"en": "This repository includes all codes needed in order to understand the processing pipeline from raw full pointclouds acquired by the Finnish Geospatial Institute (FGI) Lidar Phenology station (LiPhe) to single tree point clouds. The data processing pipeline includes point cloud normalization, registration and georeferencing, data resample, coarse-to-fine point cloud segmentation and tree parameters estimations (e.g. tree height). You can find an example input file including DTM for these processed, as well as a full single tree time series dataset produced by this process at https://doi.org/10.23729/0529d907-a10b-4a7a-92eb-b7b01c9486cf (LiPheKit_SampleData)."

"en": "Abstract Background Chitin, the main form of aminated polysaccharide in nature, is a biocompatible, polycationic, and antimicrobial biopolymer used extensively in industrial processes. Despite the abundance of chitin, applications thereof are hampered by difficulties in feedstock harvesting and limited structural versatility. To address these problems, we proposed a two-step cascade employing carbohydrate oxidoreductases and amine transaminases for plant polysaccharide aminations via one-pot reactions. Using a galactose oxidase from Fusarium graminearum for oxidation, this study compared the performance of CvATA (from Chromobacterium violaceum) and SpATA (from Silicibacter pomeroyi) on a range of oxidized carbohydrates with various structures and sizes. Using a rational enzyme engineering approach, four point mutations were introduced on the SpATA surface, and their effects on enzyme activity were evaluated. Results Herein, a quantitative colorimetric assay was developed to enable simple and accurate time-course measurement of the yield of transamination reactions. With higher operational stability, SpATA produced higher product yields in 36 h reactions despite its lower initial activity. Successful amination of oxidized galactomannan by SpATA was confirmed using a deuterium labeling method; higher aminated carbohydrate yields achieved with SpATA compared to CvATA were verified using HPLC and XPS. By balancing the oxidase and transaminase loadings, improved operating conditions were identified where the side product formation was largely suppressed without negatively impacting the product yield. SpATA mutants with multiple alanine substitutions besides E407A showed improved product yield. The E407A mutation reduced SpATA activity substantially, supporting its predicted role in maintaining the dimeric enzyme structure. Conclusions Using oxidase–amine transaminase cascades, the study demonstrated a fully enzymatic route to polysaccharide amination. Although the activity of SpATA may be further improved via enzyme engineering, the low operational stability of characterized amine transaminases, as a result of low retention of PMP cofactors, was identified as a key factor limiting the yield of the designed cascade. To increase the process feasibility, future efforts to engineer improved SpATA variants should focus on improving the cofactor affinity, and thus the operational stability of the enzyme. "en": "Abstract Estradiol (E2) is a hormone that influences various aspects of women’s health. Beyond its reproductive functions, E2 impacts neurotransmitter systems such as dopamine (DA). Vertically aligned carbon nanofibers (VACNFs) have shown good sensitivity, selectivity against ascorbic acid (AA) and uric acid (UA), biocompatibility, and reduced fouling in DA sensing. In this study, we explore the use of Ti-Ni-CNF electrodes with CNFs grown for 5 min and 30 min for the direct electrochemical co-detection of E2 and DA. The longer growth time led to a 142% increase in average CNF length and a 36% larger electroactive surface area. In E2 detection, the electrodes demonstrate a wide linear range of 0.05–10 µM and sensitivity of 0.016 and 0.020 µA/µM for Ti-Ni-CNF-5 min and Ti-Ni-CNF-30 min, respectively. The sensor performance remains largely unaffected even in the presence of other steroid hormones such as progesterone and testosterone. Co-detection of equimolar E2 and DA shows promising peak separation of 0.34 ± 0.01 V and repeatability after 10 measurements. A notable improvement in the E2/DA peak current ratio, from 0.53 ± 0.07 to 0.81 ± 0.16, was achieved with the increased CNF length. Our results demonstrate the influence of adsorption sites in electrochemical detection, especially for analytes such as E2 and DA that both rely on adsorption for oxidation. While detecting small and fluctuating physiological concentrations remains a challenge, these findings can be used in choosing and fabricating electrode materials for more accurate and accessible continuous hormone measurements, including the possibility of multianalyte sensing platforms. "en": "As a continuation of the work on verifying operando XAS fuel cell utilizing Pd@CeOx catalysts, we propose an operando XAS measurement of another core-shell Pd@TiOx material on Vulcan carbon as a hydrogen oxidation reaction (HOR) catalyst in fuel cells. Compared to bare Pd nanoparticles, the Pd@TiOx catalysts exhibit superior HOR performance in alkaline media. Further investigations indicate that the introduction of a TiOx shell onto Pd nanoparticles leads to a higher CO stripping area, indicating that TiOx shell promotes CO adsorbing and oxidation. Interestingly, this phenomenon does not occur on the Pd@CeOx catalysts where, contrary, a blocking effect is observed. These observations suggest that the Pd@TiOx catalysts may have different reaction mechanism compared to Pd@CeOx. To illustrate the reaction mechanism on Pd@TiOx, we will use Pd K- and Ti K-edges XANES and EXAFS at ID26 or ID24-DCM, in an electrochemical flow cell."

"en": "Context: As applications become more complex, the role of software testing tools is crucial for ensuring high-quality development and maintenance. Goal: This study aims to identify and evaluate key tools, shedding light on their advantages and disadvantages. The goal is to compile this information into a comprehensive reference guide, assisting developers in selecting the most suitable tool for specific testing scenarios, and enhancing efficiency. Method: We conducted a multivocal literature review and a survey involving professionals from various software development domains. The survey assessed participants' familiarity with identified tools and sought insights into the advantages and challenges influencing tool adoption decisions. Results: Findings revealed that many tools, some of the identified tools are well-known and others are not widely known or utilized. The study identified a set of most desired and most avoided characteristics in the selection of tools for projects. Conclusions: From an industry perspective, this research impacts the selection of the appropriate tool for specific contexts. It also impacts the ongoing investigation of software testing tools and decision-making processes in software development."

"en": "Data description: Near-continuous hourly video data was collected using a statically installed thermal infrared and RGB camera system during the ice-free channel seasons of 2023 and 2024 at two study sites in Finland: the Vantaanjoki River (Pitkäkoski site) and the Oulankajoki River. The dataset includes 30-second video clips from both thermal infrared and RGB cameras, featuring six consecutive hourly recordings captured during the spring and autumn periods of both years at each river site. These video samples were used to derive surface flow velocities using Large-Scale Particle Image Velocimetry (LSPIV) (Muste et al., 2008) and Space-Time Image Velocimetry (STIV) (Fujita et al., 2007) techniques and were validated against subsequent Acoustic Doppler Current Profiler (ADCP) measurements. In addition to the video data, the dataset contains a complete series of hourly river discharge estimates derived using the STIV technique. These discharge time series span the full ice-free channel seasons of 2023 and 2024 for both rivers. Daily discharges were computed from the hourly estimates and compared against national hydrological monitoring data (Ympäristö.fi, 2025). In addition, the following data is provided: Processed results of surface flow velocity and discharge computations, 1-dimensional bathymetry profiles obtained from ADCP depth measurements, Photogrammetric camera models and search lines for processing in Hydro-STIV software, Processed daily water level and discharge data from national hydrological monitoring stations, Flow velocity measurements obtained with ADCP. These datasets support the photogrammetric input required for the image velocimetry techniques (LSPIV and STIV) and facilitate comparative analyses with conventional flow measurement methods. "en": "MXenes represent one of the largest class of 2D materials with promising applications in many fields and their properties tunable by the surface group composition. Raman spectroscopy is expected to yield rich information about the surface composition, but the interpretation of measured spectra has proven challenging. The interpretation is usually done via comparison to simulated spectra, but there are large discrepancies between the experimental and earlier simulated spectra. In this work, we develop a computational approach to simulate Raman spectra of complex materials that combines machine-learning force-field molecular dynamics and reconstruction of Raman tensors via projection to pristine system modes. The approach can account for the effects of finite temperature, mixed surfaces, and disorder. We apply our approach to simulate Raman spectra of titanium carbide MXene and show that all these effects must be included in order to properly reproduce the experimental spectra, in particular the broad features. We discuss the origin of the peaks and how they evolve with surface composition, which can then be used to interpret experimental results. This record contains input files for MLFF training and production runs, information on the training set (atomic structures, energies and forces) and some of the molecular dynamics trajectories used to obtain Raman spectra."
