysytään, miten kokevat avun hakemisen ja saamisen onnistuneen ja he kertovat myös ajatuksia tulevaisuudestaan. Yksilöhaastatteluissa taustatietoina ovat asiakasryhmä, ikä, sukupuoli ja aluetieto. Ryhmähaastatteluissa taustatietoina ovat haastateltavien edustama ammatti- tai asiantuntijaryhmä, ajankohta ja haastatteluun osallistuneiden määrä ja sukupuoli."

"en": "The dataset consists of interviews with professionals in the fields of education and social work on their experiences of working on the inclusion and integration of children with immigrant backgrounds. The professionals interviewed include public service interpreters, school social workers, teachers, counsellors, and other workers in the field of social work, such as individuals working in reception centres. The data includes both individual and group interviews. The data were collected as part of the Child-up research project, which aims to enhance understanding on the experiences of migrant children, young people, and their guardians regarding school, pre-school, and educational communities, as well as the experiences of the professionals working with them. The research project is funded by the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation funding programme. The content of the interview framework varied slightly between representatives of different professional groups. The interviews explored the professionals' experiences of working with children with immigrant backgrounds. First, the interviewees were asked about their job description, and the challenges they faced and the support they needed in their jobs. This was followed by an exploration of the interviewees' views on children's peer relationships, as well as their experiences of cooperation with families and other professionals. Finally, the interviewees were asked for suggestions for areas of improvement. The aim of the study was to identify good practices that support the inclusion and integration of children from immigrant backgrounds. Other key themes that emerged from the interviews included early childhood education and care, multiculturalism, agency, gender roles, language awareness, and cultural awareness. Background variables included the interviewee's gender, occupation, and the date of the interview. The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. In addition to this qualitative dataset, FSD holdings contain quantitative datasets FSD3438-FSD3443 which are related to the same research project. The dataset is only available in Finnish.",
"fi": "Aineisto käsittelee kasvatus- ja sosiaalialan ammattilaisten kokemuksia liittyen maahanmuuttajataustaisten lasten osallisuuteen, kotoutumiseen sekä heidän kanssa työskentelyyn. Haastateltuja ammattilaisia ovat asioimistulkit, koulukuraattorit, opettajat, ohjaajat sekä muut sosiaalialan työntekijät esimerkiksi vastaanottokeskuksissa. Aineisto koostuu sekä yksittäishaastatteluista että ryhmähaastatteluista. Aineisto on kerätty osana Child-up-hanketta, jonka tavoitteena on lisätä ymmärrystä maahanmuuttajataustaisten lasten ja heidän huoltajiensa kokemuksista oppilaitoksissa, varhaiskasvatuksessa ja kasvatusyhteisöissä sekä heidän kanssaan työskentelevien ammattilaisten toiminnasta. Hankkeen on rahoittanut Euroopan Unionin Horisontti 2020 tutkimus- ja innovaatio-ohjelma. Haastattelurungon sisältö vaihteli hieman eri ammattiryhmien edustajien välillä. Haastatteluissa kartoitettiin ammattilaisten kokemuksia työstä maahanmuuttajataustaisten lasten kanssa. Kysymyksillä kartoitettiin ensin työnkuvaa, työssä kohdattavia haasteita sekä siinä tarvittavaa tukea. Haastatteluissa keskityttiin koulu- ja kasvatuskontekstiin. Seuraavaksi selvitettiin ajatuksia lasten vertaissuhteista sekä perheiden ja muiden toimijoiden kanssa tapahtuvasta yhteistyöstä. Lopuksi haastateltavilta tiedusteltiin kehitysehdotuksia. Pyrkimyksenä oli selvittää hyviä käytänteitä, jotka tukevat maahanmuuttajataustaisten lasten osallisuutta ja kotoutumista. Muita keskeisiä haastatteluissa esiintyviä teemoja olivat esimerkiksi varhaiskasvatus, monikulttuurisuus, toimijuus, sukupuoliroolit sekä kieli- ja kulttuuritietoisuus. Taustatietoina ovat päivämäärä, haastateltavan sukupuoli ja ammatti. Aineistosta on tehty html-versio, jonka hakemiston avulla haastatteluja on helppo selata. "en": "The dataset consists of 28 interviews with 11-15-year-old Helsinki schoolchildren, who discuss their lives and perceptions of gender and masculinity. The interviews also discuss school, family, friends and leisure time. Of the interviews, 22 are individual interviews and six are group interviews with 2-5 participants. A majority of the participants are boys. The data were collected as part of the project \"Masculinities and Ethnicities in New Times: 11-14-year-olds in Helsinki schools\". The research was funded by the University of Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies and Jane and Aatos Erkko Foundation. The interviewers ask the participants' views on gender and gender role differences as well as whether gender affects friendships or behaviour. The interviewees also tell about their family relationships, school life, and leisure time activities such as social media use and hobbies. The participants were also asked about their hopes for the future, and whether they were able to discuss their worries with someone. The interviews also discuss bullying, cultural differences and the youth's experiences of the use and meaning of money. Background information in the data include interview date, duration and environment (e.g. school, home) as well as the interviewee's age, gender and cultural background. The interviews were conducted in three socio-economically different areas, and the participants had different cultural backgrounds. Photos used for elicitation were also archived. Background information on the photos include stock photo vendor and name of photographer (if known). The data were organised into an easy to use HTML version at FSD. The data are only available in Finnish.",

Haastatteluilla kartoitettiin nuorten ajatuksia esimerkiksi koulusta, perheestä, ystävistä ja vapaa-ajasta. Interview themes included management of social work, workplace well-being, and management for change. "fi": "Aineisto koostuu julkisessa organisaatiossa lähijohtajina toimivien sosiaalityöntekijöiden haastatteluista. Haastattelujen teemoja olivat sosiaalityön lähijohtaminen, työhyvinvointi ja muutosjohtaminen. Yksittäisissä kysymyksissä kysyttiin mm. lähijohtamiseen liittyvistä haasteista ja vaatimuksista, sekä lähijohtajana työskentelemisen parhaista puolista ja työn tarjoamista mahdollisuuksista. Haastateltavaa pyydettiin määrittelemään miten hän ymmärtää työhyvinvoinnin sekä kertomaan, mitä työhyvinvointi sosiaalityössä on. Muutosjohtamiseen liittyen kysyttiin mm. mitä muutoksia haastateltavan työyhteisössä on tapahtunut viimeisten kahden vuoden aikana. Haastateltavaa pyydettiin myös kuvailemaan työhyvinvoinnin ja muutosjohtamisen välistä suhdetta. Haastattelut toteutettiin käyttäen apuna ns. vahvuuskortteja, joita ei ole arkistoitu. "en": "The 2018 Alcohol and Drug Survey studied the substance use of Finnish adult population as well as attitudes and opinions on drugs and drug policies. Additionally, the survey charted legal drug or medicinal product abuse and use of performance-enhancing drugs (doping). The respondents were first asked about smoking and snus use. Alcohol use was charted by asking the respondents how often they drank and how much they tended to drink. The survey also carried a set of attitudinal statements about the health risks of different substances. The respondents were also asked if certain actions, such as polydrug use or growing cannabis plants, should be punishable by law. Regarding cannabis, the respondents were asked whether it should be legal to buy cannabis, and if it were legal, where it should be sold. The respondents' cannabis use was charted by asking them if they had used cannabis in the previous 12 months, and whether their cannabis use was recreational or medical. Ways of obtaining and using cannabis were investigated. The respondents were also asked if they knew people who grew cannabis or if they had grown cannabis themselves. The respondents were asked which illegal drugs they would try if using them was not illegal, and whether they personally knew people who used illegal drugs. They were also asked if someone had offered them illegal drugs, and how easily they thought they could obtain drugs within 24 hours. Concerning the respondents' own drug use, they were asked if they had ever used any of the various drugs listed, such as cocaine or LSD. The respondents' recent drug use was charted by asking which illegal drugs they had used during last 12 months and the last 30 days. Furthermore, the respondents were asked if drug use had ever caused difficulties in different areas of their life. One set of questions surveyed which legal drugs, if any, the respondents had used for non-medical purposes. Reasons for non-medical use of legal drugs were investigated. The respondents were also asked where they had obtained the drugs. Use of nitrous oxide and glues was examined. Polydrug use was investigated by asking the respondents which combinations of drugs they had used and what their reasons for using them were. Use of performance-enhancing drugs in sports (doping) was surveyed. Opinions on drug use were probed with several statements, such as \"Use of marijuana and hashish should be legal\". The respondents were also asked if they feared that other people's drug use could cause them physical harm, and whether they considered drugs or alcohol to be the bigger social problem in Finland. The most important sources of information on drugs for the respondents were surveyed. The respondents' health was charted by asking them if they had been prescribed different medicines, such as anti-depressants or opiates. The respondents were also asked if they attributed any health problems to their alcohol or drug use. Finally, the respondents were asked how often they engaged in physical activities. Background variables included the respondent's gender, age, type of municipality, marital status, household composition, education, and economic activity and occupational status.",

Kyselyllä kartoitettiin muun muassa vastaajien alkoholin käyttöä ja tupakointia. Lisäksi tiedusteltiin huumeisiin liittyviä asenteita kysymällä erilaisia väitekysymyksiä eriasteisesta päihdekäytöstä. Aineisto sisältää kysymyksiä vastaajien omasta huumeiden käytöstä ja käytön aiheuttamista mahdollisista ongelmista. Vastaajilta kysyttiin esimerkiksi, tuntevatko he huumeidenkäyttäjiä ja onko heille tarjottu huumeita. Edelleen oltiin kiinnostuneita, kuinka helppoa vastaajien mielestä erilaisia huumausaineita olisi hankkia. Kyselyssä selvitettiin ihmisten kokemuksia huumeiden näkyvyydestä Suomessa. Vastaajilta kysyttiin myös lääkkeistä ja niiden väärinkäytöstä. Kyselyn avulla saadaan tietoa muun muassa siitä, kuinka yleistä eri päihteiden samanaikainen käyttö on. Dopingaineiden käytöstä oli oma osionsa. Lopuksi tiedusteltiin vastaajien terveydentilasta, liikunnan harrastamisesta ja terveysongelmista. Taustamuuttujina ovat muun muassa sukupuoli, ikä, asuinpaikkatyyppi, perhetyyppi, koulutus ja työmarkkina-asema."
