Kyselyn alussa kartoitettiin yleisiä näkemyksiä avoimesta rinnakkaistallentamisesta. Kysyttiin, miten tärkeänä pidetään mahdollisuutta avoimeen julkaisemiseen, pyritäänkö julkaisuja julkaisemaan tällä periaatteella toimivissa lehdissä sekä edellyttääkö tutkimuksen rahoittaja avointa julkaisemista. Seuraavaksi keskityttiin avoimeen rinnakkaistallentamiseen Tampereen yliopiston julkaisuarkistoon, TamPubiin. Kysyttiin tunteeko vastaaja kyseisen arkiston ja onko hän tallentanut omia tekstitiedostojaan sinne. Mikäli vastaaja ei ollut tallentanut julkaisujaan TamPubiin, kysyttiin syitä tähän. Syitä olivat muun muassa lupa-asioiden vieraus, ajan puute sekä tallentamisen vaivalloisuus. Lisäksi kysyttiin tallentaako vastaaja julkaisujaan muihin avoimiin arkistoihin ja mihin. Lopussa kysyttiin vielä tekijänoikeusasioista, kuten onko vastaajalla tapana tutustua lehden tekijänoikeusehtoihin ennen artikkelin toimittamista lehteen. Taustamuuttujina ovat ikä, tieteenalayksikkö sekä asema yliopistossa."

"en": "The study charted the consumer choices and behaviour of students at the University of Tampere, Finland. Three areas of consumption were paid special attention to, namely, clothing, hobbies, and food. First, the respondents' life situations were surveyed as well as their attitudes towards consumption, for example, how much they thought about their consumer choices and what kind of consumers they thought they were. Readiness to engage in different forms of civic participation was investigated. Relating to clothing, the respondents were asked, for instance, how often they bought new or used clothes, what they wanted other people to think about them based on their appearance, whether they saw themselves as belonging to a certain group on the basis of the clothes they wore, and whether they thought that there were different groups at the university that were distinguishable by people's apperances. With regard to hobbies, the questions focused on the money spent on a hobby that was considered important by the respondents, whether they felt a sense of belonging with other people who had the same hobby, and what they wanted others to think about them based on the hobby. Spending and consumer choices relating to food were investigated by asking the respondents how much money they spent on household food purchases per week, what kind of reasons and principles affected their food purchases, whether they were able to follow these principles in their financial situations, and what they wanted others to think about them based on the choices they made regarding food purchases. The background variables included, among others, the respondent's gender, year of birth, department of study, living arrangements, financial situation, political party identification, membership in organizations, and the year when R started studies.",
"fi": "Tampereen yliopiston opiskelijoiden kulutusvalinnat 2011 -kysely kartoittaa opiskelijoiden kulutustottumuksia ja suhdetta erilaisiin kulutuspäätöksiin. Kyselyssä on painotettu erityisesti kolmea kuluttamisen osa-aluetta, pukeutumista, harrastuksia ja ruokaostoksia. Aluksi kysyttiin vastaajan taustatietoja ja elämäntilanteeseen vaikuttavia tekijöitä. Seuraavaksi vastaajia pyydettiin määrittelemään ajatuksiaan kuluttamisesta. Lisäksi kysyttiin kuluttajuudesta sekä kulutusvalintojen ja ostopäätösten tekemisestä. Myös vastaajan yhteiskunnallista osallistumista tiedusteltiin kuluttamiseen liittyvien tekojen perusteella. Ensimmäinen painotettu osa-alue, pukeutuminen, kartoitti vastaajan suhdetta vaatteisiin, muotiin ja tuotemerkkeihin. Kysyttiin vastaajan vaateostoksista ja siitä, mitä vastaaja haluaisi muiden ajattelevan hänestä ulkoisen olemuksen perusteella. Tällaisia mielikuvia olivat mm. luova ihminen, huomion herättäjä, paljon rahaa vaatteisiin käyttävä sekä urheilullinen henkilö. Lisäksi kysyttiin pukeutumisen perusteella ryhmään kuulumisesta ja tavoista ryhmitellä ihmisiä vaateiden ja tyylin mukaan. Vastaajat määrittelivät myös eri ryhmiä pukeutumisen perusteella yliopisto-opiskelijoiden keskuudessa. Harrastuksiin liittyvät kysymykset kartoittivat vastaajan harrastuksia ja niihin vuodessa käytettyä rahaa. Kysyttiin, millaisia mielikuvia harrastajaryhmään vastaaja uskoo liitettävän sekä kokeeko vastaaja yhteenkuuluvuutta harrastajien keskuudessa. Harrastuksiin liittyvissä kysymyksissä kysyttiin myös, miten vastaaja haluaisi muiden mieltävän hänet harrastuksensa perusteella, kuten akateeminen ihminen, kulutusyhteiskunnan vastustaja tai tehokas ihminen. Kolmas osio, ruokaostoksiin liittyvät kysymykset, käsitteli ruokaan liittyvien valintojen taustalla vaikuttavia syitä ja periaatteita sekä niiden toteutumisen mahdollisuuksista omassa taloudellisessa tilanteessa. Kysyttiin, paljonko vastaaja käyttää rahaa ruokaostoksiin viikon aikana. Lisäksi kysyttiin, mitä vastaaja haluaisi muiden ajattelevan hänestä ruokaan liittyvien valintojensa perusteella. Lopussa kysyttiin vielä järjestöihin kuulumisesta sekä vastaajan vanhempien sosiaalisesta ja yhteiskunnallisesta asemasta. Taustamuuttujina ovat sukupuoli, syntymävuosi, tiedekunta, opiskelujen aloitusvuosi, asumismuoto, puoluekanta, taloudellinen tilanne sekä elämäntilanne."

The respondents were managers or management groups of municipal social services offices, municipal health centres (primary health care), employment offices, local offices of the Social Insurance Institution of Finland (Kela), and chairs of municipal social services boards. There were separate questionnaires for each organisational sector, with somewhat differing questions for each. The questions common to all organisations studied perceptions of the organisational sector's performance in customer service (e.g. notifying about existing services, availability of services), welfare of population in the municipality, positive/negative developments in the circumstances of some population groups, significance of various actors and institutions in the welfare of citizens, and suitability of one-stop shops for public service provision. The questions not common to all organisations charted, among others, the financial situation of the organisational sector in the municipality, possibilities of ensuring service provision to citizens with the existing resources, human resources, plans to cut services or benefits, use made of opportunities provided by the Internet, service provision for people with low employment prospects and cooperation between organisational sectors to provide such services, participation in and outcomes of one-stop shops for service provision, and competitive tendering. Background variables included the respondent's organisational sector, area of responsibility, and education as well as the major region and type of municipality in which the organisation was located.",
"fi": "Sosiaalibarometrit kartoittavat laaja-alaisesti vastaajien organisaatioiden tilannetta ja palveluiden vastaavuutta organisaation toiminta-alueen asukkaiden tarpeisiin. Vuoden 2011 sosiaalibarometrissä vastaajina olivat kuntien sosiaalihuollon, Kansaneläkelaitoksen toimistojen, työ- ja elinkeinotoimistojen sekä terveyskeskuksien johtavissa asemissa olevat työntekijät. Vastaajilta kysyttiin organisaation henkilöstöresursseista mm. henkilökunnan määrän muutosta, henkilöstön riittävyyttä ja uusien työntekijöiden rekrytoinnin onnistuneisuutta. Kelan toimistoilta pyydettiin arvioita asiakaspalvelun eri osa-alueiden, kuten tiedottamisen ja neuvonnan, toimivuudesta toimistossa ja toimistoverkon muutosten seurauksista henkilöstön jaksamiseen. Kelan toimistoilta ja TE-toimistoilta kysyttiin myös verkkopalveluiden vaikutuksia asiakkaiden palveluun. Organisaatioiden toiminta-alueiden tilanteesta tiedusteltiin kuntien voimavarojen riittävyyttä palvelujen (mm. sosiaali- ja terveyspalvelujen) tuottamiseen sekä väestön hyvinvoinnin kokonaistilannetta. Vastaajilta kysyttiin, onko joidenkin väestöryhmien hyvinvoinnin tila kehittynyt myönteisesti tai heikentynyt alueella ja mikäli on, miksi. Sosiaalihuollon johdolta kysyttiin myös onko alueella karsittu sosiaalipalveluita tai onko karsintoja suunnitteilla. Seuraavaksi kartoitettiin hyvinvointia tuottavia tahoja. Vastaajilta kysyttiin, millaisena he näkivät eri tahojen, kuten omatoimisuuden, perheen, ystävien sekä eri järjestöjen ja organisaatioiden kuten Kelan ja kunnan sosiaalitoimen nykyisen ja tulevan merkityksen hyvinvoinnin toteuttamisessa. Mikäli vastaajat arvioivat ihmisten oman vastuun tulevaisuudessa suureksi, tiedusteltiin heiltä myös mitä se tarkoittaa käytännössä ja millaisia muutoksia se edellyttää palvelujärjestelmältä. Sosiaalijohdon, Kelan toimistojen, terveyskeskusten ja TE-toimistojen vastaajilta kysyttiin mielipidettä näiden tahojen yhteistyön toimimisesta heikossa työmarkkina-asemassa olevien palveluissa. Heikossa työmarkkina-asemassa oleviin liittyen kysyttiin myös, millä taholla tulisi vastaajien mielestä olla heistä ensisijainen kokonaisvastuu ja vaatiiko heidän palveluidensa työnjako selkiyttämistä. Lisäksi näiltä tahoilta tiedusteltiin, katsoivatko he että työvoiman palvelukeskusten toimintamallia tulisi laajentaa. Vastaajia pyydettiin kertomaan, näkivätkö he yhteispalvelupisteet toimivana ratkaisuna palveluiden saatavuuteen julkisia toimipisteitä karsittaessa sekä olivatko he mukana yhteispalvelupisteessä. Sosiaalijohdon, Kelan toimistojen ja TE-toimistojen edustajia pyydettiin myös arvioimaan yhteispalvelupisteiden toimivuutta ja palveluidensa sekä sosiaali- ja terveysjärjestöjen toiminnan soveltuvuutta yhteispalvelupisteisiin. Sosiaalihuollon ja terveyskeskusten edustajilta kysyttiin myös sosiaali- ja terveyspalveluiden kilpailuttamisen toteuttamisesta ja vaikutuksista omalla alueellaan. Palveluhankintoihin liittyen kysyttiin, oliko niissä käytetty kahden viime vuoden aikana neuvottelumenettelyä, suorahankintaa tai kumppanuussopimuksia. Näiltä tahoilta kysyttiin myös heidän mielipiteitään sosiaali- ja terveyspalvelujen rahoittamis- ja järjestämisvastuista sekä Kaste-ohjelman tärkeimmistä painopisteistä. Lisäksi sosiaalijohtoa, terveyskeskusten johtoa ja sosiaalihuollon lautakuntien puheenjohtajia pyydettiin kertomaan, miten he arvioivat sosiaali- ja terveyspalveluiden rakenteen vastaavan alueen pitkän aikavälin muutoshaasteisiin. Kelan toimistojen vastaajilta kysyttiin vielä, millä perustein he tutustuivat saamiinsa eri tahojen tutkimusraportteihin. Terveyskeskuksilta taas tiedusteltiin, olivatko he varautuneet uuden terveydenhuoltolain antamaan asiakkaan mahdollisuuteen valita haluamansa terveyskeskuksen ja terveydenhuollon ammattilaisen. Taustatietoina olivat vastaajan organisaatio, vastuualue, koulutustausta, organisaation sijaintialue ja alueen kuntaryhmitys."

Opinions were probed on, for instance, the so-called social guarantee (a project by the Ministry of Employment and the Economy to improve the employment of young people), municipal and public service reforms, and social security benefits. Background variables included, depending on the respondent's organisational sector, the respondent's area of responsibility, education, work experience in the managing position as well as the major region and type of municipality in which the organisation was located.",
"fi": "Sosiaalibarometrit ovat tutkimuksellisia ajankohtaisselvityksiä, joiden tarkoituksena on tuottaa mahdollisimman ajan tasalla olevaa tietoa hyvinvointipalvelujen, palvelujärjestelmän ja hyvinvoinnin tilanteesta ja niiden muutossuunnista. Vuoden 2012 Sosiaalibarometri-kyselyssä ajankohtaisteemoina ovat muun muassa nuorten yhteiskuntatakuu, kuntauudistus, kuntoutus ja huono-osaisuus. Lisäksi kyselyssä tarkastellaan sosiaalihuollon vaativan erityistason palvelujen järjestämisen, terveydenhuoltolain ja työvoiman palvelukeskusten toimintamallin teemoja. Kyselyssä vastaajina ovat kuntien sosiaalihuollon, Kansaneläkelaitoksen toimistojen, työ- ja elinkeinotoimistojen ja terveyskeskuksien johtavissa asemissa olevat työntekijät sekä sosiaalihuollon lautakuntien puheenjohtajat. Kyselyssä kartoitetaan laaja-alaisesti vastaajien taustaorganisaatioiden tilannetta. Ensimmäisenä teemana kyselyssä olivat voimavarat, palvelut ja hyvinvointi, joita kartoitettiin kysymällä taloudellisista resursseista, tietoisesta alibudjetoinnista ja resurssien kohdentamisesta tiettyihin palveluihin, kuten a-klinikkapalveluihin, sosiaalipäivystykseen tai vanhusten kotipalveluihin. Lisäksi vastaajilta pyydettiin arviota kansalaisten tarvitsemien palveluiden, kuten sosiaalipalveluiden, työ- ja elinkeinohallinnonpalveluiden sekä terveyspalveluiden, turvaamisesta nykyisillä resursseilla. Työ- ja elinkeinotoimiston edustajilta kysyttiin työvoiman palvelukeskus -toimintamallin myönteisistä ja kielteisistä puolista. Terveyskeskusten edustajilta kysyttiin tarkemmin terveyspalveluiden resursoinnista, tiedustelemalla onko palveluiden, kuten kotisairaanhoidon, fysioterapian tai suun terveydenhuollon, resursointia lisätty tai vähennetty vuoden 2012 talousarviossa. Seuraavaksi tarkasteltiin nuorten yhteiskuntatakuuta. Vastaajilta kysyttiin arviota nuorten yhteiskuntatakuun toteutumiseksi asetettujen tavoitteiden alueellisesta toteutumisesta sekä toteuttamiseksi valittujen keinojen tehosta. Lisäksi vastaajilta kysyttiin kokemuksia oman organisaation roolista nuorten yhteiskuntatakuun toteuttajana. Työ- ja elinkeinotoimiston edustajilta pyydettiin tarkemmin arviota nuorille suunnattujen palveluiden, kuten koulutusneuvonnan, ammatinvalinnanohjauksen tai oppisopimuskoulutuksen, vastaavuudesta toiminta-alueen nuorten tarpeisiin. Seuraavaksi kartoitettiin kuntauudistusta, palvelujen järjestämistä sekä rahoitusta sosiaalihuollon, terveyskeskusten ja sosiaalihuollon lautakuntien osalta. Vastaajilta kysyttiin kuntarakenteen muutosten tarpeellisuudesta ja toteutettavan muutoksen nopeudesta. Lisäksi heiltä kysyttiin erilaisten tavoite-, rakenne- ja rahoituslinjauksien kannattamisesta sosiaali- ja terveydenhuollon lainsäädännön uudistamisen kohdalla. Palvelujen järjestämiseen liittyen vastaajilta kysyttiin SGEI-palveluista, eli yleishyödyllisistä taloudellisista palveluista, niiden tuottajista ja palvelusopimuksiin sitoutumisesta. Sosiaalihuollon edustajilta kysyttiin vielä tarkemmin sosiaalihuollon vaativan erityistason palveluiden, kuten adoptiopalveluiden, erityistason päihdehuollon tai erityisryhmien laitoshoidon, rahoittamisesta ja tuottamisesta. Kuntoutusta kartoitettiin esittämällä kysymyksiä erilaisten seikkojen, kuten sosiaalisen kuntoutuksen, terveydenhuollon lääkinnällisen kuntoutuksen ja Kelan lääkinnällisen kuntoutuksen, toteutumisesta vastaajan organisaation toiminta-alueella asiakkaiden kannalta. Lisäksi vastaajilta pyydettiin arviota väestöryhmistä, jotka jäävät tarvitsemansa kuntoutuksen ulkopuolelle. Lopussa vastaajilta kysyttiin vielä näkemyksiä huono-osaisuudesta kohdistaen kysymykset toimeentulotukiasiakkaisiin, työttömiin sekä sosiaalipoliittisiin ratkaisuihin. Vastaajat saivat myös määritellä miksi Suomessa elää ihmisiä köyhyydessä. Taustatietoina ovat vastaajaryhmästä riippuen muun muassa vastaajan organisaatio, virassaolo aika, koulutustausta, alueellinen kuntaryhmitys ja organisaation sijaintialue."

"en": "The main themes of the survey included differences between population groups, the so-called local labour agreements (increased freedom and flexibility for employers and employees to agree on the terms of employment locally), economic decline in Finland, globalisation, Finnish foreign policy, the EU and eurozone, and civic participation. First, the respondents were asked to what extent they agreed with a large number of statements relating to, for instance, political parties and the political system, globalisation, employment, trade unions and strikes, economic growth and markets, taxation, changes in society, immigration and refugees, Finland's foreign relations, terrorism, the EU and the eurozone, and NATO membership. The respondents were asked how strong they thought tensions/conflicts between different groups were (e.g. employers - employees, the rich - the poor, the highly-educated - the poorly-educated, native Finns - immigrants). Happiness with life was investigated. Relating to the discussion about increasing the flexibility of labour agreements, the respondents were asked where the agreements about various work-related issues, such as wages and working time, should be made (at the level of the workplace, at the union level or at the national level). Opinions on the barriers to the improvement of the Finnish economy were charted. The respondents' international connections and relations were examined by asking, for instance, whether the respondents had ever been abroad, whether they personally knew any foreigners living in Finland, and whether they spoke foreign languages. The potential future developments of the EU and the EMU that the respondents hoped to see happen in the following 10 years were surveyed (e.g. dissolution of the EU, Finland quitting the euro, the development of the EU into a federation). Relating to Finland's foreign policy, the respondents were asked how much weight should be given to different issues (e.g. fight against terrorism, relations with Russia, Nordic defence cooperation, combating climate change). Further questions relating to the European Union were asked, charting interest in matters related to Finland's EU membership as well as opinions on Finland's EU membership and the currency change to the euro. The respondents were also asked whether the EMU membership and the euro were advantageous or disadvantageous to Finland in the economic situation at the time of the survey, whether Finland had supported EU countries with economic problems too little or too much, and whether the respondents would have voted for or against Finland's EU membership if a referendum had been held at the time of responding. Finally, opinions were charted on the impact of different things and phenomena (e.g. social media, populism, citizens' initiatives) on the respondents' civic participation. Background variables included the respondent's gender, year of birth, region of residence (NUTS3), basic and vocational education, economic activity and occupational status, industry of employment, political party choice if parliamentary elections were held at the time of survey, membership in a trade union, self-perceived social class, and number of inhabitants in the municipality of residence.",

Teemoina ovat eri väestöryhmien edut, paikallinen sopiminen, Suomen talouden alamäki, kansainvälistyminen, toiveet eräiden tapahtumien ja kehityskulkujen toteutumisesta seuraavan 10 vuoden aikana, Suomen ulkopolitiikan painotukset, EU, euro ja EMU, sekä yhteiskunnallinen osallistuminen. Aluksi esitettiin useita väittämiä yhteiskunnan eri alueilta. Väittämät käsittelivät muiden muassa globalisaatiota, väestön ikääntymistä, maahanmuuttoa, ilmaston muutosta, Euron kriisiä, valtion velkaa, tuloeroja, maailmankauppaa, EU:a, verotusta, yrittäjyyttä, pakolaisia, yhteiskuntasopimusta ja keskitettyä työmarkkinasopimusta. Lisäksi kysyttiin vastaajien onnellisuudesta. Seuraavaksi vastaajia pyydettiin ottamaan kantaa eri väestöryhmien välillä esiintyviin jännitteisiin. Heille esitettiin vastinpareja väestöryhmistä ja kysyttiin, millaisia jännitteitä niiden välillä esiintyy. Paikallista sopimista käsittelivät kysymykset siitä, millä tasolla työmarkkinoihin liittyvistä asioista pitäisi sopia. Esitettiin myös useita työmarkkinoihin liittyviä asioita ja vallitsevia käytäntöjä sekä kysyttiin, missä määrin ne estävät Suomen taloustilanteen kohenemista. Vastaajien kansainvälisyyttä käsittelivät kysymykset matkustamisesta ulkomailla, kielitaidosta ja ulkomaisista ystävistä. EU:a ja euroa käsiteltiin esittämällä joitakin mahdollisia tulevia tapahtumia ja kehityskulkuja ja kysymällä, miten toivottavina vastaajat niitä pitivät. Lisäksi haluttiin tietää, millaisia painotuksia vastaajat toivoivat Suomen ulkopolitiikalle. Taustamuuttujia olivat peruskoulutus, ammatillinen koulutus, ammattiryhmä, toimiala, poliittinen suuntautuneisuus, kuuluminen ammatilliseen keskusjärjestöön, yhteiskuntaluokka, syntymävuosi, asuinmaakunta ja asuinpaikkakunnan koko."

"en": "The data were collected as part of a project conducted by university students during an advanced studies course in political science. The survey charted the values and social attitudes of students in the University of Tampere. The respondents' political interest, participation and awareness were surveyed as well as their views of citizens' ability to influence politics. Values and attitudes were investigated by presenting the respondents several statements relating to, for example, same-sex marriage, nuclear power, income disparity, the European Union, sentences for violent crime, NATO membership, refugees and immigration, privatisation of public services, cuts to public spending, taxation, abortion, and use of fossil fuels. Background variables included the respondent's gender, year of birth, marital status, field of study, school (faculty), membership in a student association, satisfaction with own financial circumstances as well as type of accommodation, type of municipality of residence, parents' political party choice in R's childhood, and type of degree R was doing during the survey (e.g. Bachelor's, Master's, PhD).",
"fi": "Aineistossa kartoitetaan Tampereen yliopiston opiskelijoiden yhteiskunnallisia arvoja ja asenteita sekä esimerkiksi talouspoliittisia ja moraalisia näkemyksiä. Kysely on toteutettu opiskelijaprojektina osana syventävää maisterivaiheen kurssia. Kyselyssä tiedusteltiin aluksi poliittista kiinnostusta ja osallistumista sekä demokratian toimivuutta ja luottamusta poliitikkoihin. Lisäksi kysyttiin, mitä puoluetta vastaaja äänestäisi vuoden 2015 eduskuntavaaleissa. Seuraavaksi esitettiin erilaisia Suomea koskevia väittämiä, jotka liittyivät erityisesti vastaajan moraalisiin käsityksiin. Opiskelijoilta kysyttiin muun muassa samaa sukupuolta olevien avioliitosta, valtion sääntelystä, ydinvoimasta, kannabiksen rangaistavuudesta, Euroopan unionista, tuloeroista ja monikulttuurisuudesta. Kyselyssä kartoitettiin myös mielipiteitä koskien toimeentuloa ja sosiaaliturvaa, tasa-arvoa, turvapaikanhakijoita ja maahanmuuttoa, alkoholilainsäädäntöä, verotusta ja fossiilisten polttoaineiden käyttöä. Taustamuuttujia ovat muun muassa sukupuoli, syntymävuosi, siviilisääty, asumismuoto ja koti- ja asuinpaikka. Lisäksi taustatietoina on kysytty tutkintoa, tieteenalayksikköä, koulutusalaa, ainejärjestöön kuulumista, elämäntilannetta ja taloudellista tilannetta sekä vanhempien äänestyskäyttäytymistä opiskelijan lapsuudessa."

"en": "The survey studied Finnish women's opinions and experiences on family planning services. The aim of the research was to chart possible problems with the family planning system of the time, and to gather useful information for improving the services. The study was conducted by researchers of the National Research and Development Centre for Welfare and Health (STAKES) in collaboration with researchers from the University of Tampere and the University of Kuopio. The respondents were asked about the birth control methods they used, the costs of these methods, and whether the costs had affected their use of such methods. Familiarity with different birth control methods was charted. The respondents were also asked how often they had visited a health care professional due to matters related to birth control during the past year. Opinions on which type of health care professional the respondents would like to visit in birth control related issues were probed. The respondents were also asked questions about their last visit to a health care professional in birth control related matters. Next, the respondents were asked if they had ever had an abortion. Respondents who had had an abortion were asked about it. Views and experiences on maternity clinic were also investigated. The respondents were asked about their experiences with childlessness, infertility, and methods used to treat infertility. Lastly, they were asked which pregnancy and birth control related services should be funded by taxes and provided without charge to the user. Background variables included the respondent's year of birth, economic activity and employment status, industry of employment, state of health, diagnosed diseases or medical conditions, and the degree of urbanisation of the home municipality.",
"fi": "Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin suomalaisten naisten käsityksiä, kokemuksia ja mielipiteitä perhesuunnittelupalveluista. Tutkijat pyrkivät kartoittamaan mahdollisia ongelmakohtia silloisessa järjestelmässä ja saamaan tietoa palveluiden parantamiseksi tulevaisuudessa. Tutkimuksen toteuttivat STAKESin tutkijat yhteistyössä Tampereen ja Kuopion yliopistojen tutkijoiden kanssa. Kyselylomake sisälsi kysymyksiä raskauden ehkäisystä, raskauksista, synnytyksistä, raskaudenkeskeytyksistä ja lapsettomuudesta. Vastaajilta kysyttiin myös palveluiden käytöstä, laadusta ja saatavuudesta ja kenen ja miten heidän mielestään pitäisi hoitaa perhesuunnittelun eri osa-alueita ja kenen he haluaisivat hoitavan heitä itseään. First, the respondents were asked what media equipment (e.g. newspapers, radio, television, mobile phone, music players, video game consoles, computers) they had access to at home or somewhere else, and how often the respondents used them. They were also asked if a variety of media-related services were offered in their community/neighbourhood (e.g. libraries, movie theatres, internet cafés). In addition, the survey examined respondents' opinions on a variety of statements relating to matters such as media skills, rules for media use in the family, interest in media content, and fandom. Next, the respondents were asked which media they used for information-seeking regarding schoolwork, practical everyday matters such as timetables or the weather, current events and politics, puberty and sexuality, products and services, and which media they used for e.g. contacting relatives and friends, searching for a romantic partner, or contacting celebrities. They were also asked if they used media together with their families, friends, partners or virtual friends. It was asked if the respondents published their opinions via different media channels about social, political, cultural and environmental matters or human rights matters. The respondents were also asked if they would have liked to publish their opinions more often and why they had not done so. In addition to publishing opinions, they were asked if they published their own creative content, such as text, music, drawings, videos or computer programmes. Regarding media literacy, opinions were examined on the reliability and truthfulness of news articles, television programmes, internet pages, and advertisements. It was also surveyed whether the respondents thought that young people should be discussed more often in the media. They were also asked if the media often portrayed a distorted image of foreign countries and cultures. Next, the respondents' interest in a variety of themes was examined (both in \"factual\" and in \"fictional\" media), along with whether they published opinions or content regarding these themes or discussed them with other people (the themes included e.g. news, politics and society, the environment, human rights, sports, beauty and fashion, art, science, history, technology, and celebrities). The respondents were also asked if they had ever been interviewed for a newspaper article, a radio or television programme or some other medium, and to what extent it was possible for young people to have their opinions heard. The survey also charted respondents' experiences of limitations set on media use by e.g. governmental authorities or legislation, religion, school, family or friends. Finally, the respondents' internet use was surveyed with regard to how often they used the internet in different places (e.g. at school, at home, at a friend's home, in public or on a mobile phone) and for different purposes (e.g. information-seeking, e-mail, shopping, instant messaging, social media, gaming, or watching videos/movies). The respondents' mobile phone use was also examined with regard to how often they used a mobile phone for phone calls, SMS messages, gaming, listening to music or radio, using the internet, taking photos and watching videos, among others. Background variables included age, gender, country, type of neighbourhood, parents' occupations (categorised), ethnic group as well as the language spoken at home and the language used for responding to the questionnaire (mother tongue/English).",
"fi": "Aineiston tarkoituksena on kartoittaa nuorten mediaosallistumista. Nuorilta kysyttiin muun muassa median henkilökohtaisesta, sosiaalisesta ja julkisesta käytöstä sekä medialukutaidosta. Nuorilta kysyttiin myös muun muassa yhteiskunnallisia asioita, politiikkaa, kulttuuria, ympäristöasioita ja ihmisoikeuskysymyksiä koskevien mielipiteiden julkaisemisesta mediassa, kuten lehdissä, televisiossa, videoilla, radiossa, internetin keskusteluryhmissä, yhteisöpalveluissa tai muilla sivuistoilla tai puhelimen kautta. Nuorilta kysyttiin vielä, olisivatko he halunneet julkaista mielipiteitään enemmän kuin olivat tähän mennessä julkaisseet ja miksi julkaiseminen oli jäänyt haluttua vähemmälle. Mielipiteiden julkaisemisen lisäksi tiedusteltiin, julkaisevatko nuoret omia (luovia) tuotoksiaan, kuten tekstejä, musiikkia, piirustuksia, videoita tai tietokoneohjelmia esimerkiksi jossakin edellä luetelluista medioista. Lisäksi haluttiin saada selville, ovatko vastaajat julkaisseet mielipiteitään mediassa erilaisin keinoin, kuten kirjoittamalla lehtijuttuja, nettiadresseja tai blogia, tekemällä ohjelmia radioon tai televisioon tai julkaisemalla videoita esimerkiksi Youtubessa. Medialukutaitoon liittyen kartoitettiin nuorten mielipiteitä muun muassa lehtiuutisten, televisio-ohjelmien, internetsivujen ja mainosten luotettavuudesta ja todenmukaisuudesta. Lisäksi pyydettiin mielipiteitä esimerkiksi siitä, tulisiko mediassa olla enemmän esillä nuorten elämää käsitteleviä aiheita ja siitä, antaako media usein väärän kuvan vieraista maista ja kulttuureista. Seuraavaksi nuorilta kysyttiin, seuraavatko he eri aihepiirejä asia- ja fiktiivisessä mediassa, sekä keskustelevatko he aiheista muiden ihmisten kanssa. Aihepiireiksi lueteltiin muun muassa uutiset, politiikka ja yhteiskunta, ympäristö- ja ihmisoikeuskysymykset, urheilu ja kuntoilu, kauneus ja muoti, taide, tiede, historia, teknologia sekä julkisuuden henkilöt. Lisäksi tiedusteltiin, rajoittavatko tietyt tahot, kuten poliittiset vallanpitäjät, uskonto, koulu, perhe tai ystävät vastaajien mediankäyttöä. Lopuksi kartoitettiin nuorten internetin käyttöä: kuinka usein he käyttävät internetiä eri paikoissa, kuten kotona, koulussa, kaverin luona, julkisessa paikassa tai kännykän kautta, sekä kuinka usein he käyttävät internetiä esimerkiksi etsiäkseen tietoa eri asioista, käyttääkseen sähköpostia, pikaviestiohjelmia tai yhteisöpalveluita, pelatakseen pelejä tai katsoakseen videoita tai elokuvia. "en": "The survey investigated religiosity and church membership of Finnish people as well as their participation in parish activities. Questions about faith, matters related to spirituality, religious communities, and family were asked. The respondents were first asked whether they were members of a church or other religious community. Those who were members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland were asked the importance of certain reasons for the Church membership (e.g. the possibility to participate in Church service, the Church teaches Christian love of one's neighbour) and whether they had considered quitting the Church. Those who were not members of the Church were asked whether they had previously quit the Church, what their reasons for quitting had been, whether they had considered joining the Church. Participation in congregational and spiritual life was charted with questions focusing on, among others, how often the respondents participated in church services, the Eucharist or other spiritual events and how often they prayed, read the Bible, watched or listened to religious programmes on TV or radio, and visited web sites related to religion or the Church. A number of questions surveying satisfaction with the parish, its services, and communication were presented. The respondents were also requested to estimate how well certain adjectives described the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, using pairs of opposite adjectives (e.g. spiritual-secularised, tolerant-intolerant). Opinions on the development of the Church were examined. The respondents were asked to what extent they agreed with statements such as \"the Church should, above all, focus on helping the less fortunate\" and \"the Church should take a stronger stance for marriage and family\", whether they would've been prepared to pay more church tax to maintain parish services, and how much they had given to charity in the previous year. Regarding the religion in the society and the relationship between church and state, the respondents were asked opinions on religious things supported and maintained by the state as well as responsibilities and rights of the Church. Views were probed on the belief in God as well as the firmness of belief in a number of religious tenets and phenomena (e.g. the virgin birth of Jesus, Heaven, the Last Judgement). The respondents' religious identity was examined by asking whether they saw themselves as, for instance, religious, spiritual, materialistic, Christian, Lutheran, believing, born-again Christian, religious conservative, humanist, pagan, atheist or agnostic. Membership in revivalist movement or Lutheran community was queried as well as views on religious pluralism. The respondents' religious upbringing was investigated by asking about, for example, the recital of bedtime prayer, observation of Sabbath and discussions about religious matters in the respondent's childhood home. The respondents were further asked whether they had received a religious upbringing from family members (e.g. mother, father, grandparents), and whether they intended to give their own children a religious upbringing. Attitudes towards the members of different religious communities and irreligious movements were charted as well as opinions on the use of religious symbols in public. A number of questions charting the respondents' values were presented (e.g. same-sex marriage, same-sex relationships, and ordination of women). Questions investigating trust in institutions and opinions on national identity, equality, and ways to connect with God were presented. The respondents were asked about their religious or supernatural experiences as well as their notions and views of Jesus, the Bible and the afterlife. Finally, interest in spirituality and belief in UFOs, alternative medicine, reincarnation, and fortune-telling were investigated. Background variables included, among others, the respondent's age, gender, marital status, economic activity and occupational status, education, region of residence, municipality type, household composition, Internet use, and political party choice as well as monthly income of the household.",

Osallistumista seurakunnan toimintaan ja hengelliseen elämään kartoitettiin kysymällä, kuinka usein vastaajat mm. osallistuvat jumalanpalvelukseen, kirkolliseen toimitukseen (kaste, häät, hautajaiset), kirkkokonserttiin tai muuhun hengelliseen tapahtumaan. Tiedusteltiin myös, kuinka usein vastaajat rukoilevat, lukevat Raamattua ja seuraavat hengellisiä tai uskonnollisia ohjelmia radiosta tai TV:stä. Vastaajia pyydettiin arvioimaan seurakunnan viestintätapoja sekä sitä, miten evankelis-luterilainen seurakunta on suoriutunut tehtävistään. Seuraavaksi vastaajat punnitsivat vastakkaisia adjektiivipareja sen mukaan, kuinka hyvin ne kuvaavat Suomen evankelis-luterilaista kirkkoa. Vastaajille esitettiin erilaisia väitelauseita kirkon kehittämisestä esim. että kirkon pitäisi keskittyä entistä enemmän puhtaasti hengellisiin tehtäviinsä, olla nykyistä suvaitsevampi seksuaalivähemmistöjä kohtaan, uudistaa rohkeammin oppejaan sekä tukea nykyistä määrätietoisemmin maahanmuuttajia. Tämän jälkeen selvitettiin, olisivatko vastaajat valmiita maksamaan enemmän kirkollisveroa seurakunnan toiminnan säilyttämiseksi. Kysyttiin myös arvioita, kuinka paljon vastaajat antoivat rahaa hyväntekeväisyyteen vuoden aikana. Edelleen tiedusteltiin, miten vastaajat suhtautuvat tilanteisiin, joissa valtio tukee tai ylläpitää uskontoon liittyviä asioita Suomessa, kuten uskonnonopetukseen kouluissa tai suvivirren lauluun koulujen päättäjäisissä. Henkilökohtaiseen uskoon ja omaan perheeseen liittyen tiedusteltiin uskoa muiden muassa Jumalan olemassaoloon, taivaaseen, helvettiin, enkeleihin ja johonkin korkeampaan voimaan. Kysyttiin myös kuulumisesta erilaisiin herätysliikkeisiin tai luterilaisiin yhteisöihin sekä omasta uskonnollisuudesta ja henkisyydestä. Samoin tiedusteltiin vastaajien vanhemmiltaan, isovanhemmiltaan tai kummiltaan mahdollisesti saamasta uskonnollista kasvatuksesta. Kysyttiin myös, aikoivatko vastaajat antaa omille lapsilleen uskonnollista kasvatusta, opettaa iltarukouksen ja lukea rukouksia kotona. Muihin uskonnollisiin yhteisöihin liittyen tiedusteltiin vastaajien mielikuvia eri yhteisöjen jäsenistä ja mielipiteitä uskonnollisten ulkoisten tunnusmerkkien käytöstä. Lisäksi kysyttiin, kuinka vastaajat suhtautuvat kahden samaa sukupuolta olevan aikuisen sukupuolisuhteeseen, sukupuolineutraaliin avioliittolakiin ja naispappeuteen. Lopuksi kartoitettiin näkemyksiä julkisesta vallasta, luottamuksesta esimerkiksi eduskuntaan ja tuomioistuimiin, suomalaisuudesta ja eri ihmisryhmien tasa-arvosta. Tiedusteltiin myös vastaajien käsityksiä Jeesuksesta, Raamatusta, jumalyhteydestä, yliluonnollisista kokemuksista ja siitä, mitä tapahtuu kuoleman jälkeen. Taustamuuttujina olivat muun muassa tiedot vastaajan iästä, sukupuolesta, siviilisäädystä, lasten lukumäärästä, ammattiryhmästä, koulutuksesta, tuloista, asuinläänistä ja paikkakuntatyypistä."

The public employment agencies (TE Offices) and Centres for Economic Development, Transport and the Environment (ELY Centres) located in the region of the open vacancies are also included in the data. "en": "The object of the survey was to chart the first impressions that new university and polytechnic students had about beginning their studies. The survey examined the respondents' views on things related to starting in their new school, such as moving out of their childhood home, learning to live on their own, beginning of their studies, tutoring, student events and alcohol use in student events. Furthermore the respondents' views on their own capability in this new life situation were investigated. All students who began their studies in higher educational institutions in Finland in the fall of 2015 were eligible for the survey. The first part of the survey charted moving and living conditions of the respondents by asking if they had moved out of their childhood home and/or hometown because of their studies. The respondents were also asked to evaluate how difficult things relating to living, such as finding an apartment and housekeeping were for them. In the next part, the respondents were asked how difficult they found things relating to school and student community, such as getting to know other students or doing their first actual schoolwork. The respondents were also asked about their views on the usefulness of student tutoring. In the third part, the respondents were asked about their opinion on student events and parties. This was followed by several questions about alcohol use in conjunction with student events. In the last part of the survey, the respondents were asked to evaluate their life management skills in areas such as time management and stress control. The background variables were the respondents' gender, age, and place of study.",

Lisäksi kysyttiin, miten hyvin opiskelijat kokivat selviytyvänsä elämän eri osa-alueilla ja mitä pidettiin keskeisimpänä haasteena uutena opiskelijana, uudessa elämäntilanteessa. "en": "This study charted Finnish-speaking upper secondary school students' opinions on the Economics course YH2 and the textbooks used during the course, as well as views on how the course relates to such themes as sustainable development and economic growth. First, the respondents' general interest in matters such as the economy, domestic and international news and party politics were examined. Next, the respondents were asked how useful, practical or interesting they thought the course was in general. They were asked to evaluate the effect of the course on making the students think about sustainable development and understanding it. The respondents were also asked if it was possible to combine economic growth and ecologically sustainable development, and they were asked to give reasons for their opinion. Next, the respondents were presented with a set of statements regarding economic growth, market economy and sustainable development, such as \"Economic growth is a good thing\", \"Consumer choices direct industry to act more ethically\", \"It is possible to sustain economic growth in the long run\", and \"Wealth is a consequence of being diligent, creative, smart and industrious\". Opinions on economic decision-making carried out by economists and politicians were also examined, e.g. with regard to whether or not politicians should consider the opinions of experts when making decisions related to the economy. Questions about teaching and the textbook used during the course charted their practicality, and it was asked whether or not topics were discussed from varying perspectives. Finally, the respondents were asked if the economics course should contain more topics concerning ethics in economic life, the global/national perspective or the individual's perspective. Background variables included the respondent's gender, type of the municipality in which the respondent's school is located and the textbook used during the course.",
"fi": "Tutkimuksessa kartoitettiin suomenkielisten lukio-opiskelijoiden mielipiteitä lukion taloustiedon kurssista ja sen aikana käytetyistä oppikirjoista, sekä ajatuksia kurssin suhteesta muun muassa kestävään kehitykseen. Aluksi vastaajilta kysyttiin kuinka kiinnostuneita he ovat esimerkiksi yhteiskunnallisista asioista tai puoluepolitiikasta yleisesti. Seuraavaksi vastaajilta tiedusteltiin kuinka hyödyllisenä tai mielenkiintoisena he pitivät lukion taloustiedon kurssia kokonaisuudessaan. Vastaajia pyydettiin arvioimaan kurssin vaikutusta kestävän kehityksen teemojen ymmärtämiseen, sekä myös perusteltua vastausta siihen, onko talouskasvun ja ekologisesti kestävän kehityksen yhdistäminen vastaajan mielestä ylipäätään mahdollista. Seuraavaksi vastaajilta tiedusteltiin mielipiteitä erilaisista väittämistä, kuten Talouskasvu on hyvä asia. Myös mielipiteitä taloustieteilijöiden ja poliitikkojen taloudellisesta päätöksenteosta ja sen toimivuudesta kyseltiin. Taloustiedon kurssilla käytetystä oppikirjasta sekä opiskelusta kurssin aikana ylipäätään kysyttiin pyytämällä arvioimaan esimerkiksi oppikirjan käytännönläheisyyttä sekä erilaisten näkökulmien määrää. Lopuksi vastaajia pyydettiin arvioimaan, pitäisikö taloustiedon kurssin sisältää esimerkiksi eettistä pohdintaa sekä miettimään, minkälainen taloustiedon kurssin pitäisi heidän mielestään olla. Taustatietoina tutkimuksessa käytettiin opiskelijan sukupuolta, koulua sekä kurssilla käytetyn oppikirjan nimeä."

"en": "The survey charted the extent of unrecorded alcohol consumption and production in Finland. First, the respondents were asked how often they drank alcohol and whether they had consumed pure, home-made or smuggled alcohol in the previous 12 months. Those who had produced alcohol themselves were asked to state the amount (in litres) they had produced in the previous 12 months. Some questions focused on what percentage of the respondent's total alcohol consumption consisted of home-made, smuggled or privately imported alcohol. The respondents were asked whether they knew someone who had smuggled pure alcohol/spirits or had produced moonshine (home-made illegal alcohol). Questions also covered whether someone had offered to sell the respondents these kinds of alcohol and how many litres they had bought in the previous 12 months. The respondents were asked how many trips or cruises abroad they had made and how often as well as how many litres and what kind of alcohol products they themselves had imported. The respondents' total alcohol consumption was charted, including what percentage consisted of privately imported alcoholic beverages or of alcohol consumed abroad. Background variables included the respondent's gender, age, basic education, vocational education, economic activity and occupational group, employment status, annual gross income of the household, number and age of household members, household composition, province of residence, municipality type, occupational group of household head, primary and secondary choice of political party if parliamentary elections had been held at the time of the survey, and party choice in the 2000 municipal elections.",

Edelleen tiedusteltiin, onko heille tarjottu ostettavaksi ja ovatko he itse ostaneet edellä mainittuja alkoholijuomia viimeisen 12 kuukauden aikana. Lisäksi kysyttiin, tuntevatko vastaajat jonkun, joka osaa valmistaa pontikkaa sekä osaavatko ja ovatko he viimeisen vuoden aikana itse valmistaneet sitä. Seuraavaksi kyseltiin ulkomailta tuotujen alkoholijuomien käytöstä. Vastaajilta tiedusteltiin, mitä alkoholijuomia ja kuinka paljon he ovat tuoneet ulkomailta tai laivaristeilyiltä. Sitten kysyttiin, kuinka monta ulkomaanmatkaa tai risteilyä vastaajat ovat tehneet, ja moneltako niistä he ovat tuoneet alkoholijuomia. Edelleen kysyttiin, paljonko tuodusta oluesta ja väkevistä alkoholijuomista oli Suomessa valmistettua. Lopuksi tiedusteltiin, kuinka monta litraa vastaajat ovat viimeksi kuluneena vuonna juoneet erilaisia alkoholijuomia sekä kuinka monta prosenttia niistä on tuotu ulkomailta tai juotu Suomen rajojen ulkopuolella. Taustamuuttujina olivat vastaajan sukupuoli, ikä, koulutus, talouden bruttotulot, perheenjäsenten lukumäärä, elinvaihe, ammattiryhmä, työelämään osallistuminen, asuinpaikkakunnan tyyppi, asuinlääni, onko vastaaja perheen päähenkilö, perheen päähenkilön ammatti, mitä puoluetta äänestäisi ensisijaisesti ja toissijaisesti, jos eduskuntavaalit olisivat nyt, ja mitä puoluetta äänesti vuoden 2000 kunnallisvaaleissa."

"en": "In this power structure survey, the Finnish power elite is under observation. The respondents were from the following sectors of society: politics, administration, business life, organisations, mass media, science and culture. The study focuses on institutional leadership positions and roles in the various sectors, not on the persons as such. There were 1,285 elite positions in 2001. The themes of the survey included, among others, career, internationalisation, interaction, power and childhood home. In view of the respondents' careers, they were asked their main occupation, eventual other occupations, positions of trust, membership in different organisations and unofficial groups, and factors affecting career development (e.g. childhood home, gender). Interaction was measured by presenting the respondents with a list of possible contact partners and asking them about the frequency and the nature of the contact. The listed contact partners included, among others, the president of Finland, political party organisations, ministries, municipalities, army, church, different organisations, institutions of higher learning, and enterprises. In addition, the respondents were asked how often they appear in the media and to what extent they keep in touch with their acquaintances from younger years on account of their occupation. Internationalisation was studied by asking whether the respondents had studied or worked abroad and if they had personal contacts with citizens of other countries. In relation to power, the respondents were asked what forms of communication they considered most important in view of their own organisations. The respondents were also asked to assess the influence of various bodies (the parliament, representatives of cultural life, the press, labour market organisations, the EU, etc.). Further questions covered the greatest problems in Finnish society and the degree of antagonism between various groups in Finland. The impact of the recession on decision-making was charted as well. The respondents were presented with a number of statements relating to society and asked whether they agree. Finally, in relation to childhood home, the survey inquired about the respondent's mother tongue, his/her parents' education, occupational group, elected offices and party preference. Background variables included, among others, the respondent's area of operation, gender, year of birth (categorised), province of residence, education, self-perceived social class, annual gross income and which political party the respondent would vote for if the parliamentary elections were held at that time.",

Tutkimuksen vastaajat olivat seuraavilta yhteiskunnan eri sektoreilta: politiikka, hallinto, elinkeinoelämä, järjestöt, joukkotiedotus, tiede ja kulttuuri. Tutkimus kohdistuu sektoreiden johtaviin institutionaalisiin asemiin, rooleihin, eikä niissä toimiviin henkilöihin sinänsä. Vuonna 2001 eliittiasemia oli 1285. Tutkimuksen teemoja olivat muun muassa ura, kansainvälistyminen, vuorovaikutus, vaikuttaminen sekä lapsuuden ja nuoruuden koti. Uraan liittyen vastaajilta kysyttiin päätointa ja mahdollisia muita toimia, luottamustehtäviä, jäsenyyttä eri järjestöissä ja epävirallisissa ryhmissä sekä urakehitykseen vaikuttavia tekijöitä (muun muassa lapsuudenkoti ja sukupuoli). Vuorovaikutusta mitattiin esittämällä haastatelluille lista yhteydenpitotahoista ja pyytämällä haastateltuja arvioimaan yhteydenpidon tiheys ja kertomaan yhteydenpidon luonne. Yhteydenpitotahoja olivat mm. tasavallan presidentti, puolue, ministeriöt, kunta, puolustusvoimat, kirkko, eri järjestöt, korkeakoulut ja yritykset. Lisäksi pyydettiin kertomaan, miten usein vastaaja esiintyy eri joukkotiedotusvälineissä ja missä määrin työnsä vuoksi on yhteydessä nuoruusvuosien tuttuihin. Kansainvälistymistä kartoitettiin kysymällä oliko vastaaja opiskellut tai työskennellyt ulkomailla ja oliko hänellä henkilökohtaisia kohtakteja ulkomaisiin tahoihin. Vaikuttamiseen liittyen kysyttiin, mitä yhteydenpidon muotoja vastaaja pitää tärkeimpinä oman organisaationsa kannalta. Vastaajia pyydettiin arvioimaan eri tahojen (eduskunta, kulttuurielämän edustajat, lehdistö, palkansaajajärjestöt, EU yms.) vaikutusvaltaa, suurimpia yhteiskunnallisia ongelmia ja eri ryhmien välisten vastakohtaisuuksien voimakkuuksia Suomessa. Laman vaikutuksia päätöksentekoon kartoitettiin myös. Vastaajille esitettiin joukko yhteiskuntaan liittyviä väittämiä, joihin heidän pyydettiin ottamaan kantaa. Lopuksi tiedusteltiin lapsuuden ja nuoruuden kotiin liittyen äidinkieltä, vanhempien koulutusta, ammattiryhmää, luottamustehtäviä ja puoluekantaa. Taustamuuttujina ovat vastaajan toimintasektori, sukupuoli, syntymävuosi, asuinlääni, koulutus, sijoittuminen yhteiskuntaluokkiin, bruttotulot sekä puolue, jota vastaaja äänestäisi, jos eduskuntavaalit olisivat nyt."

"en": "The survey charted the extent of unrecorded alcohol consumption and production in Finland. First, the respondents were asked how often they drank alcohol and whether they had used pure, home-made or smuggled alcohol in the previous 12 months. Those who had produced alcohol themselves were asked to state the amount (in litres) they had produced in the previous 12 months. Some questions focused on what percentage of the respondent's total alcohol consumption consisted of home-made, smuggled or privately imported alcohol. The respondents were asked whether they knew someone who had smuggled pure alcohol/spirits or had produced moonshine (home-made illegal alcohol). Questions also covered whether someone had offered to sell the respondents these kinds of alcohol and how many litres they had bought in the previous 12 months. The respondents were asked how many trips or cruises abroad they had made and how often as well as how many litres and what kind of alcohol products they themselves had imported. The respondents' total alcohol consumption was charted, including what percentage consisted of privately imported alcoholic beverages or of alcohol consumed abroad. Background variables included the respondent's gender, age, basic and vocational education, occupational group, employment status, annual gross income of the household, number of household members, household composition, province of residence, municipality type, occupational group of household head, primary and secondary choice of political party if parliamentary elections had been held at the time of the survey, and party choice in the 1996 municipal elections.",
"fi": "Kyselyssä kartoitettiin, kuinka paljon suomalaiset käyttävät itse tehtyjä tai ulkomailta tuotuja alkoholijuomia. Ensiksi vastaajilta tiedusteltiin, kuinka usein he nauttivat alkoholia. Seuraavaksi kartoitettiin kotitekoisten ja salakuljetettujen alkoholijuomien kulutusta. Vastaajilta kysyttiin, ovatko he nauttineet kotitekoisia alkoholijuomia, salakuljetettuja alkoholijuomia tai spriitä viimeksi kuluneiden 12 kuukauden aikana. Vastaajilta kysyttiin tuntevatko he jonkun, joka on ostanut tai jolta voisi ostaa salakuljetettuja väkeviä alkoholijuomia, spriitä tai pontikkaa. Edelleen tiedusteltiin, onko heille tarjottu ostettavaksi ja ovatko he itse ostaneet edellä mainittuja alkoholijuomia viimeisen 12 kuukauden aikana. Lisäksi kysyttiin, tuntevatko vastaajat jonkun, joka osaa valmistaa pontikkaa sekä osaavatko ja ovatko he viimeisen vuoden aikana itse valmistaneet sitä. Seuraavaksi kyseltiin ulkomailta tuotujen alkoholijuomien käytöstä. Vastaajilta tiedusteltiin, mitä alkoholijuomia ja kuinka paljon he ovat tuoneet ulkomailta tai laivaristeilyiltä. Sitten kysyttiin, kuinka monta ulkomaanmatkaa tai risteilyä vastaajat ovat tehneet, ja moneltako niistä he ovat tuoneet alkoholijuomia. Edelleen kysyttiin, paljonko tuodusta oluesta ja väkevistä alkoholijuomista oli Suomessa valmistettua. Lopuksi tiedusteltiin, kuinka monta litraa vastaajat ovat viimeksi kuluneena vuonna juoneet erilaisia alkoholijuomia sekä kuinka monta prosenttia niistä on tuotu ulkomailta tai juotu Suomen rajojen ulkopuolella. "en": "The survey charted the extent of unrecorded alcohol consumption and production in Finland. First, the respondents were asked how often they drank alcohol and whether they had used pure, home-made or smuggled alcohol in the previous 12 months. Those who had produced alcohol themselves were asked to state the amount (in litres) they had produced in the previous 12 months. Some questions focused on what percentage of the respondent's total alcohol consumption consisted of home-made, smuggled or privately imported alcohol. The respondents were asked whether they knew someone who had smuggled pure alcohol/spirits or had produced moonshine (home-made illegal alcohol). Questions also covered whether someone had offered to sell the respondents these kinds of alcohol and how many litres they had bought in the previous 12 months. The respondents were asked how many trips or cruises abroad they had made and how often as well as how many litres and what kind of alcohol products they themselves had imported. The respondents' total alcohol consumption was charted, including what percentage consisted of privately imported alcoholic beverages or of alcohol consumed abroad. Background variables included the respondent's gender, age, basic education, vocational education, economic activity and occupational group, employment status, annual gross income of the household, number and age of household members, household composition, province of residence, municipality type, occupational group of household head, primary and secondary choice of political party if parliamentary elections had been held at the time of the survey, and party choice in the 1999 parliamentary elections.",
"fi": "Kyselyssä kartoitettiin, kuinka paljon suomalaiset käyttävät itse tehtyjä tai ulkomailta tuotuja alkoholijuomia. Ensiksi vastaajilta tiedusteltiin, kuinka usein he nauttivat alkoholia. Seuraavaksi kartoitettiin kotitekoisten ja salakuljetettujen alkoholijuomien kulutusta. Vastaajilta kysyttiin, ovatko he nauttineet kotitekoisia alkoholijuomia, salakuljetettuja alkoholijuomia tai spriitä viimeksi kuluneiden 12 kuukauden aikana. Lisäksi kysyttiin, tuntevatko vastaajat jonkun, joka osaa valmistaa pontikkaa sekä osaavatko ja ovatko he viimeisen vuoden aikana itse valmistaneet sitä. Seuraavaksi kyseltiin ulkomailta tuotujen alkoholijuomien käytöstä. Vastaajilta tiedusteltiin, mitä alkoholijuomia ja kuinka paljon he ovat tuoneet ulkomailta tai laivaristeilyiltä. Sitten kysyttiin, kuinka monta ulkomaanmatkaa tai risteilyä vastaajat ovat tehneet, ja moneltako niistä he ovat tuoneet alkoholijuomia. Edelleen kysyttiin, paljonko tuodusta oluesta ja väkevistä alkoholijuomista oli Suomessa valmistettua. Lopuksi tiedusteltiin, kuinka monta litraa vastaajat ovat viimeksi kuluneena vuonna juoneet erilaisia alkoholijuomia sekä kuinka monta prosenttia niistä on tuotu ulkomailta tai juotu Suomen rajojen ulkopuolella. Taustamuuttujina olivat vastaajan sukupuoli, ikä, koulutus, talouden bruttotulot, perheenjäsenten lukumäärä, elinvaihe, ammattiryhmä, työelämään osallistuminen, asuinpaikkakunnan tyyppi, asuinlääni, onko vastaaja perheen päähenkilö, perheen päähenkilön ammatti, mitä puoluetta äänestäisi ensisijaisesti ja toissijaisesti, jos eduskuntavaalit olisivat nyt, ja mitä puoluetta äänesti vuoden 1999 eduskuntavaaleissa."

First, the respondents were asked how often they drank alcohol and whether they had used pure, home-made or smuggled alcohol in the previous 12 months. Those who had produced alcohol themselves were asked to state the amount (in litres) they had produced in the previous 12 months. Some questions focused on what percentage of the respondent's total alcohol consumption consisted of home-made, smuggled or privately imported alcohol. The respondents were asked whether they knew someone who had smuggled pure alcohol/spirits or had produced moonshine (home-made illegal alcohol). Questions also covered whether someone had offered to sell the respondents these kinds of alcohol and how many litres they had bought in the previous 12 months. The respondents were asked how many trips or cruises abroad they had made and how often as well as how many litres and what kind of alcohol products they themselves had imported. The respondents' total alcohol consumption was charted, including what percentage consisted of privately imported alcoholic beverages or of alcohol consumed abroad. Background variables included the respondent's gender, age, basic education, vocational education, economic activity and occupational group, employment status, annual gross income of the household, number and age of household members, household composition, province of residence, municipality type, occupational group of household head, primary and secondary choice of political party if parliamentary elections had been held at the time of the survey, and party choice in the 2000 municipal elections.",

Seuraavaksi kartoitettiin kotitekoisten ja salakuljetettujen alkoholijuomien kulutusta. Vastaajilta kysyttiin tuntevatko he jonkun, joka on ostanut tai jolta voisi ostaa salakuljetettuja väkeviä alkoholijuomia, spriitä tai pontikkaa. Edelleen tiedusteltiin, onko heille tarjottu ostettavaksi ja ovatko he itse ostaneet edellä mainittuja alkoholijuomia viimeisen 12 kuukauden aikana. Lisäksi kysyttiin, tuntevatko vastaajat jonkun, joka osaa valmistaa pontikkaa sekä osaavatko ja ovatko he viimeisen vuoden aikana itse valmistaneet sitä. Seuraavaksi kyseltiin ulkomailta tuotujen alkoholijuomien käytöstä. Vastaajilta tiedusteltiin, mitä alkoholijuomia ja kuinka paljon he ovat tuoneet ulkomailta tai laivaristeilyiltä. Sitten kysyttiin, kuinka monta ulkomaanmatkaa tai risteilyä vastaajat ovat tehneet, ja moneltako niistä he ovat tuoneet alkoholijuomia. Edelleen kysyttiin, paljonko tuodusta oluesta ja väkevistä alkoholijuomista oli Suomessa valmistettua. Lopuksi tiedusteltiin, kuinka monta litraa vastaajat ovat viimeksi kuluneena vuonna juoneet erilaisia alkoholijuomia sekä kuinka monta prosenttia niistä on tuotu ulkomailta tai juotu Suomen rajojen ulkopuolella. Taustamuuttujina olivat vastaajan sukupuoli, ikä, koulutus, talouden bruttotulot, perheenjäsenten lukumäärä, elinvaihe, ammattiryhmä, työelämään osallistuminen, asuinpaikkakunnan tyyppi, asuinlääni, onko vastaaja perheen päähenkilö, perheen päähenkilön ammatti, mitä puoluetta äänestäisi ensisijaisesti ja toissijaisesti, jos eduskuntavaalit olisivat nyt, ja mitä puoluetta äänesti vuoden 2000 kunnallisvaaleissa."
