"en": "Motivated by the experimental progress in controlling the properties of the energy bands in superconductors, significant theoretical efforts have been devoted to study the effect of the quantum geometry and the flatness of the dispersion on the superfluid weight. In conventional superconductors, where the energy bands are wide and the Fermi energy is large, the contribution due to the quantum geometry is negligible, but in the opposite limit of flat-band superconductors the superfluid weight originates purely from the quantum geometry of Bloch wave functions.\r\n\r\nHere, we study how the energy band dispersion and the quantum geometry affect the disorder-induced suppression of the superfluid weight. In particular, we consider non-magnetic disorder and s-wave superconductivity. Surprisingly, we find that the disorder-dependence of the superfluid weight is universal across a variety of models, and independent of the quantum geometry and the flatness of the dispersion. Our results suggest that a flat-band superconductor is as resilient to disorder as a conventional superconductor.\r\n\r\nThe provided repository contains all code and data to reproduce the results of this study."

"fi": "Saamelaisen folkloren (kertomusperinteen) tutkimusprojekti, joka on edelleen toiminnassa. Projekti alkoi vuonna 1965 ja sen aktiivivaihe oli vuosina 1965–1975. Tutkimuksen pääkohteina olivat Suomen, Ruotsin ja Norjan Lapin alueet ja Utsjoella, Tenojoen varressa sijaitseva Talvadaksen (Dálvadas) kylä sekä sen lähikylät Nuvvus, Aittijoki ja Porta. Yhteydenpito ja kenttätyöt ovat jatkuneet nykypäivään asti. Kenttätyömatkoilla on haastateltu lähes 400 henkilöä. Aineistoon kuuluu yli 1200 ääniteyksikköä, noin 500 valokuvaa, noin 900 diaa ja muutamia videoita sekä haastattelujen litteraatioita ja muuta kenttätyöaineistoa. Suurin osa av-aineistosta on digitoitu."

Erityisenä kiinnostuksen kohteena on rajoittaako N ojitetuilla soilla puuston kasvua kylmän ilmaston olosuhteissa. Faktorikokeet, joissa tekijöinä ovat N-, P-, K-, ja usein myös hivenseoslannoitus, on perustettu 1976-1977. Reaktioita on seurattu toistuvin neulasanalyysein sekä mittaamalla puuston kasvua metsikkötasolla n. 5 vuoden jaksoina. Lisäksi koepuista on arvioitu tuhot ja niiden aiheuttajat. Koesarjana systemaattinen seuranta on päättynyt, mutta yksittäisillä kokeilla seurantaa voi olla perusteltua jatkaa.\n"

Survey data has been used for distribution modelling of the larval fish habitats and it is suitable for coastal spatial planning.\n\n##Method description\nThe larval areas of pikeperch, perch, Baltic herring and smelt were surveyed in the VELMU project in the Finnish coastal area in years 2007-2014. The larval fish survey comprised a total of 1788 sampling occasions at 655 distinct sampling sites in 5 sea areas Sampling sites covered the whole Finnish coast. Survey was usually conducted during one summer in one sea area, but during the sampling period every sampling site was visited 2 - 4 times at two weeks intervals. Paired Gulf samplers were used as the main survey method. The sampling was systematically conducted during the day (8 am to 8 pm) over transects of 400 m (in 2007–2008) or 500 m (in 2009–2014) at a speed of 2.2 kn and only in good weather conditions (wind speed < 8 m/s, wave height < 30 cm). The paired samplers had fixed depths of 0.5 m and 1.0 m, and the catch and effort were pooled to form one sample observation The samples were stored and species identification and measurement took place later in a laboratory. "en": "Magic-angle twisted bilayer graphene exhibits quasi-flat low-energy bands with van Hove singularities close to the Fermi level. These singularities play an important role in the exotic phenomena observed in this material, such as superconductivity and magnetism, by amplifying electronic correlation effects. In this work, we study the correspondence of four-terminal conductance and the Fermi surface topology as a function of the twist angle, pressure, and energy in mesoscopic samples of small-angle twisted bilayer graphene. We establish a correspondence between features in the wide-junction conductance and the presence of van Hove singularities in the density of states. Moreover, we identify additional transport features, such as a large, pressure-tunable minimal conductance, conductance peaks coinciding with non-singular band crossings, and unusually large conductance oscillations as a function of the system size. Our results suggest that twisted bilayer graphene close the magic angle is a unique system featuring simultaneously large conductance due to the quasi-flat bands, strong quantum nonlinearity due to the van Hove singularities and high sensitivity to external parameters, which could be utilized in high-frequency device applications and sensitive detectors.\r\n\r\nThe provided repository contains all data and scripts to reproduce the figures of the manuscript."

"en": "This is a brief step-by-step tutorial presenting an example approach for running massively parallel parametric sweeps with COMSOL Multiphysics on a computer cluster. The tutorial is written for the COMSOL version 6.0 and for the Aalto University's Triton cluster (which uses SLURM workload manager). However, the described approach is rather general and can be adjusted to other COMSOL versions and other cluster systems. It can serve as an alternative to the default parallel computation approaches, such as Cluster Sweep and Batch Sweep.\n\nThe tutorial describes:\n* setting up the folder structure when using COMSOL on a cluster for the first time,\n* checking the available COMSOL licenses,\n* setting up parallel computations using SLURM job arrays together with COMSOL batch licenses,\n* collecting the results using accumulated probe tables, \n* managing the workflow with batch submission scripts,\n* examples of Python scripts for reading and plotting the results."

Huttunen, submitted to Applied Physics Letters on 28 December 2022. \n\nThe instructions are given in the PDF file \"Replication instructions for Nonlinear nonlocal metasurfaces Fig 3 and 4.pdf\" , which contains:\n* Figures 3 and 4 and their captions, as in the submitted manuscript.\n* Step-by-step tutorials for setting up COMSOL simulations to obtain the same results as presented in Figure 3 (eigenfrequency analysis and calculation of electric field enhancement in periodic metasurfaces).\n* Python codes for reading and plotting the results.\n* Batch submission scripts for running the computations on a cluster.\n* Python codes for obtaining the results presented in Figure 4 (related to temporal dynamics).\n\nIn addition, this replication package contains three COMSOL model files (.mph):\n* Fig3a_model.mph,\n* Fig3b_model.mph,\n* Fig3c_model.mph,\n\nwhich can be used to obtain the results presented in Figures 3a, 3b, and 3c, respectively. These files are obtained in steps 2.26, 3.17, and 4.7 of the replication instructions. \n\nThe text files:\n* probe_table_from_cluster.txt,\n* probe_table_from_cluster_2.txt,\n* probe_table_from_cluster_3.txt,\n* Emax.txt,\n\ncontain the data presented in Figures 3a, 3b, 3c and 4c, respectively. Dataa on maalajeista, lajitekoostumuksesta, hiilestä, ravinteista, happamuudesta ja raskasmetalleista. Koealat olivat Valtion metsien 8. inventoinnin koealoja.\n\n##Menetelmäkuvaus\n\nValtakunnan metsien 8. inventoinnin yhteydessä vuosina 1985-1986 perustettiin metsäluonnon ja ympäristön tilan seurantaa varten noin 3000 pysyvää koealaa. Koealat on sijoitettu koko maan kattavaan inventointilohkojen verkostoon. Lohkojen etäisyydet toisistaan ovat Etelä-Suomessa sekä etelä-pohjoissuunnassa että itä-länsisuunnassa 16 km. Pohjois-Suomessa etäisyydet ovat etelä-pohjoissuunnassa 24 km ja itä-länsisuunnassa 32 km. Kullakin lohkolla on etelä-pohjoissuuntainen koealaryväs, joka käsittää Etelä-Suomessa 4 koealaa 400 metrin välein ja Pohjois-Suomessa 3 koealaa 600 metrin välein. BioSoil-hanketta varten kultakin lohkolta valittiin ja mitattiin 1 koeala. Valtakunnan metsien inventointien tiedonkeruu ja pinta-alojen arviointi perustuu kunkin metsätalouden maalle sijoittuvan koealan jakamiseen metsikkökuvioihin. Kuviointi muodostetaan kasvupaikan ja puuston ominaisuuksien perusteella. Metsikkökuvio on kasvupaikkatekijöiden ja puuston sekä metsässä tehtyjen ja tarvittavien hakkuu- ja hoitotoimien suhteen homogeeninen metsäalue. Inventoinnissa käytetty 4 aarin suuruinen pysyvä ympyräkoeala voi jakaantua useampaan metsikkökuvioon. Esimerkiksi jos osa koealasta kuuluu eri maaluokkaan, kasvupaikkatyyppiin tai koeala sattuu suon ja kankaan rajaan tai puuston kehitysluokkarajaan, se jaetaan metsikkökuvioiden mukaan kuvioihin. Biologit tarkensivat tarvittaessa inventoinnin ryhmänjohtajien arvioimaa em. koealakuviointia erottamalla tyyppikuviot koealasta tehtyyn peitepiirrokseen. Tyyppikuviot rajattiin kasvupaikkatyypin perusteella. Niiden avulla erotettiin pienialaiset toista tyyppiä edustavat kuviot, soistuneet painanteet jne. Pienimmän erotettavan tyyppikuvion tuli olla vähintään 5 % 4 aarin täyskoealan pinta-alasta. Inventoinnissa kenttä- ja pohjakerroslajien peittävyydet arvioitiin neljältä 4 aarin koealalle systemaattisesti sijoitetulta 2 m2 suuruiselta näyteruudulta. Kunkin kasvilajin runsautta arvioitiin projektiopeittävyytenä, eli ilmaversojen ja sekovarsien kattamana prosenttipeittävyytenä näyteruudulla. Peittävyydet arvioitiin prosentin tarkkuudella, alle 1 % peittävyydet 0,1 % tarkkuudella. Inventointiryhmien biologit saivat pysyvillä koealoilla suoritettaviin maastotöihin yhtenäisen koulutuksen. Koealoilta on inventoitu runsaasti puusto- ja kasvupaikkatunnuksia. Koealoilta on otettu myös maaperänäytteitä. "
