They were asked how likely it was that they would undertake certain measures to adapt to higher energy prices (shorten showering time, use electricity at cheaper times etc). Opinions were charted on different power and heating sources. Financial matters were studied with questions relating to household finances, estimates of the development of the respondent's own and national finances, and measures to support household and public finances. Views on expenditure cuts to different public sectors and services were surveyed. Climate change attitude questions investigated how possible the respondents considered adopting certain measures to combat climate change to be. Measures mentioned included giving up eating meat, dairy products or flying, reducing room temperature at home, teleworking, moving to a smaller home etc. NATO-related questions focused on attitudes to Finland's NATO membership. The respondents were also presented a number of factors and asked whether these were strengths or weaknesses when Finland competed for investments. Opinions were charted on Finland's EU membership and the adoption of the euro. Background variables included the respondent's age group, number of inhabitants in the municipality of residence, region (NUTS3), type of employer, working hours, type of employment contract, education, economic activity and occupational status, employment sector, trade union membership, what political party would vote for in parliamentary elections, self-perceived social class, mother tongue and year of birth.","fi":"Tutkimuksessa kartoitettiin suomalaisten arvoja ja asenteita. Tällä kertaa teemoina ovat kohonneet energiakustannukset ja energiantuotanto, Suomen julkinen talous, kuluttajahintojen nousu sekä ilmastonmuutos ja ilmastoteot. Aluksi vastaajille esitettiin väittämiä yhteiskunnan eri osa-alueilta. Seuraavaksi tiedusteltiin tarkemmin, kuinka uhkaavana vastaajat pitävät kohonneita energian hintoja talouden ja toimeentulon kannalta. Edelleen tiedusteltiin toimia, joita vastaajat ovat valmiita tekemään sopeutuakseen kalliimpaan energiaan sekä ajatuksia energiantuotannosta. Tämän jälkeen tiedusteltiin Suomen julkisen talouden kehityksestä sekä talouden vakauttamisen toimenpiteistä kuluttajahintojen nousun vuoksi. Julkiseen talouteen ja sektoriin liittyen tiedusteltiin myös vastaajien ajatuksia toimista sekä mahdollisista menoleikkauksista, joilla julkista taloutta voidaan tasapainottaa. Lopuksi kysyttiin vielä vastaajien ajatuksia siitä, miten kansalaiset voivat toimia ilmaston lämpenemisen hidastamiseksi ja siitä miten mahdollisena vastaajat pitävät toimien toteuttamista omassa elämässään. survey charted the occupational training and cooperation needs of editors of scientific publications in Finland with a view to promoting the emergence and take-up of new forms of training and cooperation. The survey was conducted in the spring of 2021 as part of a joint project of ten Finnish scientific publications, funded by the Finnish Association for Scholarly Publishing. First, respondents were asked which roles they currently had in their editorial boards and which roles they have had in the past. The respondents were then asked whether they had attended any training or induction sessions for editors of scientific publications, which organisations had organised the training and what the training had covered. The respondents were also asked what kind of pedagogy they had found to be effective in the training sessions. On the topic of information provision, the respondents were asked about the channels through which they had found out about the training opportunities and how they would like to receive information about opportunities for training and cooperation. The respondents were also asked about the topics on which training was needed and how training provision could be improved. In terms of cooperation, the respondents were asked how the scientific publication they worked at was currently cooperating with other scientific publications, what kind of cooperation they were interested in and which communication channels they would like to use for cooperation. Finally, the respondents were asked how the scientific publication they worked at took into account editorial turnover, i.e. the loss of information when editors left and the need for information when new editors joined. Background variables included the respondent's role in their editorial team and experience of working in an editorial team (in years).","fi":"Aineistossa selvitetään tieteellisten julkaisujen toimitusten koulutus- sekä yhteistyötarpeita tarkoituksena edistää uusien koulutus- ja yhteistyömuotojen syntymistä sekä käyttöönottoa. Kysely toteutettiin keväällä 2021 osana kymmenen kotimaisen tieteellisen julkaisun yhteistä hanketta, jota rahoitti Suomen tiedekustantajien liitto ry. Aluksi vastaajilta kysyttiin, missä rooleissa he toimivat toimituskunnissa tällä hetkellä, sekä missä rooleissa he ovat aiemmin toimineet. Sen jälkeen kartoitettiin, olivatko vastaajat osallistuneet tieteellisten julkaisujen toimituksille suunnattuihin koulutuksiin tai perehdytystilaisuuksiin. Kiinnostuneita oltiin, mitkä tahot koulutuksia olivat järjestäneet ja mitä koulutukset olivat käsitelleet. Vastaajia pyydettiin arvioimaan, millaisen pedagogiikan he ovat kokeneet koulutuksissa toimivaksi. Tiedottamiseen liittyen kysyttiin, mitä kautta vastaajat olivat saaneet tietoa koulutuksista, ja mitä kautta he toivoisivat saavansa tietoa järjestettävistä koulutuksista ja yhteistöistä. Kysyttiin myös, mistä aiheista koulutusta kaivattiin, ja miten koulutustarjontaa voitaisiin kehittää. Yhteistyöhön liittyen tiedusteltiin, millaista yhteistyötä lehtien välillä tehtiin ja millaisesta yhteistyöstä oltiin kiinnostuneita. Next, those respondents who had children under the age of 18 in the household were asked whether they had used different forms of corporal punishment (pulling hair, spanking etc.) and whether they had threatened their children with violence. First, reasons behind the decision to stand for election in the municipal elections (e.g. the will to help others, to acquire useful skills for work, to implement the political values of their party) and what or who (e.g. friends, trade union, employer) had encouraged the candidates to stand for election were charted. The respondents' political opinions and ideology were examined with attitudinal statements regarding the direction of Finland's future, such as lower taxation or more environmentally friendly policies. The respondents were asked whose representative they thought they would be as local councillors (e.g. those who had voted for them or all residents of the municipality), and their satisfaction with democracy in Finland and their municipality was examined as well. The respondents' political campaign was examined with questions concerning, for example, which activities were part of their campaign (e.g. canvassing, direct mailing, personal advertisements), how much time and money they had spent on the campaign, how the funding had been spent (e.g. for campaign videos or radio/TV advertising), and whether they targeted any specific groups in their campaign. The help and support the respondents received from their family, friends or acquaintances in different aspects of their political campaign (e.g. coordinating schedule and budget, maintaining social media accounts, moral support) was surveyed. Opinions on the effects that the coronavirus pandemic and the postponing of the municipal elections had on the elections were charted. The respondents were also asked whether they had noticed or experienced electoral disruption (e.g. spreading misinformation, data breaches and different data leaks) during the municipal elections. The respondents were asked whether they had stood for election in various different elections before, whether they had been selected in those elections and how many times. The factors behind them being chosen as a candidate of a party or constituency association (e.g. professional experience, position within the party, extensive local network of acquaintances) were examined. The respondents were also asked whether they currently held or had previously held positions of trust in their municipality of residence or participated in the work of different organisations. Additionally, the support the respondents had received from their party or constituency association, the position of women in the respondents' party or constituency association, and the position of women in the municipal politics of the respondents' municipality were investigated. The survey examined diplomats' involvement in Twitter communication and the value of Twitter interaction in the diplomatic context. 108 Icelandic, Swedish, Finnish, Danish and Estonian diplomats responded to the survey. The first set of questions focused on the respondents Twitter use and included questions on type of Twitter account the respondents used, how long they had been using Twitter, and how frequently they used Twitter for various activities (e.g. tweeting, retweeting, following other accounts). Satisfaction with Twitter regarding personal and organisational goals was also surveyed. Additionally, the respondents were asked how important active Twitter participation was for their work. Next, the respondents' communication on Twitter was investigated with a series of statements (e.g. On Twitter I am very perceptive to the meaning of others' behaviour in relation to myself and situation). Those respondents who did not use Twitter for their work as a diplomat were asked about main reasons for doing so. Finally, the respondents were asked to assess how Twitter communication benefitted their country (e.g. maintaining important networks, increase in the amount of media exposure and publicity, increase in public impression that my country supports good causes). The questionnaire is largely based on the use of two survey instruments. Interaction involvement was measured with the 18-item Interaction Involvement Scale, the wording of which was adapted to suit Twitter communication. The benefits of Twitter communication were measured with a 10-item Public Relations Value Assessment, which was also adapted to the context of the study. Further statements concerned development in the workplace, work ability, coping at work, equality, and rewarding. After the attitudinal statements, the respondents were enquired whether they had, within the previous 12 months, experienced violence or harassment by customers/clients or been bullied or treated unfairly at the workplace by colleagues or superiors. Finally, the respondents' views on their personal work well-being and its development within the previous year were charted, and they were asked whether they felt joy in their work and whether they would recommend their workplace to others. The respondents' views on how they expected scientific and technological developments to change people's daily lives in the next 10-20 years were investigated. The respondents were also asked whether they thought that science can solve certain problems or considerably help mankind (e.g. find a cure for cancer, raise the standard of living, stop or delay climate change, eradicate hunger from the world, decrease unemployment, promote peace and democracy). Additionally, opinions on how well certain aspects of science (e.g. quality of research, level of technology and medicine, ethical issues, science funding, usefulness of science to society and everyday life) have been taken care of in Finland were charted. The survey also carried various attitudinal statements on science and research. The statements covered, for instance, relationships between religion and science, science funding, alternative medicine, researchers' involvement in politics, use of scientific information in political decision-making, impact of scientific and technological development, climate change, and nutrition. Finally, the respondents' opinions on immunization were charted with questions relating to, for example, the effectiveness and safety of vaccines, the reliability of information given by authorities, and the right to choose or decline immunization for themselves or their children. The impact that the coronavirus pandemic had had on the respondents' trust in various bodies (e.g. researchers, journalists, health officials, influencers who criticise health officials) was also surveyed. Respondents were asked whether they were receiving any student financial allowances for the studies they were currently pursuing, and how adequate the number of months of financial aid seemed at the moment. The reasons for raising student loans and other sources of income, such as support from parents or other close relatives, were also of interest. Next, they were asked about working, the reasons for working while studying and the impact of working on the progress of their studies. Respondents were asked to assess the adequacy of their own financial resources and their own employment prospects after graduation. Respondents were also asked whether they had taken out consumer credit, applied for food aid or taken any other action in the last 12 months to deal with a tight financial situation. Finally, the respondents were asked about the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on their financial situation. study charted municipal, state and church employees' experiences of work conditions and workplace well-being in Finland. The target group of the study comprised employees insured under the Public Sector Pensions Act: Finnish municipal employees, employees of government agencies and departments, and employees of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland. The study was conducted by Keva, the pension provider for public sector employees in Finland. The respondents were presented with attitudinal statements and asked to evaluate the extent to which they agreed with these statements. The first statements covered work processes, satisfaction with superiors, working climate and work atmosphere, working conditions, competence requirements, and personal development. Further statements concerned development in the workplace, work ability, coping at work, equality, and rewarding. After the attitudinal statements, the respondents were enquired whether they had, within the previous 12 months, experienced violence or harassment by customers/clients or been bullied or treated unfairly at the workplace by colleagues or superiors. Finally, the respondents' views on their personal work well-being and its development within the previous year were charted, and they were asked whether they felt joy in their work and whether they would recommend their workplace to others. The aim of the study was to find out how satisfied minority language speakers in bilingual municipalities were with the services offered in their mother tongue. 36 bilingual municipalities in Finland were included in the study. The study first examined the respondents' language skills and whether the respondents' children went to a Swedish- or Finnish-language daycare or school. The respondents' use of Swedish, Finnish or both in different types of contexts (e.g. at home, at school, with friends, at the store, with municipal and state authorities, at work) was also investigated. The respondents' familiarity with their linguistic rights was charted, along with how important these rights were for them. They were also asked to evaluate the attitudes towards minority language speakers in the municipality and change in this relationship within the past few years. Harassment or discrimination experienced by the respondents because of their language were also surveyed. The next set of questions focused on the availability and quality of municipal and state services in the respondents' mother tongue. The respondents were asked to evaluate municipal services (e.g. social and healthcare services, libraries, sports facilities) in their home municipality from the perspective of minority language users. State services (e.g. police, tax offices, emergency response central agency) were also evaluated. For both municipal and state services, the respondents were asked whether the services had developed for the better or for the worse in the previous year, and if special measures should be taken to preserve Swedish-language service in the future. Additionally, the functionality of online municipal and state services in the respondents' mother tongue was charted. Finally, the respondents' reactions in the case that they did not receive service in their own language were surveyed, and the respondents were asked whether they had noticed an increase in the prevalence of English as a customer service language when accessing public services in Finland. Kyselyssä selvitettiin myös omalla äidinkielellä saatavien kunnallisten palveluiden ja muiden julkisten palveluiden toimivuutta. Vastaajilta kysyttiin, saavatko he tai yrittävätkö he saada erilaisia palveluita omalla kielellään kunnassaan ja valtion viranomaisilta. Eriteltyjä kunnallisia palveluita (kuten sairaalahoito, kirjasto, liikuntapaikat) ja valtion viranomaisten palveluita (kuten Hätäkeskus 112, Posti, Verotoimisto ja DVV) pyydettiin arvioimaan kouluarvosanoilla.
